Okay. There is this nazi man, dying from serious wounds and he asks a Jewish man to be brought(he's in a hospital). They bring him and Karl(nazi) asks Simon(Jew) to forgive him for the wrong he has done. He then tells him a long butt story about being traumatized of a jewish families death(too long to describe.X_X). The Jewish man gets up..and walks out without another word. Here's the problems:
1) Karl killed thousands of Jews.
2) He knew what he did was wrong when he was commiting them but he did it anyways.
3)He should have seen the error of his ways BEFORE he killed them.
4)He is asking some random Jew for forgiveness.
Here are why he should be forgiven:
1) he had the guts to ask for forgiveness.
2) He saw that his acts were wrong.
3) He meant every word of what he said to Simon.
4) He wants his soul cleansed before he dies.
5) What would Jesus do?(had to put that)
6) What your religion believes(ex: you should forgive)
What do you think? Should Simon had forgiven him? not? or just walked away?

Either I'm misunderstanding, or it's just some Nazi apologising to some random Jewish person? They have no background, right?

That's...odd. Did this actually happen?
Well, to answer the question, even if they had had personal experience together, I can completely understand why Simon wouldn't forgive Karl. I'd like to think everyone can forgive and forget and life can be one big rainbow, but that's unrealistic. Since Simon was not directly affected by Karl, I think Simon has even less a reason to want to forgive Karl. He could think that he really has no right to forgive him instead of all the other Jewish people he hurt.

That's a nice idea, but like I said, it's unrealistic. Put yourself in Simon's place. Pretending that Karl actually had directly affected his life, wouldn't it be difficult to forgive someone who tortured you and your family and helped emotionally scar you for the rest of your life? But, since in reality they lack any sort of past together, wouldn't Karl symbolise to Simon all the Nazis who destroyed the rest of his life?

Well, I wouldn't say you're being a brat (or a bart :D ) if you just walked away. I'd say you're being human.

Why shouldn't he forgive him? I mean, I understand that whole issue, and yeah, it'd be hard as anything. I'm not sure I could do it, but I'd like to think I'd try. It's just...thr right thing.
You know, treat your neighbor as you would have them treat you, and all that jazz.

I don't have a religion to base this around but I don't think I'd forgive him. If I were a Jewish male (-- ahem -- I'm going with the story) I probably wouldn't forgive him either. He put my family through hell and he killed all those people! If he was going to go to 'hell' he deserves it.
(I don't really know Jewish beliefs, sorry.)

I think Simon did the right thing. A right thing, anyway... it’s not always black and white, lol. Here’s my logic:
-Considering a single random person a representative of an entire race, only shows that Karl was still prejudiced and not thinking of Jews as equal human beings.
-Karl had already condemned himself to his own personal hell of guilt by knowingly defying his own conscience.
-Karl needed to forgive himself in order to “clense his soul", not ask someone to do it for him.
-According to Judaism, as I understand it, Simon really didn’t have the power to pass such righteous judgement, anyway.
