Jess kissed his lips softly, "Yeah, sure." She said softly.

Brent walked out with his drink

Kelsa smiled at him a little.

Trey kept his arm tight around her as they walked back out to the living room.

Jess held onto him tightly too as they sat back on the couch.

Brent smiled back.

They chatted for another hour or so. Trey was fully drunk by now.

Kelsa rubbed the side of her stomach as she got another twinge.

Jess watched trye make a fool of himself.

Brent was right with him

Trey was singing Christmas carols loudly, and off key while standing on the coffee table.

Kelsa shook her head, laughing a little as she watched them.

Victoria laughed at her brother's antics.

Brent was doing the same thing, just waving a lighter around,

Jess shook her head

Kelsa laughed then gasped. She wasn't expecting another pain since she had just had one.

Trey started dancing a little.

Jess looked at Kelsa "Huh?" she got up slowly and walked over.

[Hikari Hoshi]

Kelsa huffed a little, "Jess, I don't think these are false." She said, hold her stomach.

Victoria got up and joined them, "Is it the baby?"

Jess looked down at Kelsa, "Alright hold on." She said going to get her some water and maybe a towel, "Here." She handed it to her as she went to get the car ready.

Brent was still doing what he was doing.

Kelsa took a sip when the pain subsided and nodded a little, "Yeah," She answered Victoria. "Brent? Honey are you in any condition to understand what I'm saying?"

Brent stopped and looked at her, "Huh?" He blinked.
Jess got everything ready for her in the car. "Trey...get down!"

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Brent, hun, I'm having the baby now." Kelsa said, as calmly as she could manage. "Do you think you can come to the hospital with me?"

Trey looked at his wife, "Whyyy, babe, I'm having fun!"

Jess glared at him, "Get your ass down." Clearly irrtated at him right now as she went to get Kelsa.

Kelsa got up carefully, "I need my shoes." She said to Jess. "Brent, hun, we're going for a drive, get in the car."

Trey got down, looking a little like a kicked puppy.

Jess nodded and helped her put her shoes on quickly, then helped her out to the car and into the back seat, she got Brent back there with her.

Trey tried to get into the drivers seat. "Where to?" he asked, kind of slurred.

Kelsa took Brents hand, talking to him like he was a little kid, "Vicky is staying with the kids." she told him, "We're going to the hospital so I can have a baby, okay?"

Brent blinked at her, "What?" He said, shaking his head a little.

Jess llooked at him and started to back out, "Hospital." She said.

"OOokay," Trey said, pretending to drive.

"We're having a baby Bent." She told him, "We're going to the hospital and I'm going to be in pain for a few hours while I give birth to your son."

Jess gave Trey a look, "Stop it." She told him strenly and started to drive towards the hospital.

"Nah." He said shaking his head a little, "No were notttt..." He said like a little kid would.

"Aw," Trey pouted a little.

Kelsa sighed, "Yeah, Brent, real great." she muttered, "As soon as we get to the hospital you and Trey are going to be loaded with black coffee."

Jess took a deep breath as she concentrated to the raod.

Brent shook his head and rolled down the window and stuck his head out of it.

Kelsa gasped and pulled him back in before rolling up the window. "Brent it's freezing!" She shreeked, "And I'm having a baby! Could you try to sober up just a little?!"

Jess galnced back at her.

Brent stared at her, "NO!" He then pouted and sniffled like a little kid would and he let ears come up, this is what happens when he drinks a lot.

Kelsa started to say something then gasped, gripping his arm as another contraction hit.

Brent whined and pulled his arm away from her.

Kelsa held fast until the contraction was passed.

Brent sniffled and rubbed his arm a little as he tried to move away.

Kelsa sighed, "Brent, when I'm done, you're dead." She said, leaning back against the seat.

Brent looekd at her, then shook his head, "No I'm not!"

Jess sighed as she seen the hospital come into view.

