Okay the storyline is very simple, a human/vampire girl is given to a vampire guy as his pet ((Which is just another way of calling her a slave)). It starts when she's first given to him and goes from there, but from that point on we just make it up as we go along.

All I request is NO CHATSPEAK PLEASE! A little bit of literacy is nice to, but you don't have to make foever long posts. That's all I request so here's the character profile template.

Personality: Rather introverted and doesn't trust others easily. Hates being a slave and hopes to one day escape her life as one. Can be loving and friendly when she chooses to but that's rare in itself.
Bio: Kyla's been a slave her entire life, but she's never had a master until now. She was actually picked out by another of her new master's servants, since they thought that she'd be the perfect 'pet' for him.

Race: Vampire
Personality: He is nice and easy to get along with. He sometimes can be rude but doesn't mean to. All in all he is a nice guy.
Bio: ((Doesn't have to be detailed)) He lived in a small village, then moved away. He was turned on his 22nd birthday and left to fend for himself. He has made a good reputation of himself, and learned alot in the world of business. He owns his own club in the big city, and an art gallery.

"Damn cages! Just when you think you're done with the cursed things." Growled Kyla to herself as she sat in her rather small makeshift cage. She could have attempted to escape if she wanted to, but it didn't help that she'd been chained by the neck to one of the cage bars. How'd she get here you ask? Well seems that some rich looking guy had walked up and asked about buying her for someone else, and now here she was being carted off to who knew where. Which did not put her in a good mood that was for sure, but there wasn't much she could do about that at this point cause like it or not she wasn't getting out anytime soon.

His finger tapped to the beat of the music thrumming through the walls of his office. " When will she arrive, I would like to have everything ready before she comes?" he asks the man on the other end. " She should be ariving around seven o'clock sir" Cole could hear the mans voice hush now, " she doesn't seem to happy by the way, you might have troubles with her." Cole just shook his head, " give me a ring when you arrive at the club." He hung up the phone, and left the office. Walking across the hall he looked around at the room. he called for one of the workers, " could you tidy the room up before she arrives please?" with a nod the worker began to clean.

"Alright girl you'd better be awake in there." Called out a rather harsh sounding voice, and Kyla just glared up at the man who had spoken as he unlocked the cage door and dragged her out by a leashlike chain. The chain itself was attached to a black collar around her neck, and both her hands had been tied together with thinner chains making it harder for her to try and escape.

"What the...okay I don't like the looks of this." Kyla thought to herself when she got a decent look at where they were headed. It looked like it was some kind of bar or nightclub, she wasn't sure which, but she already knew that probably meant trouble. However, she didn't have time to think more on that subject as she was dragged through a back door and down several different hallways before reaching what looked like some kind of office. For now she and the man who brought her here were the only people inside, but Kyla had a feeling that wouldn't last very long.

His pager goes off with the message that they had arrived. he opened the door to his office and smiled, " Jayden remove the chains and the collar, there is no need for them here." He walks over the the girl holding out his hand, " I am Colter De'Delinion, you may call me Cole, and this almost arrogant man next to me is Jayden." He leans down and whispers, " don't let him frighten you to much, he is a kind person at times." He straightens back up, " I hope your travel was okay?"

"Try travelling in a cage for gods know how many hours and you'll figure out how good of a trip it was." Kyla said with a suspicious look as she backed away from Cole. She already knew she didn't like this Jayden character, that is if the glare he was shooting at her right then meant anything but she just returned it with a dark glare of her own. She'd put up with worse people then him so he certainly didn't scare her, but this Cole character on the other hand. Something just seemed very suspicious about him.

He turns around understanding some of her distrust, was hoping she would soon begin to trust him, " follow please, there is a room ready for you across the room, you may have it decorated however you like. The club downstairs is open to anyone, and you may choose what job you would like to work as down there. There are three jobs, bartender/waitress, painter if you like the arts, there is a gallery next door down a brightly lit hall, and the last job is the assistant manager, which you might not like, I don't know." He wanted her stay here to be good, he doesn't know much about her, but didn't want her to get harmed. " think of me as a boss, not as the type of people who hurt you, I don't want to be those type."

At this point Kyla didn't really say much of anything, instead she just followed Cole like instructed but she still kept her distance. True she had to admit it was nice being free of those chains but she'd come to learn that most of the time that came with a price. However, she didn't dare ask about that since that was normally a sure fire way to get in trouble, and staying out of trouble was her main goal in life.

When they reached the room that was suppose to be hers, Kyla really had to put in the effort to hide her shock. It was bigger then she expected it would be, but he'd been right when he said it was still rather plain. Still it was hers obviously and that was the main point right there.
"So there's no catch here, I'm completely free to do whatever to this room?" Asked Kyla as the same suspicious look crossed her face.

He chuckled, " no price at all, you may change it to whatever you like, if you need anything just ask and I will show you where to find them, if there is anything to be bought, I will give you money to get it, the only thing is," He leaned back down, " you have to deal with jayden, you do have to have at least one person to be with you if you leave, and if it does not work with him could I trust you to go on your own?" he stood back up glancing to Jayden, " treat her with respect she will be reporting that to me."

"Well it's not like I could go running off, even if I wanted to." Said Kyla in an almost bitter tone of voice. Years of being a slave had made her a bit colder towards people, and she never did trust others very easily until they proved they were worth trusting. She already had a feeling she was going to have trouble with Jayden, mainly because he seemed to be eager to blast someone for even the slightest slip up and that would probably set her off eventually. Either way she was stuck putting up with him, but maybe she could get away with ignoring him most of the time.

He could feel the sting in her voice but began to get used to it, " I understand" yet he didn't understand everything, just what she ment. " As I mentioned, any problems you have with Jayden let me know, and Jayden try and be nice, you were not hired to be a jerk to those who work here." With that he turned, " Goodnight for now, I do hope you will be comfortable here."

Kyla just nodded in response, and it wasn't until both Cole and Jayden had left before she decided to explore her new room. She had to admit, it was much nicer then any room she had ever owned and that was saying something right there. When she was satisfied she'd gotten to know just about everything in her room she walked into the semi-large closet and dug out a plain black tank top and dark purple shorts to sleep in. Once she had changed she quickly discared the old, ragged clothes she had been forced to wear earlier before walking over to the bed and burying herself under the covers.
"Well, this has been rather unexpected." She said to herself as she just laid there staring out her window before she finally fell asleep. She had never expected her life to take a crazy turn like this, but if this was really going to be as good a life as her master a said remained to be seen.

He dismissed Jayden sending him home for the week, then went downstairs to the club. He walked around for a bit to make sure everything was in order and waited till everyone left before he switched the sign to closed. Walking back upstairs he stopped at the office door, listening carefully for any movement,not wanting to disturb any one, then slipped inside. He sat down at the desk and began the paper work, along with figuring the bills. The hours went by before he yawned, finishing the last of the work. He locked the office door, then checked in on the girl. Closing her door quietly he went back downstairs, through the hall and into the art gallery next door.

"Okay okay I'm up already!" Kyla moaned as she buried her face underneath a pillow in an attempt to block out the sunlight coming in through her window. However, that was a loosing battle and eventually she gave up trying to go back to sleep. After making sure no one had walked in on her during the night, Kyla quickly vanished into her closet and changed into just a plain blue shirt and black pants before digging out the sketch pad she had found while exploring her room. True she wasn't the best artist in the world, but that never stopped her before as she sat down in the window seat and began drawing everything she saw out the window.

Opening his eyes he heard movement in the club. Getting up he walked back in and up the stairs. Stopping at the girls door he listened then knocked. " would you like breakfast?" he asked quietly, trying to figure out the noise. " there is a kitchen further down the hall and to the left, there should be some food already fixed. I will be next door at the gallery if you need anything" He moved away from the door, and went to his office unlocking it, then went to the gallery to open it.

Kyla grew tense when she felt someone knock on her door, but when she heard Cole's voice from the other side some of that tension eased off somewhat. However, she still made sure he was gone before she stepped out of her room and made her way towards the kitchen. Thankfully no one else was there right then, so she just grabbed some food for herself and moved to a corner of the room where she wouldn't be noticed, but be able to see anyone who came in.
"So there's an art gallery next door, I may have to check that out later." She thought to herself as she ate, and when she finished she placed the used plate in the sink before heading back to her room. She preferred getting there before anyone noticed her, but hey when did her luck ever run that good? Never that's when.

He smiled, hoping the food was alright, he real at the time did not have an appetite, but most times he didn't have to eat as much as others. His pager went off making even him jump, for his mind was wandering. He looked at the number, pulled out his cell and called, " it best be good Jayden." He could hear the slight laugh of the man on the other side. * well I think I might have a solution on how to find the missing painting.* Jayden began to ramble. " I don't care at the moment, it can be easily replaced with another peice of art." He hung up while Jayden was in mid sentance and went into the kitchen. He rifled through one of the compartments in the fridge and pulled out a glass with what looked like tamatoe juice. Glancing around he took a drink and set it back, behind one of the boxes of yogurt.

At this point Kyla finally felt brave enough to explore the art gallery Cole had mentioned, and already she was inside looking through every place she could get to. Then again that's just how she was, she liked to know everything about a particular room she found interesting so that she was familiar with it and the art gallery she especially liked. But it wasn't as if she was going to admit that to anyone anytime soon, since she still held little trust for her current master.

He wiped his mouth and headed out the second door conected to the gallery. ' sometimes it's hard owning two business's but it helps." He thought to himself. Not knowing anyone else was in there he sat down at an easle and began to paint, something he has not done in many years. The painting was odd, well would be odd to others but for him it was meaningful. As he painted he got the feeling someone was in there but tried not to think of it as he finished the face of one of the persons. " To those who searched for answeres and found none." He said aloud, in an almost whispering voice.

Just then a shriek could be heard followed by a crash as Kyla fell face first onto the ground.
"Ow.......darn I hate when I do that!" She hissed angrily as she glared at the piece of carpet that had tripped her, and once she was certain she'd gotten out with nothing but a few more bruises she stood up from off the ground and dusted herself off. She was going to have a time explaining that one if anyone heard her, but hopefully they hadn't.

Whips around startled at the noise, he sets down the paint and his brush and went to find what happened. " are you okay... uh name, I don't believe I got it?" he asked now standing in front of her. He looked at the carpet and shook his head, he found that by having carpet put in, made more trouble then a wood floor. " I guess it would be a good idea to take the carpet out before the Grand Opening tonight?" He asked looking for another opinion.

"I guess....unless you warn people about that one spot in particular, and my name's Kyla."

Why he even cared to know her name in the first place Kyla couldn't figure out, since most people never called her that anyway. Oh well she wasn't about to try and figure that out for now, considering she wasn't that good at reading people. The only thing she ever noticed was if they were hostile towards her or not, and so far she hadn't seen any of that but she still didn't allow her guard to drop even once.

