A suggestion

Hi, I'm new here and this is actually my first post, but I've gone through some threads already and what caught my attention is that there is a rule that avatars can't exceed certain size, but there is no such limit for signatures... I noticed that some users have 3 pictures in a sig and I even found a picture that is like 1024 x 768...

Now, I understand if people want to show what they like, but I just think that it slows the forum down - waiting for all the signatures to load untill you can finally read what the thread is about.

So my suggestion would be to put some kind of a limit on the signatures - number of pictures in them or their size... Anything...

That's normal for most forums, so I don't see why that wouldn't work here. (I have the feeling that some of the images are being used to get around the text limit, anyway...5000 characters isn't much. So maybe make the character limit for text longer, and start an image size limit? Just a thought...)

Or, if people don't want to have to change their sigs too much, maybe it could be set up so you only see someone's sig once a page. In some threads, you'll have one line of text and an inch of screen space taken up by a sig, and you see the same thing 4 times in one page, for each person who posted, over and over and over again. What's the point of it? All you really need is to look at it once, right? After that, seeing it again is like a rerun. And on the next page, the person's sig would appear again under their most recent post on that page.