Kelsa sighed with relief when she saw the hospital. "Finally. Oh! I forgot to call my doctor!"

Jess looked back, "Its okay, they have to take you now." She laughed slightly at that was she got a spot close to the doors.

Brent looked at the hospital "Why?"

"For the last time Brent, I! am having! your baby!" Kelsa huffed. "I would as you to get me a wheel chair but I can't trust you right now!"

Trey hopped out, "I'll get it!!" He said, running off.

Brent stared at her, biting his lip. "O-oh..." He got out slowly, "I'ma...go help Trey." He said getting out of the car and shuffled slowly after him.

Jess rolled her eyes and then got out and got in the back with Kelsa.

"Why me?" Kelsa asked, on the virge of tears, "Why does he have to be drunk now? When I need him most? I can't do this on my own Jess, I just can't!"

Trey grabbed a wheel chair and started running back, almost running into Brent.

Brent bit his lip and stepped out of the way. He slowly walked into the hospital and looked around for a nurse.

Jess 'shhed' her. "Its okay, I'm here...I can help you get through it." She said softly as she seen Trey coming back.

"Toot! Toot!" Trey said, "The train is here!!"

Kelsa sighed, wiping her eyes, "Thanks Jessy." she said softly, "God, this kid must hate me or something."

Jess nodded and got out, then helped her into the wheel cahir, then took her away from Trey.

Brent huffed when he couldn't get one to talk to him. He sat int he waiting room.

Kelsa sat still as she was wheeled in, looking around for Brent. She kind of felt bad now about snapping at him.

Trey jogged along beside Jess.

Brent stretched a little as he looked over at the magazines, he understood now, but didn't want to be there when she was giving birth, he might do something stupid. He picked up a fishing magazine and stared at the wrods, trying to focus on them.

Jess looked down at her, then found a nurse and told her waht was going on.

The nurse got them signed in and to a room while her doctor was called. Kelsa tried to get comfortable in the bed. "Get Brent some coffee please." She said, "I don't want him to miss this."

Trey was playing with the reflex hammer.

Jess nodded, "Trey..." She said grabbing it from and set it down. "Pleas estay here with Kelsa." She said softly and walked out of the room to get the coffee and find Brent.

Brent put it back down and took a deep breath.

Kelsa sighed, laying back on the bed. They'd hooked up a bunch of stuff up to her.

Trey nodded and sat beside Kelsa.

Jess walked around with a cup of coffee, "Brent?" She said wehn she walked into the waiting room, Brent looked up and then back down, "Huh?" He slurred a little.

Jess handed him the coffee, "Kelsa said she wants you."

Kelsa watched the monoter. Even though she saw the contraction coming she couldn't keep herself from whimpering a little at the pain.

Brent took the coffee and sighed, "Why?" He asked, "She doesn't act liek it..." He took a sip of it.

Jess stood there, "Brent! She is irritable... every women is when their going through this... She wants you there! its your baby!"

Brent stared at her, "Oh..." He closed his eyes a little.

Kelsa panted slightly when the contraction passed. She really wished Brent were there. She really wished he wasn't drunk too but he was. She still wanted him there.

Jess grabbed Brent's arm and pulled him with her back to the room.

Brent stood in the door way, biting his lip.

Kelsa smiled a little when she saw him, "Hey," She said, just loud enough for him to hear, "Sorry for snapping at you."

Brent shrugged a little, then looked down. "I-Its fine."

"You wanna come over here?" she asked, sitting up a little more.

Brent looked down and walked over, biting his lip and took a seat.

Kelsa's eyes a looked a little hurt as she watched him. She wanted him to be excited about their baby.

Brent looked up at her a little, then back at his coffee before taking another sip. "Y-You...O-Okay?" He asked softly, trying not to slurr as much.

"Yeah... well, as okay as I can be while in labor." She tried to laugh a little but she could see another contraction about to hit on the moniter.

He nodded a little an tapped the cup.

