Jason sat at his desk, tapping his fingers togeather nervousely as he looked out the window. It was impossible to tell the humans from the day walkers. It was also rather dangerouse. He hadn't left his office in weeks. At least the slayer was going to arrive, hopefully soon.

Rose ran down the hall's of the mayors large office area (Or whatever you want to call it). She wasn't quite sure where to find him, and she didn't like to ask to find out. Opening the last door she hadn't open, she finally saw a man in his late twenties sitting at a large desk. That must be him. She thought. Rose stood straight up and walked into the room. "Sir.." she muttered quietly, she wasn't much of a talker. It was much more violence, less talk.

Jason jumped. He quickly glanced at her. Oh, it was her. He assumed. Blonde, brown eyes. Yep, that described her. "Are you Rose?" He asked carefully. He didn't want to say too much. Ever since the invasion he had to watch everything he said.

Rose stared at him calmly and nodded. "Yes sir." she responded, while placing a hand on her hip. "Are you the mayor?" she joked.

Jason nodded. "Mayor Xelem, but you can call me Jason." He stood, motioning the chair across fom him. "Hurry. Close the door behind you, please. And sit."

Rose nodded her head. She swiftly turned her foot around and kicked the door shut. Smiling to herself, she strided right towards the chair and sat down. Rose looked at Jason and stared.

Jason folded his hands over on another and leaned on his desk. "I'm sure you already know what lays ahead with the vampires on the street. I'm not worried about that." He muttered, lookign back out the window to the buildign that stood parrallal to this one. It was a comple duplication of the entire Mayor's building. "I'm more worried about you being caught by my brother."

Rose blinked her eyes and leaned forward to stare into Jason's eyes. "You think I'm going to get caught?" she asked, her voice low and dangerous. "Trust me, I wont get caught. I know what I'm doing. I was a SWAT team member you know.." she trailed off, leaning back in her seat.

"I know." Jason muttered, looking back to her. "But you don't know my brother. He caught the swat team you were on." He muttered, resting his head on his desk and putting his arms over his head. "They were sent back, but we don't know which ones he bit." He sighed. Moving on. "James. James Thirteen Xelem." How to describe such a person. "Alice in Wonderland. Have you seen it?"

Rose frowned, remembering that same day. I was the only one who got away.. I had to kill all who was bitten..What a shame..Rose thought, while quickly snapping from her thoughts to look back at Jason. "Alice in Wonderland?" she asked herself, she nodded and averted her gaze back at her feet. "I have seen that movie." she answered.

Jason nodded. "Well, he's like that. Like the Cherish Cat and the Mad Hatter put togeather." He turned to face the window again. "It was his favorite movie as a child. I suggest you watch it again. He probably has some tricks up his sleave that connect with the movie." He sighed. "Don't turn your back on him or he'll stab it. Don't close your eyes on him or he'll take them. Don't put your trust in him, or he'll break it. And don't make him mad, or he'll kill you."

Rose stared firmly at Jason and nodded at him, making sure to take in all the information and make sure to remember it. "I see, I'll make sure to do as you say. Jason." Rose responded. Rose closed her eyes for a moment and bit her lip, she definitley was going to defeat this guy. She was intelligent, and had a few tricks up her sleeve also. "Is that all?" she asked.

Jason nodded. "Saddly, yes." He turned in his chair to look at her again. He leaned his head on a stack of papers. "I know what you're thinking. Just don't get too coc'ky." He warned. "He'll make you go mad, if you do. He'll make you go mad if you don't." He sighed again. "Just be careful."

Rose nodded her head, and smiled. "I'm not getting c.ocky," she said while she stood up. "I know what I must do, and that I will do to defeat your brother. Let me just get ready and I'll be on my way," she exclaimed while brushing her fingers through her hair. "By the way, address me as Mello. I don't allow anyone to call me by my real name."

Jason nodded. "Alright." That was fine. He wasn't sure what good it would do, but if she wanted to be called Mello, then that was what he'd call her. "One last thing,: He added, looking toward her. "Don't show any skin. He won't just bite your neck. He'll bite you anywhere he can."

