A World of Contrast

A long time ago, the Lord's Archangel Michal forged and locked the gates to hell, with Lucifer inside. Lucifer vowed to get revenge on his decendents and get the keys to hell to break free. Lucifer created Him, a human with the devils seed in him. Him traveled through time eternally, to fight and kill all the decendents of Michal. After a few centuries Him falls in love with an angel. When she gets pregnant she finds out who he really is. She escapes and has the baby. Helen(the angel) is captured and her friends take over the care of Alena, her daughter. Alena is left at an orphanage and her memories were erased.

Bio: Mike's mother and father were, as you would say, hippies. They pretty much let Mike and Mesha do whatever they wanted despite the consequences their actions might have. This affected them in different ways. In Mike he wanted to be normal, but couldn't achieve it so became withdrawn. However, Mesha experienced the opposite, she got weirder. She got tattoos and stayed out all night drinking, smoking, sexing. She became a constant renegade looking for fun. Their powers began appearing when they turned thirteen, Mike tried to hide it while Mesha didn't give a care and showed it whenever she felt like it.

Krystal sighed, another time they had to follow her. She glanced at her new schedule and checked the classrooms, she would start tomorrow. She walked out of the building and down the street to the house she and the others would be staying at.

When the bell rang Alena rushed out and took out her needed supplies from her locker.

(I'm going to introduce another adult, Uncle Grey. He's actually Krystal's uncle, but everyone calls him uncle. He can cast 'spells' and he can manipulate metal, I just don't exactly feel like making a character sheet for him...)

Krystal plopped down on a couch, "Uncle Grey, how many times are we going to move? I can't take another move." She glanced around, "Did Will get back yet? It's his turn to watch her."

Grey shook his head, "I don't know how many times we're all going to have to move, and no, he has not gotten back yet. You should go watch if he's not." Grey continued with his paperwork.

Mesha watched the school with a bored expression, leaning against a building across the street. She was waiting for the one guy who attended school who could keep her interest. And he was late. "Damn it!" she muttered, watching the crowd of teenagers pour out. She spotted Mike among the crowd, his head down as he walked dejectedly away. "Stupid prick," she muttered sullenly.

Mike looked up with a sigh, Mesha. He nodded to her and watched her annoyed look. Finally! Something normal! He smiled back sheepishly and went back to walking.

Him glanced around, watching the students depart. He hated this job, but it worked as an efficient cover. His position was a bit odd, he had to admit, but it was something. Under the name of Prof. Winters, he taught an extra corricular class on witchcraft.

Alena walked out. She looked around and breathed in the fresh air. She set off in her houses direction.

"Fine Uncle Grey." Krystal stood quickly and used her favorite method of transportation, the water system. She turned herself into water and went through the drains, turning back into herself as soon as she got through a faucet at the school. She walked outside, watching Alena from a distance.

HElen was wondering around. She wasn't even sure where she was at the moment.

The tripplets walked around, talking and laughing.

Him snarled to himself. He knew Helen was around, but her exact location was not certain. Perhaps he would look for her after the student crowds had thinned.

Helen continued to wonder around the building, she wondered if she would be able to find him, though she wasnt sure why she wanted to.

Krystal's ears perked up, she knew that Him was nearby. She had to make sure he didn't see Alena or herself. She walked swiftly after Alena, still making sure she kept her distance.

Him yawned, a harsh looking spell book in hand. He flipped through the pages absentmindedly, watching the last of the students flow out.

Alena looked over her shoulder. She only saw the slight movement of students.

Alena, can you hear me? You probably don't remember me, but I was your friend, long ago. Krystal sent to Alena, keeping herself hidden so that she wouldn't be spotted. If you can hear me, turn around once in a circle. She watched Alena, hoping she wouldn't have to go ask for help from destroying their cover again.

A faint buzzing was felt in the back of her head. Alena rubbed in thoughtful. She turned a corner into an alley.

Hmm...she probably can't hear me anymore. They did push back her powers after all... Krystal looked around. Will! It's your turn to watch after Alena. She sent to Will as she went back to the house.

