The year is 4059 BC. Long ago, they started making a more productive car to save tha atmosphere. Or, what was left of it. Since then, many factories have shut down but newer and newer technology has been developed and released. Its amazing how premitive yet advanced we look.
The roads are a paved, slick silver and the sidewalks arent concrete, not matter how much it looks like it. There's no cracks or divides in them like you would normally see in concrete. Just one long piece of white (ivory?) slate. Cars fly above our heads everyday; the buildings span far above where a bird can fly. I wonder how heaven looks from up there. Said builds are smushed together with clubs, library, homes, and the President's house.
Since factories shut down, we have had to make our own stuff, like dresses. We've actually retreated to a Victorian kind of look. I used to detest dresses and now they're all I have to wear. Its not that equal (if you ask me) that guys get to wear pants and I have to wear dresses. I'm not the only one who's complained, so quit looking at me like I am insane. I am not insane, I should know!
But serenity isnt meant to last. Crime skyrocketed and the MO is odd..... female's with their throat slashed open. Me and my team have to figure this odd ball out. Even if I'm ripping my hair out (almost literally) to do it! My boss isnt happy either..... Dang it.

Her gifts give her bad headaches to the point where her nose bleeds.

Cassie stalked into the lab, looking homicidal. not that this was unusual- she was the emotional barometer of the office, and everyone was commenting. The pants she wore (despite the fact is pissed off most men) swished around her ankles, and her tunic was a deep forest green, her guns strapped to her hips. "Morning girl.": She said to Azmara.

"Good morning," Azmara greeted, sipping coffee. Her gloved fingers traced over her handle, a habbit of hers when her mind was on something as she adjusted the top of her dress a bit. Azmara ran out of pants so she had to wear a dress.

[Elly]

Cassie sat at her desk to look over the case file, projecting a little bit.

A young man came in. "Um, excuse me... are you her boss?" he nodded towards Cassie, a probably half the reason the normally calm (though easily angered) empath was so mad.

((just so you know. Cassie is normally calm. The problem is she is easily angered, and from there her emotions are pretty whacked out because she can't block out people, as she hasn't really been trained. nobody in the office knows about her gift. They just think she's bat**** crazy.))

Azmara cleared her throat. "We're... uh... n... y... Yes." she finally answered, lying of course, but answering. "May I help you?" she asked, getting up.

"I would like to register a complaint against her manner of dress and aditude!" He said angrily.

Cassie looked up. She was technically Azmara's inferior, but they were equal in all but job title. "Stuff it." She called to the guy, voice cold.

"I'm sorry, but that kind of complaint is void. Please try somewhere else," Azmara told, grabbing the guys collor and throwing him out the door, slamming it in his face. "Men," she sighed.

[Elly]

"yep." cassie sighed, streaching and standing. "Any new evidence overknight?" She asked. She rubbed her eyes, walking over- much calmer now that he was out of the room.

"No..." Azmara sighed.

Cassie growled, and sighed. "I'm gonna go reexamine the dna, see if it is identifiable." She stood and headed to the dna lab, across the hall.

"Good luck," Azmara bid.

[Elly]

Cassie smiled at her, strained, and went in. She was playing music as she worked, dancing between tables as she did things.

Azmara sighed, leaning back in her chair. She layed down on four chairs and snoozed a bit.

[Elly]

Cassie came in and saw her friend sleeping. Smiling, she laid the report, a trace of evidence, enough to give thim a small lead, on her desk. Then she went to get them both some more coffee.

Azmara mumbled at the smell of coffee, wondering where the rest of her team was.

[Elly]

"Arrg.. I hate it when they have court day." Cassie sat down in a chair nearby, putting the coffee down. "Remember? That one case's trial end today." She smiled. "I think I have a lead."

"Ohh," Azmara mumbled, still half asleep.

[Elly]

Carrie sighed, pressing the coffee into her gloved hands. "Drink. And after this shift I'm taking you home an putting you to bed." She ordered. She looked out for her friends, as best she could.

"Home? I live here and so do you!" Azmara corrected, sitting up and drinking the coffee.