She gritted her teeth, holding onto the rail on the bed as the contraction hit.

Brent stared at her wide eyed

Kelsa rested against the bed when it was over, breathing hard.

He looked around a little biting his lip.

Kelsa closed her eyes for a moment before looking over at Brent. "Sorry..." she said softly. "You... don't have to stay if... if you're uncomfortable..."

He shook his head "I-I want to stay."

[Hikari Hoshi]

She bit her lip a little. "Jess, could you get me some ice please?" She asked.

[EmoKidArty]

Jess nodded, Alright, I will be back I guess." She said softly then walked out.

Brent set his glass down and gently took Kelsa's hand.

Kelsa smiled at him a little bit, "I'm really sorry," She murmured. "This wasn't supposed to happy."

Brent blinked at her, but shrugged his shoulders and looked up at the monitor.

Jess came back with some ice.

She closed her eyes, "You don't want to be here." she murmured. She took some ice from Jess and sucked on it.

Brent held her hand still, "Y-Yeah, I d-do want t-to be here!" He told her strnly and took a deep breath.

She looked at him, "You're scared aren't you."

Brent stared at her, "Yeah..." He whispered and then bit his lip.

"Are you scared of me?" She asked softly, "Scared that I'll yell at you again?"

Brent looked into her eyes, "Yeah, and I'm afraid, I mean, your having my baby...."

"I'm really sorry." she said softly, "I didn't mean to shout at you... It just... it just hurts a lot.

Brent nodded a little and looked down aat their hands

She squeezed his hand gently, wishing he'd just forgive her. But he was probably too drunk for that.

Brent rubbed her hand slightly and took a deep breath.

She closed her eyes and squeezed his hand a little harder as a contraction came and went.

Brent bit his lip every time she did.

"Where is the doctor....?" She moaned, leaning towards him a little bit.

Brent shrugged and looked at Jess for help.

Jess nodded and went to go get the doctor.

Kelsa opened her eyes a little to look at her husband. "Are you alright?" she asked softly.

Brent nodded and rubbed her handa little.

Jess came back witht hte doctor.

"Well, this is a surprise." The doctor said, smiling at them, "I guess not thought, considering we've been waiting for this for a week and a half now. How are you feeling Kelsa?"

"I hurt." She said.

Jess took Treys hand and lead him out of the room.

Brent looked up at the doctor, then back down.

The doctor nodded and looked at the charts that came from one of the things she was hooked up to. "Everything seems to be moving along nicely." He said, "Fifteen minutes apart, good. We'll have a baby for Christmas I should say. I'm going to check your dilation now, Kelsa." he put his head under the blanket covering her knees to check.

Kelsa looked away, it felt weird and she didn't like it.

Brent leaned up and kissed her softly, "I-Its...O-Okay..."

She squeezed his hand a little, gently.

"Okay," The doctor said, reemerging, "You're about three centimeters dilated. Not bad, not bad at all. I'll be back to check on you later. If you need me sooner just push the red button."

Brent looked at the doctor, but looked away agian as he smoothed Kelsa's hair back slwoly.

Kelsa nodded as the doctor left, she sighed a little, "Only three... we're going to be here a while."

Trey played with Jess, trying to get her to react.

Brent looked down, "O-oh..." He whispered and looked down, biting his lip, he was trying to get everything through his head.

Jess smacked Trey's hand.

She kissed his cheek gently, "Drink your coffee." she told him. "It'll make you feel better."

Trey looked at her like a kicked puppy.

Brent nodded a little then picked up the coffe and took another sip.

Jess looked at him, then gave him a hug.

"You should drink some water too." she told him quietly, "It will help lessen the hangover."

He hugged her back, "What are we doing here?" he asked, holding her close.

"Waiting for Kelsa to have her baby..." She tol him.

Brent looked up at her, "I-I'm good."

"Oooh, right." he said, "What about the kids?"