Krystal brought herself to a quiet place behind the school. She sat down and began to search through a small notebook, seemingly full of notes and instructions.

He attempted a smile, but he knew she would no more believe it than his students did.

Helen giggled lightly"still can't smile?" she asked him, but it sorta made her sad.

He shook his head. "I've never been good at it. I am just not a happy sort of being."

Helen smiled"well thats ok" she said, then looked around, looking alittle lost"where are we going today?"

He shrugged. "It's up to you."

Alice smiled"lets go to the park"

"Alright." He stood, ready to let her lead the way.

Helen smiled, and started towards the park, nowing he was right behind her.

"Nothing, really," he said, glancing at her.

I can't calm down, there's some one or thing here. Krystal glared at the bush that the movement had gone behind. She made a small movement with her index finger, a large pillar of ice smashing into the bush, a figure leaping from behind the bush and disappearing into the distance. Krystal quickly calmed and sat back down, reading the notebook again.

Helen looked at him, her green eyes sad"ok, if you say so" she mumbled, and started swinging again.

Alena saw the couple in the park. I've never seen them before...

"Alena!" Simmone called, running up, smiling. In order to keep Alena safer, they pushed Simmone into a public school with her and was told to make friends.

Alena looked around confused. "Oh, hello." She smiled at Simmone, "your new aren't you?"

Alice continued to swing, not even noticing the two girls heading clsoer.

Krystal quickly hid the notebook, going through the water pipes and over to the others. She ended up nearby, but still out of view of Alena, she got Simmone's attention and let her know that she was there. She knew that there was a possibility of Alena recognizing her from their childhood.

Simmone acknowledged her presance. "Yes, I am and I am LOST. I have NO idea where I am. Could you lead me back to the school? I left something there." Simmone giggled, rubbing the back of her head.

Krystal, in typical Krystal style, tripped over her own feet, sending the notebook spinning to their feet. Krystal covered her eyes with her hand, "I've done it again." She tried to hurry and grab her notebook without her face being seen. "Sorry." She grabbed the notebook and turned to walk away.

"Sure.." Alena stared after the other girl. "Who is she?" She pointed at her, and looked at Simmone.

[wild_whisper]

Sorry Simmone! I tripped, again. I think I should make a break for it, should I not? Krystal began to walk away, "Sorry about that!"

"KIMMIE!" Samara called, hugging the girl and her note book. "I thought you were in New York!" she squealed. Play along or your dead! Samara whispered, making sure Krystal's back was to Alena.

Samara, can I pick my name next time? Krystal smiled, "Hi Samara! I was, I just moved here with my uncle." She tried to keep from laughing at the charade.

Spur of the moment. Samara shrugged. "No way!" Samara said, acting like a girly-girl. "I cant believe it!"

Alena laughed. "You two are bad at acting."

Him closed his eyes, thinking.

[~Haruka~]

"Acting? This is Kim, my friend from LA." Samara said, blinking. She was actually really good at it.

[wild_whisper]

Sorry Samara, but she'll always be able to tell when I'm acting. Krystal turned slightly, "I figured you'd know that I was acting." She smiled slightly at Samara and Alena, "Well, I should probably be going now." She began to walk away, a small white feather on a chain falling from the notebook. She stopped and picked it up, looking at it curiously.

(Yay storm, I brought in the feather! Although I don't know if it still fits into the story....)

Alena shook her head. "Samara is good at it, but you are bad. And her name isn't Kimmie. I don't know how I know that, but I just do."

So true 'cuse you suck at it! Samara smiled at the comment, letting her know she was kidding. "Anyho," Samara said. "The school? Please?" She actually didnt know her way back.

Alena nodded. "This way." She led the way back.

Him closed his eyes, thinking.

Alice looked at him, he seemed to always be thinking of one thing or the other. She was looking around, when she noticed the group of girls, they looked sorta firmilar, but she didnt know from where.

His eyes shot up, realizing the group was there. His eyes shimmered darkly, watching.