Rose stared at Jason for a moment before giving him a salute. "Roger that," she smiled. "Farewell..For now." she waved before she left the room. Once she was out of the room, she darted towards her house which wasn't to far away.
After she was in her house, and in her room to be exact. She changed into decent clothes that were perfect for the slaying job. A long black skirt, similiar to the one she had on earlier, but this one has slits along both sides for easy agility, a green tank-top with a green ruffles at the top of it. She also put on a long dark brownish trench coat and made sure her appearance looked a bit shadowed. Smiling at her mysterious appearance, she quickly returned to her calm state and moved towards her weaponery room. She grabbed her two prized Katana's and placed them on her back, she placed two hand guns hidden in her trench coat and a 42- calibur on the side of her leg in a holster. "All set!" She exclaimed. "Let's move out." she told herself before leaving her house.

James smiled at the lowering sun. He tilted his hat down over his eyes. He was a day walker. One of the very few of them, none the less, and watched over the city twenty-four seven. As soon at it was dark, the city would be swarmed with the night crowd. Both vampire and human. Stupid humans. And a slayer. He had several spies in the mayor's office. He knew about the slayer before she even knew about it. Now, he was off to greet her. He hummed to himself as he stood and walked out the door. "Everytime I spit I blow one or two speekers."

Rose walked outside with her hands casually in her pocket's like she was some sort of detective. She had a toothpick slightly hanging out of her mouth as she hummed a catchy tune to herself, the rattling of the guns and swords on her back made it hard for her to concentrate on the beat. Oh well. Rose thought with a shrug. She glanced up at the sky, and allowed the breeze to pass through her golden blonde hair. "Ahh..That feels good." she smiled, sighing in relaxation. Then realizing what her mission was, she turned her heels; seeing that she was going the wrong way and headed towards Jason's brother's mansion- the man she was supposed to kill.

James suddenly apperared in front of her. He bowed politely. "I've never seen you around here before," He smiled a very small smile. "And I see everyone. You must be new, ma'lady." He stood straight again, hands behind his back and his hat tilted to one side. "My name is Thirteen. What would be yours?" He smiled his razor sharp, vampire teeth.

Rose simply stared at the new stranger, a hand placed on her hip while another slowly reaching for the sword she had on her back. Of course, she had brought wooden stakes, but she had that hidden in her pockets. She quickly pulled out the sword and pointed it towards his throat. While she held a gun towards his stomach. "You can just call me Mello," she replied, before looking side to side to see if anyone was around. "You don't perhap's happen to be a vampire do you?" she asked like she was a clueless little girl, and of course she was not. She knew she had just found her enemy; the one Jason had told her to go after. Not only that, just by his form of speaking and his appearance. Just what Jason had described.

James smirked devilishly. He ran his hand down the blade of her sword, causing his finger to bleed. "Now, now. That name doesn't suit you at all." He licked the blood off his finger, the wound beneath it healed without so much as a scar. "Rose seems like a much better name for you, no?" Did she really think she could kill him with a sword and a gun? This slayer was worse than the last. "Of course I'm a vampire. Is that not painfully obvouise?"

Mello stayed quiet and kept a serious expression while she watched his movements. Was that just a guess? She wondered. "Sure." was her only answer before twirling the sword talently in her hands and blindly placing it back in it's sheath. "Well then, it seems then I must kill you." she said while still having the gun in her hand. She reached into her pocket, but left her hand there. Mello smirked, and rolled her neck to the side in a teasing manner. "You think i'm stupid don't you? A sword and a gun? Pretty dumb huh?" she chuckled. "I know. I know. I just couldn't help myself, I like them. So I brought them with me." That. was not a lie. It was very true, she loved her weapons and brought them almost everywhere with her.

James smirked. "It seems so." He said simply. "That is, of course, if I don't kill you first." Nerve once did his eyes leave her face. "Not at all. Asumming something is a very bad idea. It usually ends up in death. Knowing a slayer, you have your pockets filled and weapons hidened everywhere else, don't you?" He laughed simply. "I'll tell you, however, I'm completely unarmed, unless you count my teeth. And that, of course," He suddenly dissappeared and reappeared behind her. "Would have to have me be close to you."

Rose narrowed her eyes a bit and huffed, she took her hands out of her pockets and quickly lunged forward into a front hand-spring. She landed gracefully and turned back to face 'Thirteen'. "Like i'd count all those filthy teeth of yours," she insulted while a smirked curled upon her lips. "Perhaps, if this were under different circumstances, maybe I would consider doing so," she winked before her face went back to an expressionless state. "So, what are we going to do. Just stand and chit chat, or battle?"

James smirked. "You're pretty fast for a human." If he had really wanted to grab her, he probably could have. But that would have been rude. "Thirty-six." He smiled his teeth for her. He had thirty-six teeth altogeather. He has his dentist count them once a month. "I thought 'chit-chatting' would be nice." He never fought. Never. That really wasn't his style. He turned and began to walk away. "Coffee?"