Kelsa bit her lip. She shouldn't be here. She should be having fun with him. She should be at home to take care of him when the hang over set in. Hospitals were bad for hangovers.

Brent yawned a little and rubbed her hand. "It will be over soon." He whispered.

Jess looked up at him, "With Victoria and Izzy."

"Sure sure..." she said softly, "Try to sleep okay? it's kind of late."

"Ooooh, okay. So we're alone." He smiled.

Brent shook his head, "No...your having my baby!" He told her.

Jess shook her head, "Yea, I guess."

"Yes, but it'll still be a while. I'll be okay." she told him, "Please, try to sleep? I'm going to try as well if it makes you feel better."

"Good." he said, kissing her gently.

Brent set his drink down, "No." He said refusing.

Kelsa sighed, "Brent, please." she said softly, resting her head back on the pillows.

Brent shook his head again and let go of her hand "You sleep..." He whispered then picked the coffee back up.

She sighed a little, "Please try to sleep." she murmured, closing her eyes.

Brent shook his head again as he qarched her.

She turned on her side faceing him as she tried to sleep. But a few minutes later she was gripping the sheets saying, "Ow ow ow."

Brent helped her on her back.

She whimpered, breathing hard.

Brent kissed her head.

"So much for sleep." She mumbled, her eyes still closed.

"I-Its okay." He said softly, taking her hand

"Why does he have to come now?" She moaned a little, squeezing his hand gently. "I'm so tired..."

Brent bit his lip "You have to stay awake.

"Why?" she whined a little, "This baby's not coming out for a while yet. The doctor said I was only three centimeters. I want to sleep Brent."

Brent blinked, "W-Well...I don't know then..." He shrugged and looked back down, shutting up.

She turned her head to the side, closing her eyes. She drifted after a few moments, only in a very light sleep.

Brent sighed deeply and closed his eyes tightly.

Ten minutes after she'd drifted she woke with another contraction.

Brent jumped and took her hand again.

She squeezed his hand, half trying not to hurt him, half trying to send some of her pain into him.

Brent winced and closed his eyes tightly, shaking his head a little.

Kelsa's hand relaxed as the contraction passed. She closed her eyes again, breathing hard, "Sorry." she murmured.

"I-Its fine..." He whispered and looked up at the monitor.

"I was so close." she murmured sleepily.

"Want...me to get the doctor?" He asked her.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"I don't know what they'll do." she said softly.

"I'll get him." He said pushign the red button.

Kelsa didn't reply. She just wanted some sleep.

A nurse came at the call.

Brent sat there, "Wheres the doctor?" He asked.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Do you need him?" the nurse asked, "I'll go get him." She left quickly and the doctor came a few minutes later.

"How are we doing?" He asked, checking the charts, "That wasn't too long."

Brent looked up at the doctor, then down at Kelsa, taking a deep breath

"I'm tired." Kelsa said softly, "I want to sleep..."

"Well, we can give you something for the pain, but I'm afraid it would slow the labor." The doctor said. "Do you want some morphine?"

Brent huffed a little and put his head in his hands, sighing a little.

[Hikari Hoshi]

Kelsa nodded a little, "Please." she said, "I just want to sleep."
The doctor nodded and put the medicine into her IV.

Brent looked at her, then at the doctor again. "How..slow is it going to be?"

[Hikari Hoshi]

"We'll see." The doctor said, "There's no way to know for sure. Everyone's different. The morphine will help ease the pain for a few hours. Get some rest while you can."

"Thank you." Kelsa said softly.

Brent just wished the baby was born now.

The doctor left and Kelsa closed her eyes again, falling asleep quickly.

Brent took a deep breath and looked down.

The monotor showed the contractions every fifteen minutes, then fourteen minutes then thirteen minutes for the next two hours.

Brent sighed as he held her hand and watched the screen.

Kelsa woke up with a particularly strong contraction.

Brent held her hand tightly.