[Elly]

"Okay, I'm taking you back to where there is a bed, and where I leave my stuff, and putting you to bed." Cassie said. "Better?"

"I'm...." Azmara broke off, realizing that it was useless to fight with Cassie. "Fine," She sighed.

Cassie smiled. "Figured you would say that. anyway, guess what I found?"

"Humor me," Azmara said, curious.

"our killer messed up- I was going over the latest's clothes. There was DNA there, not alot, but enough. We catch him.. we have proof." She sighed. "not useful now, but we can get him, if we catch him. And we will!"

"Yaaaay us," Azmara said flatly, waving her hands, slowly, in the air as if she had pom poms.

"And, even better, I have a print. I started the computer running on it, but it takes so long figured i'd get you up." Carrie chuckled.

"Uuuuugggggg," Azmara said before laying back down on the chairs. "Forget a bed, dear, chairs are comfy." she mumbled, falling asleep again.

Cassie sighed. She scooped her friend up and took her outside. She could tell her boss needed sleep, and took her home after telling the secratary, who smiled knowingly. She set her friend on the bed, and sat down outside, intending to rest for a minute. instead....

she fell asleep.

Chase walked up to the office, blinking. "Eh?" he asked, seeing no one there and, normally, Azmara was hunched over pictures and Cassie was throwing a hissyfit about a guy. But... it was silence today. Blinking, he walked over to their house. He saw Cassie and smiled softly, gently shaking her.

[Elly]

Casie swung at him as she awoke, her usual reaction. It was one of the few things that was normal. She stared at him. Her red hair had gotton mussd- it was sticking out everywhere. "Wha?"

Chase flew back at the last minute, blinking. "Neeeever mind, lets get you to bed," he told, gently picking her up. He layed her on the opposite bed of Azmara, covering both girls up in the blankets. Must have pulled an all-nighter, he observed.

"I'm fine.. have work.." Cassie growled, yawning and rolling up. "you startled me." Shes aid grouchily.

cody yawned as he came into the office. It was quiet. This wasn't normal, but as he hadj ust escaped the media circus, he slumpe dat his desk.

"Go back to bed," Chase advised kindly, gently pushing her back down. "We have a long night ahead - another case," he told, smiling.

[Elly]

"but.. but..." She yawned widely. "The computer..." She meant she needed to finish the fingerprint matching, she hadn't expected to fall asleep.

Cody sighed, standing. nobody was here. There was one other place they went- cassis. They all crashed there frequently.

[~Haruka~]

Chase skipped out of the room and shut the door, going down stairs to make coffee. Cody'd be back from court/media dodgeball so he'd be grouchy and rude (like always) so he made extra strong coffee.

[Elly]

Cody came in, blinking. "where the hell is everyone?"

Cassie ended up falling asleep.

Outside, it was growing dark with stormclouds, painful ones that you could tell heralded a big storm.
((She'll wake up again in a few minutes.)

Azmara stumbled down the steps, taking the coffee that was meant for Cody. "Asleep......" Chase mumbled, glaring at Azmara, who ignored him and sat at the table.

[Elly]

"The hell, why?" Cody asked.

Outside, the sound of rain hit the building.

Upstairs Cassie woke- but she was smart enough not o move. She didn't want them to see that she was terrified of thunder- and as the first peal sounded, she fell off of the bed, making a light thump.

She stood, looking around. She looked crazy, with her hair like that.

"Pulled an all-nighter, rude a!!." Azmara bit out, still not coherent enough to have her manners kick in.

Chase sniggered.

[Elly]

"yeah, but normally you ain't this mad!" cory said. "I mena, realllly!"

Cassie yelped as it rained. she shoved her head under the pillows to drown it out, the thunder booming through the apartment.

[~Haruka~]

"I cant say the same thing, you're normally this much of a jack a!!," Azmara stated in a clipped tone.

Chase struggled not to laugh at the conversation.

[Elly]

cody just rolled his eyes and had a cup of cofee.

Cassie was crying as it rained- she could sense most of the city when she was upset like this, and the effect wasn't good.