Rose c.ocked an eyebrow at Thirteen and stared, "I don't like coffee." she replied, while she turned the other way and placing her hand in her pocket again. In her hands was a wooden stake, Knowing you 'Thirteen' you'll have another trick up your sleeve... Rose thought. "Im supposed to kill you, not talk to you. I want to get this over with so I can get back to my normal life..well..it's not so normal anymore since you..killed my team.." she looked back at him with cold eyes, remembering how her team was killed, but why was she the only one left? "Why did you not kill me?" she asked.

James smirked, appearing in front of her. "Tea, then?" Techniquially, he didn't kill them. He simply kidnapped them, turned three of the into vampires and sent them back. It wasn't his fault they were all prosicuted. It wasn't like they were all vampires. "I didn't kill any of them." He answered with a taunting laugh. "The general did. You should be hating him, not me."

Rose clenched her fists and gripped onto the wooden stake into her pocket. "I don't like tea either," she lied through gritted teeth. Her blood boiling, but not enough to bring her across the edge. "Either way, you changed them. They are no longer my friends because of what you done, my life has gone down the drain because of you.." she sighed, while shaking her head and quickly pulling out the stake and pointing it at Thirteen's heart, "I'll end it now.."

James laughed, putting a hand over the one she held the stake with. "Now, now. Don't think you're special." He turned her hand upward, pointing the stake toward the sky. "I kill everyone the same." Meaning, he made other people kill his victums. "You're getting ahead of yourself. Kill? Me? If you kill me, the entire city of vampires will come after you. All. At. Once. You don't want that, do you?"

Rose growled a bit and stared up at her hand that James held. She averted her eyes back at him and glared slightly, "I guess not, but we all die sometime don't we? Even if we are supposibly immortal. We all die." she remarked with a straight face.

"That we do. It only matters which one of us dies first." James smirked his teeth once more, releasing her hand. "And I'll live it out to the very end." He turned and began to walk off. "Until tomarrow night, my dear, Rose."

Rose frowned, and watched as he left. She couldn't help but feel the butterflies grow in her stomach everytime James smiled at her. Rose shook her head and watched him leave. "I'll make sure that I don't die off first." she muttered. She turned the other way and headed towards her house, placing a hand over her stomach she glanced back at James once more. Am I..falling in love or something? She wondered.

James licked his lips, hands in his pockets and hat over his eyes. The sun was coming up. The night dwellers would be coming in. She smelled. . . . Sweet. Very sweet. This was his prey and his prey only. He'd make sure of that.

Rose walked into her house and locked the door with the few locks that were there. She took off her coat and took off her weapons and shoes before walking into a kitchen for a snack. He was handsome..for a vampire..She thought while pulling a bag of chips from the pantry.

James looked out over the horizen. The sun was setting. He licked his fangs. He'd just had them sharpened and cleaned today, until they shined. "Now out to see thy Slayer." He smirked to himself, appearing out on the street.

Rose finished buttoning up her brand new light brown jacket she had gotten earlier today (Like in her picture). Rose studied her appearance and began to head outside. She couldn't help but feel excited to see James again. Still, she had all the weapons on her back, but this time the swords were nothing but large wooden stakes.

It wasn't long before James found where Rose lived. He didn't dare approuched her house, though. He would wait until she decided to come out. Then he'd approuch her. Besides, he didn't know who else could be in there.

Rose slowly pulled on her boots and zipped them up. She stretched and twisted around to crack her back, "Ah.." she sighed, while she roughly pulled the door open. "Alright! Let's do this!" Rose told herself, but she hadn't realized how loud she had said it.

James smirked. She had such a loud mouth for a slayer. He lounged back, looking toward the clouded sky. It would rain soon, he knew. Perfect. He watched her. As soon as she got with a good range of the city's center, he'd greet her. He dissappeared again.

Rose impatiently jogged towards James's castle like place. She didn't understand how she would accomplish her mission when he was much more intelligent then her. Much like a child, all Rose really wanted to do was play. Rose hated work, it was a surprise to even hear she was in a SWAT team. Oh well. Rose finally stopped, and slowed down into a walk.

"Awe. There you are." James smiled, appearing on a bench she walked by. He lazed back on it, hat tipped over his eyes. "You look offly pretty tonight, ma'lady." He smiled his teeth at her.