She squeezed his hand, her eyes shut tight until it was over. She looked at Brent, breathing hard. "S-sorry." she murmured.

"D-DO you want the doctor?" He asked her softly.

[Hikari Hoshi]

She shook her head a little, "How long was I asleep?" She asked, her grip on his hand relaxing.

"I-I don't...' He whispered and rubbed her hand a little.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Did you get some sleep?" she asked, looking at him a little worriedly, "You need to rest."

"No, I didn't." Brent said softly, "No...I don't..."

[Hikari Hoshi]

She sighed deeply, "Please, Brent. Please get some sleep, just try! You'll feel better if you do. But drink water before you do."

"I'm not sleepy Kelsa!" He told her, then looked down shaking his head.

"You're acting like a child Brent!" Kelsa sighed deeply.

"Then! I guess I won't be here!" Brent got up and walked out of the room quickly and took a deep breath

Kelsa watched him go then turned on her side and cried into the pillow. She was alone and in labor and tired and she just wanted to be done with it.

Brent told Jess to go in with her as he walked out the front doors of the hospital and sat there.

Jess got up and left Trey. "Kelsa?"

Trey looked from his wife to his best friend before following his friend.

Kelsa didn't respond, just cried into the pillow.

Jess walked over slowly and rubbed her shoulder, "Its okay..." She whispered.

Brent rubbed his eye a little as he stared at the snow covered ground.

"No it's not..." she cried, "I can't do anything right. He doesn't want to be with me."

Trey walked up beside him, "Hey." he said, "What's up?"

"Everything....I don't...think Kelsa wants me anymore..." He whispered and then glanced up at him, but looked away.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Well..." Trey said, trying to think through the haze of drunkenness. "If I were having a baby I don't think I'd want you either."

"I-I just thought he'd want to sleep a little," Kelsa cried, "I just thought he'd want a little rest but... he doesn't want to be here at all."

Jess shook her head, "thats not true." She said softly, "I know he wants to be here."

Brent glared at Trey, then looked away, "Guess...your right..." He mumbled softy.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Then why did he leave?" She asked, through her tears. "Why did he walk out?"

Trey scratched the back of his head, "Sorry." He said, "I guess I kinda messed that up. What I meant was that she probably doesn't want to have sex with you when she's trying to pop out a baby."

Brent stared hard at him, "I don't want sex Trey..." He blinked at him, then shook his head.

Jess took a deep breath, "I don't know...maybe...he just thought...you were being really mean..."

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Oh... well when you said she doesn't want you I thought... I need coffee..." he mumbled, rubbing his forehead. "Let's not get drunk next year, kay?"

Kelsa started crying again, "I-I don't m-mean to be m-mean!" She cried. "I c-can't help it! I t-try not to be!"

Jess bit her lip "Kelsa...Please calm down; I know what your saying but he isn't understanding any of this because he is drunk..."

Brent rubbed his head and closed his eyes. "Maybe this is just telling me something..."

"Why!?" She cried, "Why does he have to be drunk? Why does is this happening to me? ow!" She squeezed her eyes shut as another contractraction hit.

"You mean like a sign?" Trey asked.

Jess sighed, as she took Kelsa's hand and squeezed it gently.

Brent nodded a little.

Kelsa squeezed her hand back, hard.

"Woah, what kind of sign?!?" Trey asked.

Brent wasn't as drunk as Trey. "That...she doesn't want me around naymore..." he mumbled softly.

Jess bit her lip but held on.

"Nahhhh," Trey said, "She's just having a baby is all. That's stupid. Why would she have your baby if she didn't want you around?"

Brent shrugged a little nad looked down, "I don't know!" He mumbled softly.

Trey shook his head, "Why don't you just ask her?" he asked.

"'cause she yells at me!!" brent said.

"Well, maybe she won't this time." he said.

Brent gave him a look then back down...

Kelsa breathed hard, squeezing Jess's hand, "I-I think we're almost there." She huffed.

brent sighed a little and walked back in.

