Tabby screamed and turned holding on around his neck "don't scare me like that..."

He laughed, "Sorry." he said, kissing her nose.

She smiled "its ok.." she said sitting back on her board.

He kissed her again once then looked around, "Where did my board go?"

tabby blinked and looked around "no clue..." she said.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Oh great." Derik said, looking around, the found it and grabbed it.

Tabby sat there waiting for him to come back.

[Hikari Hoshi]

He came back, "Come on!" he said, "The next wave's coming in!"

"ok.." she said going out with him and waited for the wave.

He paddled out and caught the wave.

She followed she was just alittle late and fell off her board.

"Oo." He smiled, "Are you alright?" he asked, jumping off his board.

She came back up and held onto her board "ow..." she whined and looked at him.

He smiled, swimming over to her, "I take that as a 'yes Derik, I'm fine, don't worry about me.'" he laughed.

"yeah yeah..." she said getting back on her board and kissed him alittle.

He kissed her back a little then went for another wave.

She sat this one out and sighed as she sat up against a rock.

He smiled running up to her when the wave came in.

She smiled back and stood up.

"You all done?" he asked.

[articwolf]

"yes I am I don't know about you.." she said.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Eh, I'm done." he said, "But if I'm done I have to put my board away."

"ok same here meet me by the rock?" she asked him as she grabbed her board.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Yeah, If I dont' get dragged in to something." Derik said, as he ran off to put his board away.

Tabby put hers away and walked back over there and waited.

[Hikari Hoshi]

Derik went in and ran into his dad.
"Who were you talking to?" his dad asked.
"Talking to? I wasn't talking to anyone." Derik said.

Tabby sat inbetween the rocks as waves came in.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"I seen you talking to someone over by the rocks." His dad said, "Unless you were talking to the rock."
"I wasn't talking to the rock." Derik said, "I was talking to... a flower."
"A flower?"
"Yup a flower."

Tabby blinked "he is supposed to come back.." she thought.

Mia crawled out looking for them.

"Why were you talking to a flower?" His dad asked.
"I heard talking to plants makes them grow better." Derik said, "And the flower was looking kind of wilty."
"Oh really. Were you kissing the flower too?"

Tabby whined alittle when a big wave put her hair over her face and mia sat on the porch.

Derik turned bright red, "Um no... well, maybe... alright." he sighed, "Yes I was talking to a girl."
"I knew it. Well... what's her name?" His dad asked, "Where is she from what's she doing on the beach?"
"She lives in the beach house... half a mile up the beach..." He lied, "Her name's Tiffany (XD)"

Tabby sighed and waited.

Mia heard them and blinked.

"Alright, just don't get to serious with this girl." His dad said, "You know we're only here for the summer."
"I know dad." he said.

Tabby got tired of waiting and walked onto the porch and went in and changed her parents came back and put food away.

Mia looked around for derik and wanted to give him something.

Derik went back out, looking around for Tabby.

Mia walked over to derik and poked him.

Tabby was still changing ...

Derik looked down and smiled, "Hey squirt."

"here" she said handing him a peice of papper that said 'I love you' or somewhat anyways.

Tabby came out and loekd at them and smiled./

"Aw, thanks." he said, looking at the piece of paper. Since she was four, she couldn't write so he didn't know what it said.

She smiled and looked up at him.

Tabby giggled alittle and thought it was a picture witch it did look like.

"I'll put it on my wall." he said, folding it carefully and putting it in his pocket, "Where's your sister?"

She pointed to tabby who was looking at the water.

"Thanks kiddo." he said, ruffling her hair as he went over to Tabby.

Mia giggled and ran after him.

Tabby smiled at derik "hey."

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Hey." He said, "I gots some bad news."

"what is it?" she asked him confused.

Mia stopped and blinked

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Well, my dad saw me talking to you." He said, "He didn't see you. But he knew I was talking to someone... and kissing someone..."

"I am sorry" tabby said to him then sighed.

Mia blinked and looked at them she tried to pull him away by his shirt.

"Not now Mia." he said, softly, "I lied to him. I told him I was talking to Tiffany from up the beach."

"nice.." she said luaghing alittle "well my parents are in there so shh" she said.

Mia sighed and sat down in the sand and pouted.

"Alright." he kissed her cheek, "I gotta go."

"bye" she smiled and walked back in.

"deri!" she said running after him.