Alena looked back. "You coming?"

[~Haruka~]

Alena nodded. "This way." She led the way back.

"Thank you!" Samara said. "I feel so stupid. I dont even know my way around." she said, blushing a bit from embaresment.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal turned quickly, "Alena! Wait!" She put the feather in Alena's hand, "You're supposed to have this, don't think I'm freaky or something, but I know you're supposed to have it." She turned around and walked back towards the house, knowing full well the real reason she knew that Alena was supposed to have it.

Alena shrugged. She tugged Samara. "You are slow."

HElen looked at him, his eyes looked dangerous"I think we should leave"

"Alright," he said quietly, standing up imidiatly.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal walked into the house, "Okay Uncle Grey, why did you put it there?" She watched for her uncle to tell her.
"Put what where?" Grey replied, acting perfectly innocent.
"Don't play children's games with me! The feather, the one grandma told me to give to Alena when I next saw her." Krystal said impatiently.
"I didn't put it there." Grey said with a shrug.
"Then who did....?" Krystal sat down, thinking of the answer.

Samara couldnt get away from Alice and Him fast enough. She was, in all honesty, scared of them.

HElen grabbed his hand, and began to walk away"where are we staying again?" she asked him quietly, so she could take them their.

Samara, Will, Jake, does anyone know about the protection charm? Krystal sent, not knowing if her grandma had told anyone other than herself. She hoped they did.

Kinda. Samara sent back. Yeah, Will said. A little. Jake informed.

Him sighed, leading the way to a rather large, old house not far from the school. "This is where we're staying," he said, unlocking the door.

Helen nodded, it had a very old, mygestic feel to it.

Well, that's not enough for this to make sense. Thanks for trying.... Krystal pondered over it to herself. She pulled the vial of the shimmering liquid that hung at her neck into her sight. "It has to have something to do with this." She looked into it and shook her head, seeing a very strange vision, one that showed a death.

Him locked the door behind them, heading up the stairs.

Helen stayed infront of the door, taking off her shoes, and looked around the place, it could use some light colors, but she knew better then to say anything.

He slid into a dark room, and stretched out on the velvet sheets of the bed. He was tired, but not quite the normal form of tired.

HElen slowly walked up the stairs, and headed into the room, next to his, and layed down on the bed, and fell asleep.

Something clicked in Krystal's head, "That's it!" She dived into a drawer in the desk nearby. She pulled out a sheet of paper and a pencil, quickly scribbling something down. She tucked away the paper and returned the pencil.

Closing his eyes, be began letting memories wash over him, hopping to fall asleep.

Helen curled up into a ball, as the memories, she wished she could forget, flooded into her dreams.

Him awoke a few hours later, eyes harsh, as always. He had been reliving his creation, and was now in a bit of a foul mood. He wasn't exactly sure why, but he always was after this particular memory.

Helen awoke, but unlike him, she was sad, and she got up quietly, and headed out to the hallway, to see him. It only took one look to realise the mood he was in, so she quickly attempted to make it to the room, before he saw her.

"Something amiss," he said quietly, eyes following her.

She stopped and turned, a smile on her face that looked like a kindergardner caught doing somthing bad"nothings wrong, why do you ask?" she asked quietly

Samara felt like a child in a new world. She was so lost and was so thankful she had someone leading her. Her twins followed, making them selves practically invisable.

"You quickened your pace after seeing me. Do I frighten or disgust you?" He watched her, wondering about the answer.

Helen looked at him in shock"no, you just seemed mad, thats all, and why would you disgust me?" she asked him quietly, before running up and giving him a hug.

Alena got to the school. "The janitors should open the door for you."

He hugged her back, feeling a bit of warmth.

"Thanks! Come in with me?" she asked.

Helen pulled away, smiling cutely."are you hungry?"

He shrugged. "A bit, but that's all I ever usually feel unless it has been weeks since I have eaten, so I guess that makes the answer yes."

Alena rolled her eyes. "OK. I guess. I've never really done this before."