"C-could you call the doctor?" Kelsa asked, rubbing the side of her stomach.

Trey followed.

Brent shivered a little and walked into the waiting room.

Jess nodded and pushed the red button.

A nurse came and asked what they needed. Kelsa was in the middle of another contraction.

Trey walked close behind him. "Do you get the feeling we should be smoking cigars?" he asked.

Jess looked up at the nurse, "Get the doctor!" She said.

Brent blinked. "NO..."

[Hikari Hoshi]

The nurse nodded and went to get him.

"But that's what they do in movies." Trey said, "The wives go and have a baby and the men pace and smoke cigars."

Jess rubbed Kelsa's hand softly.

Brent rolled his eyes a little.

Kelsa squeezed her hand, "I-I want... my husband..." she half cried.

Trey shrugged and sat down.

Jess bit her lip, then sighed, "I know I know..." She said softly, then closed her eyes.

The doctor came in. "Kelsa, are you just about ready then?" He asked, putting on gloves to check her.

Kelsa nodded, resting back against the pillows. The doctor come back out from under the blanket. "Yup, you're ten. Let's move you to the birthing room."

Jess stood up and held onto Kelsa's hand.

They wheeled her down to the birthing room and set everything up. Kelsa moaned slightly at another contraction.

Jess rubbed Kelsa's hand, her hand hurting a little but she wouldn't say anything to her.

"Brent..." she moaned a little, "God, Brent where are you?"

"Alright Kelsa, whenever your ready." The doctor said, "Pull your knees up to your chest and push."

Brent took a deep breath and stood up. "Do you think I should go find Kelsa?"

Jess shrugged, "I don't know where he is."

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Come on Kelsa anytime now." The doctor said, "Listen to your body, it'll tell you want to do."

"I can't do this Jess, I can't do this without him." Kelsa moaned.

"Mmmm, yeah." Trey said, "That'd be good."

Jess closed her eyes tightly "Please Kelsa, please just do it....you might loose your baby boy f you don't do it now."

Brent sighed heavily and stood up. "I hope she doesn't yell at me..."

"He's been in there for nine months and more, I think he can wait for his father." Kelsa cried, as she grabbed her knees. Her body was screaming at her to push and she couldn't help but comply a little bit.

Trey kept his mouth shut.

Jess took a deep breath and looked at Kelsa.

Brent walked into the room after asking some nurses.

Kelsa was crying a little, her face lit up when she saw her husband, "Brent!" She half cried, "I'm so glad you're here...ah!" Another contraction hit, forcing her to push a little more.

Jess looked up and blinked at Brent.

Brent blinked as he looked, then fainted.

Kelsa moaned and pushed, "Is... he... alright?" she panted.

"He'll be fine," the doctor said, "Just concentrait on pushing that baby out. Someone take care of him."

Jess got up slowly and walked over to Brent.

Kelsa nodded a little pushing more. She could feel a burning sensation as the baby began to crown.

Jess helped brent up even if he was still passed out and set him up on a chair.

Kelsa cried as she pushed the head out. "Brent.... please wake up, baby please."

Jess patted brent on the cheek, then loked up at Kelsa. "I'm trying to get him to wake up.

Kelsa cried a little more as she continued to push with the doctors instruction.

Jess closed her eyes a little and just kept him sitting up straight.

"You're so close, Kelsa, just a little more." The doctor said.

Kelsa cried, holding her knees to her chest as she pushed. "Brent!" She screamed.

Brent jumped and looked around. "Huh!? What!" He blinked.

Jess stared at him, "Now that your awake..." She pointed to Kelsa.

"Here he is!" The doctor said, holding up the baby boy who had begun to cry. "Congratulations, you now have a beautiful baby boy."

Kelsa let her knees go and fell back on the bed, crying still, more with relief now than anything.

Brent looked up at the baby, then back down. He felt horrible about everything now, He really wasn't here to watch him be born..