Rose stopped, and rolled her neck to the side to look at him. She c.ocked an eyebrow before she fully turned around. Here comes the butterflies. "Why, thank you," Rose replied while brushing her fingers through her hair. "You ain't looking so bad yourself either." she remarked while walked towards him.

James chuckled. "I always look good." He replied simply. He lifted his hat up, looking to her with the same devilish smile as the night before. "Now, now. What would you be doing out before a storm?"

Rose rolled her eyes at his first comment, but her smile dropped to a frown at his question. "Storm?" she squeaked. She hated storms, ever since she was a child. "I didn't know it was supposed to storm.." she exclaimed while rubbing the back of her neck nervously.

James smirked. She was afraid. He could smell it. He suddenly appeared at her side, his arm around her shoulder. "Frightened? Are we?" He smirked. "Come. I'll take you to my home, where you'll be safe from the storm."

Rose glanced at James and shook her head. "I don't think that's a wise idea," she said while she backed away from him. "I'd love to. But, I'm supposed to kill you, vampire." Rose exclaimed while turning her face to stare up at the sky.

James simply laughed. "My dear, you know that. I know that. My brother knows that." He leaned toward her, showing off his newly sharpened teeth. "But no one else knows that. Come. On small visit won't hurt anything." Rain began to fall.

Rose bit her lip, and looked back at James. The few rain drops that had fallen on her face had made it look like she had began to cry. Rose smiled at James, and studied his expression. "I guess it wouldn't hurt. But if you try anything, I just might have to leave." she joked with a smile.

James smirked. "See. Not that bad." He lead her off toward his large home. "I'll let you leave when ever you want." He assured her easily. Maybe he would. Maybe he wouldn't.

Rose eyed James closely, and nodded. "Alright, If you say so.." she replied. She was making sure she was careful about this, she knew the risks. She knew that she began to fall closer and closer inlove with James ever time he spoke, there was just something about him..His charm.

James unlocked the front door and held it open for her. "Come, come. Inside." He smiled, motioning her inside.

Rose walked inside, and looked around James's house in awe. It was definitley bigger than her house.

James smiled. The door closed by itself behind them. He lead her up the stairs. "Come, come. I have tea." He smiled. Usually the house was filled to the brim with vampires, but now, everyone was out.

Rose stayed quiet and followed quietly behind James. She just couldn't beleive the size of this place.

James opened another door. This was his office. "Right in here." He smiled another sharp toothed smile.

Rose nodded her head and strided right into James's office. She took a seat in one of the chairs and looked over at James.

James closed the door behind them. He placed a cup in front of her and poored her a cup of hot water. "What kind of tea would you like?" He smiled.

Rose blinked, before glancing up at James. "Green tea..?" she answered.

James gave a soft nod, opening a cabinet that seemed to suddenly appeared. He pulled down a small, white jar. "You have nice taste." He smiled, pouring a spoon full of the crushed leaves into her water.

Rose chuckled a bit, "You like green tea as well?" she asked.

"I like all tea." James answered simply, pouring himself a cup of green tea as well. He sat across from her, taking his top hat off and setting it on the back of his chair. His hair was bleach white. Not naturally. It was a childhood accident.

Rose stared at James for a moment, before smirking. "Lovely hair." she joked. She felt like she just had to comment on it. She took a sip of her green tea and winked at James.

"Isn't it?" James laughed, running a hand through his hair. He leaned back in his chair, looking out the window. "See. Nothing to worry about."

Rose smiled softly, and took another sip of her green tea. "Don't push it." she murmured with a hint of sarcasm.

James laughed. "You're in no place to make demands." He pointed out, sipping at his tea carefully.

Rose stopped, and looked at James. Apparently, she didn't find it funny. "Oh?" she replied. "I see. Are you implying that I can't leave now?" Rose finished up her tea quickly and leaned back in the chair lazily.

James smirked, still looking out the window. "That's exacally whay I'm implying." She caught on quick for a human. Jason wasn't kidding when he compared James to the movie. There was no longer a handle on the door. There was no sign there ever was. Besides that, they were at least five stories up and the door was deadbolted from the out side. "More tea?"

Rose's eyes grew wide. She had totally forgotten what Jason had told her. Damn it! She thought, slightly panicked but it didn't show. "No thanks," she snapped while she stood up. She clenched her fists tightly and looked around the room quickly. "I do beleive I could call myself a fool for falling for some vampire scum like you, James." she admitted outloud, while walking towards James. "Will you ever let me out of here?" she asked.