Derik started to walk away then turned, "I'll be back kiddo." he said.

She nodded and sat down again.

Tabby walked back out and sat on the rocks.

Derik went in and watched TV.

Tabby sighed "I hate not seeing him the whole school year.." she said to herself.

Mia went in and took a nap.

Derik fell asleep infront of the tv

Tabby got down and fell asleep also.

Tabby looked around "derik?" she called out hoping they wouldn't hear her.

"Yeah, just let me get my board!" Derik called back. he had left it out on purpos.

She ran over to him "derik i'm moving..." she said to him/

"You're moving? Where?" he asked, "Are you still coming back here next summer?"

"yay we are and I don't know where...so don't try calling the home phone I gave you ok..." she said looking at him.

He nodded a little, a sober look on his face, "Alright." he said, hugging her.

She hugged him back "well see you next summer...?" she asked him as they let go.

"Yeah, see you." he said, kissing her softly.

She kissed him back and then walked away about to cry..

He sighed a little, grabbing his board and going to the car.

she grabbed her stuff and put it in the car she already went school shopping and stuff so they were going to the new house.

They went home. Derik was silent the whole way.

Same with tabby and they had most of the furniture in there becuase they had people do it for them and she set the bags on the bed.

Derik fell asleep as soon as they got home.

"Wake up Derik." His mom shook him awake, "Don't wanna be late for your first day of school."
"Says who?" he asked groggaly, rolling over.

"tabby wake up.." her dad said and she rolled off her bed "ow but i don't want to I wanna go to my old one!" she said "just get up!" she chnaged and grabbed her lunch and back pack.

Derik showered and dressed before grabbing his bag and riding his motorcycle to school.

"bye.." she whined and walked out she made it to school and all the guys hovered around her.

"Hey man." Derik's best friend Mike said when he got to his locker, "Did you hear about the new girl?"
"No." Derik said, "What about her?"
"Well, rumar says she's a real hottie." Mike grinned, "Come on, we should check her out."
"Fine." he said, his mind still on Tabby.

"no go away!" she screamed at a guy that was trying to touch her "go away leave me alone!" she said looking at all the guys.

Mike and Derik made there way, trying to see over the crowd. Derik's eyes got wide, "Tabby?"
"You know here?" Mike asked.
"Yeah, she's my girlfriend." Derik said, makingh is way toward her.
"Wait, What?"
"Tabby!" He called.

"derik?" she said looking around "don't touch me there you jerk!" she slapped the guy and everyone backed away.

Derik finally got through the wall of guys and hugged Tabby tightly, "What are you doing here?" he asked, finally letting her go.

"well I moved here..." she said looking at him "I didn't know I was moving to your town.." Tabby smiled.

He grinned, kissing her to let all the other guys know she was his. "This is great!" he said, "Now you can meet my band."

Tabby smiled "yay!" she said looking around at the guys that touched her.

The guys left disappointed. Mike came over to them. "What's the big idea?" He asked, "You run off and kiss the new girl and don't even wait for your best friend?"
"Sorry." Derik shrugged, "Tabby, this is Mike. He's my best friend and the lead singer in 'Midsummers Nights.'"

"cool" she smiled and looked at mike hoping he wasn't like everyone else "and mike i'm Tabby... not new girl..." she laughed alittle.

"Well duh." Mike said, "I can't very well call you by your name if I don't know it."

Tabby nodded alittle and took derik's hand and leaned against him.

He kissed her head gently, "Where's your locker?" he asked.

"ummm where ever 124 is.." she said looking around.

"Come on." He said, "I'll take you there." he lead her to her locker.

Tabby smiled and looked at the locker "where is yours?" she asked.

"Just down the hall." He said, "266."

"oh ok" she smiled and opened her locker putting her stuff in abd leaned against the locker "so I wonder if I have any classes with you..."

"You might." he said, "What classes do you have?"

"well science, math, history, gym,art,music" she said looking at him.

[Hikari Hoshi]

He shook his head, "That doesn't tell me anything."

[articwolf]

"thats the order what do you want to know?" she asked him.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"What english, what math what history." Derik said, "I'm taking Medevil History, Algebra 2, English 11, and Biology."

[articwolf]

"oh right.." she said looking at her thing "well I have medevil history...umm algebra 1.. english 11 and life science..." and said.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Life science?" Derik asked, "I didn't know there was a class called life science."

