The Darkest Night ((me and wild_whiper ONLY!))

Okay, this rp is similar to the one on your website.
It is a time of darkness. Worlds clash. War reigns. But there is still love. It just takes a while for people to notice.

The setting is in a forested town. While the town is somewhat peaceful, war surrounds it. In the town. many fight another's battle by staying away from other races.

Okay, I know the plot is sort of thrown together. It's sort of a fantasy/adventure/romance rp. Enjoy!

History: Rella lives in the wilderness with the druids and her half sister Etta. She has had a pretty easy life so far, but she has never known her father, who was a human. Her mother used to live with the druids, that's why she has a half-sister, that's half-druid. She is easily scared, and she doesn't like sudden, loud noises. She used to compete with her sister for many things, and she kind of enjoys the competition. She has been sort of spoiled, and she is used to getting her way a lot of the time.

History: Pretty much the same as her sister's, except she knows her father, and she has had a hard life, because her mother was always spoiling her sister. She feels resentment towards her sister, but never shows it, and acts as if she loved her sister more than life itself. She doesn't show any emotions other than the ones she thinks people want to see. She has a rivalry with her sister, but she always lets her sister win, because her parents would become angry if she won something against her sister, it's a sort of unfair situation.
Crush: Rai (that's part of why they have the rivalry)
Other: She speaks every language, and translates for her sister.

Shira stepped onto the straddle line. She knocked an arrow. With a TWANG, and a THUD, her arrow hit the target dead center. Shira didn't have much time to see it, though; the target fell over on its side. Shira chuckled and packed up her gear. She felt a presence, as if something were going to happen. She shook it off, and walked home. She must have looked strange, walking down the street in full archer's uniform. But Shira didn't care.

Avi walked through the prarie field, not knowing exactly where he was going. He yelped in pain as a particularly sharp blade of prarie grass poked him in the side.

Ama swam around in the reef, her tail flicking behind her. She felt a strange calling today, drawing her toward land. She swam up, and stepped onto land, her legs still forming. Ama began walking toward the forest. She knew a town was inside it.

Rai walked around the edge of the forest. Several girls were behind him, staring at him catiously. He whipped around, and they shrieked in fear. he hissed under his breath. Must everyone remind him of how isolated he was? Maybe he'd find someone who appreciated him, but only if he was lucky.

Etta sighed softly as she watched her sister flirt with a few druid boys. Why me? She thought, why couldn't someone else have had to have Rella for a sister.

Evon wandered aimlessly around town. He had no idea where he was going.

Dorian leaned against a wall and sighed softly to himself, he'd never be able to finish his life.

As Rai walked, he saw many other people. One of them was a girl flirting with a few druid boys. He scoffed. Another girl stood near her, looking mad. Rai wlaked over to her. "Are you okay?"

Shira continued to walk. She saw a boy leaning against a wall. "Hello!" she said cheerily.

Avi continued to walk, straying into town. A group of druid boys were crowded around a girl. She looked nice enough, but her sister (at least that's what he thought) looked irritated.

Ama saw a girl with a bunch of boys as she walked into town. She walked over to her. "Hello," she said softly.

Etta looked up, somewhat startled. She gave Rai a small smile, "I'm alright."

Dorian smiled slightly, "Hello." He studied at her face quietly.

Rella smiled, "Hello."

Shira gave Dorian a curious look. "What are you looking at?"

Ama smiled back. "The popular one, are we?"

Rai smiled at her. "Why are you not frightened by me? Girls usually go into screaming fits by the sight of me."

Avi moved closer. He wanted to talk to her, but he didn't know how. In his thoughts, he accidentally smacked into Etta. "I-I-I'm sorry!" Avi's blush deepened.

Dorian gave a small smile, "Nothing in particular..."

Rella gave a small laugh, "I suppose so."

Etta gave a small sigh and smiled at Avi, "It's alright." She turned to Rai, "I don't see why they would."

Shira nodded slowly. "What's your name?"

Ama giggled. "Well, I know I'm not."

Avi turned away; his face red. "S-s-sorry. I'm so clumsy..." avi felt hot, and he ran.
_______
Rai's expression was blank. "Well, I'm a demon. I don't know why, but I'm used to a hated reputation."

Dorian smiled again, "Dorian, and yours?"

Rella giggled, "But you could be, just leave it to me to make you a popular girl."

Etta gave Rai a small smile, "But not everyone believes demons are all bad." She looked back at Avi, a pang of pity bit her. "Could you hold on a minute." She ran after Avi, catching his wrist, "Hey, what's wrong?"

Avi was embarassed. First he'd nearly knocked her over, and now she'd come after him. How stupid could he get? "I-I-I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hit you!" Avi turned even redder. He took deep breaths, eventually calming down. "I'm very sorry. I...just get very nervous around girls." Avi turned red at himself. He didn't mean to pour that out!

