The city of Mallepa: empty and deserted...ruined beyond inhabbitation. Humans are scarce there, only homeless people and stupid children running from home dare to challenge the dangers of Mallepa. Vampires survive there too...living off the blood of the weaker, not daring to ruin the peace they have convinced themselves of by hiding for many years. What happens when they decide to challenge humans to expand their territory?

Mallepa used to be a busy city, as Versailles remembered it. When the "first" vampire attacks hit the news, people began emptying the town. After generations had passed, people forgot about the attacks and just left the place forsaken. Humans still came and went through the town; humans with no where else to go. Typically never to be seen again...but hey, everything had to eat.

Versailles sat in the room of a large abandoned building, gently playing the piano. The building was still in decent condition, only faded a bit and dimmed with time. At the end of the prelude, he stood and went to the window. Night was almost at hand.

"Time to hunt~" Versailles said in a sing song voice, practically skipping out of the room.

Kai stepped over the rubble of one of the old buildings. It seemed to be an old grocery store. Only one wall was still standing and a few check out places. He began digging through the rock and such in search of food...anything that might have survived.

Kira lounged in her favorite place, an old club. Old couches, and chairs were left, and it was still, like right after closing time. She lounged on the soft couch which sat kitty cornered. Her current dominate personality was Ki, so, it was expected she had a stuffed animal with her. She was always carrying a stuffed panda with her. Oddly, she called him, Pandora.

Jinsai, was currently in the basement of a factory that him, and his colligues occupied, secretly. His current task now was sharpening his blade, seeing as it had grown ever so slightly dull. He knew it because of who it cut the last vampire he killed. Lets just say, it was a clean cut.

"Hey lazy ass wake up!" Alice yelled as she pounded on the door that led to Alec's room. Both Alice and Alec where currently living in a run down apartment building.Alice was not allowed on the floor that housed Alec's room but as always she ignored most of her sires rules. An angry growl came from the other side of the door as Alec climbed out of bed. "What the hell did I tell you about coming on to this floor!" He yelled as he jerked the door open. "Not to enter it." Alice said in a bored tone as she crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "I swear I regret the day I turned you." Alec growled at her as he slammed the door in her face. "Yeah yeah. You know that gets really old when you say it every day." Alice said with a laugh as she left Alec to get ready for the night. "I'll meet you down stairs in the court yard." She yelled over her shoulder as she made her way towards the stairs.

Seryth adjusted the strap of her pack on her shoulder as she made her way over the rubble of the city Mallepa. She sighed softly as she glanced behind her not exactly looking at what was there but more at what she was leaving behind at home. This made her move at a slightly faster pace.

Azmyth sat on his normal perch of a roof of a building that was still partally in tact. His pale grey eyes gazing blankly up at the night sky. He closed his eyes for a brief moment taking in the cool crisp air. The faint noise of the piano had stopped. "Verasailles must be heading out..." he mumbled softly as he opened his eyes and gazed out at the city.

Kira turned over on the couch. Apparently she was asleep, snuggling her panda close. Despite, she was a girl in her late teens, she looked very... childish, as she laid there. However, when something crashed out back, she stirred, and sleepily, she went to investigate.

Jinsai finally finished his sword, then tucked it away in his sheath which hung on his side. He then emurged on the lower level on the factory, seeing one of his colligues currently working on a piece of technology to aid them in their battles.

Varsailles had heard only part of Azmyth's comment. He picked up a small piece of rubble and threw it at his fellow vampire. The rock missed by miles. "Don't talk about me. I hate that!"

He wiped his hands on the ruffle of his dress and continued on his way.

Kai managed to find a few good cans of preserved peaches. The next problem, however, was how to open the bloody can...

Kai packed the few cans of fruit into his bag and began wandering again. Everyone knew it wasn't a good to stay in one place at one time....he thought....

Seryth continued her stumbling through the rubble. She sighed softly once again thanking the full moon giving off enough light to see. Of course she managed to trip over a rather large piece of the crumbled city. She landed on the rocks with a soft thud and the sound of a few of them shifting beneath her. "Dammit..." she mumbled as she felt a gash on her arm open.