Azmara went up to check on Cassie, sitting next to her and rubbing her back.

[Elly]

Cassie knew her friend was there- the two knew most of each other's secrets. The storm thing only Azmara knew, a result of a stakeout a few years ago.


"Why'd Azmara go upstairs?" Asked cody nosily.

[~Haruka~]

"I know everything? Yeeeeeah, I'm psychic. Cody, just shut up and drink your coffee," Chase scolded.

Azmara continued to rub her back, sipping her coffee.

[Elly]

The storm faded- Cassie slowly relaxed,s till a little freaked out.

Cody growled. "Those two always vanish when there is a storm!" hes aid.

"Maybe they go watch the lightning," Chase suggested, shrugging.

Azmara still rubbed her back, sipping her coffee.

[Elly]

The thunder died, and Cassie relaxed some, breathing deeply instead of hyperventilating.

"Cassie? Lightning? You even mention it she get's pissy!"

[~Haruka~]

"Well, that dries my pot of ideas!" Chase snapped. "Just drop it!" he advised.

[Elly]

cody growled.

Cassie fnally came out from under the pillows, eyes red and hair sticking up. "I'm fine.. i'll shower and be down and we can go to the lab..."

Azmara giggled lightly, pushing her hair back into place. "Your eyes are red," she informed as she played with Cassie's hair.

[Elly]

Cassie flushed. "Thats why I'm gonna shower. I'll be ready to go in fifteen minuts..." She said, trying to will her embarrasment down. She was always a little freaked when people touched her. She stood, wincing as several joints popped

Azmara stood, leaving Cassie alone; going back down the steps and back into the kitchen.

[Elly]

the sound of the shower started- it shut off a little while later ands he came downstairs, ahir in a bun and wearing her uniform. "Lets go."

"What were you two doing during the storm?" Cody prodded.

"None of your buisness."

[~Haruka~]

"Dont ask that," Azmara agreed, getting up and walking after Cassie. "See?" Chase asked, getting up and following after Azmara.

[Elly]

Cassie stalked to the lab and the fingerprinting computer, to do matching. She was projecting, some, an aura of anger. She sat, waiting, then smiled as she got a match. bUt as she looked at the fingerprint, it triggered her. She stiffened as she watched the vision

The group were walking, talking, going to lunch. They were near a subway and an outback, the subway thier destination. A man in black ran- they went to opposite way to find the crime. They had seen the new Ripper's face.

Cody was doing ballistics for some other cases, working.

Cassie relaxed, the stunningness of the vision making her fall from her seat with a thump that was echoed. She stood, rubbing where she had bumped her elbow when she fell.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara stood there, blinking. "Are you alright?" she asked softly, her hands folded in front of her burgandy/wine dress.

Chase was looking over some photographs, figuring things out.

[Elly]

Carrie grumbled. "yeah.. I just fell..." She hadn't told anyone about the visions. in this case, she sighed. "We have a match. Several murders, all in other states- our killer has killed before this town." She sighed. "I'm gonna send out for info."

The sound of muffled gunfire told them Cody was working.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara sighed. "I hope he isnt aiming the gun at a picture of us again," she deadpaned before walking out of the room.

Chase glared at the wall but, overall, ignored it.

[Elly]

Cassie nodded. She called and got the info sent- it would take a few days. Sighing, she went and worked on another case. She quickly had that done and gave it to that cases detective.

Cody finished and emerged into the main room. "I'm hungry." he said.

"Much as I hate to, I agree." Cassie said. Her hair had dried and was wisping out of the bun.

[~Haruka~]

As if Azmara heard the declairs, she came in with two trays. "Breakfast," she told, giving one to Cassie and giving the other to Cody. She looked down at her dress, picked it up and walked back out of the room, going to work with Chase again.

[Elly]

"Tahnks!" Called Cassie, as Cody started to eat. Cassie ate quickly, then went to go see if anyone needed a hand.

Then.... Her cell phone rang. She picked up and hollered.

