Seven years later.......

Corin tapped his foot, waiting for Kora. He was dropping her off on his way to the library and she was taking forever, as always. Ever since his foot ball accident he'd taken more to books, though he still watched the big games with his dad and family and hooted with the rest of them.

Kora finished up her make-up and put on her jeans and red shirt and ran down the stairs and smiled at Corin. "I'm down brother!" She said to him then grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the room.

Corin half ran with her half dragging him, "Ah! Kora, I have a bad knee remember!?" he complained as they went out to his car.

Kora let go of him and got in the car,"Sorry!" She said, she just wanted her coffee.

Corin sighed and got in. He started the car and drove her to her favorite coffee shop. "Am I picking you up or are you getting a ride with Malissia?"

"Kay," he said, stopping infront, "I'll be a couple of hours."

kora nodded a little and got out, then walked into the coffee shop.

Corin drove to the library and went in.

Kora got her coffee and sat down at a table and took a deep breath`

A guy walked in and went to get to the counter. He kept looking at her over his shoulder.

Kora yawned a little then wehn she got everything suituated she took a sip of her coffee.

The guy got his coffee and looked at her once more for a long time before walking over to her, "Hey there." he said, sitting down at her table.

Kora jumped and looked at him, "Hi? Do...I know you?"

"Mm, I should think so." He said smiling, "You're beautiful by the way, just like I imagined. Your hairs a little shorter, you should grow it out."

Kora blinked a few times, "Uh...huh?" She said, then shook her head, "I don't know you...and...." She didn't take compliments very well.

"Oh, Kora, I'm hurt." The guy said, his smile never wavering, "Sure it's been a few years but surely you haven't forgotten me."

Kora gave him a strange look then took a deep breath, "I don't know you and it is final."

"Hmm, maybe this will jog your memory." he said, leaning over and kissing her on the lips.

Kora's eyes went wide and pushed him off her. "No it didn't help..." She looked away and took another sip of her coffee.

He sighed a little bit, standing up, "You know, that shirt would go great with the head band I gave you." He told her.

Kora thought for a moment. "Josh!" Her eyes started to water and hugged him tightly. "I thought I'd never see you again!" She mumbled into his chest and sniffled a little.

He laughed, his voice was much deeper now. "It took you long enough." he said, hugging her back, "I recognized you the moment I saw you."

"You've...changed so much!" She told him softly, and gripped his shrit.

"Yeah, foster care does that to ya." He said softly, "I got moved six months ago to a family ten minutes from here. I was hoping I'd see you again. Did I mention you're beautiful?"

Kora took a deep breath and stared up at him, "Yeah...you did." She said softly.`

He grinned down at her, "Has my kissing improved with my good looks?" He asked teasingly.

Kora nodded, "Yeah, your not as shy anymore either." She said softly.

"I'm not afraid anymore." He said, taking her chin in his hand and bringing her lips up to his.

Kora kissed him softly but passionatly and then pulled away, "You have to come home with me!" She said.

"Will your boyfriend mind?" He asked, "You bringing another boy home?"

"My...Boyfriend?" Kora blinked, "What are you talking about Josh?" She asked.

"Oh come on," Josh said, "You have to have a boyfriend. There's no way you've been waiting for me all these years."

"Well, I don't have one..." She said and crossed her arms when she pulled away.

"Are you suuuure?" he asked, taking a step forward as she pulled away, "You're much to pretty for the boys to leave alone."

"Yeah I am sure." Kora said staring up at him, sighing a little.

"Good." He said, kissing her again, "If you did I'd have to... take care of him..." He grinned teasingly.

Kora shook her head and kissed him back softly "I want to go home now..." She bit her lip, she didn't have a cell phone.

"So, let's go." he said, smiling. "Grab your coffee and we'll be on our way."

"You have a car?" She asked as she grabbed her coffee and looked back at him.

"Yeah, gift from my last family." He said, "Shall we go then?"

