Yalean year, 610.
An old man hobbled to an ancient rocking chair, his bones creaking as he sat down, groaning.
"Alright, my child, I'll tell you this last story, so listen up." He said gruffly, a slight snarl in his voice. However, he coughed, ruining the impression. His tanned skin had paled, and he wheezed constantly. Even though he looked rough, he smiled at the child, his eyes revealing a deep affection. The girl sat on the rough ground, her skirt flaring around her knobbly knees. She was seven, but looked younger. A smile lit up her face, showing two missing teeth. She was unaware of what was going on in her grandfather's body, as the adults had not yet broken the news to her. Her bright red-orange hair was in stark contrast to the dusty room. The wood planks around her were rough-hewn, and the ship they lived on creaked as it rocked to and fro in the river's slight waves.
"When this world was created, The One decided to let us pitiful human beings have one pure bit in our hearts. That part is where our Guardian is stored. The Guardian in your heart can be anything. A plant, a rock, an animal. It can assume any shape or size, but once it settles on one, then it's done. No more changing for it, but a lot of changing for you. But lately..." The old man looked out the porthole, at the red full moon, which had just barely risen over the horizon, even though it had been dark for a long time. "Lately, there haven't been Guardians... It seems... the pure part of our Hearts has gone, it has been corrupted. Even... Even mine, and your parents, everyone in this family, everyone's hearts seemed to have been cursed." The girl whimpered, placing her hand over her own Heart. The man smiled at this, and put his hand over hers. "Your Heart, though, seems... different. I think, well, you'll have to find out on your own." He reached down and hugged her. "That's all I can say tonight, my gentle Aoi. You'll have to discover the rest on your own.” Aoi nodded, before standing and giving her grandfather a kiss on the cheek. “G’night Tattah!” She said cheerily. He nodded at her. “Goodnight, my dear Aoi. May your Guardian remain pure, and may your Heart flourish.” He looked at the moon again after she closed the door. “It’s red… Death comes tonight, followed by pain and sadness… but afterwards, afterwards comes a great strength, a great uprising.” He chuckled. “Looks like the world is changing. But thanks to my health, I will not be here to witness it. Good luck, Aoi. Aoi Wildcat Eclipse.” With that parting blessing, he closed his eyes and sighed, the life washing out of him gently.
A bright light.
Yalean year, 610. Three days later.
“No! Lemme see him! Lemme go, lemme go! I wanna see Tattah! Don’t let them take him away!” Aoi cried out, reaching for the casket her grandfather was in. Tears spilled from her eyes, flying off her face as she struggled to get to his side.
“Aoi, he’s gone. Stop, please!” Aoi’s mother said.
“Tattah…” Aoi said, going limp, her hand still outstretched towards the still body that was being pushed into the water for burial.
Something flashed.
Yalean year, 615.
Aoi, five years older, stood there, more tears spilling from her eyes. Her hair had become brighter, and she much taller. Her chest had also just started to enlarge, barely visible with the black dress she wore.
“Maddah, Tanno, why?” She asked, gasping for breath. An old family friend held her shoulders. She bent down to the young girl and wiped her tears, one of her own trickling down her face as well.
“It was an accident, Aoi. The boat overturned in the storm. Nothing could save them. I’m sorry.”
Again, a flash.
Yalean year, 619.
A girl of about sixteen stood on the prow of a small gypsy boat. The wind blew in her face. Her long orange hair had been wrapped in a bun in the back, but was hidden by a blue ribbon that covered most of it. The part you could see was short and choppy, with longer strands hanging down with ceremonial beads in it. Her bright blue eyes surveyed the water, and she threw her arms back happily, her Heart lighter than it had been, but still carrying a heavy burden. Though she was a full-fledged Kim-un-Kur, or a Gypsy Tribal Woman, who had already Shown, and was available for marriage, that was the last thing on her mind. She looked at the horizon, and grinned. “Aunta, it’s there! There’s the town! Now we can finally sell those wares!” She jumped up and down, acting more excited and happy than she felt. Aunta, completely fooled, smiled. “Alright, Aoi, let’s go.” They changed the boats course slightly to the east, towards the capital city of Reyan.
Yeah, yeah. It took forever to write, and it may take a while for you to read. Get over it. Sorry, sorry, I was up ‘til 3 AM last night, er morning, because I had been on a trip. So I’m a little gruff at the moment…
Yeah, anyways…
Plot- You’ll find out.
Guardians- Only a few people can have ‘em, and only if they ask me first. YOU decide what they look like, though. Also, Guardians can fight for themselves, and they can also transform their Hume so that they can fight, too.
Please, I’m begging you, NO detailed explicit stuff… Only imply cyber, okay?
This is actually a REAL roleplay. Like the Sims or the Sims 2... Which means that kids can be born, people can be married, killed, contract illnesses… The seasons change. And sometimes I’ll decide to change the day, month, etc. But I will ask first, and if there are too many oppositions I’ll wait till a part that I CAN change it, ‘kay?
This has all the rules of an ADVANCED roleplay, especially with the grammar and sentences in the post.
Basically, use CORRECT, or close to it, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and QUOTATION MARKS.
NO netspeak.
At least THREE GOOD sentences in each post. Do not just randomly put something in. Describe the character's eyes, their hair, the wind, the sky, the ground, the emotion level, what they're thinking, etc, etc. Okay?
This time, I really will try to enforce my grammar rules, ya hear me?! I will NOT say sorry if you are REALLY messing up the sentences. YOU are responsible for what YOU type!!!
No godmoding, autohitting, etc or I will come and GM your --- to death and that'll be the end of it.
Okay, that's about it for the rules... Oh yeah, be literate and STICK WITH THIS RP!!!!!!