James laughed. "Oh no. I'm not going to keep you here." He turned in his chair, facing her. "You can leave when I'm done with you." Most likely, she'd be out by morning. He leaned forward on the table. "Now, now. I wouldn't call you a fool. You're much too pretty to be a fool." He turned again. "Sit. There's no rush."

"But I want out now!" She said, her foot hitting the ground childishly. "Why do you still want me here? To drink tea and have to piss all fricken night? I don't think so." she shook her head. "Do I entertain you or something? Is that why I'm still here? Oh, thanks for calling me pretty." she said, to quickly for him to probably understand. Oddly enough, green tea made Rose a little on the hyper side.

James laughed rather cruelly. "You're an emotional little thing, aren't you?" He heard her, though it really didn't matter. He showed his teeth to her. "And no, you do not entertain me. If you did you'd be dancing right now." He smirked. "Oh no. You're here because a sad, old vampire like me gets very lonely, very easily. It's very rare to come across a human that doesn't turn pale at the sight of the undead."

Rose blinked, "Im not that emotional," she said while plopping back down in her seat calmly. "I don't like to dance, only when I'm drunk..and that never happens." she rolled her eyes and listened to James talk more. "You don't seem sad to me, or lonley. A-and what do you mean by that? I don't get pale at the site of the undead..?" What was he talking about anyways?

James laughed. "You don't think I'm alive, do you?" He sipped at his tea a little more. He hadn't literally meant dancing, but that was good to know. He'd have to remeber that later. "Looks can be deciving."

Rose blinked, "Eh?" What was getting at? Rose shrugged her shoulders as a reply. "I don't."

{Oh yeah, I wont be on at all tomorrow. Im going to Hershey park PA so..But I'll be back on Sunday though. Just thought I'd let you know. ^^}

James simply laughed again. She was so clueless, it was almost cute. He placed a hand over his heart. "I'm a sad, lonely puppy inside."

Rose's mouth dropped open slightly, "How am I worse than you?!" Rose asked, feeling totally insulted.

James looked back toward her, his eyes a sharp yellow. "You came her to slay us. To slay vampires. And why do you want to do that? Because my brother's too afraid to face me himself. This would have never happened if you humans would have keep to yourselves. We aren't the enemy. We would have stayed hiden if you would have allowed us to. But you humans couldn't do that. You had to send out slayers to catch us. To disturb our peaceful lives. You coaxed us out of hiding. Forced us to fight back. Forced us to fight you wasteful use of space. You humans brought this upon yourselves. Your selfishness didn't allow you to share this small world with us. If my brother would have stopped being such a baby, he never would have called you here. We would have been able to continue to live in peace amoung you humans."

Rose clenched her fists at James's little speech. Sure it hit her hard, and made her very angry but it was all true. "Maybe your right," Rose replied softly. "The only reason I'm a slayer, is because that's what my heart desire's. My friends..were killed by you vampires..Turned by vampires..I just can't take that. I guess you could say I want revenge. But then again, your not dead yet.." she trailed off. She stared up at the ceiling at felt tears sting at her eyes. "Selfish...Foolish..Maybe humans are pathetic and we haven't realized that yet. But not all humans are like that..Some are smart..It's the government that controls us!" she whispered.

"Revenge." James muttered, standing and walking toward her. "Revenge for what? For something your friends brought upon them selves? Let me tell you this, Rose. You're friends killed themselves. You humans have it easy. We have to fight to stay alive. Your 'friends' threatened us. They made us attack them." He muttered, wipping her tears away genatly. "All humans are the same. They blame everyone else. The goverment does not control you. You decide to obey them. That's what makes you all the same."

Rose gazed at James, and sniffled a bit. "But that's what I don't understand," Rose replied, while turning her head away from James. "I was with them when you attacked them..But why didn't you attack me?" she asked. "Why didn't you atleast turn me into a vampire with them, or kill me or something?"

She was nothing specail. He simply missed her. She was in the right place at the right time. James grabbed a sharp hold on Rose's face, forcing her to look at him. "I was going to. But," He seemed to move closer to her. "I couldn't. You were just too beatiful." He leaned forward genatly pressing his lips to her's.

Rose's eye's widened. She leaned forward and pressed her lips against his while she shyly reached up to embrace him. Oh my god..She thought in disbelief.

James, however, pulled away. He looked away from her, his sharp teeth biting into his hand. "No. We mustn't. You are a slayer and I am a vampire."