She nodded a little. "Alright, I guess." she said and walked out of the coffee shop.

He led her out to his red mustang.

Josh got in the drivers seat and pulled out, "You wanna give me directions?" he asked, "It's been a long time since I went to your house."

He pulled into her driveway and parked.

Trey looked out the window when he heard a car pull into their driveway. "Hey Jess," he called, "Do we know anyone with a red mustang?"

Kora smied and got out slowly.

"Huh... well there's one in our driveway..." he said, "And... Kora's in it..."

Josh smiled and got out after her, walking around to her side.

Jess blinked and went to go look. "I am going to have to beat her ass..." She mumbled.

"She has good taste though." Trey commented, "That's a nice car."

Josh hugged her back, walking up to the door with her. "Damn, this place shrunk I swear."

"I hope so." He smiled, "but if you didn't remember me, what to say they will?" He opened the door and walked in with her.

Jess glared at Trey, then walked over to Kora, "Can I speak with you alone!?"

Kora blinked, "Mom...." She whined as Jess pulled her into the kitchen.

"Ummm, yeah, we met breifly," Josh said, "About seven, eight years ago when I lived here. It was a very short time, I doubt you remember."

Trey's eyes went wide. "Josh?" he asked, "Little, shy, street rat Josh? Is it really you?"

Kora screamed a little, "Mom! That kid is Josh!" She said and walked out and stormed up to her room.

Sean ran down and looked around, "Wheres the fire!" He yelled.

"You've changed a lot!" Trey said, "You look good though."
"Thanks, uh, sorry for dropping in like this, Kora wanted me to stop by and say hi... uh, where did she go... by the way?"
Trey looked around and sighed, "She's probably in her room. He said, "You know where it is right?" Josh nodded and headed up the stairs after her stopping to say hi to Sean.

Kora sighed and plopped on her bed, rubbing her head a little.

Sean blinked, "WAIT WHO ARE YOU!!!" He said chasing him up the stiars.

Jess walked back to the sink to do dishes quietly.

Trey followed his wife, putting his arms aruond her gently.

"Wow, you got big Sean," Josh said as he jogged up the stairs, "I guess you wouldn't remember me, you were real little when I lived here."

Jess didn't say a word, she was just scrubing the plate and taking deep breaths.

Kora sighed a little and looked down.

Sean blinked, "What are you talking about?" He asked, staring up at him.

Josh stopped for a moment and turned to him, "Hi, my name's Josh. I used to live with you guys a long time ago. I'm going to date your sister."

Trey kissed her cheek. "She's okay you know." He said softly, "Shouldn't I be the one freaking out about her bringing a boy home?"

Sean glared at him, "No your not!!" He yelled at him and smacked at his legs. "No your not!!!" he said again and smacked higher.

Jess sighed, "I'm sorry..." She told him softly.

Josh moved so he wouldn't hit his nuts and walked up to Kora's door, knocking three times.

"It's alright," he said softly, "It's kind of a shock isn't it? She's never brought a boy home before... But at least it's Josh and not some drug dealer or pimp or something."

Sean huffed and followed him and kicked him in the shin. "She's mine!" He screamed as loud as he could.

Jess closed her eyes, "I guess, but do you want to go get Sean?"

Kora got up and opened the door, then got Sean and smacked him acrossed the mouth. "Stop it!"

Josh winced a little, "That was harsh." he said. "You didn't have to smack the poor kid."

Trey nodded a little, "I probably should." he said, kissing her cheek again before going up to get his son.

Sean stood his ground but then let the tears get to him, "I hate you Kora! I was just trying to save you!"

Kora crossed her arms, "GO away Sean." She said and pulled Josh into the room with her, "You have no right to hit him..."

Sean screamed and smacked her back as hard as he could and ran to his room.

"Wow, that's a blow to my pride," Josh flashed her a smile, "Having to have my soon-to-be girlfriend protect me from her eleven-year-old brother."

Trey went up and saw Sean run into his room. He knocked on the door. "Buddy, you alright?" he asked.

