Abandon walked down the street, worn backpack slung over her shoulder. She passed a hotdog vendor, and her mouth watered. She was extremely hungry, but she turned her face away and kept walking.

Abby noticed a girl walking by. She waited until the girl had passed, before deciding to walk to school. Another day of people staring at her oddly colored eyes and whispering behind her back. Another day of going hungry. Her father had left her and her mother two years ago and ever since, her mother had been doing odd jobs for people, barely managing to pay the rent, let alone manage to feed the two of them.

Lost in her thoughts, she bumped into a guy and his friends. Before she could apologise and go around them, he snapped, "Watch where you're going, freak!" He shoved her down onto the sidewalk and walked off. Abby merely sighed and stood, brushing herself off. For a minute she forgot why she was even outside. What was I doung again? Oh that's right, she realized, I'm going to school. She continued on her way.

Abby reached her homeroom and took her seat in the back, where she hoped no one would talk to her. She glanced over at Lea. There was definitely something strange about that girl. A girl named Kara approached her desk. "Hey, Abby," Abby ignored her. "Where's you get that dishrag? Oh, wait - that's your top! It's so hard to tell the difference." Kara giggled insanely and walked off to join her overly-skinny ditzo friends. Well, Abby was overly-skinny too, but not because she wanted to starve herself.

Lea watched Abby come in and sit at the back of the class. She felt sorry for her sometimes, but the war was time consuming. Demons weren't supposed to get attached to humans anyway, but what's the harm, just this once? "Hey Abby, Do you want to hang out after school? I have some things to pick up, but then we can go do something." She wouldn't be in danger when Lea went to pick up her new weapons, with those eyes who would think she's human?

Abby was in her last class, as well. Science was pure joy. She was concentrating on pouring 35 cc's of alchohol into a graduated cylander when the bell rang. She sighed and put her things away, wondering why the school wouldn't let students use chemicals that actually did something when you mixed them.

Abby is thrown forward in her seat and banged her head on the door handle as the car stopped. Her seatbelt caught her but knocked the wind out of her. "Oomph!" She sat back, catching her breath. She glanced at the car door, where there was a little of her blood. She felt the spot on her head where she had been hit, but she felt no wound, just a smear of blood where it had healed instantaneously. She hadn't even felt her head collide with the door. It was times like this that Abby was glad she couldn't feel pain.