Rose averted her gaze away sadly and nodded her head. She wiped her eyes and looked back at James. "But what if I don't want to be a slayer?" Rose asked quietly. "I don't..I don't want to kill you.."

"You have no choice." James muttered. He inwardly smirked. "If my brother finds out, he would surely send you away." He sighed, walking back to his chair. "Then we surely would never see each other again."

Rose sighed, brushing her fingers through her hair once more. "I hate this," she muttered to herself. "What now?" she asked, while leaning her arm on the arm of the chair and resting her chin against the palm of her hand.

James echoed her sigh. "I don't know, right now. But the sun is coming up. You have to go." He muttered, running a hand through his bleach hair. The door's handle had been replace, door open.

Rose frowned, and hestitantley stood up. "Then I guess..i shall see you tomorrow night?" she asked while walking towards the door.

"Yes. You will." James smiled his sharp teeth at her. Of course she would. She'd be seeing him everynight until his brother decided he'd give in.

Rose smiled, and waved her hand at him before she kicked the door open. "See you later." she said cooly, before she disappeared beyond the doors.

James turned in his chair. This was too easy. He placed his hat back on his head. Then again, this could become interesting. If the girl was smarter than she seemed.

Rose shoved her hands in her pocket's and dragged her feet down the halls. She hoped she remembered her way out, because if she didn't she'd be here for quite awhile; not like she had a problem with that. Rose didn't even want to leave, she had fallen deep inlove with James..his kiss..his devious smile. Everything about him Rose loved.

The halls were beginning to be filled. There were several hundred families of vampires that lived here. They, unlike the day walkers, could not be out during sun rise. There for, they could not live in regular houses. Unfortunately, they were all coming in and not out, moving against Rose.

"Damn it, Damn it, Damn it!" Rose panicked. She did her best to dodge the approaching vampires, she also could not risk being bitten. Being bumped left and right repeatedly isnt very fun, very painful indeed. Rose, finally getting fed up- pushes a vampire against the wall, and moves past him. Still, the exit was no where in site. "Why don't you just bite me now!" Rose cried out in frustration while gripping her head and finally just standing in the middle of approaching vampire's.

Several of them simply stared at her. After a long night, none of them were going to bite her. Unless she threatened one of them. Most likely they were too full to eat anything else.

Rose looked around, and blinked. A small smile fell on her face, "Well that's nice," she muttered. "Hey! Can any one of you tell me how the hell I get out of here?" she asked loudly.

One of them stopped, looking at her. She must be lost. "That way." He pointed toward the front of the house where everyone else was coming in from. "Or you could go out the back. Less people."

Rose couldn't help but grin. She turned on her heels, "Thank you!" she replied. Don't they know Im also a slayer? Are they stupid or something? Oh well..Rose thought happily. She darted for the back exit, dodging the less vampires infront of her.

Of course they knew she was a slayer. James had told them all to be careful of her. So far, she had done nothing to bother any of them. There for, there was no reason to be hostile towards her.

Rose also saw no reason to kill these vampires. Rose finally saw the exit in view. She lunged forward and opened the door and walked outside.

Jason slunk back in his chair. If she didn't get the job done, she'd be paying it off for years. Lots and lots of years. He mumbled to himself, looking out the window toward his brother's 'palace'. His brother was a monster. Playing with poor girls like that. He had warned her, he really had. But she didn't heed it.

Rose hurried out of Jason's place with frusturation running through her veins. She didn't care what he had to say, it's not like he was spying on her actions. She would kill James when she was ready, and she was nowhere close to being ready.

James let out a soft grunt. Jason just didn't give up, did he? He took the ht off of his head and set it on the hook on the wall. He just was trying to make it hard. He scratched behind one of his ears, grumbling something to himself.

Rose sighed, and stared out the window. It was almost night time, and Rose would be back at James house. Though she couldn't bring herself to kill him, since she had fallen inlove with him. She stood up from the chair she sat in, and headed towards the mayors office.

Dante had just arrived in the mayors office. She, was the new slayer in town, unlike Rose she was much more serious about her job. No emotion was displayed in her eyes, but a smirk played on her lips.

James pulled his window open, smelling the cooling air. New slayer. Now he'd have to ditch Rose. He made a small tsking sound. Jason didn't have much trust in the girl.

Jason waited impatiently. He had to, positivily had to hire a new slayer. There was no way the other, Rose, was gettign anything done. If this new girl couldn't get it done, he was screwed.

Dante walked into the mayor's office, with the same cold stare as before. She shut the door behind her, and took a seat in one of the chairs.