He chuckled, " I guess the warning will work, or I can take the time to take it out, maybe I could take it out later on in the month. Thank you Kyla." He turned around then looked back, " Do you like art? I am working on one painting if you would like to see it?" Then walked back to where the easle stood, the painting half finished.

Despite any misgivings she might have had about her current situation, Kyla couldn't help her own curiosity when he offered to show her whatever it was he was working on.

"Well......yes, in a way I do but I never had many chances to try doing any kind of artwork myself." Said Kyla in a guarded tone of voice, but it seemed like she was loosing a bit more of her suspicious nature by now. However, it wasn't much and she still kept her distance but that was just force of habit for her by now.

[Blood+Fury]

" Alright then, this way." He turned and sat down in front of the painting. " It is of my family, my mother and father, and my little sister. They searched for me after I left, and I never could go back to them, for fear they would not except me anymore for what I am." It was odd for him to talk about his family, yet he thought that the best way to trust is to talk, to understand also about the person around him. He mostley obsereved, but then again he took it into question when wanting to know things. " If you want i could teach you to paint, or you could start easier and draw. My gallery is full of drawings, paintings, ect... there is always room for more. I also have at least on part of a room dedicated to the school kids to show their art work they have done in class, it gives them hope that they are special no matter how many people tell them they are not."

"That's....you're family?" Asked Kyla as she glanced at the painting with a somewhat bewildered look on her face. Having been a slave for so long she'd never known her own family, or if she even had one to begin with, so that would explain the look on her face to some extent. Everything she knew she'd learned either in a cage or while she was chained up somewhere, which left her lacking in a few areas but for the most part that had never bothered her much. Okay so maybe to some extent it did, but she was accustom to those feelings and never thought twice about it.

" it is my family yes, I never got the chance to say goodbye after I left, then two years later I went back and it was to late, they had died in an attack on the village." With that said he stopped talking, his mind filling with memories of what he found, then he picked up the brush finishing the last of the painting. " Does it look alright to you?" He turned his head and smiled. " Do you ever think of finding your parents?"

Now that question caught Kyla off guard a bit, mainly because she never expected to be asked something like that.

"Not really to be honest, besides they probably didn't want me then and I doubt they'd want me now." She said with a bitter edge to her voice. She wasn't even sure if her parents were even still alive or not, and that was a question she wasn't sure she wanted answered. Besides she'd looked after herself for so long that it made her wonder what the point of trying to find them would even be.

He felt some what sadened by her answere, for him family ment everything, " I believe they did care about you, maybe they are searching for you also." He took the painting from the easle and placed it against the wall. With a new brush, new paint and a clean canvas he took a look at Kyla and then began to paint. " It is nearly noon, if you want I can cook something for lunch for you, or you can go to a store or cafe' to eat, I will give you some money." He wanted the painting to be a sort of suprise for her, something to if she wanted, could hang in her room.

"Well, I guess I'll go out this time since I haven't actually been outside the building since I got here." Said Kyla as she stole a glance at the door before turning her violet gaze back on Cole. Truth be told she was starting to feel a little locked in from being inside for so long, and not only that but she didn't get a good look at the entire area when she was dragged in here. Call it her curious streak making itself known but she did want to at least have some idea as to what kind of town she was living in now.

He gave her some money, around thirty-five bucks, then continued to paint. " Do be careful, it may seem like a nice town, but sometimes looks can be decieving." He didn't want to scare her, but that was one reason he wanted soemone to go with her, he had enemies out there, he didn't know if they knew where he was but he couldn't take a chance. When the door closed as she left he reached for his pager and messaged Jayden, letting him know to keep an eye out for her, but not to make his presence known.

"Whoa this is new, and he didn't even ask that Jayden to guard me 24/7." Kyla thought to herself as she stepped out of the building. At first she kept her eyes on everything around her, as if she were suspicious that there might be some catch to him letting her go out like this. However, after she kept walking and realized that she really was on her own right then she felt a little braver and actually took the opportunity to pay more attention to the town itself. From a first glance it was rather big and anyone could easily become lost out here, but Kyla wasn't worried about that since she remembered things rather quickly and already had the general area memorized before moving on. It took even less time for her to find a small cafe that was near the nightclub she now called home, but it took her a few minutes before she decided to step inside.
In all honesty she was still edgy about this whole situation she'd found herself in, but she might as well enjoy it as long as it lasted anyway.

He knew that sooner or later she would find that Jayden was following her, but he hoped it wouldn't be to bad. He dipped his brush in the next color and began painting her eyes, the mystery of all people. No one knew what laid behind them. An hour or so passed by, he felt a little worried but that was natural, or he thought it was. he finshed this painting, went up stairs and placed it in Kyla's room. He entered his office and began the preporations for the grand opening tomorrow night. He checked his list, made several phone calls, and after it was all done, he layed his head down on the desk resting for just awhile.

Well, for once Kyla managed to keep herself out of trouble but that's probably one factor that led to her figuring out that Jayden was following her right then. Actually she caught sight of him as she was stepping out of the cafe before he vanished from sight again, and needless to say for now she decided to let that slide. At least he wasn't irritating her at this point so that had to say something, but what exactly she couldn't say.
"Well I have to admit, it's kind of nice having this much freedom for once." Kyla said to herself as she walked back inside the nightclub and headed up to her room. She didn't think she'd be needed downstairs just yet so for now she kept out of sight as she ducked into her room. Unfortunately she wasn't really paying attention to where she was going and manged to somehow trip over the painting Cole had placed in the room.
"What the?! What's this." She said as she picked up the painting. Luckily it hadn't been damaged in that short run in, but what shocked her was the fact that it was a portrait of her.
"But who....wait I think I already know the answer to that question." Kyla thought to herself, and for once in who knew how long the faintest hint of a smile played on her face. For now she placed the painting in a nearby chair, but that's just until she figured out the best place to hang it up on her room wall.

His head snapped up at the sound, and saw Jayden standing in front of the desk. " Did anything happen?"
" No" Jayden replied, and wondered what caused the noise. " you seem to be getting along with her?" He figured he already knew, but didn't want to push further.
Cole just shook his head, " For the grand opening tomorrow night, what drinks should be served, you did remember about it didn't you?" He at times could not trust Jayden with a simple job as a list, yet that had not changed. " if not you are excused to finish." With that he got up, walking to Kylas' room, knocking first. " is it alright if I may enter?" Jayden was standing behind him.

Right at that moment Kyla had all her attention focused on another drawing she was working on, and once she heard someone knock on her door she jumped from the sudden sound. However, she easily recovered from being startled like that and just closed her sketchbook before answering.

"Yes, you can come in if you wish." She quickly called out, knowing that her door wasn't locked yet since she really didn't feel much of a reason to lock it.

He turned the knob entering with a smile, his eyes moving with the quick motion as the book closed. Reading the front he noticed the word skeched. " I hope you don't mind, I was just wondering if you would like to help out with the opening tomorrow night?" He wasn't sure what the answere would be, or if she still didn't trust anyone, but it was worth something. " I also hope you don't mind the painting, I thought.....maybe it would cheer you up some." In his mind he thought of another painting, maybe one of her with a family.

"Well, what exactly would you want me to do tomorrow night?" Asked Kyla because in all honesty she had no idea how she'd be of any help whatsoever. Then again Cole had to have a good reason for asking her, and he knew more about what was going on tomorrow night then she did so at this point she'd just wait for him to explain more into what he'd have her do.

" Well I was thinking that if it was alright with you, you could help the others serve and greet people at the door?" He thought some more, keeping another idea in the back of his mind. " Also if you would like, you could help decorate the place, maybe help in planning what the theme could be?"

"Well, I'm not the best at decorating but anything else I should be able to do without any problems." Said Kyla as she gave a slight shrug of her shoulders while crossing her arms in front of her. Though she didn't say anything the thought of being in a crowded room had a her a little edgy, but then again this was pretty unfamiliar territory she was in right now. So that could explain some of it, but overall she kept it hidden very well since she wasn't to keen on letting her emotions show much.

[Blood+Fury]

" Well whatever you feel comfortable with is fine with me. Just be careful, after all having the club next door, usually guest a little roudy, so if you want you can stay in the gallery. I will leave you be, if you need anything just ask." He turned around closing the door behind him, and walking downstairs. There at the bottom of the steps Jayden waited, " How long will it take for everyone to get ready?" Jayden asked matching Coles walk. " I don't know, lets just get the securty ready first and worry about the rest a little later." In his mind the images of his family flashed, no one knew he had not slept in awhile except the short naps every once in awhile. " You may go Jayden, get some rest, you will need it for tomorrow night." With that Jayden left, as Cole made his way to the painting. More flash backs filled his mind, he lowered his head ignoring the fact.

"Well, guess I'd better make myself useful then." Said Kyla to herself as she placed her sketchbook back on the small table in her room and headed downstairs. True she may not be the best at it, but maybe she could get some ideas that would make the place look a little different then it normally did. Of course that's only if Cole gave her free reign to come up with any ideas, so for now she kept most of her thoughts to herself while taking note of anything that might be useful later.

He just stood there, hearing nothing but screams as they wqouldn't stop, yet he could feel something or someone in the room somewhere. " Time" He thought to himself as he finaly snapped out of the memory, and walked off. As he turned the corner he could see Kyla walking down the stairs, so he went the other way, not wanting to disturb her.

Since there wasn't much she could do right then from the looks of things, Kyla just sat off to the side and watched as everyone raced around to get things ready for tomorrow night. She'd even gone so far as to actually ask if there was anything she needed to do, but having been told that everything was covered and that her assistance wasn't needed just yet all she could do was stay out of the way and wait to see what happened next.

Cole walked up behind her, his voice calm and almost quiet. " Do you want to go shopping?" he pulled out a credit card and handed it to her, " I realy don't know what people like, and if you need to, here is my cell in case you need something else." He wasn't sure if she realy wanted to but it was better than doing nothing, and maybe this could give her a chance for some time for herself, and for him to get to know her more.

Kyla almost jumped when Cole spoke up from behind her, but she quickly caught herself since she never did like making it obvious when someone startled her.
"Well....alright." She said but it wasn't hard to detect the slight hesitation in her voice. Which that was mainly because she was still adjusting to all this freedom that she suddenly had when compared to the kind of life she lived before, and it was still almost second nature for her to be suspicious of a possible motive behind all this. However, although it was slow, she was starting to loose some of her suspicious nature but it was going to take a while before it was gone completely.

Cole handed her the stuff with a nod of his head, " I will get a vehicle for you so you don't have to walk, unless you prefer to walk?" He didn't mean to startle her, but sometimes that happened. " There are three malls downtown, they have some pretty nice stuff." He never realy had a girl working for him, so it was hard for him on knowing what a girl liked, so his idea of letting her get her own stuff would be good.