Azmyth glanced over his shoulder at Varsailles. He stood up slowly. "I appologize my dear. I was only making an assumption," he said quietly before he was completely out of earshot. He jumped from the building landing on the ground lightly.

Alice was sitting on a bench near the center of the ratty looking court yard humming to herself quietly. "Will you shut up." Came a grumpy sounding voice from the shadows. A few seconds later Alec stepped out and int front of Alice. "O shut it, you know you love my wonderful voice." Alice said as she stood up from the bench. Alec just rolled his eyes and spun around on his heel. "Lets just go get some food." Alec said as he started to walk away from there apartment. Alice followed behind him a small bounce in her step as she looked around at the town.

Kana walked on the outskirts of Mallepa. She wasn't sure if she should enter or not. She heard her father screaming at her and felt his hand pounding on her. She quickly went into Mallepa without another thought.

Jacob walked around, letting the cold air sink in. He just wanted it to be night totally before he set out to eat. He thought about his purpose in life as he sat on the abandened stairs of an old house.

Upon, not seeing anything, Kira left the club. She began to roam around the streets. Here, it wasn`t werid for vampires to roam about, that was one thing she loved about this time of the world. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, Kira gave a yawn.

Jinsai left the factory, and hastily made his way into the city. It was time for more vampire hunting in his opinion.

Versailles turned and curtzied in response before starting to leave again. "Are you going to come join the hunt, Azmyth?"

"Damnit" was all Kai heard. He looked around, his gray eyes searching the area, trying to decide if he should take cover or not. A bit away, he saw a shape moving. He moved in closer, with a small pocket knife drawn in case.

"Who are you?" He asked through the darkness in a voice that was colder than was meant.

Kana wasn't sure what to do now that it was night. Vampires were around even the outskirts but now she was here?! She sighed and moved along the empty town.

Jacob left the house with his head hung low. He wasnted sure what to do at this point. He walked to the center of the city.

Seryth glanced up as she heard the voice of a young male if she wasn't mistaken. His voice was cold and the figure seemed to be holding a small pocket knife in his hand seeing the metal reflect in the dull moon light. "Depends on who's asking," she replied returning the cold tone with a bit of bite behind it. She winced as she leaned on her arm as she stood up feeling the warm blood drip off her arm.

Azmyth gave a nod in reply to Varsailles. "Of course. Its been some time since I have had fresh blood, and it is tempting when the scent of it is already in the air," he replied in the same soft tone as he glanced back out at the city.

Kira gave a low growl. "Where is food?" She hissed. "I`m starving..." She muttered as she searched threw ruins and wreckage for anyone who might be hiding. On her way, she passed by Azmyth and Versailles without noticing.

Jinsai turned on to a street. She came upon a young girl, and a boy. He moved behind a piece of rubbish, and watched quietly. He needed just a few minutes to figure out if both were human, or one was vampire, or both vampire.

Kana heard something, someone to be exact. It was a girl's voice and she had thought she heard a guy's voice before. She walked toward them curiosity taking advantage of her again.

Jacob moved with silent feet. He could smell blood in the city itself tonight. He smilied and walked towards it.

Alice and Alec both smelled the scent of human blood in the air and relished in its intoxicating scent. "It looks like a lot more humans are roaming the streets tonight." Alice said with a small smile on her face. "Eh well just means more food for us." Alec said with a smirk as he started to head in the direction of the blood. "Good cause I'm starving!" Alice said with a small laugh.

Versailles smiled sweetly, his fangs baring a bit. He walked over to where Azmyth was standing and put his arm in his. "Lead the way."

"Are you at least human?" Kai asked, as he inches closer. The blood on the girl's arm caught the moon and glistened. "Nevermind..."

Vampires typically didn't hurt themseves, so the clear sight of blood was enough to convince Kai that she was human. He scrambled over the rubble and chunks of concrete to get to her. He offered a hand in haste.

"Hurry up, before they come."

Seryth could only assume that the boy was human. She wasn't sure if it was the best idea for her to go with him. They would probably have the scent of her blood. She gently shook her head as she drew away from him. "As much as I'm sure you want to jump into the hands of the vampires, being with me wouldn't make things any easier," she replied.