Rai chuckled. Maybe I'm the one being judgemental... He thought this true. After all, hadn't he expected everyone to hate him, when some actually didn't. "Oh well..." he muttered. Rai began to walk away, to his 'home.' He lived in a small flat near the edge of the town, where there were not many who would criticize him. Rai walked up to his house, but then had a second thought. He walked to the park, and sat on a bench.

Shira smiled. "I'm Shira, archer and musician at your service." Shira gave a small giggle, and shook his hand.
_______
Ama gave Rella a that's-never-going-to-happen look."Yeaaaah...the last time that happened, I ended up with seven pounds of conditioner in my hair, and the person who tried to make me popular ended up with an eight-inch scar on their face. Not a great idea." Ama grinned.

Etta let go of Avi's wrist, "It's really alright. I have to hang around my sister all day, and any distraction is always welcome." She smiled and patted him on the shoulder reassuringly.

Dorian smiled, "Nice to meet you." He let go of her hand.

Evon still wandered around the town, he decided to go to the park.

Rella smiled and laughed again, "I think I'll go to the park now, want to come with me?" She glanced around for her half-sister.

Avi let out a long sigh. "Okay." He walked away, going to the park.

Rai thought about his life. how isolated he had been. How many people had judged him.

Shira returned the smile. "Do you want to come to the park?"

Etta went back to her sister.

Rella smiled, "Rella, my name's Rella."

Dorian gave her a small smile, "I'd be glad to."

Shira smiled. "Okay, then let's go!" Shira and Dorian walked, and they soon came to the park. Shira sat down on a bench, not far from Rai.

Avi sat down in the tall grass. He began making a hemp necklace. He strung on the finishing bead, and thought to himself: Who will I give this to?

Rai saw a girl and a boy sitting on a bench. He sighed. At least someone's life is going well.

Ama grinned. "Let's go!"

Dorian sat down next to Shira and gave her a small smile. He felt slightly uncomfortable about being in a place with so many people.

Rella smiled at Ama then looked at her sister and gave her a smile, "Ama, this is my big sister Etta, she'll go with us." She lead the way, dragging Ama along and leaving Etta slightly behind.

Etta sighed softly to herself and followed. She sat down in the shade of a tree as soon as they reached the park.

Ama chuckled at Rella's trustworthy antics. They arrived at the park, and sat down in the grass. Ama laid back on a hill, looking at the clouds. She thought her life over, then remembered the war outside the peaceful town. Her mer-ancestors were at war as well. Ama wondered how they were.

Avi looked around himself. There was Etta, from before, and her sister. He thought about giving Etta the necklace but decided against it. He had met her that day.

Rai stood up. He looked around. Many were coming to the park. He didn;t like to be in crowded areas, so he got got up and slowly walked away. Rai thought about his family; about his race. Just where had they gone?

Shira smiled to herself. Dorian was nice.

Rella saw Rai sitting all alone on the bench. She walked over and cheerily greeted him, "Hello! I'm Rella." She smiled cheerily.

Etta sighed softly and leaned forward against her knees. She twisted a strand of hair around her finger, cursing herself for her bad luck.

Evon still wandered blindly, he didn't know where he was going, and the park was easy for him to just forget his thoughts in.

Dorian glanced around them nervously, he knew if an exorcise, a priest, or a holy man walked by, they would be able to tell he was a searchling.

Rai gave a small grin. "I'm Rai." He shook her hand.

Ama smiled as she saw everyone having fun at the park. Her eyes found the lake in the middle. She knew that it was pretty deep, and wide. Ama sneaked over to it, and sank into the water. She felt the strange sensation of her tail forming. She shivered, and swam.

Shira glanced around the park. Dorian was there, too.

Avi walked over to the lake and sat by its edge. He gasped as he saw...could it be? A mermaid's tail?

Rella smiled and sat down next to Rai.

Evon glanced up just in time to see Ama's tail. He gasped quietly, staring after her.

Dorian looked around again, not seeing Shira yet.

Etta pushed herself further into the shade of the tree. She turned herself into a small sapling.

Avi rubbed his eyes. He walked over near Etta, and sat down.

Shira glanced around. She saw Dorian.

Ama swam, swirling in the water. She stopped as a sudden thought struck her. What if someone had seen her? Ama swam to the surface, keeping her head low. She looked around. Evon was looking straight at her. She dived under.

Rai smiled. This must be his lucky day. Two people who didn't hate him!

Etta saw Avi sit near her, but she still didn't turn back to her 'human' form.

Dorian suddenly looked up, feeling a tug towards the sky.

Evon's eyes widened as he saw her come out of the water.

Rella smiled again, "You're nice."

Ama sighed. She would have to face it sometime. So, she swam up in front of Evon and said plainly: "Yes, I'm a mermaid."

Raiquen gave Rella a small grin. "Thank you."