"Actually, I'm fine with walking if that's fine with you." Said Kyla. Not that she was against using a vehicle to get there, she just preferred walking since it gave her more time to herself. Also she'd have a better opportunity to become more familiar with the area, and thankfully she memorized things very quickly so finding her way back wouldn't be difficult.

" That is fine with me, and Jayden will not be around, so you are free to explore more without him around." He would keep his promise of Jayden not following her, he didn't want to break any trust she might have. " Be back around seven tonight, that will give you a couple hours to get ready for the opening." He smiled walking her to the front door, " Be careful." He looked around hearing a crash near by, one of the decoraters had dropped the silver plated frame, luckly there was no painting in it. Waving goodbye he went on about getting things finished. " When will you tell her?" Jayden spoke from behind Cole. " In time, I don't want to rush things, exspecialy with this." Jayden nodded, " you can't keep this from her for to long, I can tell that it is comeing back, you can't hide that much." Cole just shrugged, not wanting to talk about the flashbacks.

"Okay so now the question is, where the hell do I even want to start?" Wondered Kyla as she walked into the first mall she came to and started glancing around at the different stores that where inside. A few quickly caught her interest but there were others that she was debating whether to go inside or not, so for now she decided to start with the one closest to her and go from there. At least that was the plan, but that could change quick.

Jayden kept pressing, even though he knew he shouldn't. " Cole, the time has come, I have done everything to be kind to the girl since you told me. You can not keep this up." Cole just walked away. " Jayden just please give it time, I know what is going to happen and I want to make sure I can trust you both to do this for me." One of the Cheifs tapped Cole on the shoulder, " The list of food you gave me, I will not be able to get some of it prepared in time." Cole let the man know that it was alright. He walked around the gallery, making sure the rest of the plans were going well, then stepped outside to check the sign. The gallery did not have a name yet till now, when it opened for the first time. "The De'Delinion Gallery of Art." Cole smiled, glad that everything was in place, not one thing had gone wrong yet. In his mind he thought about those after him, hoping they would choose not to show up tonight.

Instead of arguing with Cole at this point, Jayden opted to avoid the storm for now since he knew that would come up soon enough. However, as he was walking out of the room he almost ran right into Kyla.
"Oh, sorry about that." Kyla said quickly as she made sure she hadn't dropped anything before heading upstairs to her room. She actually hadn't bought much at this point, but what she did have was enough for her for the moment. However, she didn't exactly have much time to sort everything out, so she just placed everything in her closet before getting ready to head back downstairs.

Jayden just smiled, " that is alright, my fault." Back at the gallery Cole was setting up the amps for the band he had hired. Heading back to his office he figured on getting a few hours rest befor ehe got ready to be the host of the night. He layd his head on his folded arms and closed his eyes, but that didn't last long as a scream filled his head. He knew the scream to well, his mothers.

Since she had a few hours before she would need to head downstairs, Kyla decided to stay in her room for now. After all she didn't have to be downstairs until about seven or so, so up until then she had some time to kill. Now she just had to figure out how to kill those few hours, but it didn't take her long to come up with something as she grabbed her sketchbook and sat down on her bed to begin another drawing.

Getting up he headed to his own room to shower and get ready, he of course had to be down there early to make sure it was all ready. Taking his time he searched through his wardrobe to find something a little elegant. Finding something of a dark blue he set in it the chair and got ready, not bothering with a tie. When he got done he walked past Kyla's room, " I will be downstairs" he said as he headed for the stairs. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out the small silver chain, checking his pocket watch for the time. " Only thirty minutes to go before they arrive." He thought to himself.

"Well, guess I'd better head down then." Said Kyla to herself as she stood and glanced at herself in a nearby mirror before heading out. Once she was certain she was satisfied with how she looked, Kyla walked out of her room and made her way downstairs before the crowd came. True she never did enjoy crowds much, but she'd deal with that just like she'd done plenty of times before.

Cole was standing near the door talking to some of the guests as they walked in. The waiters went around seating the guests and takeing orders as more came in. Cole then spotted Kyla and smiled. " How are you feeling?" His hands still in his pockets as he scanned the room to make sure nothing went wrong. Nerviously he wrapped his hand around the small black box in the pocket and held to it tightly. " If you want you can mingle and make knew friends, I am sure there are other kids your age here."

"Actually, I think I'll stay close to the edges of the crowd for now." Said Kyla as she glanced at the crowd that had already started to gather inside the art gallery before stepping over to an area where hopefully she wouldn't be as noticeable. However, this still gave her a decent point in which she could observe everything and everyone without getting to much attention herself.

With a nod and a smile Cole began to talk with other artists. Everyonce in awhile he would glance over to Kyla to make sure she was alright. The time came to cut the ribbon and announce the opening of the gallery, and of course the reporters were there, somthing he dispised greatly. Time began to quicken and the party began to die down, it was nearly ten when everyone had left. Smileing he walked over to where Kyla was standing. He took the black box from his pocket and opened it, taking out the small silver locket inside it. He unlatched it and place it around her neck as a surprise. " I hope you like it.'' He didn't want to startle her when he put it on. " it used to be my mothers, and now it is yours."

Needless to say he had startled Kyla somewhat when he stepped up behind her, but not enough to be noticeable since most of her attention was on the locket he'd placed around her neck.
"But why in the world would you give me something like this? I mean not that I don't appreciate it or anything like that but why give it to me?" Asked Kyla as she glanced at Cole with a slightly confused look on her face. Okay so she asked a lot of questions most of the time, but when she didn't understand something she wasn't above asking about it until she did.

Cole took awhile before he answered, " It is hard for me to explain. I wanted you to have it, because..." This was going to be a little different, he never realy thought of why, he just wanted her to have something. " Because, you are a beautiful young lady and I thought that maybe someone like you deserved something to match your beauty." He knew it sounded strange, but he wasn't sure how else to tell her. He bowed his head to hide the slight embarresment afraid he made a fool out of himself.

Now that really caught Kyla off guard. No one had ever called her beautiful before and evidently her shock at hearing that showed on her face despite her attempt to hide it.

"Did you, just say I was beautiful?" She asked, almost as if she didn't really believe it and wanted to make sure she'd heard what she thought she heard.

Taking a breath he wondered if he should repeat, " I did, yes." Once again his head bowed closing his eyes, " now you made a fool out of yourself Cole, good job." He moved from behind her deciding if he should leave.

"Well...thank you then." Said Kyla as she allowed the faintest hint of a smile to play on her face. Maybe no one had said it before now but she had to admit, it certainly felt different hearing someone call her beautiful. Then again considering the kind of life she'd lived before now that might explain that somewhat, but she certainly wasn't keeping track of that at this point.

" I am sorry if it seemed ackward." He smiled back seeing for the first time she smiled. " I guess I better get to cleaning, if you like there should be some food in the kitchen if you are hungery." He walked past her still smiling, taking a deep breath, and headed to one of the tables clearing it off. He didn't know what else to do, he wasn't accustumed to others doing the work for him, he was still getting used to that, but he did know that Kyla would be safe.

"Well you're braver then I thought." Said Jayden in his usual sarcastic tone of voice when he noticed that Kyla was wearing the necklace. He'd seen it a few times himself so it wasn't hard to recognize it, but he was still surprised that Cole had been brave enough to even give it to her in the first place. Of course that was just his opinion and that never counted for much anyway, but he still gave it whenever he saw the opportunity.

He turned and looked Jayden in the eyes, " I know, but it does look good with her, and to be honest she is beautiful." He realy at times didn't like Jayden, but Jayden had been his friend since the wars. " I just hope I didn't look to much like a fool." He knew it was a brave move, but he wasn't realy sure how to tell her he liked her in a good way, not the bad way.

"Well I think if you did she would have said so by now, but that's just what I think and you know how that normally works out." Said Jayden with a shrug of his shoulders. Truth be told he thought this whole situation was taking a rather unexpected twist, but he preferred staying out of things and observeing what happened. It definitely made life more interesting that was for sure.

Jayden was right, as usual, she would have said something. " Thank you Jayden." Cole patted him on the back as he left. After awhile Cole finished cleaning the room around eleven thirty and yawned, as he headed upstairs to his room. Ofcourse his room was upstairs of the gallery, a door hidden behind a life size painting. He locked the painting behind him to make sure it didn't open sometime during the night, and hoped no one would notice the small cool breeze from behind it. He sat on the bed thinking of the past few days, they did seem to be a little strange. He shrugged and layed down, letting his mind drift, as he finaly slept without nightmares filling his mind.

By now Kyla was back in her room, and right then she was streached out on her bed while looking at the silver locket she'd been given that night.
"Well talk about life taking strange turns." Kyla said to herself as she ran her finger lightly over the intricate etchings in the locket itself before placing it back around her neck. She'd never in her life owned something that valuable, and from that point on she decided she wouldn't stop wearing it without a very good reason to take it off. So with that decision made she made certain her room door was locked before burying herself under the covers on her bed and quickly falling asleep.

Cole's mind filled with good thoughts, somewhere though the nightmares were waiting to be released. He knew why they were coming back, it was because they had returned to kill him, that was what they were after long ago. He wouldn't let them find him, and he would be sure that no matter what happened Kyla would be safe, and live a comfortable life, and Jayden, well he might still have his job, but he knew that if anything did happen Jayden would be by his side to fight. " nothing is going to happen." Cole said in his mind, well more like said it in his dream.

"Okay now what woke me up this time?" Kyla thought to herself when she was suddenly jolted awake. At first she thought it was nothing but that's when she heard it, it was faint but she knew what footsteps sounded like and they were coming from downstairs. Usually she wouldn't have been to worried but considering that it was 2 o'clock in the morning she knew that no one should have been downstairs this time of night. So against her better judgement she slid out of bed and silently walked out of her room to investigate.
Well at least the one thing Kyla had going for her was the fact that she could easily stay out of sight if needed, so that meant that if she was careful she wouldn't be seen. That is if whoever was down there wasn't suppose to be here in the first place.

Someone passed the painting, waking Cole up. He slipped out of bed, unlatched the painting and stepped into the hallway. Quietly he made his way through the second door hidden around a small corner and entered the kitchen, the footsteps continueing through the building heading what sounded like to him, upstairs. The footsteps were not familiar to him, but he didn't care, he had to get upstairs before whoever it was got up there. He ran back to his room, unlatched another lock and slipped into the dark alley, he would take the fire escape to get upstairs.

"Well, nothing down here." Kyla whispered to herself as she took a final glance around the area before turning to head back to her own room. However, before she took even one step up the stairs something smashed into the back of her skull causing her to stagger forward just as her vision went black, and the last thing she clearly remembered was feeling something warm and sticky flow down against her neck before she fell against the stairs. The only problem was that by now there was no sign of who, or what, had knocked her out cold so it was debateable whether they were still there or had made a quick escape.