Helen smiled, and took his hand, leading him to the door"yeah, I can make us dinner" she said happily, then looked around"Um I forgot where the kitchen is" she said, blushing with embarrsment.

Him lead the way, winding through the corridors until the came to a large, stone room. It has all the latest kitchen accesories, and shimmerd like new.

Helen smiled"this place is very pretty" she said, then headed to the fridge, grabbing the ingredients, to his favorite meal, and started the preperation process.

"See ya' later Uncle Grey!" Krystal called as she disappeared through the water pipes. Grey shook his head and continued to flip through papers. Krystal resolidified when she got out of a sink in a bathroom. She began to search for something specific on the floor of a classroom. "I know I dropped it in here somewhere when I was touring the school." She muttered to herself.

"Thank you." Simmone said.

Will tapped Kristal, handing her her notebook. "Alena's here. C'mon." he told.

He sat down, watching her intently.

"Oh, right." Krystal stood quickly, smiling at Will quickly, "Thanks for giving me back my notebook, now lets get moving."

Will didnt need to be told that twice.

Helen pulled out a frying pan, and set it on one of the burners, before turning it on. She then put some of the cooking spray in so nothing stuck to the pan.

Krystal quietly walked towards the entrance, clutching her notebook tightly to herself. She glanced around and opened the door, stepping into the fresh air.

"What are you cooking," He asked quietly, watching still.

Will looked around, making sure Samara and Alena were at another entrance. "C'mon." he told her, jearking on her arm.

Krystal followed, "Don't have to tell me repetitively." She kept walking, making sure nothing else fell from the notebook.

Will rolled his eyes, biting back the responce he wanted to say.

Krystal heard something fall, she looked down, something had cut the chain on the vial! She bent down to pick it up, but it seemed to disappear. She checked around her neck, and the vial wasn't there, she began to search the ground carefully.

Will looked back, Jade appearing from nowhere. "What's up." he stated, looking from his brother to Kristal.

helen looked up"oh, I'm making dumplings and rice" she told him as she pulled out the rice cooker, and put in the water and the rice.(hope thats ok)

"It sounds good," he said, attempting a smile again.

Krystal glanced up quickly then continued her search, "Oh, hi Jake, I just dropped it...I can't have lost it. Grandma would be so mad..." She continued her search, a frustrated look washing over her face.

Will and Jake started searching with her.

Helen smiled back, he was getting close, but still didnt quite have the smile down. She began to put the dumplings into the fryingpan.

"It can't have just disappeared!" Krystal gave an agitated sigh. She flicked her index finger, a small spout of water shooting up out of the ground, a small jingling noise was heard as well. She waved her hand and the water brought the necklace to her, "No wonder I couldn't find it! It rolled over there." She slipped it back around her neck, fingering the small glass vial and smiling, "Thank you for helping me look." She stood.

"I cannot wait to try it."

The boys smiled. "No problem," they chorused, then began to walk, going slow for Krystal.

HElen smiled even wider"I'm glad, lets just hope its good" she said happily.

Krystal decided to quicken her pace, seeing how the boys were slowing down. "Bet you can't catch me!" She began to slide quickly along a trail of ice she began to put down. She laughed and gave a small smile.

The boys sprinted after the girl.

"I am sure that it will be."

Helen smiled at this, and turned just as the dumplings and rice finished cooking, she grabbed to plates, and served the food. Then brought it to the table, and then sat down across from him.

He took a taste of the food, and this time there was an honest smile on his face. "This is good."

Helen's smile brightened"I'm glad you like it" but the real reason she was smiling, was because he was. smiling to.

Krystal smiled and gave another laugh. She gave a small twirl on the ice, showing off now just how much faster than them she could be. "See, I told you that you couldn't catch me!" She slid herself to a stop and waited for them to catch up.

They didnt need too. Will teleported up, grabbing her and Jake came about three seconds later. Both were smiling.