"WE HAVE ANOTHER SCENE!" She yelled, not bothering with the PA system. "C'MON!" She grabbed her kit, bounsing up and down. Cody groaned and grabbed his, standing as far away as he could and still signify he was ready.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara put her hair up and followed, not needing anything but a camera.

Chase cackled like an idiot, racing out after Cassie.

[Elly]

Cassie was following the directions she got, ending up in another place. Another victem. She shuddered as she ducked under the tape, setting her kit down and opening it on an uncontaminated piece of ground. Cody went to interveiw those who found the body.

Cassie sighed. The coroner would arrive soon- he rarey spoke, just did the job, told them what they needed to know, and did otehr things needed.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara went under the tape, looking around. She held her skirt in her hands, stepping on uncontaminated areas, looking at the body and the scene all around. She stopped, furrowing her eyebrows. Azmara leaned down, looking closer at the thing she was looking at. "Odd," she said quietly, taking a picture of it. Azmara leaned back up, looking around again.

Chase was talking to others with Cody, waiting until the corner got there.

[Elly]

"What is it?" Asked Cassie, pullingo n her rubber gloves. She had an envelope, having been collecting DNA from under the woman's fingernails.

The corener came, grimly walking to gather the body, careful not to disturb the evidence.

[~Haruka~]

"Hold on, may I touch the body? I have gloves on," Azmara asked, looking at the corner then to Cassie. There was something she wanted to see closer.

[Elly]

they both nodded.

The coroner stood back, and Cassie took a flashlight out, to illuminate the shady spot where the woman lay.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara tied her skirt up, showing off the black high heals she wore as she knelt down again. She gently moved the shirt back, looking at the side. "Huh." Azmara said quietly, taking another picture or two. Something else cought her eye and Azmara pulled the edge of her pants down a bit. "Tattoo - identification." she said, taking a picture of it.

Chase watched Azmara, looking at the body then to the scene around her. This person - who ever they were - they were good. Almost too good.

[Elly]

Cody continued interviewling, calm.

Cassie swabed the woman, incase her DNA was in the database, and fingerprinted her as well.

She stepped back as the coroner moved in. "We need to get her to the mourge. I'll write the report." Said the coroner, gently beginning to bag the woman from the feet up.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara backed off, walking back under the tape where she untied her skirt, letting it flow down again. She walked up to Cody, gently touching his shoulder. "What have you found?" she asked him lowly.

[Elly]

"Same as the others- they were going through the alley as a shortcut and foudn her, then called." He sighed. "They saw nothing."

Cassie helped the coroner, and started swabbing as much as she could, dusting for fingerprints. They needed evidenct to link this guy to everything he did.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara sighed. "Again." she mumbled, then took off one of her gloves. She walked over to the body, knowing what she was doing. Kind of. Without hesitation, Azmara took the dead womans hand.

Chase didng know what Azmara was doing until her sharp scream filled the air. He whipped around to see her fall out of the ambulance, landing hard on the ground. "Holy-" he started, then ran over.

[Elly]

Cassie stood and ran gowards, then herself screamed. A amn with a gun was approaching, anger in his eyes. She could see what would happen.

She ran at him, drawing her pistols. "DROP THEM" she screamed, as he started to open fire. She returned it, praying that the vision was right,t hat she wasn't gonna die.

[~Haruka~]

Chase didnt hesitate to leave Azmara's side for Cassie's. Besides, Cody was near to Azmara too, he could take care of her for the moment.

Azmara stayed on the ground, her side and leg hurting badly now from where she landed. But her headache was worse. Much worse. She clutched her now bleeding nose, making sure none of the blood got on her dress.

[Elly]

Chase Was next to her, and produced a handkerchief. "Here." he said calmly. He picked her up, not bothering asking permission.


Cassie collapsed as the man did. Her leg was bleeding, and she looked really freaked out. She held onto her leg as the pain hit her, cursing under her breath at the pain. She couldn't have seen the man from where she had been standing, not until he had fired- but she had been runing towards him before the guns were obvious.

The man was rushed towards by the paramedics, but he wasn't moving.