Without notice Cole jumped down the flight of stairs tackling the person to the ground, just what he feared, he had been betrayed. The two tussled knocking over several sculpters, tables and glassware. Cole slipped the knife from its sheath at his wrist stabbing the person several times, as he blocked where Kyla had fallen. The person had gotten away unfortunatly, but the person would be easy to find. Holding his hand to his side he looked down at the blood that had spilled. Ignoring his own pain he picked Kyla up, taking her to the hidden room in the art gallery hall. Lying her down he began to doctor the wound she had received to her head. After wrapping her head he propped up some pillows keeping her comfy. Taking a peice of paper from the printer he began to sketch what the person had looked like, then called the police.

Fortunately it didn't take long before Kyla woke up, but it didn't help that now she had the worst headache ever.
"Ow...damn I have the worst luck." She hissed as she slowly sat up, and once she was certain she wasn't going to pass out again from that hit she attempted to get some of the blood off her neck while ignoring the throbbing pain in the back of her skull. Of course she was probably lucky she wasn't dead from that hit, but her main question was who in the bloody hell was even there to begin with.

turning around Cole smiled to see she was awake, " are you going to be alright, and don't worry the police are going to investigate the break in." Whoever it was, didn't want the girl, thank god, but the person did want something and Cole had an idea of what. " I am going to meet the police at the front door, please stay here and lock the door behind you." he knew his room would be safer, it had no windows so no one could get in that way, and it was hidden form the rest of the place. With a nod of his head he slipped from behind the painting listening for the click of the lock.

"Guess I'll have to ask about this mess later." Kyla thought to herself as she quickly locked the door, and at least she didn't mind the idea of no one being able to find her anytime soon. Getting hit once was enough for her, but she could already think of some questions she wanted to ask once the opportunity presented itself.

It took around two hours to get the police report and several other nessecary precautions done, then about thirty minutes to clean up any mess made during the fight. Cole grabbed the three paintings that had fallen on the floor and knocked beside his room door. " It's Cole, can you let me in." The paintings cost a fortune, but they would be fixable hopefully. This was his only life, the life of art, and in one incident it was almost destroyed. " Why did he come back?" He asked himself.

Kyla had been sitting there waiting for Cole to come back when she heard him knock on the door, and she quickly raced over to the door and unlocked it.
"Alright it should be unlocked now." Kyla called out from the other side of the door as she stepped back so she'd be out of the way.

Cole stepped into the room, locking it behind him, as he set the paintings down. He sat down on the bed resting his head on his knees. " This is going to be a long night" He whispered.

"Why do you say that?" Asked Kyla from where she was sitting in a nearby chair. Needless to say she was a little bewildered by what Cole had said and she wasn't afraid to show that either.

He looked over to Kyla, " I have alot of questions to answere, and I hope that this incident that happened doesn't scare you away." He would start from when it all began to fall to peices, of course he wouldn't tell everything.

"Well, compared to a few things I've already lived through then I don't think you'll scare me away anytime soon." Said Kyla, considering there were a few things she was hiding herself that she didn't like to tell anyone. In all honesty very few knew that she was half vampire, and that was something she never told anyone unless they found out on their own or the information was necessary.

" The person who was here tonight was looking for something that had been passed down in my family, something that could destroy all of the creatures of the night. I was given this before I left my home and kept it hidden for so many years. There was this hunter who knew I had it and had been after me since I was changed, but with no luck of finding me till now." He took a deep breath, shaking some as he finished, " This was then to be passed down to my sister, who unfortunatly died, due to this person. since I had been stuck with it, I thought to find another person to help me protect it." He glanced to her, " I searched for years finding someone to help protect it, but it wouldn't take to any one I found, so I had Jayden take it with him to the auction, so it could find its own person." That person had been her, but he couldn't figure out why. " you may have some questions don't you?"

"Well, what exactly is this thing you're talking about?" Asked Kyla, since she may have a theory as to why it came to her. However, it was sketchy at best and she didn't want to reveal anything until she knew more about what Cole was telling her.

Walking over to the far wal he knelt down, he pulled the base board from the wall and pulled out a small box from the wall. " it is called Bloods Light, created by a man by the name of Blitz Carter. He made it to cure his wife of the disease of the vampires, but it didn't cure her, it destroyed her. He was filled with greif, and swore to destroy all vampires, exspecialy the one who turned his wife, but he died in the progress. Since then it has been passed down from vampire to vampire to keep it out of the enemies hands." He knew that the man was still alive, because tonight the rumers came true, the man made a deal, to stay alive as long as it took to kill the vampire who turned his wife, then destroy all of them. " I have to get ahold of someone, I have to make plans to leave the city for awhile." He didn't want to leave all that he had created to survive, but he couldn't risk any ones life.

"I think I know one reason it might have come to me." Said Kyla once he told her that it only chose one of vampire blood. True he may not believe her at first but what she had to say was completely true, even if it wasn't obvious to begin with.
"You see, half of me is of vampire blood while the other is human. There are very few I tell this to, but since it may explain things somewhat I don't see much reason to keep it hidden."

His jaw drops, then he shakes his head to make sure he heard right, " There are very few Halflings out in the world these days." He said to himself. He handed her the small orb, watching it glow. " That could explain alot of things, it's shocking though." He smiled, feeling better, " Half, that is good, but still why did it choose you?" He was still leary to tell her that he was the vampire that turned the mans wife, but he would have to tell her sometime, and tonight seemed as good of a night.

That was one question Kyla didn't have an answer to, and she was just as bewildered about the situation as she held the small orb in her hand and watched as it continued to glow. That was a good question as to why something like this would choose her, after all she wasn't anyone important so why her? That was one question she really wanted to figure out the answer to, but as of yet she had no idea how to do so.

" If I can get ahold of Malic, he could find more information as to how the orb works, it never glowed for anyone it was passed to till now." He took another breath, deciding to tell her, " the man was after me, the reason was because I turned his wife long ago, I thought that she loved me, but it turned out, she didn't, she only wanted to help her husband destroy our kind." He felt worse than before, he was losing lood for he had forgot about his own wounds, but he kept it well concealed.

"So if this is all about revenge, what does it have to do with me? Cause to be honest, I'm not really that important in the big scheme of things." Said Kyla since she didn't see any point in hiding her confusion over this entire mess. However, there wasn't much use in getting frustrated at this point since it certainly wasn't going to help the situation much anyway.

"But enough about me, I'd say you took a pretty ugly beating yourself." She said as she walked closer to Cole and started working on whatever stab wounds he had from the fight. True she didn't know much, but Kyla did know a thing or two about these kind of injuries so she just used what she had and went from there.

" I figure it has nothing to do with you, the person was probly startled to see someone there and freaked out, not knowing what to do." He flinched away, a litle afraid, true he was, but he relaxed soon after. He moved his hand from the stab wound in his side, " don't worry it will take soem time to heal, but it will be okay." He didn't want her to worry, but he did have an idea. He would send her away with the orb, and pretend he still had it, after all he was good at art, he could just make a look a like. That way if the person came back, she would be safe and he could finish what had happened, of course Jayden was not to know. " thank you, and I am sorry you got hurt in all of this, I didn't know he would show up for at least another week." He realy hated that she had got hurt, and felt bad.

"Well, that's not the worst thing that has ever happened to me so don't worry so much about it." Said Kyla once she was done with his injuries. True she was well aware that most vampires could heal at a faster rate then humans, but she never did like taking chances even if that's what she'd been forced to do for most of her life.

'' Thank you Kyla." He smiled again, glad to have at least someone who would somewhat understand, and someone to talk with. He places a light kiss on her forhead and headed over to the closet pulling out a cot, " you can stay here tonight, so you can be safe, I will sleep in the hallway or near the door incase the he comes back."

"Um.....alright." Said Kyla, since she was a little shocked by the fact that he had kissed her right then. True it was only on her forehead but still, that was something she had never expected and it really had surprised her. However, she didn't dwell on that fact as she grabbed a blanket and streached out on the small cot. Of course that's when another headache decided to hit but she didn't notice it for long since she fell asleep soon afterwards.

Cole shakes his head, " you can sleep in the bed, I will take the cot." He grabed a pillow and waited, trying to figure out where to place the cot. " Get some sleep, if your head starts to hurt there is some asprin in the cabinet above the dresser." He figured her head would hurt, but wasn't sure if she would say anything, so he didn't press.

"Alright, but just watch yourself. There's no telling if our attacker might decide to come back tonight or not." Said Kyla as she slid under the covers on the bed, and not long after she fell asleep. True she was already starting to feel sore from the whole smack in the head incident, but she didn't say anything since she didn't see much reason to in the first place.

He nodded, then went to the cabinet and took out a couple asprin and a glass of water and set it on the endtable. With a sigh he layed down and stared at the ceiling, she was right. He soon began to fall asleep, not wanting it to be day for a long time, but that would never happen. *Drifting off he watched the man from the corner, the smae man from before, Blitz, he had killed his sister, mother, and now his father. Coles' mentor was standing next to him, assuring Cole, that soon everything would be okay. Then the time to change was there, his body dying as he began a new life.* Cole sturred in his sleep, nearly falling off the cot. He could sense morning comeing in two hours, that was sad, but he didn't have to open the gallery or the club if he did not want to. He thought of calling Malic to talk to him about getting any more info on the orb, and to help him find a new location.

Kyla wasn't even aware of how close it was to daylight seeing as she was still asleep right then. However, even in her dreams the situation still had her rather edgy and her unanswered questions continued to haunt her despite her attempts to forget them for now.

Cole sat up in the cot and looked around as he stretched his arms over his head. To late to go back to sleep, but that was okay, it would give him time to get the stuff he needed before doing anything else. Looking to Kyla he wondered what she was thinking, having a feeling he didn't completly answere her questions.

"What?" Asked Kyla when she noticed that Cole was watching her for some reason she couldn't figure out. Although from her perspective it looked like he was thinking about something, but that didn't explain what he found so interesting about her all of a sudden.

" Sorry, I was just hinking, do you still have more questions?" It startled him for a second when he all of a sudden spoke up when he thought she was asleep. Rifling through his address book he found Malic's number, and propped it open for later. The only thing he had left, was to get the girll somwhere safe so she would not get harmed if the man came ack. " What do you think of a vacation, maybe Jayden or someone else could go with you."

"That depends, since I'm guessing you mean you wouldn't be going?" Asked Kyla as she eyed Cole with a suspicious look. Now she really wanted to know what he was up to because she could tell he was planning something, but the real question was what and why. Although she was starting to wonder if she'd even get answers to that question.

[Blood+Fury]

" I will not be comeing, but if I make it out in time I will join you both wherever you choose to go. The other reason is, I don't want you to get hurt if he comes back, exspecialy when i will be giving you the orb, to take with you. I might have Malic go with you, Jayden I do not trust as much. If no one goes with you I will make sure to make it there before to much time goes by, I promise." He shakes his head, " I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me." he spoke in a whisper, almost unaudable. Looking up he gave a half-hearty smile and began to dial Malic's numer, calling for more information on the orb.