"No fair! Two against one!" Krystal began to laugh. She smiled, fingering the vial that hung at her neck. Something else clicked in Krystal's head, she quickly flipped open the notebook to a specific page, "I knew it! There is a connection!" She closed the notebook, and smiled.

"You'll have to do the cooking more often."

Will looked over her shoulder, since his arms were around her waist and Jake read upside down.

HElen smiled"I will, just tell me what you want" she said happy he had told her that.

"I'll be fine with anything you make." (brb)

"ok, next time, I'll make you something my mom used to make me all the time" she told him with a smile, though she didn't eat much.

Krystal glanced at them and laughed, "What are you two doing?" She smiled and gave her head a little shake, "If you're wondering what I'm reading, it's my Grandma's old journal. I just found where she explains the connection between the protective items." She smiled again and flipped the page.

The two boys shrugged then started having fun on the ice.

"So...that's it!" Krystal smiled, throwing her hands up in the air and giving a small excited jump, sending ice everywhere. "Sorry! But I found the connection!" She smiled and sat down on the ice, pulling at the lid on the vial. "This has got to work." She succeeded in pulling out the small cork with a popping noise. A strange aroma filled the air.

Him finished his food quickly. The smile didn't last long, but inside he smiled.

The boys held their noses, wincing.

Helen ate alittle more, and finished, she took both their plates and walked to the sink, rinsing them off, and cleaning the pots and pans.

"What would you like to do today?"

Krystal used her sleeve to cover her own nose, "I didn't think it would be this strong smelling..." She poured the liquid onto the ground, the scent becoming clear and sweet. "That is so much better." Krystal said, lowering her arm and smiling. On the ground another small vial began to appear, kind of growing out of the ground. Krystal quickly capped it and exchanged it with the one on her necklace.

She looked back"well we went to the park, and had dinner" she mumbled to herself, then shrugged"I dont know, what do you want to do?"

The boys watched, head tilted. "What're you doing?" Will asked.

"I could teach you a bit about witchcraft."

Krystal sat back on her heels and looked thoughtful, "I'm not exactly sure..." She shrugged and spread around the dirt that she had poured the liquid over. "But I'm sure there was a reason." She smiled at them, finishing what she was doing and standing up. She brushed off the dirt on her hands and smiled again, "Want to go back to the house and report to Uncle Grey, or do you guys want to go hang out somewhere?"

Krystal sat back on her heels and looked thoughtful, "I'm not exactly sure..." She shrugged and spread around the dirt that she had poured the liquid over. "But I'm sure there was a reason." She smiled at them, finishing what she was doing and standing up. She brushed off the dirt on her hands and smiled again, "Want to go back to the house and report to Uncle Grey, or do you guys want to go hang out somewhere?"

The boys shrugged. "You choose." they chorused.

Krystal gave a small smile, "Well...lets go hang out for a while, then we can report. So, where do you want to go? I have no idea what's what around here." She looked from Will to Jake.

[~Haruka~]

"And we do?" Jake questioned, laughing. "Lets explore." Will suggested, both twins getting up.

[wild_whisper]

"Sounds good to me too." Krystal put the notebook into her sweater pocket. "Lets go!" She smiled and ran off ahead of them, laughing the whole time.

The boys easily cought up and went ahead, laughing.

Krystal smiled slyly, gaining quickly as she coated her feet in ice and skated along, "I'm winning!" She laughed cheerfully, sliding quickly along.

The boys skidd along the ice as well, catching up. "Not for long," Jake taunted.

[wild_whisper]

"Wanna bet?" Krystal smiled and gave a small laugh, skidding to a stop and ending the ice. She looked back and noticed that they were getting really close, she began to step out of the way.

The two brother's smiled. They noticed the end and did a no-hand cartwheal onto the grass.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal looked around, her eyes widening, "Oh no....not here..." Nearby there was an old burnt out house. Next door to the burned house was a large nicely kept Victorian house. Krystal walked towards the Victorian house and stepped inside, not waiting for the others. "Could she have....." She kept stopping her sentences. She dashed up the stairs and into a bedroom.

They raced after her, worried.

