Love and War
Chapter 1
The shrine
Long long ago there was a priestess in Japan name Mikami.
Mikami wasn’t a normal prissiest she had held the spirit of the Goddess, Avos. Mikami fought and defeated many demons to protect her village until a demon named Akio found out that Mikami was invisible, so he took a permanent form of a human to defeat Mikami. Many times he tried to kill her but he found himself falling more and more in love with her. Her beauty was irresistible compared to any other maiden in all the villages.
Mikami approached him when he was sitting underneath a tree. The rays of light shining through the leaves made his face glow as if he was a angel from heaven. She approached Akio not as an a enemy but as a companion. She told him that there is no point to these nonstop battles because she too also loved him. Akio eyes widened. He stood up and looked at her beautiful green eyes that looked like stained glass.
He hugged her saying, “Mikami I have loved you from a distance. My love for you is a on burning fire in my heart.” From that day they were lovers and planned to be with each other as mates.
One day Akio’s older brother, Yuhi, paid a visit to his little brother.
Yuhi greeted him, “Hello little brother. I see that you have betrayed me and saw something in the pest you call Mikami.”
Akio got furious and attacked his brother with all his might. Yuhi was attempted to kill his little brother but he thought he can destroy Mikami with his brother’s body. He took spirit form and took over his younger brother’s body.
Yuhi looked at a near by mirror and said, “Foolish little brother prepare to kill the one you love with your bare hands.”
Yuhi forged war in Japan. Spreading blood shed to every village there was. All the villagers warned Mikami that some demon was taking war upon them. As soon as they told her she took battle form. Ready and prepared for battle Mikami went out side and saw that it was her beloved Akio. She wanted to cry but she held back her tears so the villagers could see that she was strong hearted. She had planed to use The Power of Deios to destroy on both her and Akio.
She held Akio from behind and chanted, “Oh Goddess of Love and War, please grant me The Power of Deios to destroy our enemy to make peace on earth.”
Mikami had disappeared and another girl had taken her place. It was Avos, Goddess of Love and War. Avos had lifted Akio up in the air and then a huge explosion of light and smoke came out of nowhere. Before anyone knew it they were nothing but the bones of the priestess and her dearly beloved Akio. What Mikami didn’t know before she sacrificed herself was that Akio’s brother was in spirit form and token over Akio’s body, so after his spirit still lived. Out of respect they made a shrine for the couple and buried there bones in an empty well in the shrine.
A couple of hundred years has passed by and Mikami and Akio were reborn. Mikami was born into the Kotabuki family and Akio was born into the Shama family. They are now know as Michelle and Andy. And this is how there crazy journey starts.
“Michelle you’re going to be late for school!” Michelle’s mother yelled up the stair case.
Michelle opened her eyes and looked at the clock right next to her bed, it said 8:00am.
Michelle fell out of bed screaming, “AHHHHH!!!! OH MY GOSH! I’M GOING TO BE LATE!” Michelle rapidly ran all over her room trying to find her school uniform until she tripped over her text book and found her uniform underneath her bed. Once she got herself quickly organized and dressed she rushed down the stairs and out the door.
Michelle’s grandpa yelled out the door, “Wait! You forgot your lunch!”
Michelle was too far away to hear what her grandpa had to say. Michelle made it to school right before the bell rang. After class she got together with her best friend Andy.
Andy asked, “Are we going to check out that old shrine that your family owns?”
Michelle replied, “Of course we are…….Silly.”
“OK, then I’ll meet you in the front of the school after our school day is done,”
Andy said with a gentle smile. Michelle blushed and nodded her head. Marie, Michelle other best friend, ran up to her and jumped on Michelle’s back, making both of them fall.
“Ow! Marie what did you do that for?” Michelle questioned Marie.
Marie said with a big grin, “I saw you blushing at Andy. Soooo what did he say?”
