Sure, it's common during your teen years. But going as far as suicide, your way too young kiddo.

I know what you mean. There are several things I could have. I think they just got mixed together or something.

They HAVE depression? That just sounds ridiculous.
I think that the emphasis put on clinical depression these days makes EVERYONE feel depressed. That doesn't mean they are. My mom is a child phychiatrist, and she's sees kids who tell her they're "depressed" all the time.
I think it's all crap. I'm not denying all claims, but I am skeptical. Everyone gets upset. It doesn't all have to be classified as what teens today think of as "depression."
It's absurd.

I totaly agree with you, though...
I'm sure there is some (meaning rarely) teens who do suffer from depression. But, then again they are mostly the ones you wouldn't think suffer from depression. And it makes me doubt it more if you live an American life...

Spot on Dominos.
Millions of people claim to have depression because they feel "sad." But the fact is that only a small percentage of them actually have this 'Depression.'
I felt horrible in 7th and 8th grade. Sometimes I cried myself to sleep over things, but it wasn't depression. It's natural to have saddness in worry in someone's life. If one's sad, it doesn't mean something is wrong with them.
It's just like ADD. It seems like every other person I talk to claims to have it, and gets certian modifications. Just because they get distracted from time to time doesn't mean something is severely wrong with them.
But, seriously, who's going to say he has ADD when he's applying for college?
No one.
EDIT:
Now, if you're talking about feeling depressed, then that's okay, because that's an adjective.
But depression is a noun, and it's a whole different story.

Oh, of course. I'm not denying that. I'm not saying depression doesn't exist, I'm just saying it's rarer than teens today like to think.
I've lost count of how many kids (on here and elsewhere) say they're "depressed" for attention's sake. True, I can't know. But that's just how it is most of the time.

My sentiments EXACTLY. Particularly that last part.

People usually mistake depression for simply being sad. You can't really say, "I'm feeling rather depressed today."