Chase untied his neck tie and wrapped it around her wound. "Jesus, are you ok?" he asked Cassie, not wanting to touch her wound more than he was.

Azmara held the hankerchif to her nose, holding her head with the other hand.

[Elly]

"I will be in a minute." She said. She was gulping air, red hair now definately out of her bun. She cursed in spanish as a medic came over. he looked at her, then looked to chase.
"Just make sure she sits often and doesn't repeat that soon." He said to Chase. "I know better than to try and tell her to."

A medic who knew her came over. "Need some pain meds? you hit the ground hard."

[~Haruka~]

"Pain med and whiskey would be nice," Azmara moaned, leaning her head on Cody's chest. God her head hurt. The pain in her leg and side was nothing in compairson.

Chase nodded, then looked at Cassie again.

[Elly]

She was paler than milk, thoughs he no longer looked so.. crazy. She had put her guns in thier holsters, shaking.

The dead body was taking away, and the medics smiled. "Ya'll go back to your lab. You have the evidence, and apparently attract trouble." Said one.

Cody blushed. Then he sensibly headed back to the lab, where he knew there was always some whiskey.

Chase gently picked Cassie up, getting up with her in his arms. He started walking back to the lab, keeping an eye on her. "Sorry!" he called over his shoulder at the people they freaked out.

Azmara didnt know where they were going, she was too disoriented. That and in too much pain to give a crap.

[Elly]

Cassie had her kit- the medic had given it to her, and she had all her stuff in it already. She was unusually light for someone her age, and she was shaking slightly.

Cody half ran, and set Azmara down. he poured her a shot of whiskey, and gave her the pills and whiskey. "Take the pills. They'll help."

[~Haruka~]

Azmara's gloved hand took the pills and threw then into her mouth. Swollowing them, she then took the shot of whiskey. "Thanks," she said quietly.

Chase was going as fast as he could without running. She was light... really light. He noticed that about both her and Azmara; they were both lighter than normal. Why was that? He shook it off, going into the lab and setting Cassie next to Azmara.

[Elly]

Cassie was biting her lip, not loking happy. She knew the man was dead. And she knew she'd had no choice. but she shouldn't have lunged.

she had reacted before he was in view. Screamed before he did anything.

Cody nodded to Azmara. "Welcome." He said calmly.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara patted Cassie's leg. "You know what you did was right. Dont doubt youself," she told, still wiping blood from her nose. She patted her leg again. "Dont ever doubt youself,"

Chase just watched. Those two had a connection he didnt understand. So, knowing that, he stood back.

[Elly]

"I still could have not aimed for the heart!" Cassie said, blushing. Azmara always knew when she was upset- she had met Cassie whens eh was still a kid. So she knew more about her that most.

Cody chuckled. "Breathe. You kept a lot of civvies from dieing."

"I killed one!" She snapped at him. Cassie and Cody rarely got along, and the aura of the room was aggrevated. Only one of them was... so...

go figure.

[~Haruka~]

"Kill one to save many, that's the way the world works!" Azmara snapped, getting sick of the subject. "You did the right thing. If I have to tell you again, I'm beating it in your head," she warned Cassie, smiling.

Chase smiled. "She's right. You killed one man but you saved people because you shot him. Innocent people that were trying to help us; not hurt us," he agreed, laying a hand on Cassie's shoulder.

[Elly]

Cassie sighed, and the emotional aura of the room faded. "Sorry. I hate killing people." She moved as though to stand. "I should go process the evidence I picked up..."

cody's pager went off, and he stood. "I have to go do some more tests for the group going to court to morrow." He headed up to his lab.

[~Haruka~]

"Ah uh, you sit," Chase told, gently pushing Cassie back down. "I'll give you what ever you need, just tell me." he told, willing to do that for her. The doctor/paramedic did tell him to make sure she stayed sitting down.

Azmara finally felt better and went in Cody's lab. "Do you need help?" she asked, looking around. It was... surprisingly neat. Very, very organized.

[Elly]

"I guess- Put these on if you want to though" he handed her a pair of the ear mufflers he already wore. "Can you hand me each gun as I need it?"