"I seriously do not like this idea, but oh well." Kyla thought to herself, but she didn't voice that opinion for now. True she could see where it might work better if they went in seperate directions for now, but also she didn't like the idea of someone else getting anywhere near her. Yes she still had her distrustful nature around people she didn't know, but that's not something she could so easily loose.

After the phone conversation he had two plans made, " Alright, Malic will find more info, but she said she'd have to hack into the main computers at the museium. The next thing is, she will find a place that is far away to keep you out of danger, and if you want she could go with you, if you don't want anyone then please speak up, I don't want you to do something you don't want to do." malic was one of his newest friend from when he moved into the city about five years ago, she had helped him get his buisnesses made and helped him with many other stuff. One things she did help him with was aquirring a new identity since he had no records from his time, and they had to be believable records to. She had forged him a birth certificate, social security number and several other things needed. He trusted her enought to keep Kyla company and safe, and to find as much as possible on the orb. " She is realy nice, her and her spazing cat like people, and love's to help." He understood somewhat if she didn't want to go with anyone, but he hoped she understood that what he was going to do might be dangerous. " I will call when I get the chance to make sure you are alright."

"Well.....I guess if you trust her that much she can't be that horrible, but that's just from what you've told me." Said Kyla since she didn't want him or this Malic thinking she would just trust her that easily. It'd take a while before she decided she could believe what Cole told her, and as long as they remembered that then she'd be fine with whatever he had planned.
"Just don't go getting yourself into trouble, or else I'll hunt you down and mutilate you myself." She said, which was just her way of saying for him to be careful.

[Blood+Fury]

Cole smiled, figuring it would take her awhile to trust others, the chuckled, " I will be careful, and if anything should happen, you are left with plenty of stuff and money to keep you comfortable." He knew one thing was for sure, he had to fix what he created, he had to stop Blitz at any range or tactik. " You be careful also, call me if you have to, and I will contact you so you know I am fine." he handed her his cell number, the club number which was the same as the gallerie's. " If i get hurt, you have permission to hit me upside the head with a frying pan. " He chuckled again, he never realy heard anyone say for him to be careful, it was nice to hear it.

"You'll be lucky if I don't do worse then that." Said Kyla as she took the piece of paper he handed to her and placed it in the pocket of her pants. At least that way she knew both numbers would be easy to get to should she need them, but hopefully she wouldn't get in enough trouble that she'd need to call him.

Cole smiles as he stands up, "I will make you some breakfast if you want." He unlocked the painting, sticking his head out checking the room, all seemed quiet, " thank god." he whispered and stepped out. With a flick of his wrist, the small knife in its sheath slipped out, he kept a good grip on it, he wanted to be sure it was completly safe. " Stay close I am gonna check around in the buidling." Making his way to the kitchen he listened carefuly, the building was empty except for the two of them.

As they walked down the hallway, Kyla couldn't hear anything that would give away someone sneaking through the building. However, that could mean nothing since she had all ideas that should this adversary of theirs return then they would take extra precautions so that they wouldn't get caught again. Then again on the flip side it could also mean that no one was there and for now they were safe.

"I don't hear anything, so maybe for now we're in the clear." Said Kyla as she followed Cole into the kitchen, since she didn't like the idea of staying out in that hallway alone at this point. But she kept that well hidden for now.

Cole nodded his head, " I think you are right." He set the knife back in its sheath then went to the fridge. " What would you like?" He searched through the fridge placing items on the counter beside it. Spoting a carten of juice and some milk he set that out also. " How did you sleep?"

"Fine unless you count the headache, but that's gone now." Said Kyla with a careless wave of her hand from where she was searching through the first cabinet she came to. Well at least that was one thing she could be glad about in this entire crazy situation, and that was that she didn't feel like someone was beating her head with a sledgehammer. Once was enough for that, and she knew she didn't want a repeat anytime soon.

He turned around setting a frying pan on the stove and turned it on. " Scrambled eggs, and pancakes sound good to you?" He went about setting the table before to long. " I am glad you are better." He smiled.

"That's fine with me, and that's a first. I can't say anyone has ever been that concerned about me before." Said Kyla as a somewhat bewildered expression appeared on her face. True she was starting to grow more accustom to the sense that she wasn't actually a slave here, but seeing as Cole had really appeared to be worried about her now that was new all together. Though she had to admit, she kind of liked the way it felt but at the same time she was still a little wary of the whole situation.

Cole just smiled, " I care about a lot of people, it is who I am, well who I am now, when I was younger I wasn't so careing." He start mixing the pancake batter in the bowl, then went about cooking the egs, " sunny side, or overeasy eggs?" He remembered that when he was a kid him and his sister used to cook together all the time, something he enjoyed doing.

"Overeasy, and I wonder what changed you then. Or is that a subject you'd rather not discuss?" Asked Kyla as she sat down in the nearest chair she came to and just watched Cole with an unreadable look on her face. Truth be told she was getting a little more curious about him, but she'd never felt brave enough to ask questions until now.

He cracked the eggs and began to cook them, " When I was younger I was a very troublesom kid, always finding something to do that would hurt others in some way. I never realy understood why I did it, maybe because I found that my mother was dying of some disease, or that when my little sister was born I became jealouse. Well it continued for a couple years, then I decided to leave home, thinking it would be best for everyone." He placed the eggs and the warm pancakes on a plate and placed it in front of Kyla, " milk or juice?" He set a cup down and placed two pitchers of the drinks down. " Well after I moved I began to see what my father kept telling me, that I would never make it if I kept acting the way I did. I found that out the hard way, I one night messed with the wrong person and they turned me into what I am today, a vampire. Several months, close to a year I went back home, only to find my family and the village had been destroyed. I always blamed myself for my families death, I never got to say goodbye or give them a proper burial." He sat down across form Kyla and began to eat. " How did you become a servant for other people?" Cole asked, not knowing much about Kyla.

Kyla seemed to cringe somewhat from Cole's question, but decided to answer it anyway. After all there wasn't much to tell really, so what was the point in hiding it now. The only catch was that there were so many holes in her life that Kyla couldn't even explain herself, and that did leave her a bit miffed at times.

"Well, all I know is that evidently I was born a slave. I don't know who my family was or if they had even been slaves themselves, but for as far back as I can remember that's the life I've lived. Though the thing is no one ever bought me from my former master until your friend Jayden brought me here, and even then I was just kept like a prisoner until I ended up here."

" If you want I could help you find out more, no one should be left without knowing their parents." He thought of some ideas, possibly her full name and birthdate could be put in a database and search until something relevantly close to her showed up. " Would you like some more to eat?" He stood up taking his plate to the sink and set it down, filling the sink with warm water. " Jayden has not been informed of what happened here, and I don't want him to know, soemthing seemed odd on how the person sliped through security." That was another thing that had confused him about the other night, how Blitz got past the cameras hidden in one of the painting near the entrances of the building. Also how he got past the triggers across the floor, " maybe I need to check the security again, make sure it is working properly." He thought as he sat back down at the table.

"Well, he certainly won't hear anything from me because as much as I don't like admitting it I don't really trust him all that much." Said Kyla as she stood up and placed her own plate in the sink. Just something about Jayden had set her off from the moment she looked at him, of course that could be just her anyway so maybe it was a needless comment.
"And as for looking for who my family might have been, feel free to try but I'm not getting my hopes up."

" Well, only if you want me to look for them, it is up to you. You seem to have a good sense in judgment, I get that feeling every so often, yet I seem to ignore it." Walking back to the club he went upstairs to his office. Pressing the button under his desk a wall began to move to the side, exposing a controle room, filled with security equipment. " Now how might that have gotten there?" he asked in a whisper and he made his way to the main computer. There on the main screen a virus had been sent through to the whole system. " I think I found how the person got in without triggering the alarms." Turning he searched the other computers, wires were cut, viruses sent through, the whole thing was a mess. " Have a plan to catch our bug?" Rainsing his brow Cole looked to Kyla, wondering if she thought same as him. Only one person new the secret way in, and that was Jayden. " I think your feeling is right, Jayden is not to be trusted." Smileing with a not so polite smile, he walked to where the door once stood, a single stand of hair barely visible from the broken frame. It hurt to be betrayed, but he thaught there might have been a reason, yet no matter what the reason, it would never bring his trust up again for anyone he worked with.

For what felt like hours Kyla said nothing, and apparently it was because she was thinking over the entire situation.
"Still something doesn't seem right, Jayden seems like the kind of person who won't do anything unless there's something in it for him. At least that's the impression I had the first time I saw him, so what could he gain by helping this Blitz character?" Kyla questioned, even though she knew there was no way she'd have a straight answer yet. That wouldn't come until they figured out who exactly was behind all this, and like it or not Kyla had all ideas it had much to do with that crystal orb Cole had showed her earlier. Which meant that if it was connected to her somehow now, then no doubt she was more of a liability then she'd like to be at this point.

That was something Cole was not able to answere, yet Kyla was right, he wouldn't do anything unless offered something. " I think it wise we get you somewhere safe before to long, I will call in to get a private jet ready, then put you on a regular plane, that way they would think your on the jet, when you will be on the plane." He wasn't sure it was a very good idea but it was as safe as could be, he could take the private jet while she took the plane, that way if someone decides to try something, he would know it. " I won't call anyone, the lines could be tapped, including the cell and pager. What I will do is buy new ones under a false name and place your ticket under a false name and send you to my old hometown. It has change over the years but that is one plae Jayden doesn't know about." Grabbing the car keys he motioned for Kyla to follow, he was going to get the stuff ready now. " I don't want you to get hurt so I hope this works." Like it or not Cole was begining to like the girl as a sister, she reminded him of his sister so much. " You can pick up some new stuff, and I will get the travel kit ready for you. I will call from a phone booth and have Malic meet you there, she will take you to the cabin." He started the car, taking the long way to the airport.

"And in other words, don't get caught and stay out of trouble." Said Kyla as if she was summarizing everything Cole had just said. Of course leave it to her to think of something that neither of them probably would have come up with until now.
"But what about that orb thing? Won't this Blitz guy come back after that again?" She asked with a suspicious look in her violet eyes. Like it or not that was apparently what Blitz was after, and if Jayden was in on whatever scheme he was planning then they would need to get their hands on that first. At least that's what she thought anyway but she could be way off on that theory.