Shira glanced at Dorian. "Something wrong?"

Avi looked at the sapling near him. "That wasn't there before..." He moved closer and touched one of the leaves.

Evon grinned, "That's awesome."

Dorian shook his head slightly, "No, I'm fine."

Rella smiled again.

Etta shivered slightly, her branches shook slightly.

Ama showed something close to a smile, but it wasn't there yet. "You really think so?" she said while pulling her tail up and waiting for her legs to form.

Shira nodded. "All right."

Avi gasped as the braches moved. He pulled away from the tree. Where was Etta?

Rai nodded his head and stood up. He walked over to the lake and sat by its edge.

Evon nodded, "Definitely."

Dorian felt the tug fade.

Etta felt the shape of the sapling she was change. Her emotions were controlling what form she was in.

Ama grinned as her tail faded away. "Thank you."

Avi held his breath. "E-E-Etta? Is that you?" He couldn't believe that Etta was part tree. Wait, was that even possible?

Evon smiled, "You're welcome."

Etta shifted back to her human form, "Yeah, it's me." She said softly.

Ama grinned. "Well, I'm glad. Most just yell: 'Ahhhhhhh! She's a fish!' when they find out." Ama chuckled.

Avi was barely able to speak. "Wow."

"I think it would be awesome to have fins!" Evon said cheerily.

Etta shivered slightly and hid her face, "You think I'm weird too, don't you?"

Avi looked shocked. "No! No! Etta, don't take that the wrong way! It's cool! I'm sorry if I hurt you."

Ama smiled, flicking her tail. "Well, I guess it is, isn't it?"

Evon nodded and smiled.

Etta shook her head, "It's not your fault..." She kept her face buried. "It's just....everyone always....they just think...."

Avi walked over to Ama. "No, I don't think that. You're a great person." Then he rememberewd the necklace in his pocket. He took it out and tyed it around Etta's neck. "I don't think you're weird," he said softly.

Ama stepped up, but tripped over her half-gone tail. "Oops," she said as she smacked into Evon. "Sorry!"

Evon laughed and smiled, "It's fine."

Etta blushed, "Th-thank you." She smiled at Avi sweetly.

Ama turned red. "Yeeaaah...haven't exactly mastered the walking thing yet."

Avi smiled. "See you later."

(Cashew to Walnut. Sleep time. Over and out.)

Evon laughed and grinned, "I haven't exactly mastered the whole 'floating thing' yet."

Etta smiled back, "'Kay, see ya'."

Ama laughed heartily. "Floating?"

Avi waved and started walking away.

Rai smiled. People conversing, laughing...it was seeming to be a good day. For others at least. Rai stood up and walked to the ocean. He sat by the edge and laid back. When would he be like them? Normal?

"Yeah, I'm supposed to be able to float." Evon said with a small laugh.

Etta hugged her knees to her chest, still blushing.

Ama nodded. "O-kay."

Rai smiled. He watched the many sea creatures floating in and out on the waves.

Evon grinned, "Watch." His eyes lit up for a moment, and he levitated about two feet off the ground before landing.

Ama's mouth dropped in disbelief. "Awesome!"

[wild_whisper]

Evon grinned, "I'm glad you think so, but I can't keep it up for that long..."

[december_dawn]

Ama nodded. "I know what you mean. If I'm on land to long, or in the sea too long, my legs or tail start coming back." She looked embarassed now. "It's caused many...misconceptions."

Evon smiled, "I guess we're a lot alike."

Ama laughed. "I guess so." She stood up. "I'm going to a place with more space." Ama grinned as she thought of the open sea, not just a tiny lake.

Ama leaped into the water with gusto, twirling about.

Evon smiled and watched attentively.

Ama got out and stood up. "Sorry, I had to do that." She laughed.

Evon smiled, "No, it's alright, I know how it feels to just have to do something."

[december_dawn]

Ama smiled. "Yeah, kind of like a creative urge to write or draw." She flicked her tail and splashed Evon.

Evon laughed and shook off the water, "Or an impulse to fly."

[december_dawn]

Ama laughed. "Well, that's only in your case."

[wild_whisper]

Evon laughed, "Yup, and the birds."

[december_dawn]

Ama laughed and splashed him again, then got out of the water.

[wild_whisper]

Evon grinned and shook off the water. He sat down on the edge of the water.

Ama smiled and sat down next to Evon, her feet hanging off the edge. The sun was setting, making the sky explode with hot colors. Ama leaned against Evon. "You're nice."

Evon blushed slightly and smiled. "Thanks, I think you're nice too."

Ama smiled. Things were finally going right.

Evon smiled again and stared into the water.

A tiny fish leaped out of the water. It was silver, with red and blue streaks covering it. Ama caught it in a bubble of water she made from thin air and handed it to Evon. "A little trinket...and a friend."
Then Ama leaped into the water. It was late.