She sighed. "My microscope and the prints I have filed in the case file." She made a face. "I like my lab though..."

[~Haruka~]

Chase picked her up again, taking her to her lab. If it made both of their lives easier, then to the lab he went. Chase was just worried about her leg. If she put too much pressure on it, it would hurt her and not heal right. He nudged the lab door open with his foot.

Azmara took them but shrugged. "I dont need them but alright." She was very accustomed to gunshot sounds. Azmara grew up around them and even knew each gun by a look. One cought her eye and she went over, her heels gently clicking on the floor. "Glock 20," she said, smiling as she gently picked it up. But she put it back down just as quickly.

"Can you hand me the sig saucer?" Cody asked, getting ready to fire into the ballistics tank.

It wasn't the neatest- she had things tacked on the wall, victems and killers.

Azmara handed him the gun he requested, standing back. She worked on her own things as he worked on that.

Chase nodded. "Just as bad as mine," he informed, sitting her in a chair and pushing it up to the computer. "There," he told, smiling.

[Elly]

"Thanks." She smiled, then did her thing. She scanned in the prints she had collected, eliminated the CSI's, as well as the medic's. She thien ran it through the database, sighing and waiting. "Thanks. And now I get to wait and pray. If this guy has ever been printed.. I just wish we could catch him. dammit!"

Cody was methodical and deliberate, calm. He set that gun down. "Could you hand me the glock?" he said absently.
((Arg... on then dragged to shoe shopping)

Azmara handed him the glock, absent minded too. She handed it to him like a pro would, but she didnt notice. Azmara was too buisy writing something down to remember that she was supposed to be playing a rookie in the gun area, not an expert.

Chase smiled, having added his things to hers and working on his stuff while she waited.

[Elly]

Cody, thankfully, just looked at her oddly. he knew his boss knew a lot, so didn't bother questioning. He simply processed, off in the land of focus

Cassie sighed, then made a face as the search was ended with only the refrence points to the others. "I swear, I'm going to bring this guy down." She said softly, voice sincere.

(Not with my mom- and she cancelled! YEEEESSSS!)

"We will, I promise," Chase told, patting her shoulder and smiling at her. He wanted to take him down to. Bu thtat was proving dificult.

Azmara looked at what she was writing, not paying attention to Cody at all. Except when he told her what gun he wanted.

PRetty soon they had finished. "Done- thanks for helpin." Said Cody.

"I know. BUt this guy..." She shook her head, then reached for the CD player. They had all heard the CD- it was the only thing about her upbringing the boys knew about. Cassie was a musical lover, knowing almost every song.

[~Haruka~]

"Welcome," Azmara said quietly, still writing. She took a photo with her free hand, keeping her eyes on it and still writing perfectly and neatly. Azmara switched her weight from one foot to the other and her hand was moving, but that was all that was moving. She didnt even look like she was breathing.

Chase sighed. Cassie really wanted this guy bought down. Now she was realizing that it was going to be more dificult than it seemed or looked like. This case wasnt like the old ones - it was more meticulious. More accurate. Him and Azmara agreed on that.

[Elly]

Cody chuckled. "Almost time for all of us to head home... technically..."


Cassie banged her head on the desk. She was the newest of the team. "This is worse than the shadow sniper, and he was god-damned impossible!" she said, having hit the play button. The soft strains of "seasons of love" filled the room, from the old musical, Rent.

[~Haruka~]

"You and I both know we wont," Azmara said almost inaudibly.

Chase jumped slightly at her banging. "Dont bang your head, you'll get a bruise and a headache. We'll catch him. We cought the shadow sniper; we'll catch this guy. We just have to wait for him to make a mistake - they all do," he told.

[Elly]

"Yeah. At least this time, it won't be in the middle of a retirement community... I hope.."