Azmyth drew his arm from Varsailles'. He glanced over seeing Kira flash out of the corner of his eye. He started toward the scent of human blood he had caught on the night air. He wasn't quite sure if the others had caught the scent as well.

Jacob saw a girl now. Human girl to be exact. He walked by the side of her, the night sky covering him.

Kana walked along the sides of this place when she heard a voice. She shivered when she heard it, it was so cold and heartless. She turned to see a boy. She stepped back quickly seeing his fangs.

Alec and Alice where both rushing towards the scent. They knew that a handful of other vampires where more than likely making there way towards the scent. Both Alice and Alec wanted to reach the human first in hopes that they might be able to feed. This is getting ridiculous! Where having to fight each other to get any type of blood. Alec thought angrily as he basically flew down the streets of the city, with Alice by his side.

Versailles continued forward with Azmyth, humming a random song. He walked over random pieces of rock easily and with little acknowledgement to the surrounding. He enjoyed nights.

"Fine, suit yourself," Kai said without hesitation. He shrugged and began walking away. For a sec, he thought he something out of the corner of his eye, but decided the night was getting the best of him.

[Natomie]

Jacob could smell the blood but he did not go to it. Why would he when he had some blood that no other vampire was going after? "So I hope you said good-bye to your loved ones." He lunged for her.

Kana rolled out of the way not a moment to soon. She ran away trying not to die by the hands of this guy.

Seryth watched as the boy walked away. She took a step to the side as she started moving in a different direction. She moved swiftly over the rubble as she, with immense difficulty, pulled a bandana from her bag. She wrapped it as best she could around her bleeding arm as she picked up a little more speed knowing it would be almost useless to try to get away if they caught sight of her.

Azmyth started moving a little faster not exactly caring if Versailles followed suit or not. He could sence a few others around knowing it would be a bit of trouble since all of them were going after the same target.

"Nice reflexes girl," Jacob spoke as he came at her again. Kana didn't dare scream because that might attract other vampires to where she was. She did not want that.

[SweetMiracle]

"Yay Alec we just might be the first ones to reach the human!" Alice cheered as they drew closer to the human. At hearing his fledglings words Alec picked up his pace and drew closer to his prey. Both Alice and Alec could now see the faint out line of the human they where seeking.

Versailles did not care if he got any of the blood the rest were after. Instead he began wandering away, still humming. There was the sound of a bit of comotion not far, but he didn't change his pace or tone of manner. Two figures were soon visable. One was one Versailles recognized and the other one...well, it seemed to be a good night for hunting.

He wandered into veiw of the two and watched in amusment. "You are very mean, Jacob. Stop playing with your food."

Kai suddenly heard the sound of feet getting close. He couldn't see anyone...thing. He still had his pocket knife out and was prepared for anything. He ducked into some bushes and waited.

[Natomie]

Jacob laughed when Versailles said that. "Oh but it's so fun! Care to join me? I don't mind sharing and this human is on my nerves right about now."

Kana's eyes widened when the other vampire came. When the the vampire aparently named Jacob came after again she jumped up and landed on his back. She stomped on his back and then ran for it.

Seryth let herself speed up into a run in hopes to loose the vampires on her trail. She slid into a bit of a sheltered area trying to catch her breath. She leaned against the cold stone wall breathing heavily knowing she would have to start moving soon. She once again adjusted the strap of her bag so it wouldn't slide off her shoulder when she was running.

Azmyth continued following the scent. He then caught another figure diving behind some bushes. He smirked lightly knowing he wouldn't have competition for that human. He slowed his pace and calmly started walking over to the small bunch of bushes staying within the shadows so as not to be seen.

"Shame, shame," Versailles said. He sighed and offered a challenge to Jacob, "I bet I can reach her first."

Kai slowed his breathing as the vampire came closer. He recognized this one from previous nights. Kai crouched lower, deciding if he should make a run for it or if he should pray it went away. First choice won. Kai sprinted from the bushes in the opposite direction of the vampire.