"umm yay...or is that just regular science?" she couldn't read it.

He shrugged, "Why are you still in algebra 1?"

She shrugged "ask my mom.." she said looking around.

"Shouldn't you have taken that last year... or the year before?" he asked.

[articwolf]

"i almost failed it last year she is making me take it again.." tabby said looking at him now.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"If you didn't fail it you shouldn't have to take it again." Derik said.

[articwolf]

"I know do you think I could change my thing?" she asked him.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Of course." Derik said, "Just go to the office and tell them you need Geomitry instead."

[articwolf]

"thanks.." she looked around "where is the office?" she said.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"This way." he said, leading her to the main office.

"thanks" she smiled and walked into the office "can I change my algebra 1 to 2?" she asked them.

"Sure." The secritary said, "We'll tell the teacher you're coming."

"ok thank you" she smiled and walked out looking for derik.

Derik was waiting for her in the hall.

"I got algebra 2!" she said to him smiling.

[Hikari Hoshi]

He frowned, "And you barrely passed algebra 1?" he asked.

[articwolf]

"umm no.." she said looking at him "well I dunno... " she sighed and continued to walk looking for her next class.

He took her to her next class then went to his.

Tabby sat in her class then had to intruduce her self and she sighed "i'm tabby and I moved from cali" she said and sat back down.

"Where's that?" One kid asked.

[articwolf]

"Ca Caliafornia!" she said looking at him then liad her head down.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"We're in California." The kid replied, "We're in Tracy CA."

'why me!' she thought and sighed "its like a 5 hour drive away.." she said trying to ignore the kid.

The kids laughed a little.

Tabby sighed and looked around getting up and walking out "gosh I don't like kids I don't want to tell them" she sat in the hallway.

Derik met her in the hall.

She smiled at derik "hey" she said looking into the class.

"Hey." he said, "How was your first class?"

"horrible!" she said sighing.

"Aw, sorry." He said, kissing her softly.

She kissed him back "I made like a fool out of myself.."

"Aw, well, I'm sure it wasn't that bad." he said, sitting down in the next class.

She shook her head and walked into the same class.

The teacher started the lesson and Derik took notes.

Tabby kept watching what the teacher was doing and raised her hand.

"Yes... Tabby?" the teacher asked.

"I don't have a book or anything yet.." she said putting her hand down and looked around.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"I haven't passed out the books yet." The teacher said.

"oh right.." she put her head down and sighed.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Please keep your head up." The teacher said before continueing her talk.

Tabby rolled her eyes and sat up.

Derik met her in the hall again when that class was over.

Tabby sighed when she walked back out to him.

"Having a bad day?" he asked.

[articwolf]

"yes and it is my first day" she sighed and looked around.

"I know." he said, "It'll get better."

"you sure?" she asked him .

"yeah." he said, "Come on, It's lunch time."

She nodded and followed him.

They got to the front of the line and Derik got what he always got.

It was her turn "I will have the same thing he is having"

He smiled a little bit. The lunch ladies were really nice.

She grabbed her lunch and follow derik.

Derik sat at the same table he and his band always did. Mike and another guy were already there. "Hey Derik, who's your girlfriend?" the other guy asked when the sat down. "Tabby, this is Chad." Derik said, "He plays bass."

"cool" she smiled sitting next to him "nice to meet you chad"

"Nice to meet you too." Chad said, looking her over. Derik saw him and threw an orange at him.

Tabby was looking at her food and when she seen tyhat she giggled alittle.

Derik smiled at her, picking up his fork.

Tabby started to eat watching mike and chad.

"Don't forget Derik," Mike said, "We have practice after school at Danny's."

Tabby poked him "can I come listen to you?" she asked.

Derik smiled, "Mhm." he said, kissing her cheek, "Of course. Right guys?"
"Oh yeah!" Mike grinned, "You can be a groupy!!"

Tabby giggled alittle more "thanks" she smiled at them.

Chad just nodded.
Derik smiled as he ate his foods.

Tabby stopped and started to eat now.

Derik finished and threw his stuff away. They still had a few minutes left.

"derik do you want the rest of mine?" she asked him.

"Why don't you?" he asked, taking her tray.

"i'm not all that hungry.." she said putting her head down on he table.

He frowned a little bit then shrugged, "Alright." he said, "But you'll need you energy to get through the school day."