Kora glared at him. "He is just an annonying brat..." She shut her door and sat on her bed.

Sean walked to the door and rubbed his cheek. "No..." He said softly and hugged him tightly, "All I wanted o do was protect her..." He looked down and sighed.

"Ah, she didn't like that did she?" Trey asked softly, putting his arm around his son. "You have to remember Sean, that even though you thought you were doing the right thing, Kora has her pride too. She doesn't need you to protect her in her own house. Out side, that's a different story. But in here she's safe."

He sat down beside her, "Alright, I won't argue." He said, taking her hand, "So, hows life been for the last seven years?"

Sean looked up at Trey. "Oh..." He said softly then let go and walked to Kora's door. "Kora! Kora!" He said through the door. "I'm sorry!"

Kora looked at the door, "Okay butt munch go away!" Then she turned to Josh and leaned on him, "Crazy..." She said softly, "Really crazy..."

"Really crazy huh," Josh smiled, "Sounds exciting." He put his arm around her shoulders, pulling her a little closer.

Trey smiled a little though it really wasn't funny.

Sean sighed and glared at him and ran back to his room.

"Not really." Kora said.

Trey sighed a little bit and went back down with Jessy.

"How's your granddad?" He asked, rubbing her shoulder. "Is Corin still into football?"

"My Granddad is fine." She said softly and shook her head no, "Corin got hurt in football."

"Oh, that's sad... he really loved it when he was younger. How bad was it?" Josh asked, kissing her head.

"It had to do with his knee or something." She said softly.

"Oh good." Josh breathed an over exagerated sigh of relief. "You had me worried for a moment... "So, you don't date?" he asked.

"Oh..." He said, looking down for a moment then up at her again, "So, how long do I have to wait?"

He smiled, and got down on one knee, taking her hand, "Kora Novak, will you go out with me?"

Kora giggled and looked at him, "Yes." She laughed a little more, "Your not marrying me Josh..."

Josh grinned, kissing her again as he sat beside her again, "Why should I get down on one knee just to propose?"

Sean sighed and wlaked back down.

He took her face gently in his hand, pulling her a little closer as they kissed.

Sean walked over to the door and opened it. "Kora!!!"

Josh had his fingers locked in her hair. When he heard Sean he jumped a little, yanking her hair a bit.

Sean stared at her, blinking. "W-What...are you doing?" He asked and wlaked over a little more. "I just wanted to know if Josh and you wanted to play catch with me, cause Corin isn't home..."

"Sorry, sorry." Josh said, quickly letting go of her hair. He looked over at Sean, his cheeks bright pink.

Kora huffed and backed away from him, "Fine go." She got up and brushed her hair a little to get rid of the knot.

Sean stood there with pleading eyes, "Please Josh."

Josh was at a loss for words. He looked from Kora to Sean then back. "Uh... I should probably... get home..." Josh said, "Kora... can I... have your phone number?"

Sean looked down. "Okay, what about tomorrow Josh?"

Kora picked up her pen then wrote her number down on it and handed it to him and kissed him softly.

He kissed her back, "I'll call you later..." he told her softly. "We'll see." he told Sean. "I might not come over tomorrow, but we'll do it sometime okay?"

"At the library." Trey called back from the kitchen.

Kora sighed and sat down on the bed, looking around nthe room, She was thinking that Sean scared him away.

"He'll be home soon." Trey said. "No more than half an hour or so."

Josh got in his car and started to drive. As he did, he flipped open his phone and called Kora.

Jess listened to them as she did the dishes.

"In his room I think." Trey said.

Kora shook her head a little and then sighed, "Yeah, I know."

Mikey looked up from the book he was holding upside-down. "What Sean?" He asked.

"I'm really glad I found you today," Josh told her, "If I haven't said it already. I still have the picture of you in my wallet."

Kora smiled, "I still have the head band." She told him softly.

"Ooookay." Mikey said, "But I have to practice reading upside-down when we're done."