[wild_whisper]

Evon smiled and carried the bubble filled with water and the fish home. He hummed softly, the tune was carried on the wind.

Ama swam out to sea, leaping as she went. She pulled herself up on a rock and began to sing. It was a rhunic, foreign song. It carried melodiously on the wind.

Evon heard the song and smiled. He walked into his house, still able to hear it.

Ama smiled and jumped back into the water.

The next day...

Ama woke up upside down in the water. She swam back to shore and stepped onto land. Her legs felt numb after a night in the water. She walked into town, past Evon's house. She sat down at the park, in the cool, dew-covered, early morning grass.

Rai walked around town. He checked his watch. 6:30. No wonder no one else was up. He wondered if he would see Rella again today.

Avi jumped down from the tree he was in. He rolled over on the ground and hit a stump. "Ow!" He carefully stood. Where is Etta? he thought.

Etta wandered around blindly, Rell was still asleep, and not likely to wake up for a few more hours.

Evon stretched and walked outside of his house.

Ama saw Evon walking near her, and ran over to him. "Good morning," she said cheerily.

Avi spotted Etta. He waved to her.

[wild_whisper]

"Good morning." Evon said with a smile.

Etta looked at Avi and smiled, "Hi Avi!"

Ama waved her hand around her. "Beautiful day, isn't it?" She smiled at Evon.

Avi waved and kept walking. He felt a slight sinking feeling.

Rai walked out of his house. He glanced at Etta, waved, and kept walking. He sat down by the pond's edge. Every animal scattered away from him. He slapped the water and stomped away. It was no use. He would always be hated. That's how demons were supposed to be. Lone wolves. Live alone, die alone. Rai spun on the spot and transformed into a black wolf. He prowled and leaped into a tree. There he watched the otwn wake up.

Shira stretched and got out of bed. She walked outside and to the park. She wondered where Dorian was.

Evon nodded and smiled, "It's a wonderful day!"

Etta waved to Rai when he passed and she walked over to a small clearing in the woods.

Ama laughed. "Want to take a walk?"

Shira sat on a bench and watched the others come and go. She sighed. It felt lonely.

Rai's wolf ears perked up as he saw Etta walk into the clearing. He climbed along a branch and turned into a panther. He messed up his footing and fell with a thud. Rai quickly got up and growled in pain.

Avi sat down by the pond where he had seen the mermaid. I wonder if she's still there, he thought.

Evon smiled and nodded, "Sounds like fun!"

Dusk(?) wandered aimlessly around the park.

Etta jumped slightly at the sudden noise and ran over to investigate. She gasped softly at the sight that met her eyes, she rushed over to Rai and knelt down so she was eye-to-eye with the panther, "Are you alright?"

(If you're wondering why it wasn't showing me as on, it was because I was in invisibility mode. :D :D I'm a ninja!!! :ninja:

(No, dweebwad, it's Dorian! DORIAN!)

Rai groaned. Because of his injury, he couldn't control his forms. He was a black mouse, then a black dog, then he finally stopped as a human, with an ugly bruise stretching up his side and a gash from a rock on his arm. Rai's eyelids fluttered feebly, then he fell unconcious.

Ama smiled. "Let's go!" She started walking, and ended at an inlet covered by a sliver of rock. The morning sea beyong glittered like a diamond. She sighed, taking in the scene.

Etta gasped and put her hand on Rai's forehead. "Oh my....by the power's names...."

Evon smiled and followed Ama.

Rai stayed unconcious for some time, and gotup. He stumbled a bit.

Ama sat by the water's edge.

After stumbling, Rai fell down, barely holding himself up with his uninjured arm. He looked up slowly, his vision blurred. "E-E-Etta?"

Ama pulled Evon over to the edge. "Isn't it beautiful? I love the early morning sea! It's lovely." A warm breeze ruffled Ama's hair, causing it to fly around her smiling face.

Etta's eyes showed concern, "Rai...are you alright?" She asked softly.

Evon smiled and nodded.

He looked around himself slowly, pulling in her breath sharply as he turned his neck to fast. The bruise was there too. "I don't know, I fell. And now it feels like my whole body has shattered."

Ama sat down on the edge of the small cliff. She patted the ground next to her and looked up at Evon.

Evon smiled and sat down next to her.

Etta put her hand back on his forehead. She closed her eyes, and healing magic began to flow from her hand into Rai.

Rai sat up again, and slowly but surely stood. He turned to Etta. "Thank you."

Ama smiled. She had never made a real friend before. Maybe Evon would be the first of many. She spoke quietly: "I'm so glad I met you."

Evon smiled, "And I'm so glad I met you."

Etta smiled, "You're welcome."

Ama laughed and hugged him.

Rai nodded. "I don't know why I fell...I usually am pretty fleet-footed as a panther."
