Beasts Among Mankind...

[Dark_Heart]

Normal day...for some.

There are those who are normal. Humans with everyday lives, working to help support their families and keep up with their daily lives. But among these many people, there are those who can not live a simple life, because they are to worried about when they will die.

Story-
Many years ago, a man was searching through ancient Egyptian ruins looking for artifacts to add to his collection of rare and beautiful masterpieces. He was alone away from his group looking through a pit filled with rocks. Pushing away some of the large stones the man discovered a circular object imparted in one of the stones. He took the object with him and he began to study it. Deciphering the Egyptian language, the top of the stone read, 'Tabula'. The rest of the writing he was unable to uncode. Years past and he developed a wild temper and he never talked to people more than he used to. Strangely, he also began to disappear at night and in the morning, he would pace and mumble to himself, then studying the 'tabula' many times over and over. Tragically he died at the age of 36. Doctors never discovered why he passed on...


Now, present day. More and more cases have gone and past ending just like the founder of the 'Tabula'. In the deaths of these people. Amazingly, few of these individuals began to team up and search for the cause of this, sadly they too also held the burdun of the scientist, finding that they all have skin born tattoos that appear on them without call, and also disappearing defines them apart from others reveling that they become beasts when their tempers flare. Now they set out on the quest to find the reasoning for this evil happening...

Tora lay on the roof of her home. She had spent to whole day studying 'Tabula'. But, for some reason she was exhausted. The research wasn't getting anywhere...She sighed and turned onto her side. "Stupid Tabula..." She muttered, and fell asleep on her roof.

Milla came to a stop sitting down on a bench. Her midnight black hair flowing in the wind. Her golden eyes looking towards the sky. She rubbed her right hand on her left wrist. "I hate this." She whispered to the sky.

Milla looked at the people fighting. She sighed to herself and stood. "You know if someone sees you..your going to be in a hell of a Lotta trouble." She smiled.

i woke up and walked past them as a mouse still and said "morning" to them

* riley turned half around and his eyes shreadded with a shock of gold and he clenched his teeth that started to sharpen*

"No!" Hantero snapped to her pulling her back. Ice struggled against him with no succes. She began to change as well. Hantero sighed deeply.

i walked to the grass and layed on it noticing the girl on the bench

Milla sighed. "Idiots." She whispered and walked back into a dark alley into the shadows. Her golden glare gave off a cat-like glow in the stillness of the night.

"what the..." i noticed them start to change and ran in front of them not talking but watching them change

are they cursed too i thought

* Riley ran at Ice as his size rapidly increased. silver hair protruded from his skin riping his clothing. His face extened as a snout and bared his teeth which were now as sharp as razors.*

i climbed onto the girls shoulder "are you ok" i asked her noticing fur grow on her

Hantero stepped between them. "You shouldn't be fighting." He growled at the two. Ice took a step back and snarled. Hantero laughed lightly. "Don't you see we're all the same." He looked to riley, then Ice, then the boy watching.

"See." He laughed to Ice. "He was like us." Ice rolled her eyes and lowered her hat over her eyes again.

Milla watched from the dark. She was growing angry. She was trying to keep it under control. She could hear her heart pounding in her chest. "Stop it." she whispered to them in a dead like tone. "Stop the fighting or-I will change.." She whispered. Her voice was still so very dark it wasn't the kind of nice, sweet girly voice you would normally hear. It had a dark pitch to it that you know you wouldn't want to be around when she got angry.

Hantero looked to her oddly. "Alright." He sighed shrugging. Ice didn't move.

i looked at myself with fur over me and my skin changed but i was still human "so this is the curse" i said noticing i had a tail behind me

i better get out of here i thought

* riley still in his beast form stood up on two legs*"...others do bear the mark..."* he said in a growl-like voice* " were not alone, I will tell you..." * riley stood still in his form feeling unguarded if he changed back*

"that's right. There's an abonded warehouse near the edge of town. We can go there." He smiled. Ice began to walk away toward the city.

Hantero held an arm out and grabbed the bag. "Nice try." He opened the bag and let him out. Ice growled angerly. "Okay okay." He picked his pace up to match hers.

koori was walking and saw four other people ahead of her.

koori stopped and looked at him, she backed up alittle.

"And i'll grow wings and fly." He laughed back. Ice growled at him in warning. "Hey boy dude whatever. She wants to know where you're going."

Hantero looked a bit annoyed and turned to walk to him. "Aye, whether you like it or not we need to stick togeather." Ice stopped and waited for them. Some people have no sence.

* riley turned and growled at hantero* will you take it easy you idiot."* riley turned to koori tranforming back at the same time. his clothes were shreaded as his silver hair hung in his face*" mind to join us then, explanation can be hald later"* he waited for her reply*

Milla nodded and kept walking. She really did walk like a the cat she was. Her eyes turned back to the 2 siblings and the girl. "What are your names? Mine is Milla." She said.

Ice dropped her pace alittle. She's silent, too. I wonder if she understands me as I do her? Ice sighed picking her pace up a bit. "This is my sister Ice and I'm Hantero."

Milla nodded to Koori as if understanding. "Your..different like me..I've met others like us..this curse..we bare is our fate." She whispered rubbing the the mark on her wrist. "Do you understand?"

Ice nodded to the paper. "So was she." Hantero looked a bit deprested. Something he hadn't shown yet.

Milla walked forward. "I already knew. My beast is the panther." She whispered lightly and then was silent. Her voice was like the wind, cold, hard, yet calm. Her eyes lit up the dark.

"Polar bear. Ice's is a fox." He looked to her. It didn't really match them, but they didn't chose it.

"I see." She remarked closing her eyes.

Hantero remained in deep thought. Aswell did Ice.

Milla walked in slience also. It was normal for her. She looked at the man leading them. He was diffrent too. She felt shivers come up her spine, yet she ignored them. Her eyes looked up at the moon. "Curse." She whispered.

Milla sighed. She just kept walking. Her long black hair brushing her shoulders. Her piercing eyes glaring at Riley.

Milla turned in a gaze that would freeze anyone. "What if I told you I do have a problem?! Other than this damn curse with him!" She shouted pointing to Riley.

* riley wasn't paying much attention until he happened to look over seeing Milla pointing at him. He had a questioning look on his face*

Milla turned slient now. She didn't speak. Her eyes cold as ice, yet were still the golden flame.

koori sighed but stopped walking when she heard something. she turned and everything went black, not because she passed out but because someone threw a bag over her head.

* riley yawned *" okay, you ppl need to lighten up. This is getting stupid"* he transformed into his beast and jumped on a building walking along the edge*

Milla sighed and jumped up. She was using her cat instincts. . Her eyes still followed Riley. She hated the scent she got from him, she didn't get a good feelings. This was strange. Maybe it was just because he was a wolf..and she was a panther. She noticed the girl who was mute having a bag over her head. She jumped back down swiped her hand as if it was a paw and the bag was cut off. She growled at the man who tried to capture her and he backed off. She then jumped back up on the edge.

koori glared at the man and her claws grew, she turned into her beast form and chased him alittle bit. she walked back to the group with the guys shirt hanging from her teeth.

* riley walked abit and looked behind him seeing Milla had followed and was keeping a close yee on him. He jumped to another building on the other side of the road*

Milla pulled herself to a stop right before hitting the solid wall. She growled angry and then transformed back turning to normal again. She leaned against the wall. Her hands balled into fists. She wanted to kill him..so badly.