Rose rushed towards the mayor's office. She was going to tell him that she was going to get the job done- hesitantley, but she would kill off James. But as she opened the door to the mayor's office, she caught a glimpse of a woman with weapons on her back. "The hell..?" Rose muttered, and quickly walked in his office. "Who is she?!" She demanded for an answer, her blood boiling to it's full extent.

"This is Dante, rose. She is the new slayer." Jason answered simply, looking toward her. "You, clearly, can not finish your job. I must say, you'll be paying off your debt for quiet a while. Dante, here, will be filling your place." He explained, resting his chin on the back of his hands. "I tried to warn you. You did not listen to me."

Rose stared in disbelief, she looked down at Dante, then back at Jason. "No second chance, huh?" Rose muttered sadly, before turning to leave. "I'm sorry for having just a kind heart, I hope you succeed. Dante.." She walked out of the room, with a gentle shut of the door. Rose wasn't angry, she was upset, and jealous. She would stay locked up in her room, not moving, not stepping into the outdoors. Surely she was a disgrace to all the humans that were left. "I'm sorry.." She whispered, before walking into her own house.

Jason gave a soft frown, but said nothing. He couldn't say much. She couldn't do her job, therefore, she was fired like she would be in any other job. That was all there was to it.

Dante gave a slight grunt, "So I kill him, and my job is finished correct?" She asked.

Rose retrieved a can of beer and slowly stalked upstairs. Whatelse was there to do to get your mind off something like this? Get drunk and waste the rest of your life. Surely James, or Jason wouldn't want to see her face around anymore. Or anyone at that. Rose cried out in anger, and threw a picture onto the ground. Opening the beer quickly, and chugged it down. One beer wouldn't solve her problem, but ten would surely do the job.

Jason gave a slight nod. "Correct. But try not to target any other werewolves. If you kill one, more will come. It'll only cause a problem. Just target James and only him. And you won't have a problem."

Dante stood up, and dusted herself off. "Okay then," She began. "I will head for him now, seeing as a vampire is most vulnerable during the day..then again it is almost nighttime." She slightly bowed at Jason. "Farewell for now, I will be back to report my victory.." She then walked out of the mayor's office.

Minutes later, Rose laid passed out on the floor, rather than her bed. Instead of ten beer cans, there was broken glass and blood. No, she didn't cut her wrists, she insanley slammed her head against her window, causing a slight crack in the window. She wasn't dead either, just unconcious, and she would stay like that for quite awhile..

Jason sighed. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. While Dante was head strong, Rose was soft. One seemed to have a better chance of getting close to him than the other. And it wasn't Dante. But she seemed harder to break than Rose. He mentally smacked himself in the head. He was so stupid. He should have had them work togeather. "Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!"

James gave a soft chuckled. This would surely be interesting. He took his hat off the hook and placed it on his head. He, then, wandered down toward the middle of the city.

Dante calmly walked down the streets of the city. She would kill James, with no remorse. The girl was dead serious, hated the word love, despised everything that even took the slightest glimpse at her. She wasn't normal, not at all. But atleast she would probably be the one to succeed.

James noticed her as she grew closer. Her smell was different. A lot differe. Easily, he tilted his hat down over his eyes and waited. If she was a good slayer, she would notice him as the top dog.

Dante stopped, and caught the wiff of a vampire close by. She gazed around sharply and easily spotted a man with a top hat shadowing his eyes. "To easy.." She muttered, she darted foreward with a wooden stake hidden in her sleeve. This job was as good as over.

"You couted me out too soon." James' hat never moved. Neither did he. He caught her wrist before the stake hit him. A small smirk formed on his lips. "I shall give you warning now. Wooden stakes will not work. I am a half breed." He stood, wrist still in hand. He took a smell of her. "You don't even know your own name."

Dante growled, and pulled her wrist back from James. "I rather not know my own name. Right now, I have a job and that's to kill you!" She pulled out her sword, and thrusted it towards James' neck.

James, however, dissappeared. Much like he did with Rose, and appeared behind her. He let out a soft sigh. "You are wownd much too tight." He murmured, resting his hands on her shoulders. "You're not a very good slayer, are you?"

Dante simply gazed back at James. "Not a good slayer?" She asked with a blank expression. "I may not know a lot, but..there's a gun pointing right at your gut." Dante smirked, she held one of her guns to James' lower stomach. If she pulled the trigger..Ouch.