" The orb will stay with me, I will make a look alike, keep both with one hidden in its origanal place. With the real one I will place it somewhere else, right now I can't leave it with you." Pulling into the parking lot of the airport he bought a ticket, ordered a private jet, then waited back in the car. The phone began to ring, " This is Cole." " Planning a trip are we buddy?" Jayden's voice mocked into Coles' ear. " Yes I am, like it is any of your business. By the way, I need someone to look after the club and Galery for me till I get back." It was dangerous leaving the place with Jayden but hopefully it would throw him off for a bit. " Got to go." Cole hung up then pulled around the corner near the plane. Pulling out more cash he handed it to Kyla, " that sums it up. Also get on flight 352, I booked you for 251, just sneak on the other one, it is covered." With a wave he handed he the freshly bought cell, " I hate this, I was always told my past would catch up, it just chose a bad time." With an almost sad smile he waited for the second plane. " It will be over soon." He got on the jet, hopeing Jayden would follow.

"Just watch yourself alright, the last thing I need is to hear you got yourself killed for some crazy reason." Said Kyla, and despite her rather strange way of saying it it was still obvious this whole split up plan had her edgy. However, she went with it since it might be their only chance to throw off whoever was tailing them and the more of an advantage they had the better off they were.
So with that thought in mind she easily snuck on board the flight labled 352, which wasn't very difficult with all the extra crowds, and once the plane was in the air she took the opportunity to glance down at the cellphone Cole had given her. Just for safety's sake she set in on vibrate and placed it in the pocket of her pants so she'd know if it rang, that way if anyone might try and listen in they wouldn't hear the cellphone ring. She'd turn the ring back on later, but for now Kyla decided it was safer to keep it silent.

" I will be alright Kyla, you be careful also." Getting on the jet he looked out the window, closly watching the blue sudan slowly make its way towards the exit. " just two more hours and I will be back." He thought as he watched the orb, still not able to touch it. Taking out his phone he texted Malic letting her know they were ready. It was time to stop this, and it was to only take a few hours. By destroying the orb, it could end this, hopefully.

Kyla couldn't say for sure how long the plane ride lasted since she never bothered to check the time. However, it had to have been a few hours at least since it was almost sundown by the time the plane landed, and it was steadily growing darker even as she made her way into the airport itself. At this point Kyla had no idea where she was suppose to go or what to do next, so for now she just found a spot that no one would notice and sat down while trying to figure out where to go from here.

Walking through the corridor, Cole made his way to the entrance of the Cathredral. " I believe the time has come were our kind is in danger, He has come back to destroy us all." Cole looked around at the others alike, and the others different. Yes this could destroy the vampires, but it also could destroy many other creatures. " There has been copies made of the orb, each one of you will carry an orb, the real orb though will be hidden someplace safe." Passing out each orb copy, he watched as the others nodded, they understood, and they knew it was time. The only thing they did not know was, the real orb had been hidden long before he even left from the airport.

The woman was dressed in blue, almost like sapphire, which hid under the long trench she wore. She searched the crowd as she spotted the young girl, taking her sunglasses off she walked towards the girl. Making her way to the girl she stopped beside were the girl sat. " Kyla I presume?" She reached out her hand, " I am Malic, Cole's assistance from back home. Lets go, and please don't be frightened, I won't hurt you." The place wasn't to far from the airport, but it would take awhile. " Cole said he will get ahold of you soon." Looking to the girl she smiled, he was right, she was familiar.

Kyla didn't really say much as she followed Malic out of the airport, but it was still obvious she was a little suspicious of the circumstances. However, with the situation as it was she decided to just throw caution to the wind for now since it seemed someone even more dangerous was stalking them down. Still it didn't make sense how one person could be this much of a threat, but then again she didn't even know much about the situation except what Cole had told her and even that had only been a rather general explanation.
Either way for now all Kyla could do was go along with whatever Cole had planned, and hope he knew what the hell he was doing cause she certainly didn't have much to go on.

Leaving the Cathedral he made his way to a phone booth. Dialing the cell he waited as it rang, then he hung up. One call, no answere, meant the meeting was over. What was to happen next was to wait for them to attack, and then it would end. What was going on had been around for several years, it just took time before anything damaging coud happen, it was up to him and Kyla if the race of others would survive. He dialed a different nuber hoping to catch Kyla.

By this time, Kyla and Malic had already reached where they would be staying for now and she had just vanished into her own room before the cell phone that was still in her pocket vibrated. Without even thinking about it she grabbed it and flipped it open, but she didn't bother looking at the number that was displayed on the screen since she didn't even know herself what number Cole might be using in the first place.

"Hello?" She said as she sat down on the bed and waited to hear who had called her.

[Blood+Fury]

" Hi, just checking in, everything is alright, im still alive. The orb is safe and this all should be over with in a couple days. How are you doing?" He was a little worried, Cole wasn't sure if it was a good idea to send her away, but it was safe, he hoped. He paced the gallery floor, waiting for Jayden.

"Well, I'm still in one piece so I guess that says something." Said Kyla with a shrug of her shoulders. In all honesty she hadn't noticed anything suspicious since arriving so there wasn't much she could tell Cole at this point. While that was something to be relieved about, she kind of hated that she didn't have more to say but maybe that meant whatever or whoever was after them had given up for now.

[Blood+Fury]

" That is good, I am glad you are alright. I found out something, the orb can be destroyed, and I am going to do that. When the orb is detroyed there will be no more problems." Cole turned around sensing someone had entered through the club doors. Jayden standing along side Blitz. " I must go, I will call you back when I am done." He hung up, took the chip from the phone and destroyed it. " When this is all over with you will leave?" Cole asked, making sure the contract would stick. " Of course, just as long as you keep to your side of the deal." Blitz said.

Kyla just glanced at the cellphone with a quizzical expression on her face, but she just shrugged before flipping it closed and placing it back in her pocket. Since there wasn't much else she could do for now Kyla dug through the bag she had brought with her and pulled out her sketchbook, then began working on the drawing she hadn't finished yet. At the same time she listened out for the cellphone since Cole had told her he would call back as soon as he could.

It took about a day for Cole to find the exact location to where he hid the orb, the only reason it took him that long was he didn't want to lead them straight to it, he wanted them to get a little frustrated, maybe a little unaware. Taking the orb in his hand it began to glow, which was not a good sign for him, but it would do. Placing it on the mantel he picked up the second peice of the orb. He knew there was two peices, the orb and the sword, which both together would harm all of humanity. Taking the sword he swung, missing on purpose, hitting Blitz across the arm. Recieving a glare from Blitz Cole swung again, listening to the orb shatter. A bright light filled the room, and the tempature began to rise. Covering his eyes Cole watched, his hand was beginging to hurt. When everything was done and said, he went back home. Blitz was gone and Jayden would be leaving, Cole still had some explaining to do. He went upstaris to the bathroom, opened the medicine cabinet and put soem salve on the burn, then wrapped it tightly. Picking up the phone he called Kyla back. " Hey, sorry about yesterday, I had someone stop by. The orb is gone for good, I will be comeing down there tomorrow, then after a week of a vacation, if you want we can head back. Sorry if it was weird, I hope Malic was alright." He had spoken with Malic an hour after the orb was destroyed, she had found something very strange in the papers back home, she found something that hopefully Kyla would like.

"About time you called me, I was starting to wonder what was going on down there." Said Kyla as she stopped working on her drawing long enough so that she could talk to Cole. Then again that was mainly so she didn't end up messing up her drawing since she finally felt brave enough to let him see what she'd been working on. Actually by now she had several pages that were filled with sketches she had done, but had never let anyone see until now.
"Well as far as I know nothing's happened down here, so I don't have much to tell. Then again I haven't been outside much since Malic seemed to think it would have been to risky for me to leave for some reason. Don't ask me why cause she sure didn't give me a reason when I asked."

[Blood+Fury]

Chuckling he shook his head, " That is Malic for you, she is very protective when it comes to people she likes, ans she does seem to forget reasons when asked soemthing. I think I do the same thing though, don't I?" He was boarding the plane as he was talking to her. She seemed happy, or he hoped she was, he was nervouse, of course after what he was told he should be.

"Well, not that I know of but that's only because I haven't been around long enough to notice." Said Kyla, and that was true if they really thought about it. However, she wasn't really keeping track of much either since she saw no reason to but maybe in some ways that was a good thing.

" Oh, alright. Hey I will talk to you tomorrow, I am going to head to bed. Good Night.'' He sat there lookin gout the window as the plane started to take off. He watched the clouds wisp by as the sky began to darken. In the morning he would be home, " home, he thought. A place I have not been to since the death of my family." He closed his eyes, resting his other hand on the one bandaged. " To new memories." He had a new painting in his bag, along with the one he gave Kyla already, along with a few belongings. Maybe being back home would be a good thing, he could start over when he got there. Many hours passed when he woke up to the plane starting to land. He looked out the window again, shocked out how much his home land had changed through out the years. Deciding to walk the five miles to his old home he made sure to let Malic know not to tell Kyla he was already there. He reached for his cell and called Kyla.

This time Kyla actually recognized the number that was displayed on the cellphone when it rang, and she quickly grabbed it before it could ring again.
"So what's up this time?" She asked since Cole would know what she meant by that question. That was just her way of asking how things were going on his end and to let her in on anything new that might be happening right then.

[Blood+Fury]

" Hey, not much, everything is going well. Blitz left for good, Jayden is leaving for good, and I think I need to look for a new assistant. Could you do me a favor?" He smiled as he stood at the front door, peeking through the window then moved. " Anything new on your side?"

"Well no, so what do you want me to do?" Asked Kyla, seeing as she was completely oblivious to the fact that he was standing right outside the door right then. Of course that was because she didn't even know he had been heading down there since early that morning, and she hadn't thought of that possibility yet with all the crazy stuff that had happened as of late.

[Blood+Fury]

" Can you unlock the front door for me, I still can't find the hidden key. Has something happened, are you alright?" Something worried him, something in her voice. Picking up the bags he kept the phone on the line.

"Did he just say........" For a few seconds Kyla just sat there wondering if she'd heard what he'd said correctly, but after that initial shock she jumped up from where she was sitting and raced towards the door. Unfortunately she almost ran right into Malic at the same moment, but that certainly didn't stop her as she quickly pulled the door open and hugged Cole before he could even get inside.
Okay so yes she was really glad to see him, but considering he was one of the only friends she'd ever had that really wasn't very surprising.

Dropping the bags and hanging up the phone Cole hugged back. " missed you." He was suprised at the hug but was happy she was finaly trusting him this much. Looking to Malic he laughed, " no matter how hard you try, you still get ran over by people." Still hugging Kyla he mived inside, leaving the bags on the front step. " Has everything been alright, you sounded like there was somethign wrong when I was talking to you?" he looked to Kyla.

"Well unless something's happened that I don't know about, everything's fine." Said Kyla as she glanced at Malic as if silently asking whether she was right or not. Although she didn't say anything about the way Malic had been acting all secretive lately, and she seemed to be really excited about something but everytime she asked she never would get a straight answer.