"I know i'm ine right now..." she smiled.

"Right now..." He said, "But not by the end of the day." he kissed her cheek.

"true.." she said pulling her tray back "you can have half..."

He laughed a little kissing her cheek, "Thanks babe." He said.

She smiled and started to eat the half.

He just watched her incase she wanted to whole thing.

"i'm full" she said handing the tray to him.

He smiled. "Alright." he said, nipping her neck a little before eating.

She giggled and turned her neck so he couldn't.

He chuckled a little and finished her food as the bell rang.

She sighed and at least she had the same classes.

He kissed her softly, "I'll see you in class he told her." Going to his locker to get some books.

She nodded and went to class sitting down.

He came in and sat down beside her.

The teacher came in and explained the class to them.

Tabby sighed alittle listening to her.

At the end of that class Derik took her to the last class of the day.

Derik kissed her softly when all the classes were over.

"so where are we going now?" she asked him.

"Danny's house." He told her.

"oh.." she said looking around.

"Come on," He said, "I'll give you a ride."

She nodded and followed him.

He lead her out to his motorcycle and handed her a spare helmet.

She put it on "good thing i'm not wearing a skirt..."

"Mhm." he said, mounting his bike.

She Got on holding onto him.

He drove to Danny's house. There was some noise coming from the gerage.

Tabby got off and put the helmet on the bike looking around.

Derik took her hand and led her inside. There Mike was, testing the mic. Chad was tuning his guitar and Danny, a girl with long blond hair was fiddling with a key board.

Tabby sat in the back watching everyone.

Derik sat down at the drum kit and pulled his drum sticks out of his bag, twirling one with his fingers.

Tabby watched them and looked down.

Once they were all set up they began, "One, two, one two three go!" Derik called starting the beat. the others fell into place as they started singing their newest song.

Tabby smiled watching derik and mike and sometimes chad.

They finished the song and Derik smiled at her, "Whatta ya think?" he asked.

"its awsome!" She smiled at them all.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"We're still working out little timing glitches." Danny said, fiddling with somethings on the key board, "Do you think it would sound better with a regular piano sound rather than an electric?"

Tabby thought for a minute "its fine how it is.."

[Hikari Hoshi]

She nodded, "Alright, let's go once more and this time, Chad, try D, C, Eflat instead of C, D, C. I think that'll sound better."

Tabby sat back watching them again.

When they finished Derik smiled at her. "Alright, let's try 'My Heart Always' He said counting out the beats.

Tabby smiled and kept an eye on derik.

Derik kept his eyes on her. He knew the song well enough.

Tabby smirked alittle as she watched him.

They practiced a few more songs before they were done and put the stuff away, "What did you think?" Derik asked, putting his arm around her.

"it was awsome..." she smiled and put her hand in his free one.

He smiled, "Glad you like it." he said, "We're playing at a club friday night. Would you wanna come?"

"yay" she smiled "oh derik mia has been wanting to see you..." she said.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Oh?" He asked, "How is the little squirt doing anyway?"

"good" Tabby said smiling and kissed his cheek..

"mm she is getting used to it "wanna see it? my parents aren't home..." tabby smiled.

He smiled and kissed her softly, "Kay." he said, "I'd love to."

"ok lets go" she said taking his hand and walked over to the motorcycle.

He smiled and said bye to his band before hopping on his bike with her.

Tabby waved to them and held onto him by the waist and kissed the back of his neck befire they went.

He grinned a little, "tell me where to go."

"ok you just go to 2nd ave. and then I will tell you where from then.

"Okay," he said, following her directions.

Tabby looked at him once they got there "now go left" she said and then if he did they were at her house.

He nodded and turned left.

"stop" she giggled and when he did she jumped off and waited for him.

He parked the bike and got off, "So this is your house." he said, looking up at it.

"yay" she said taking his hand and nodded to the baby sitter to leave and she did.

Mia's eyes widened "deri!" she screamed.

He grinned, "Hey squirt." He said.

Mia ran over and hugged him kissing his cheek.

Tabby laughed alittle and waited.

He hugged her back and ruffled her hair, "Hey, how do you like your new house?" he asked.

"its big" she giggled and ran over to the couch.

Tabby smiled and walked over to him kissing him.

He smiled, standing up and kissing her softly, "Wanna show me?" he asked, grinning a little.