James laughed. "If you were a good slayer, you would have found my weak points first." He grabbed her chin, making sure she was looking at him. "Shoot. I dare you." Not like it would do much damange. True, the bullet could hurt him, but he was no idiot. At all times, vampires wore heavily light plateing. And the belly was the one place where the most armor is. Being as the softest place is the belly.

Dante frowned, "Hmm..I suppose your right, but trying never hurt anyone." She pulled the trigger, and when she did she pulled away from James and did a cartwheel and landed gracefully on her feet.

Dante stopped, and glanced back at James. "Then how will I?" She snapped, and turned to face him. Man, this was harder than she thought. Another slayer down.

James laughed. "Yes. I will. I'll admitt that. But you'll die long before me." He patted her head. "Go home before you get hurt."

Dante glared, and elbowed James in the stomach. Okay, so maybe she wasn't the tough slayer like she seemed to be. She was more of a werewolf hunter anyways. Or..maybe she just played to many video games and now assume's she's a slayer..Oh well.

James let out a soft sigh. "Deary. If that didn't work with a bullet, why would it work with your elbow?" She was going to hurt herself if she kept attacking him head on like that. "The last slayer was much better than you and she didn't even try to attack me."

Dante scowled, and looked back at him. "You mean Rose?" She asked, with a slight shake of her head. "That girl couldn't kill you, she was to kind, she admitted it infront of the mayor and me." Dante turned to walk away, knowing that her anger and her intelligence was not enough to beat James. "I wouldn't be surprised if she's dead in her room now."

James smirked. "I know that. And she's still a better slayer than you are." He fixed the hat on his head. He showed off his sharp fangs and made a tsking noise. "Your probably right. I'd warn the mayor. It would be, techniquialy, his fault, anyway."

Dante rolled her eyes as she stopped walking. "I will be better than her, and there's no need for warning. I'm sure he'll realize his own mistakes." She replied cooly.

"If you keep acting like that, I'll have to kill you." James smiled tauntingly. "And that would be a shame." She clearly didn't know his brother.

Dante clenched her fists, "How else would I act?" She muttered. "You couldn't kill me, and you wouldn't anyways. Your just trying to scare me."

"Am I really?" James asked, looking toward her. "I'm a vampire. I have no regret toward the people that die or are killed. One bite and I could drain your blood in an instant." He started walking off. "Just remember, you're never safe from me."

Dante smirked and looked at James. "What about Rose?" She asked. "I'm sure you care about her..seeing as you kissed her." How did she know that? Perhaps it was a random guess, but no it wasn't. Dante spyed on them. A slayer doesn't just sit on their butt until they get a job, or atleast that's not how she rolled. She was always up and moving; or spying in this case.

James simply smirked back, stopping where he stood. "Rose was different. She, like you said, was kind. From the beginning, I knew she would be easy to win over. I bought myself some more time with her. If she survives, maybe after this little war, I'll spend some more time with her. But right now, I couldn't care less."

Dante simply shook her head, and walked away from James silently. She was done with him, for now. Maybe she should just get rid of Rose, then deal with James.

Rose finally awakened from her painful rest. Her head still throbing from nearly breaking the window. Rose put on a jacket, and pulled the hood over her head to shadow her eyes. She was dizzy, sick, but she needed the night's fresh air. Rose groaned, and stumbled out of the front door. She held her head, before stalking off again.

James stalked off toward his office. He wasn't too worried about Rose. She was kind, but strong. She wouldn't give in that easily.

Dante walked back to her home, which was quite far away from where she stood.

Rose silently walked, looking around for somewhere to eat. Though, she probably didn't have the money to do so.

Rose groaned, finally awakening from her nightmare. She rolled off her bed, and got dressed to go walk around for hours outside.

Rose continued walking. Her eyes averted towards her feet, it was easier to walk like that, but apparently she wasn't paying attention and collided right into someone. Rose grunted, and looked up with slight disbelief in her eyes.

James glanced down at her. "You smell horrible." He murmured. "Have you been drinking?"

Rose shrugged. "So what if I have?" She muttered.

"You smell horrible." James repeated. Apperently she didn't understand that part. "Very, very horrible."

"Apparentley I do!" She snapped. "I lost my slaying job, I'm in debt, I busted my head against the damn window and I have no health insurance either!" Rose glared down at her feet. "It's like I don't deserve to live anymore.."

James sighed. "How much?" He asked wearily. He'd gladly help her pay it off. After all, she did buy him sometime.

Rose shrugged, "How ever much Jason gave me for the job."