" ok, well then if Malic is ready we can tell you something. Maybe after some lunch I'm starving." Unlike other vampires, he ate food just like humans, but he still needed blood, he had his supply in his suitcase. " I will go wash up and then help make some lunch, then after lunch Malic will fill me in on the rest of the news and then we will tell you what she found." Grabbing the bags he took them upstairs to his old room, god, being back in this house was hard, it brought back to many emotions, to many memories. Walking into the bathroom he cut the bandage wrap from around his hand and examind the burn, " it will still take a couple three weeks to completly heal. " he heard Malic say from the doorway. " I know." Cole washed his hands, re bandaged his one hand then wwalked downstairs alongside Malic. " Are you going to tell me the rest of what you found, or are you waiting till we tell Kyla?" he asked her as he went into the kitchen. " wait" was all she said as she went to her office. " What should we have for lunch?" he asked Kyla, a smile still on his face. * just like old times* he thought.

"Well.......I'm not really sure to be honest. I really don't even know what's here cause I haven't done much exploring myself." Said Kyla, which was a little strange for her since she rarely went somewhere new without looking around. However, with the situation being as it was she didn't want to end up getting into trouble, so she'd stayed in her own room for most of the time. That left her a little lost as to what all was in this house, but everyone else seemed to know it well enough that she hadn't worried about it.

Cole nodded, " true. How about stir fry with home made bread and a cake? What kind of cake?" He was in a good mood, cooking again, even though he left the club and the gallery behind, he was sure the new owner would keep it the way it was when he left. He wasn't going to tell her he sold the club and the gallery, he was hoping to get a new gallery started here, maybe build another building next to the house. He was also having all the paintings and other stuff shipped down here. His bank accounts were transfered, and now all he was waiting for was the rest of what Malic found out. " Or we could fix, egg rolls, lobster bits, cream dela cream ( pudding), and cheese and we will substitute the wine with sparkling soda. You can decide."

"I think I'm kind of partial to the stir fry idea, since that's one thing I can cook without burning it." Said Kyla as she blushed from embarresment at admitting that she couldn't cook very well. Yes she had tried before, but normally it ended very badly so eventually she gave up.

" that sounds good to me, stir fry it is." Looking around he noticed that the cuboards were bare, " well I guess thats what i get for moving away for so long, and not keeping the house stocked with food." he said in a whisper. " I think it would be a good idea to get some groceiries first." He bowed his head, * I can't believe I forgot the house wasn't stocked.* " I will walk back to town, if I can remember where everything is here, it has been several centuries since I was last here. Would you like to go with me?" He told Malic where he was going, and that he would be back later, also he asked if he could tell Kyla some of what she found out. With a yes in his mind he stopped at the front door.

"Alright lead the way." Said Kyla as she appeared right behind Cole. She'd been stuck in this house long enough that she jumped at the chance to get out, and since she hadn't seen much of the town itself she was curious as to what was out there. Also she'd overheard Malic and Cole talking about something, and when her name came up she was a little curious as to what they had been talking about so hopefully she might get some answers if she went with him.

With a smile Cole held the door open, " ladies first." Then shut the door behind them as they began to walk to town. The sky was blue, the air fresh, something different than what it was like back then. " Malic and I were talking, she found out who your parents were, the only thing was, she wouldn't tell me the rest of what she found, so I am only able to tell you some. Malice searched your family history, and found that when you were little your parents died, someone that was supposed to be a friend of your parents took you in to raise you, no one knew you would be raised to be a slave though." He was still nervouse, he didn't like telling her that her parents had died, and he didn't want her to relive her past, now that she has started a new life. " that is all I know, Malice said she would tell us the rest after lunch." After getting lost for about the fourth time, Cole decided to finaly ask for directions, blushing from embarresment, " I guess it has been to long." then looked to Kyla. " If I remember and if it is still here, there is a carnival across town near the ocean. If you want we can go later on, if it is still there." That was another thing he had to ask, he wanted to make sure it was there. He was happy to know that it was. After picking up some grocieries, he decided to ask something, " would you like to keep exploring before we head back?"

At first Kyla didn't have much to say about this new bit of information she had about her own parents. However, though it answered a few questions she had, it was clear there was more to the story and evidently Cole didn't even know it himself. So she didn't bother asking since obviously Malice intended to tell what she found out later that day.
"Alright, I guess I would like to see a little more of the town itself before we head back."

[Blood+Fury]

He felt bad he didn't know much, and was hoping Malic had a good reason for waiting on the rest of the info. " Ok, that sounds good, we can get lost for awhile then ask how to get back, does that sound alright?" * you will have to tell her soon* Malic's voice rang through his head, * I know* as he quieted his thoughts. " would you be mad at me if I told you something?" He wasn't sure if now was a good time to tell her he sold the club and the gallery, but he would ahve to before to long.

"What do you want to tell me?" Asked Kyla as she eyed Cole with a questioning look. Why did he think she'd get mad about him telling her something? Unless it was something he would expect her to get mad about but that didn't seem likely.

Shifting the bags to his other arm he kept walking. " well I sold the club and the art gallery. They are both under new ownership and all my stuff, the art work and the club equipment are being shipped here." Finding the park he set the bags on a bench then sat down, the park wasn't to far from the carnival.

"But what made you decide to sell them?" Asked Kyla, since she was more curious as to why he'd done that then anything else. True it may have been the first place she ever could have called a real home, but she wasn't about to get uptight about what Cole decided to do until she knew more about the whole situation.

" well I figured that a fresh start was in order. I had the club for three year, and the gallery for maybe two weeks, but I can start over down here. A new Art Gallery, with old and new art, maybe a club if I want to start another one. Also if this doesn't sound to odd, i was kind of home sick, I haven't been back here since my families death, and I think thats why I was having the flashbacks. I think I was supposed to come back, to start over." Looking at his watch he wondered if they should head back, his stomach sure did since it started to growl.

"Well guess that does make sense, but now that I think about it do you think we should head back?" Asked Kyla, but since she wasn't wearing a watch she couldn't tell what time it was. So she had to rely on Cole knowing the exact time, at least until she ever decided to start wearing a watch of her own.

Once they'd managed to sort everything out, Kyla began grabbing everything they'd need if they were going to make stir fry like they planned. Thankfully what she had said earlier about it being the only thing she could cook was true, at least as long as she was careful and didn't make any crazy mistakes like she was known to do.

" Would you like me to help?" He began to set the table, then helped get the stuff out. " I could make the bread."

"That might be a good idea, since that'll lower my chances of making a mess of things." Said Kyla and despite it being true it was still a little weird admitting that to him. Well at least she didn't seem to mind telling more about herself now, so that had to mean something maybe.

" Alright, i will help keep an eye on it." He started making the dough for the bread and poped it in the oven. * least Im smart enough to remember to keep the gas and other utilities up and running, along with paid.* After getting the table set Cole set two candles in the center of the table, lighting them he smiled. * just like the old times*. He was begining to feel better after leaving, and having everything bad leave. He was also glad Kyla was feeling more at home here and he hoped she would soon like Malic, for he had something to tell both of them.

Luckily, Kyla actually managed to finish cooking without burning anything and once it was finished she set the stir fry out on the table.
"So what do you think Malice wants to tell us?" She asked since at this point she was guessing at different theories that could fit what Malice was going to say.

Malic walked into the kitchen, " it smells delicious." sitting down she waited for the others. " I hope it is alright to announce this at lunch. I found out that Kyla, being half and half, she is actualy related to someone from this town." Smiling she looked to Cole, then Kyla.
Cole sat dumbfounded after what Malic had said. " Who is she related to?" was all he was able to ask as he watched her look at the both of them. Cole placed some of the food on his plate then went to take the bread out of the oven, cut it then placed it on the table.

At first Kyla just looked at Malic with a stunned expression on her face, but that's before the shock of what she'd just heard wore off.
"Well who is it then, or better yet are they even still here?" She asked, but why she wanted to know so badly all of a sudden she didn't know.

Malic just smiled, " they are here alright, you sitting next to him. I found out that Kyla is your sister, she wasn't killed long ago, she survived." Taking a bite of bread she put some of the stir fry on her plate.
Cole just stared at Malic, not sure if he realy heard what she said. * Could that explain the flashbacks?* he asked himself as he looked to Kyla. " My sister?"

"W-what? But wait a sec, how's that possible?!" Stammered Kyla since she was just as shocked at hearing this as Cole was. How could she really be his sister and neither of them have known it? Well she wouldn't have because she had always believed she didn't have any family, and he thought his entire family had been murdered but still it just didn't make sense.

" That is what I thought, but I did some more research on Cloe's side of the family, and comes to find out, she had a child before the attack on the village. Yes his family was killed, but you were sent away before the attack. I guess they knew what was coming and thought that it would be good to have one child suvive if they didn't." She looked to Cole, " they thought you were dead because you never came back all those years. I found your mothers journal while searching for information on Kyla." She placed the journal on the table for them both to read if they wanted.
Cole stopped eating, he set his plate in the sink and stared at the table. * all this time*. He was glad to find he had family, but now he was uncertain if he should ask Malic the question he has had in mind for a couple months.

For what felt like hours Kyla just sat there in a semi-stunned silence. She never in her life had guessed she ever had a family of her own, but now to find out this? It just felt like way to many emotions were mixing together over this information, and it left her confused as to how she should even respond to hearing this.

"Well, I guess that answers our questions." Said Kyla and without giving anyone a chance to reply to her comment she walked up the stairs and vanished into her own room. Once she had closed the door behind her she sat down on her bed and carefully removed the locket Cole had given her from around her neck. For the longest time she just held it in her hand as she glanced at it as if she'd never seen it before, but now she saw it from an entirely new perspective.
"This wasn't just his mother's locket......it was our mother who wore it." She thought to herself as she trailed her finger over the faint lines and patterns that were engraved on the silver colored locket, and for the first time ever in her life she finally let herself cry for the family she had lost and never known.

Watching Kyla walk upstairs, Cole stayed at the table. It was best to let her have some alone time, it was information that was hard to believe. It brought out so many things at once. Finaly getting up Cole excused himself from the table, leaving the black box that was in his pocket on the table in front of Malic. Walking outside he went to the peir, a place he enjoyed to visit when he was eight. Letting his legs dangle from the dock he watched the sun begin to set. * I think I should talk with Kyla* He told himself. Getting up he walked back to the house. Walking up stairs he knocked on her door. " is it alright that I come in?" He fought back the tears that were trying to escape, he wanted to wait till he was on his own to cry, no one has ever seen him cry, and he wanted to keep it that way, it was just who he was.

Kyla had already stopped crying long before Cole came back, but she still had the tell-tale tearstains on her face she she quickly wiped them away before answering.
"Yeah, it's fine." She said while trying to make her voice sound as normal as possible. She had never cried much in her life so she didn't want him to figure out that she'd even been crying in the first place.