The doctor put the baby boy on Kelsa's stomach while they got the cord ready to cut. "Brent, would you like to cut the cord?" he asked.

Kelsa held her baby, looking at him through tear filled eyes.

Brent bit his lip. "I..don't want to hurt him..." He whispered softly.

"It's has to get cut one way or another." The doctor said, "Everything's all set, you just have to give it a little snip."

Brent sighed and stood up, then did as he was told.

The doctor smiled, "Very good." he said, taking the baby again, "We'll get him cleaned up and bring him back in no time. Now, um, Ms, why don't you go tell the waiting family there's a new baby boy in here?" he said to Jess.

Jess looked at Kelsa "I will call Victoria and Izzy..." She told her, then walked outof the room.

Brent looked at Kelsa a little. "I'm sorry..." He said softly, "I..."

She looked up at him with watery eyes, "Did you see him?" she asked softly, "Isn't he beautiful? We have our son, Brent, isn't he wonderful?"

Brent nodded, "Yeah I seen him." He whispered. "He is beautiful..."

"You might not want to watch this." The doctor told Brent as he came back and started pushing Kelsa's stomach to birth the placenta.

Brent didn't look 'cause he closed his eyes tightly.

Kelsa screamed a little beacuse it hurt but it was over quickly and the doctor took it away. She closed her eyes when he was gone, resting against the back of the bed.

Brent opened his eyes and sighed softly, "Are...you mad at me?" He aske softly

"No," she said softly, "I'm sorry, I was insensative and I made you miss our son's birth..."

Brent shook his head, "N-No. Its okay." He said softly, then rubbed her hand a little.

"I really wanted you to be here..." she said softly, "I guess we kind of went old school for this one."

Brent shrugged and sat down on the chair. "I-I guess..." He said softly.

"He's so beautiful Brent." She murmured, "Even covered in my slime." She giggled a bit.

Brent made a face at the slim part and shivered.

"Sorry," she said softly, "I forgot it's a bit grosser fr you..."

Brent sighed a little, "Its okay, really." He whispered.

"Are... are you... better?" she asked quietly.

Brent looked at her, "A little." He said softly.

"That's good..." she said softly, "Did you drink some water yet? Or get any sleep? I'm sorry, I know you don't want me nagging you..."

"No." He said simply to everything she just said.

"Oh..." she said softly, looking down. A nurse came in with a blue bundle in her arms, "Would you like to meet your son?" She asked smiling.

Brent sat down in the chair. "My wife would." He said softly.

"Don't you want to hold him?" Kelsa asked, looking at Brent as the nurse brought the baby over.

Brent shrugged, "You can hold him." He said softly.

"Oh... okay..." she said taking her baby boy and holding him close.

Brent smiled a little as he looked at them.

Kelsa held the baby close, touching his little hand gently. "Hey there..." she said softly, "I'm your mommy. You were inside me for a long time... but now you're here... and that makes me really happy."

Brent looked at them as the baby gripped onto her finger softly. "What about a name?" Brent asked.

"Landon...." She said softly, "Unless you want to name him something else!" She added quickly, "He is your son after all, you should get to name him at least."

Brent shook his head alittle, "No, thats a good one." He said softly.

"Alright..." she said softly, "Are you sure?"

Brent nodded, "Yeah I am sure."

"Okay..." she said looking down at her son again. She bit her lip a little, trying not to cry.

Brent rubbed her shoulder gently.

"Y-you know... In olden days, i-if the father didn't h-hold the baby... i-it meant t-the baby was u-unwanted." Kelsa cried softly. "Maybe i-its me that you don't want. And Landon's just being lumped with me."

Brent shook his head, "Kelsa! Stop it..." He whispered, "I want both of you, I really do." He told her softly, "I just wanted you to hold him first before I did." He said softly, "Don't think like that."

"I got to hold him first," she whispered, staring down at Landon.