Michelle rolled her eyes, “I told you that I don’t like Andy in that kind of way. Besides he will never like a girl like me.”
Marie told Michelle that she will eventually find out the truth and that she had to go to class.
The last bell had rung and all of the students rushed out side for freedom. Like what Andy told her, Michelle walked out to the front of the school to see if he was there. He was! Michelle saw him right there talking to some his guy friend cracking up jokes. One of Andy’s friends pointed out that Michelle was five feet behind him. Andy turned around to she if it were true or were his friend was pulling a stupid joke. Michelle gazed at him while he turned, just looking at his nicely cut brown hair and his eye-catching sky blue eyes.
“Michelle are you ready to go?” Andy asked.
Michelle was shaking her head so she can stop daydreaming, “Um……..yes! Lets go!”
She grabbed his hand really fast and pulled him away from his group of friends trying not to make eye contact. Andy and Michelle had arrived at the old shrine. “Come on in! There is a really neat empty well inside,” Michelle said while opening the creepy looking doors to the shrine.
Andy entered the shrine with Michelle. Dust flew every where when the walked in the shrine.
“Oh! Here it is!” Michelle bend over the well.
“Uh……Michelle be careful. You don’t want to fall in,” Andy said with a very concerned face.
Unexpectedly Michelle felt a strong force pulling her in. She yelled, “Andy! Help me, something is pulling me in!”
Andy grabbed the back of her uniform shirt, he lost his grip of the shirt and grabbed her hand before she fell in. The force was too strong so it sucked them in and swallowed them whole. They thought they fell at the bottom of the well, but they heard people out side the shrine and it didn’t sound like Michelle’s family. Michelle tried to get up but she had twisted her ankle. She screamed in pain. Andy helped Michelle out of the well by carrying her on his back and trying to climb up the well at the same time. He hoped out of the well and set Michelle very carefully on the side of the well. Andy slowly opened the doors to the shrine and he saw a village. He twitched his right eye.
“What’s wrong?” Michelle scared fully asked.
Andy turned around immediately and said, “Where are we Michelle?”
Michelle’s eyes widen, “What do you mean?”
Andy picked up Michelle, “Have a look for yourself.”
“I-I don’t understand. Where are we?” Michelle said while confusingly observing where they are.
All the villagers stared at them. You can hear them snickering and whispering about their clothes. Michelle told Andy to let her down. She limped her way out of the shrine doors.
“Maybe we should ask someone for help,” Andy suggested.
Andy helped Michelle walk to the nearest hut in the village.
As they were walking closer and closer to the hut an old man came out of the hut greeting them with a kind smile.
The kind old man said, “Hello strangers. Ye not from around here are ye?”
Andy replied, “No we’re not. Can you help us we don’t know where we are?”
“Yes. Ye in the Suzaku village,” he said still smiling.
Michelle paused for a second then looked at the old man saying, “What time are we in?”
The old man looked confused, “Ye are in the feudal era of course.”
Andy and Michelle looked at each other with a worried look on their face. The old man interrupted the long stair, “Young lady ye look like the priestess that used to live in this village.”
“I do?” Michelle said with a shocked face.
“And young man ye looked like the priestess’ husband,” The old man continued.
Michelle and Andy looked at each other once again only blushing, then turned their head around right away.
“Are ye the reincarnated Mikami and Akio?” The old man asked, “the guardians of Akio and Mikami for told that they would return to save use,” he continued with joy.
“Guardians?” Michelle said disturbingly, “we have guardians?”
The old man smiled again, “Ye’s guardians had taken human form to warn us that Yuhi will be returning to destroy us all.”
“Who is Yuhi?” Andy questioned.
The old man continued, “Yuhi is ye’s brother.”
“Wait I’m confused. Why are we here in the first place?” Michelle asked in a impatient voice.
The old man sighed in hopelessness, “Maybe ye’s guardians can explain it better than I. Come with me I know ye’s guardians are at.”