He walked in, looking around. " will you be alright? I know this is kind of a shock for you." He sat in one of the chairs uncertain to what he should do. " I have one more painting, I was hoping it doesn't seem like a bad time. I painted it after you left, I wasn't sure why, I just started painting." He placed the painting on the bed beside Kyla, it was a painting of Cole and Kyla and their parents. " Do you still like to draw?" he wondered.
Malic stared at the box, then carefuly picked it up. Hoping it was something like a bracelet she opened it, only to find it contained a ring. Shutting the box, those from upstairs could hear the front door slam. She walked as far as she could to much in one day, that was all it was.

"Well, yes I do but there just sketches I'd come up with without really thinking about it." Said Kyla as she handed Cole her sketchbook before lightly trailing her finger across the painting he'd placed next to her. For some reason, seeing that painting made a small piece of her feel like it moved back into place within her. Like a piece from a puzzle that couldn't be found anywhere, but had finally been placed where it belonged. She hadn't been hated or unwanted like she had believed for so long, and reaching that realization made her feel much different then she ever had before.

Looking through the sketchbook, Cole smiled, " these are wonderful." In his mind he though it all out. Many peoples art would be in the new art gallery, he would place hers in it also, amongst the other artists. He wanted it to be a surprise, after all He already had the building plan and the architech worked out, it would only take about three months maybe a little more to get it finished. " What should the name of the art gallery here at home be called?" He thought of something that had to do with a family business, " I was thinking it could be known as a family business." He smiled, it felt good knowing he had family alive, yet hearing the door slam, he wasn't to sure if there would be more family to come.

"Well, I guess that's a start with figuring out what to call it." Said Kyla, but that's when she heard the door slam downstairs. Since Malic had been the only other person there she guessed she had left, but what had she left in such a hurry for in the first place? Well she wasn't about to go asking questions yet so she didn't voice what she was thinking.

Cole thought for a minute," How about, Kyla And Cole's Art Gallery?" He was throwing out ideas for a name, wondeering if it still needed work. " Maybe De'Delinion Family Art?" Cole wondered for a second after sayuing that, if Kyla wanted to use the last name, he wasn't sure if she had one already for whoever raised her. Cole took a deep breath, trying to releive his nerves, he thought to himself if he should tell Kyla about asking Malice to marry him. Getting ready to speak he decided not, he would wait a couple weeks before he does. " What ideas do you have, anything is good."

Malice waded in the ocean, letting the currents push her further out, taking a swim or hiking was her way of clearing her mind. * a ring, a ring for gods sake.* He thoughts rambled on and on, only able to picture the ring and Cole. * what is he thinking, why?* Finaly after swimming about two miles out she decided to head back to shore, yet she wouldn't head home for awhile. Back on the sandy shore she laid down on one of the rocks, stareing at the blue sky.

"I think, I like the second idea better. It just has a better sound to it." Said Kyla after she had taken a few minutes to think over the options. For some reason she just liked the way the second option had sounded, but maybe that was more from the fact that she finally felt like she belonged somewhere for once in her life. It was still kind of strange finding out that Cole was actually her brother, but at the same time the more she thought about it the more she liked it.

Smiling Cole nodded, " It does sound better. Would you like to design what the sign will look like, llike lettering and stuff?" He wasn't sure how the new art gallery would be like, but at least it would be designed by the family. Feeling like he should mention a little of what happened downstairs Cole took another deep breath. " Kyla, what would you think if I told you I liked someone, like as more than a friend I have known for years?" He hesitated, shaking some, it was odd asking this, yet he wasn't sure why.

"Well if it's Malic we're talking about then I don't have any problem with it." Said Kyla with a slight shrug of her shoulders. If Cole liked Malic as more then a friend then she certainly didn't mind all that much, plus it wasn't really her place to mess in any relationships he might have in the first place.

" Yeah" was all he was able to say, yet he still wondered if it was a bad idea for Malic left. He shook his head, clearing his mind. " What would you like to do today,want to keep exploring the town, visit places, whatever you would like to do?" He decided to leave the last subject alone, for it would all clear up later. Standing up he looked around. " Decorate?" He wasn't sure what all to do, but it would be better than being stuck at home, plus it would give him a chance to get to know Kyla better.

"Actually, I think I like the exploring idea better." Said Kyla as she stood up from where she was sitting on the bed. In all honesty she was a little curious about this entire town, but she hadn't wanted to go off looking around on her own.

Smiling Cole walked into the hallway, " Exploring it is, I like the idea." Looking to the end of the hallway he noticed something on the wall. He stared at it for a long time, wondering when it was put there, it wasn't there when he left home so many years ago. The person in the painting just stared endlessly, this peron did not look familiar at all. Brushing away the creepy feeling Cole looked back to the stairs, " want to bring anything with you?" Wondering if he should find a camera or something.

"No not that I know of." Said Kyla as she walked downstairs without even noticing the painting. Of course she wouldn't have realized it hadn't been there before since this was her first time ever coming here.

" Alright. Are you interested in going to the carnival?" That was one of many activities he could think of, along with exploring the mountains about a mile back from the house.

"Alright, but you'll have to lead the way cause I have no idea where it is." Said Kyla as she glanced back up the stairs as if waiting for Cole to join her before she walked out the door. What he seemed so interested in staring at she couldn't figure out, unless it was that weird painting at the end of the hallway. She had to admit it was a little eerie looking, but it was just a painting and nothing more then that.

Turning around Cole followed, " that much I do remember, is how to get to the carnaval. It is down by the peir, and at sunset the water looks like it is ablaze with flames." Walking down the stairs he looked around the empty room, Malic was still gone. * to the best I suppose* he thought. Grabbing his jacket he checked for his stuff then opened the front door. " after you," he said with a bow.

Despite her attempt to keep it hidden, Kyla couldn't help but let a small laugh escape her as she stepped out of the house. However, she easily muffled it with her hand so maybe no one heard. As weird as it may be she still wasn't use to being able to show any emotion so freely, but at least for now it looked like that was changing pretty quickly.

Cole didn't want Kyla to know he heard her, so he just smiled, taking a left down to the peir. Looking around, he noticed the place had grown more. " What would you like to do first?" Not sure himself what to do when they got there.

"Good question." Said Kyla once they had reached the carnival itself. Needless to say she had never been to a carnival once in her life, so she was a little shocked by the large crowds of people and everything that was going on at once. Okay she was more then a little shocked, and she felt a little lost as this point but at least Cole evidently knew his way around so that was one source of encouragement.

He looked up thinking, " how about the farris wheel, that way you get a sky veiw of the village." He pointed to the wheel, the was beginging to light as the sun went down. " It is always pretty to see at night, all the lights on the rides."

"Okay then, lets start there." Said Kyla as she looked up at the ferris wheel. Although she had to admit, going up that high did make her a little nervous but not enough that she was terrified or anything like that. Then again she always felt skittish whenever she attempted something she'd never done before in her life, so that really wasn't anything new.

Nodding He made his way to the line, paying for two tickets and waited as the line got shorter and shorter. Handing the tickets to the person he held out his hand to let Kyla on first then he would seat himself next.

Kyla quickly climbed into the seat and despite her own uneasiness about going up higher, she couldn't resist glancing out just to see how much of the town she could actually see as the ferris wheel turned to allow more people to climb into any empty seats.

Cole looked to Kyla, " are you nervouse?" sensing something. He watched as the ferris wheel lit, and more people got on, then after the last person the ride started, suspending them even further into the now growing darker sky.

"Well kind of since I can't say I've been this high up above the ground before, but I'm not terrified." Said Kyla as another thoughtful look crossed her face. Actually, she'd never been off the ground period except for the past ride in that airplane and she wasn't even sure if that counted for much or not.

Nodding Cole looked aorund, so much had changed since he was gone, the place grew more with every passing. " Well can I tell you a little secret, I am afraid of heights, have been since I was little. Yet growing up in this place and in the city, I got used to it, but it still freaks me out a little." Smiling he kept the nervouse stomach of his calmed, " what next on the ajenda?"

"I'm not sure, but can I tell you something if you promise you won't think I'm strange for saying this?" Asked Kyla. Normally she would have just said what she wanted without even saying something like that, but as of late it seemed that the few points of her personality that she had kept hidden were starting to surface again.

I promise not to think you are strange." Cole crossed his heart, making sure she knew he wouldn't think anything wrong.

"Well, I was glad to finally find out what I know now but at the same time it's still a little different finding out that you're my brother and we never even suspected that." Said Kyla as she absentmindedly twisted a piece of her hair around her finger. Call that one of her habits she was known for, but whenever she was either nervous about something or thinking she would twist some of her hair around her finger. Of course that was mainly because she still wasn't sure whether what she said made any sense or not.

Cole thought for a minute, " you are right, it is still different, and it was odd not to know. Maybe for me why I didn't know was because I thought you died with our parents, i'm not so sure neither." He understood what she meant, and knew where she was coming from.

"But I'm guessing this was a case of you didn't care being proven wrong?" Asked Kyla as just the faintest hint of a smug smile appeared on her face. Yes she still had some hesitation in showing any emotion but at least that was wearing off to some degree. Although sometimes it was still a little hard to notice in the first place.

chuckling Cole nodded, " I don't mind being proven wrong, that has happened alot in my life, an example is you for one, and the other Jayden." Bringing his name up made his stomach wrench with sickness, he wasn't going to tell her he died along with blitz, or that they died by his hand, in order to protect his family. " I am thinking of opening up the new gallery tomorrow, in an old building near the house, want to help me host?"

"Only if you can overlook the fact that I tend to get nervous around crowds." Said Kyla with an almost embaressed sound to her voice. In most cases she thought she would have gotten over that by now, but still the thought of being in a room with a bunch of unknown people made her a little more skittish then normal. The only good thing was that she had some skill in hiding it, but not much.

" I remember now, I am sorry, I didn't mean to forget. I thought maybe it would be a good way for you to get to know people. Or you could run the music, any music you like would be good. Some of your art will be up for display also if you would like?" Cole wasn't sure if she liked the idea but hoped it sounded better then he thought.

"Well, if you think it's good enough to show then I really don't mind that much. And as for dealing with the crowd, I think I can find a way around that." Said Kyla, which was true in more ways then one. She had always found ways of staying unnoticed whenever she didn't want to be seen, so if nothing else she could find some way of working around the crowds. Either way it wasn't that big a deal that Cole had forgotten that little detail, and she certainly wasn't going to hold it against him that was for sure.

" I believe it is wonderful enough to show. I hope to have one wall dedicated to the family line. our whole ancestry up on the wall. Would that be alright?" The ride stopped and Cole got off, letting Kyla off first. " where to next."

"I kind of like that idea actually." Said Kyla as they started walking in a different direction. At least that way there'd be a place specifically for their own artwork, that is if she ever grew brave enough to start using her talent more often then she did now.

" I am glad the idea is what you like. Would you like to go home or ride some more?" Not sure of the time, or what all she wanted to do.
