View Full Version : Protest the death of internet radio

If you listen to music on the internet, then this will be of interest to you.

New rules go into effect very soon that charge everyone who broadcasts on the internet for every listerner who hears every song, starting retroactively from last year. 5 cents may not sound like much, but if you have 1000 listeners who hear it once a day, each day for a week, that's $350 for one song for one week, which is higher than satelite radio broadcasters have to pay (a fee bradcast radio boardcasters don't have to pay at all).

Most internet radio stations can't afford that, which would effectively kill them off. This means less variety for the listener, less chance of smaller acts getting a big break, and much more.

Sign the petition (http://www3.capwiz.com/saveinternetradio/issues/alert/?alertid=9631541) to stop this today. The charges go into effect very soon. The more protests there are, the better chance that maybe something can be done. There's not promise that the corporate juggernaut can be stopped, but every little bit helps.

Thank you for your time.