Alec smiled over at Alice when he realized another vampire had dropped out of the hunt for there human. "It looks like its just you and me sharing this one." He told her as he turned his focus back towards there prey. "Yeah I know! Now we just got to find the human." Alice said as they followed the scent and made there way into the sheltered area.

Kana stood there, her mouth open. They were betting on her! Betting!! Kana ran down the street through the night air. Normally she would have enjoyed this night, seeing it was a full moon and no lights shrouded the stars. Tonight, though, was way different.

Jacob rubbed his back on which the girl had stomped on. "Well then Versailles, your on! On the count of three we shall go, make it more of a chalenge," Jacob stood up smiling. "1,... 2,... 3!!!" He ran after the girl.

"Shi.t, fuc.k..." Seryth mumbled softly to herself. Damn my father... she thought as she started backing away from the direction the two vampires were coming from. She continued backing up and tripped over something causing her to fall into one of the surrounding walls. The ceiling cracked loudly then convenently collasped between her and her two hunters. She decided then to make a mad dash out of there and in some random direction they weren't.

Azmyth's smirk widened. "A chase makes things so much more fun," he said as he watched the human for a moment before sprinting ater the boy with a great deal of speed.

"Silly boy," Versailles commented, calmly walking in a different direction, fading in to the shadows. Surly he would get to the meat before Jacob.

Kai kept running, determined not to become the vamp's dinner. There was something sticking out of the ground, of course that somehting being what made him trip. He scrambled back to his feet.

Kana looked back seeing the vampire named Jacob right behind her. She wanted to scream but didn't dare. She ran behind a collapsed wall and waited for him to come and attack.

Jacob snickered and ran to her. "I can see you!" he told her and went behind the collapsed wall, she wasn't there. She had gone to the other side and now relized if she continued it would just end up in her death from the vampire apperantly named Versailles.

Alec let out a loud angry growl when he saw the ceiling collapse. "Goddammit!" Alice yelled out as she stopped next to Alec. "We could probably track her again and catch her if we split up and try and get her from both sides." Alec said as he backed away from the collapsed ceiling. "Alright meet up with you when I catch her." Alice said with a smirk as she took off in the direction the scent was going. "Don't even think your going to reach her first." Alec said with a small growl as he went in a slightly different direction so he could hopefully cut off any escape routs for the human girl.

Kira, finally came across a man, one not to old, in her opinon. The strangest thing was... he was carrying a sword with him. Vampire hunter. Was the first thing that popped into her head, so, switching into Ra, she prepared to make contact with him. During the transformation from Ki, to Ra, lets simply say... Kira`s body... filled out more.

Jinsai seen a girl approuching him. She seemed normal, and human, but, he knew from previous attacks, appearances were deceiving. She greeted him, with a warm smile. No fangs.

Alice quickly caught on to the human girls trail once again and was making quick work of catching up to her. Her dark black hair flew behind her as she ran down the street after her prey. With a grace most vampires seemed to posses she managed to avoid all the ruble that had fallen onto the old destroyed street.

Alec was moving in a fast pace to try and get ahead of the girl. He wanted to make sure that most, if not all, of her escape routes where cut off. Humans lately where getting better and better at avoiding his kind and it was slightly infuriating/frustrating.

Seryth continued to sprint in attempts to escape her followers...actually follower now she noticed glancing over her shoulder. Where did the other go? she asked herself. She turned slightly changing the direction she was running in.

Seryth skidded to a halt as a man appeared in front of her. She was a bit suprised and not sure what to think of him. She took a step back. Her heart was racing and she was gasping for air trying to catch her breath.

Jinsai got himself into fighting stance, with the blade of his sword held above his head. He was declaring, he wasn`t afraid of vampires, as he waited for Alice to draw near. He wasn`t that blind, he knew another one would be coming.

Alice slowed her pace and stopped about twenty feet from her prey and the new human male. Alice quickly assessed the situation and let out a loud hiss, baring her fangs in the process, in the direction of the vampire hunter. "Step aside and let me eat." She commanded of the hunter in a low growling voice. Where the hell is Alec?! She yelled in her head as she glared at the two humans before her.