Krystal looked around the bedroom quickly, inspecting everything. It was a clean room, everything seemed to be different shades of blue. She walked to the desk and began to rummage through the top drawers, not noticing anything else around her.

[~Haruka~]

The boy's watched her, confused.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal looked distressed, "It's gone. I put it right there, and now it's gone!" She looked at the boys who seemed confused. She pointed to a small sign on the door that had her name painted in blues on it. "This was my room before we moved again...and the key, it's gone!" No one except for her grandma and herself had known about the key.

[~Haruka~]

"And you didnt take it with you when you moved?" Will asked.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal looked up at Will, tears pricking at her eyes. She tried to blink them back, "No, my grandma told me to leave it at the house, so I did. I-i didn't think someone would take it. I didn't even know anyone else knew about it!" A tear tried to escape, but Krystal brushed it away.

[~Haruka~]

"Kids love to explore and steal things from here." Jake stated and Will nuged him. "Ow!" the younger twin hissed.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal shook her head, a few tears raining down, "They couldn't have gotten into my room. The only ones who can get in here are the ones with powers or the ones that are on our side. Plus, they wouldn't have been able to see it." She swallowed tears, "I'm such a failure! This is the third time I've failed a task like this."

[~Haruka~]

"Well, then we've narrowed it down already." Jake stated. "Someone with power." Will said.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal shook her head again, "That doesn't narrow it down at all, for all I know, someone could have been hired. It won't match up, only my grandma and I...." She wiped her eyes and moved quickly over to the lamp. She began to toy with the switch, using water to help pry at it. The lamp turned on.

[~Haruka~]

The two boys blinked, confused again.

[wild_whisper]

"Here we go!" Krystal held up the switch she had managed to yank off of the lamp. "Oww!" She jumped a little, muttering about unplugging the lamp. "Here it is! Look." She lay the small part on the ground and ran some healing water over it, it shimmered slightly, turning a shimmering silver color and shaping itself into a key.

[~Haruka~]

"You confuse me." Jake informed. "But we still love ya." Will comforted, smiling.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal smiled, "I confuse lots of people." She lifted up the key, "See, this is the key. Oh, and if you're wondering, the lamp shocked me." She looked at the tip of her finger which seemed to be partially singed.

[~Haruka~]

They hissed. "You ok?" Jake asked.

[wild_whisper]

"I think so...but I really shouldn't use water to pry at electricity." Krystal smiled, "I'm sure it'll go away in a while." She stood, opening the new vial that now hung at her neck, "Now I know what the new vial was for." She put the key inside of the empty vial, which began to glow and shimmer slightly as it adjusted its size.

"Come with me." He stood, heading back to his room. (brb)

Helen followed him, a cute smile adorning her face.

Him shut the door to his room behind them, and went over to the book shelf. "Take a seat on the floor."

Krystal quickly capped the vial, making sure that the key showed itself to be common glitter. She smiled at the boys, "We can go hang out somewhere now."

[~Haruka~]

Both boys shrugged. "Lady's first," Jake said, holding his arm out.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal laughed and gave a mock curtsey, "As you wish." She laughed again and led the way back outside, her mind still felt troubled, but she hid the troubles.

[~Haruka~]

The boys followed, looking around. Will's lips fiddled with his lip ring and Jake fiddled with his earrings.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal glanced back at them, turning to face them and stopping. "Okay, something is up. What is it?" She smiled slightly, a serious expression then covering up the smile.

[~Haruka~]

"Just thinking." they replied in unison.

[wild_whisper]

Krystal knew how she was trying to distance her disconcerning thoughts and so she looked them in the eyes. "Thinking about what?" She began to play with the vial nervously.

[~Haruka~]

The boys blinked. "Nothing." Jake said. "Random things." Will agreed. "Hoping Samara didnt get herself in trouble." Jake winced at the thought. "Or blow something up." Will winced as well. "She is a pyro." Jake deadpaned.

Krystal smiled, relieved that they did not worry about what she was. "Okay then...just wondered." She started to walk again.
