Asphodel (Asphodelus Ramosus):
translation: asphodelos, the Greek flower that bloomed in the afterlife, sceptre; branched.
synonyms: White Asphodel, Asphodele Rameux, Royal Staff, Branched Asphodel, King's Spear.
definition: remembered beyond the tomb; my regrets follow you to the grave; mourning.
The ancients planted asphodel near tombs, as they were regarded as the favoured food of the dead, as mentioned in many poems. There were also superstitions surrounding asphodels, that they potended death for the sick, as they were the plant that filled the plains of Hades.

(Been here less then a week and already starting a roleplay? My my, Wraythy is a pretentious one...)

~Rules~
Please have a somewhat developed sense of the english language.
Do not be a git, is you have something to say, do so with a degree of civility.
Please no unecessarily cliche characters.
No angst, I beg you.
And last but not least, please feel free to discard Wrayth's over-attuned fussiness, as it will serve only as an annoyance most times, and is not to be taken very seriously.

The setting is semi modern and in a large city, at night of course, so everyone feels welcome.

Please send me a message if you feel like joining for whatever reason.

~W

What do you mean by "cliche characters"?

((Ah my apologies, I oft forget to specify... By 'cliche' I mean the depressing vampyre/lycanthrope wearing black on black on black. The over-used stereotypes.))

((Awesome, I'm writing an introduction now, so it may take a little while, heh.))

Most would, when writing an observation of any sort, take time first to describe the environment.
Suffice then, to say it was dark. A customary condition for any time after moonrise.
There was also a very light breeze, stirring up the occasional whirl of leaves across the cobblestones. Concentration is at this point however, not meant for leaves, nor cobblestones, but for the two figures standing silhouetted on a rooftop. Not an extremely smart place to stand if one wishes to keep hidden, but perhaps these people did not.
Upon closer inspection, one of the characters was a woman of slightly above-average height. Her outfit, criss-crossed with ribbons in varying shades of pink and purple, accentuated slightly the fact that she was indeed female. Her hair colour was not quite discernable, obscured by a piece of cloth wrapped in the manner of a bandana around her head. There was a curious clinking sound as she moved, serving to eminate from a chain linked to her wrists.
A chain is perhaps an odd thing to see someone linked to normally, but this was a little different, for unusually-shaped blades were fastened tightly at regular intervals. Identifying the steel chain and cuffs as a weapon, and not a tether.
Behind the woman stood a shorter creature, a little more in shadow. eyes hidden by the brim of a top-hat. His attire,(though one could not surely say 'his') was that associated with a magician perhaps, quite odd for the time, though considering his company, he could not be put entirely to fault. He held no weapon, or anything at all in fact, but a creaking, clicking sound could be heard quietly spinning on, almost like clockwork gears.
Despite all oddities, these two people could only be identified as truly unhuman by their skin, porcalain, perfectly smooth and white. Marred only by the magician's crimson lips, and a symbol tatooed beneath the woman's left eye.
"Raise the curtains, light the stage, and let the show begin." The doll-faced woman said in a soft singsong voice, gripping the chain with an eery smile as she made her way to the ground, climbing with unnatural agility to the ground below. Her partner said nothing, melting entirely into the surrounding darkness. Perhaps to find a more convenient way back to street-level.

((A hastily written introduction, not quite my best I fear, haha.))

((Wow, that's a lot of writing))
Naomi walked down the empty street of the city. She shivered as she felt a cold eddy wrap itself around her and pulled her trench tighter around her. She sighed as she looked up at the moon, "Why am I out here at this hour?" she asked herself.
She sighed and began to walk again, "Its too quiet," she whispered.

The aforementioned woman was by now walking sedatedly along a rail that lined the street, balancing with apparent ease and swinging her blade-chain to and fro. She hummed to herself as she did this, before saying loudly to no one visible: "Neutrals are scarce, our lord shall not be pleased if another gets away." Again, she spoke trillingly, perhaps to her companion? The words did not fit the crooked grin alighting her face. It was quite easy to assume that the woman was completely mad, and probably accurate actually...

Naomi stopped and sniffed the air, flicking a forked tongue. She could smell two people near by, they weren't human. She growled.

The woman stopped, a faint sound having caught her attention.
"Whoops."
She said in a girlish whisper, leaping off her precarious perch and landing quietly. The chain clattered with a silvery sound as she wrapped it around her pale hands, creeping forward at a slower pace.

Naomi walked, following the scent. She growled lowly as she smelt the scent get stronger.

She straightened up with a rather disusted expression.
"Well this is getting nowhere..."
In a slightly louder voice, and with her hands behind her back in an unconvincing stature of innocence, she said:
"Hullo you! Whoever you are!"
The words rang harshly off the all-too-silent buildings.

lNaomi heard and growled, "Mind steppin out the darkness so I can see you?" she asked, flicking her forked tongue. She sniffed again.

With a dramatic spin and cape-twirl (Which would have worked better had she been wearing a cape.) the woman strutted into the moonlit street, bowing elegantly and grinning up at the girl opposite her.
"Much obliged, love."
She said in flippant tones.

((Ick, getting offline now, will be on later to-day.))

She straightened again, appearing to think about the question. After a moment she smiled, unlinking her her hands and allowing the chain to fall loose behind her back.
"Devout servant to my lord and lady, collector of lives,"
Another silence.
"Dollface."
She said finally and happily.

"Naturally."
She replied.
"The name given to me by my creator."
The ecclectic woman did a sort of warped pirhouette and came to rest lightly leaning against the railing again. A crooked smile still painted fixedly on her face.

((Well...
This seemeth to me most thoroughly dead... Joy.
I, lifeless sop that I am, will still be haunting it though, so if anyone wants to revive me poor roleplay, do let me know, won't you?))

Naomi sighed and turned, "I'm leaving, it was a pleasure to meet you." She began to walk down the empty street again.

Dollface's smile changed a little, growing colder suddenly. She spun her blade chain outwards to hit the ground with an ominous clatter.
"You aren't paying attention."
She said, the singsong quality of her voice now gone.
"I said I was a collector of lives..."

((Yay, the thread isn't dead... I rhymned.))

Head tilted slightly to one side, Dollface seemed to be considering options.
~Our lord would not care either way if I kill the brat...~
She wrapped the chain absently around her arm.
~But that'll be no fun.~
"Fair enough, milady."
She said quite simply. Leaning against a brick wall, and closing her empty eyes with a shrug.