Cassie remembered it vividly. They had gone to a retirement to investigare rumors of killer nurses. They had found they were innocent- and discovere the shadow sniper. Cassie had fallen and tripped, and almost been killed, if she ahdn't moved. She remembered yelling and lunging, ignoring the scrapes and fracments that had hit her shoulder and meant blood poured down her shirt. They had chased the sniper through the home, ending with Cody tackling him. Cassie had cuffed and arrested him, though she had been terrified of the large man with the sawed off rifle. that was why she was so high ranked, that and some other cases she had gotton. (You should do Chase's remembrance.)

cody chuckled. "Good point."

Chase shivered at the memory. Before he targeted Cassie, he had gone after Azmara and him. He still remembered the look of terror on her face and the feeling in him. They dodged several bullets, but Chase ended up getting shot, him yelling for Azmara and her going to help him. He remembered here scream of terror and her running and not having time to help Chase because the madman came running so fast, she couldnt react either. All she could do was run. Chase remembered his fear, how he couldnt move and how he couldnt scream out for Cody or Cassie. He had been so terrified... he still blamed himself today but he realized he did all he could. Cody and Cassie were the saviors in the end. Chase sighed, gently holding the shoulder he was shot at.

Azmara shifted feet again. "Thank you," she told.

[Elly]

"You okay?" Cassie shook off her reverie, noticing her friend's dark ecpression. She worried about him, quite a lot. He had changed after that, and she missed how... cheerful he had been.

"Hre- take the chair. I'm not using it." Cody rolled it over, smiling and sitting on his desk.

Azmara looked at the chair, then to Cody. She smirked lightly and sat in it, smoothing her skirt out before she did. "Thank you," she told softly again.

"Huh? Oh, yeah," he told, taking a hand off the shoulder and focused back on the things he was doing.

"Okayy..." She trailed off, a little worried. She streched herself out, joints popping and muscles reluctantly streaching. She had the feeling something was up.

Cody smiled. "No problem."

Chase stayed silent, working.

Azmara was quiet as well, reading over her last three sentances then reworking.

Wicked, Rent, and several other musicals softly played as Cassie took care of other cases, occasionally flinching when something bumped into her leg.

Cody sat on his table and watched her. He went to his computer, soem, using it to compare evidence

At midnight, the sound of several other shift workers on the floor below drifted up, loud and drunk.

Azmara got sick of it fairly quickly. She slammed her pen down, got up and looked at Cody, holding the Glock 20. "May I borrow this?" she asked. They all knew she wouldnt kill.... just make some people dance.

Chase yawned lightly, pinning up picutures and compairing things. He blunty ignored the other people, focusing on his things.

[Elly]

Cassie eventually fell asleep, head on her arms and fast asleep, the fourth time this week of her falling asleep in her chair. Her dreams were troubled, and it was clear by the way she tensed up in her sleep.

"Don't kill anyone." Cody joked, knowing his boss was a good girl. He yawned. "I'm gonna go get coffee for all of us." he headed out, wearing the huge trench coat he wore all the time.

Azmara walked out behind him, her heels clicking on the floor. A few mintues later, gun shots went off and men screaming went to the floors above.

Chase sniggered softly, not minding the fact that Cassie was asleep. She needed it.

[Elly]

Cassie didn't even twith- it was an office joke that she may not sleep very often, but when she did she was imune to anything but thunder and one of the three people she considered her family screaming.

Cody walked and got coffee, returning. He handed Chase his. "Here. Here's cassie- I see she's gone and fallen asleep finally."

[~Haruka~]

"Yeah," Chase said, drinking the coffe. The gunfire stopped and everything was silent. "Well, our boss certainly got sick of it real fast," he commented, raising an eyebrow.

Azmara walked back up the steps slowly, listening to her own heals click on the floor. Sighing, she sped up and went back into the lab and set the gun down back where she took it. Azmara then sat back down and continued writing.

[Elly]

Her coffee was on the desk.

"I'll go se if anyone needs to be sent home" Cody said, sighing.

A soft, kittenish yawn came from behind them as Cassie wokeup. She yawned rubbing her eyes. "damn...' She said, realizing she had fallin asleep at her desk.

[~Haruka~]

"Drink your coffee, deary," Chase comforted, smiling. He pushed the cup to her more.