He smiled, "I'm glad." He said, "Several people have asked if you were my cousin or niece or something. I'm sure if I told them you were my long lost lover they'd think I was a pervert or something."

Kora laughed smiling "So what did you tell them??"

Mikey stood up and ran after him.

"I told them you were a childhood friend," he smiled, "I still got a bunch of weird looks."

Kora smiled still. "Oh wow.' She laughed.

"Because Chris Fulkner can do it," Mikey explained, "And he thinks he's so cool, so I wanna do it just to prove it's not that cool."

"Yeah..." he said, "I had to hide it for a while when I lived in Middleton. My foster parents didn't allow me to keep anything from my old lives. Nothing from my previous home, nothing from my time with you, or my mom."

Sean nodded slightly, "I will beat that kid up!" He said then ran down the stairs and to the background where he grabbed the football quickly. "Mikey! come on!" He said.

Kora sighed, "Why not, thats so stupid." She told josh quickly, "They must of been really bad foster parents.

Mikey ran after him, "Don't do that!" He said, "Daddy says it's bad to hit people!"

"There have been worse." He said, "One family I lived with had seven foster kids just because they got money from the state for everyone they took. They didn't really care what the kids did, they just wanted the money."

Sean shook his head, "Thats not true!" He said, "Get ready!" He said and threw the ball at him, smiling now.

Kora sighed and shook her head a little.

Mikey caught it and threw it back, not as well as Sean.

"I lived with these hippies for a while," he said, "They were entertaining to say the least."

Sean smiled, he played football. He caught it and threw it back at him. "I will if you want me to!"

Kora laughed, "You lived with hippies?"

Mikey shook his head and missed the ball. "Daddy will be mad if you do." He said as he chaced the ball and threw it back.

"Mhm, their names were Treeflower and Montainwing." He said, "They called me Littlebee the entire six months I was with them."

Sean huffed, "I don't care." He said and caught it but dropped it, "You know what, I will do it anyways." He shrugged and threw it back to him.

Kora laughed at the names "Wow." She said softly.

Mike frowned and missed again, "I don't think you should," he said.

"Mhm. They made me sit in their nature garden for an hour with them everyday and 'become one with nautre.'"

Sean stood there, looking at Mikey. "To bad." He said and ran to get the ball.

Kora tried to stop laughing.

Mikey frowned and furrowed his brow, "I don't like it Sean." he said.

Josh laughed with her over the phone. "I'm just about home," he told her, "You should come over soon and meet my curent parents. I got really lucky with the last three. The first was compleatly normal and they had a son who was eighteen at the time. He taught me alot, about girls, mostly. He was a real ladies' man."

"Your not going to change my mind." He stuck his tongue out and threw the ball at him.

Kora stopped laughing "I will try to go over there." She said softly, "I'm not sure though." She smirked, "Is that so Josh??"

Mikey caught it and pouted a bit.

"Yeah," Josh chuckled as he got out of his car. "He was a real cool guy though. Still get e-mails from him every so often. The second family was loaded. I guess they couldn't have kids or didn't want to raise kids or something. They had a huge house and all this stuff though. They gave me my car for my sixteenth birthday."

Kora sighed, "Thats so cool." She said softly.

Josh shut the door to his room as Sarah yelled something at him. "Sorry about that." he told her. "Where were we?"

Kora smiled and looked around her room still. "I don't remember.

"Well, you could have gone to summer camp but you didn't want to." Trey said, "You could have met new people there."

He smiled, looking around his room a little, "Can I see you tomorrow?" he asked.

Mandy was playing with some dolls in her room, then looked up when she heard Mikey.

Sean got his spot on the couch.

"Where would we be going??"

"Mandy! We're gonna watch a movie!" he told her, bouncing a little.

"I'll be right over then." Josh smiled, getting off his bed.

Josh drove to her house and got out to ring the door bell.

"The pond." She said as she walked over and sat down on the edge and stared at the water.
