It can be now. I was just thinking about a movie that is kind of like this and that was were the time period thing came from. It can be modern though if you want. :D

Summer walked down the long dirt path leading to the park. She was humming a tune, nothing particular, but something sad. She stared down at the end of the trail and sighed. The park wasn't a kids park. It was a teen park, where couples and just regular teens go to hang out. She stopped and noticed that she had forgoten her cell phone to call Varg.
"Damn it.." she mumbled, and continued walking.

Varg had just showered and was staring into the mirror. Not vainly, just staring. Euphorically. Then finally he snapped out of it and looked at the time. Summer was meant to have called him to plan the nights activities. He needed a happy ending tonight, badly. He looked at the time again "Where is that B*tch??" he thought to himself. "If she stands me up....And I don't have that much money!" Every minute Varg got more impatient...

Home wasn't that far was it?? Or did she have enough change for the pay phone around the corner? She dug into her pockets and dug out a quarter.
"At least something good happend.." she sighed and ran around to the pay phone. She sunk the quarter through the hole and dialed his number. She knew he wasn't going to be pleased. She knew he didn't like it if she was late, or late calling.