Alec changed direction when the prey did and was feeling quit happy that they would finally catch her. However that happiness was shattered when the smell of the new human hit him. He held back a growl as he approached the humans from behind. He didn't want to give away his location and was hoping for a sneak attack on the hunter.

Seryth continued backing away slowly. She could easily assume that this man was human, but that didn't make her trust him. She turned a corner and leaned back against one of the cool stone walls as she tried to catch her breath and wait for her heart rate to slow.

Kira sighed. She came across a young girl. "I usually don`t like young blood, especially female, but, I`m afraid, you will have to do." She said as she lifted the young kid by the neck, off the ground. She then had her dinner, despite, it didn`t quite fill her.

His eyes then locked with Alice's and he tilted his head towards the human girl and gave Alice a small nod. Getting what her Sire meant Alice quickly darted past the hunter and towards the girl at the same time Alec lunged towards the hunter.

Jinsai would have easily relocated his fall, by stepping to the side, and with his palms, pushed himaway. He then raised his sword as he went for the female vampire. He wasn`t about to let the girl die, even if she didn`t trust him.

Seryth glanced at the man with a bit of a suprised expression for a brief second. She moved swiftly to the side and rolled over her shoulder on the ground in an attempt to escape the female vampire that was now darting at her. She droped her bag as the strap broke knowing she would be a great deal faster without the extra weight on her back. She'd try to come back for it later.

Alice was only focusing her energy at catching the human that was currently trying to out run her.She was not that worried about the hunter seeing as Alec had killed more of them than she could count. Idiot she will become tried far faster than I will. Alice thought as she continued to chase her meal. She then saw the flash of metal out of the corner of her eye and jumped back to avoid the hit.

Alec seeing his beloved fledgling almost hit by the blade grew very angry and his eyes turned an almost black color. "Go Alice! I will deal with him." Alec yelled out as he once again pounced at the hunter, this time with his claws out and ready to tear.

Seryth continued running, her feet lightly touching the ground as she ran. She turned down an alley way quickly. She started depending on the labrynth of alleys and streets to get away from the vampire. She took sharp turns as she came to corners or a break in a wall as often as she was able to.

Jinsai had no problem dodging Alec. Alec may have been fast, but, he was faster. Once Alec would have landed, Jinsai attempted to bring his sword down on Alec`s back with all the strength he could muster into one swing.

Seryth heard the vampire's laugh. "Shi.t..." she mumbled softly knowing that she was still on her trail. She took another turn down a somewhat covered alley. How in hell am I supposed to lose her? she asked herself.

Kana took out her dagger that she had made sure to bring. She brought it down on his wrist and twisted it in there. She didn't even take out but ran after he was forced to let go because of the dagger.

"Looks like you really didn't win!" Jacob called after him, running for the human girl.

Alice let out a small frustrated sound when she saw the girl go into a covered area. Jumping down from the roof top she landed in a crouching position on the alley floor. Then not a second after she was running through the alley and catching up to the human girl.

Seryth felt herself slowing. She wasn't able to get an efficient ammount of air from her running. She coughed lightly as she stopped trying to force herself knowing the vampire was on her heels. It would be completely useless when she was that close to her to start running again.

Kana lost with her footing but kept running. Her breaths were starting to hurt but hey, this was a matter of life and death!

Jacob smilied wickidly as she stumbbled. She was getting tired and soon this would all be over, he would come out victouris.

Kana and Jacob were now far away from the hunter and Alec. She tripped on a rock and her knee started to bleed. Jacob smilied and took her by the hand. He watched the blood slowly come out of her wound. He wasn't sure what to do at this point. The blood looked so good but then again, who knows what it really tasts like. He wanted to let the girl try and escape again but she had no weapon anymore.

Seryth managed to avoid eye contact with the vampire as she continued to struggle against her grip. She kicked at the vampire's knees hoping it would be enough to free herself. She cursed herself softly for leaving her dagger in her bag knowing that it would be a help in her current situation.

Azmyth bit down on the human's neck slowly. The blood of a young male was never ideal to him, but it offered nourishment. He lifted himself off the ground slowly wiping blood from the corner of his mouth. He still found his thirst unsatisfied.