Azmara didnt touch it as she focused more on her writing.

[Elly]

Cassie obeyed, feeling much better once she had it. She went back to work, thinking about both the job and othr things.

Cody finished, and came upstaris, joining azmara and working silently.

Dawn came, and Cassie sighed. "I am gonna walk home and shower." She said stubbornly, standing. Seh winced when she put weight on the leg that had been shot, but stood steady. She was favoring it though, most of her weight on her other leg.

Chase smiled. "Stubborn girl," he mumbled, not stopping her. He worked more on his things.

Azmara had layed her head down around 6 and didnt move at all since. Except to breathe, of course.

[Elly]

She hugged him and smiled. "I'll be back in an hour." She limped out of the building, making it home. She showered and got dressed again, yawning widely.

Cody let her selep, drifting off as well at some point.

Chase blushed faintly, but kept working. She hugged him. He smiled a bit, and when she left, he laughed to himself. He checked on Cody and Azmara, finding them both asleep. Chase sighed, putting blankets around them both. He took Azmara's untouched coffee and drank it.

[Elly]

Cassie was worried about him, so she had hugged him to try and cheer him up. Besides.. she did have a tinny little crush. But she ignored it. A lot.

She washed his tie carefully and rebandaged the now throbbing wound, dressing in her loosest pants and baggiest tunic before putting her guns back on. She took Chase's tie adn headed back, wet hair in another severe bun.

Chase just worked more, not worried too to much for her. He had taken off his boots a while ago, the heals getting on his nerves just slightly. He sat down, analyzing his own work. He'd have to ask Azmara when she- *click*. Never mind, he thought with a smile. She was already up.

Azmara walked as quietly as she could out of the room before shutting the door so he heals didnt wake up poor Cody. She mumbled more then ripped her hair out of the hairtie she had it in. Her black/crimson hair fell down to her lower back as she got herself coffee.

[Elly]

Cody was sleeping the sleep of someone who needed to, comepletely unconcious.

Cassie came back in, still limping, and smiled. "orning....' She said, going up to her office. She tried to sneak up on chase, though she never had sucseeded.

Azmara waved at her, smiling.

"Good morning, Cassie," he told, not needing to turn around to know she was there.

[Elly]

"One of these days I'll surprise you." She said, chuckling and sitting. She rubed her aching leg. "I washed your tie- thank you." She tossed it to him, and it landed next to him.

Cody woke slightly, yawning and sitting up.

Azmara was a woman who could take her heals for a long period of time. She walked back into Cody's office without her shoes on to not wake him up but he was already awake. Azmara smiled at him, took her writing and her papers. She slipped back out the door and shut the door.

Chase picked up his tie. He leaned back in his chair, looking at her. "Thank you," he told her, smiling. It really was nice of her to do that for him.

[Elly]

"No problem." She said, a wry smile on her face. "Figgered I may as well- I'm just glad it didn't stain." She popped her neck. "And now we wait for the regs to find someone.. or for another murder." She said unhappily.

Cody went for coffee. he was quite dishevled, with a 9 0'clock shadow and his hair sticking up.

Azmara put her shoes back on so she reached Cody's height. Barley. She gently took his chin, making him face her. Wetting her hands, she flatened his hair and put it in its normal style before she dried her hands on her skirt. "There. You look like the rugged boy I actually know," she commented softly, getting her coffee and walking into her office.

"Hopefully, its not another body," Chase mumbled, tying his tie around his neck.

[Elly]

"Definately. I don't normally mind but god. The wya he mutilates them..." She trailed off. "Meh. LEts talk about something other than murder, because we'll get all depressed if we do.' She said. chuckling, she thought. "Done anything other than work lately?"

Cody blushed redder than a sunset and got his coffee, smiling foolishly.

"I dont think sleeping counts, does it?" Chase asked, looking at Cassie. Basically: no.

Azmara sighed, taking off her heals. She untied her dress from the back and dropped it to the floor. She went over to her bag and dug for another dress, putting it on.

Cassie smiled. "We are all so.. well... obsessed. No wonder internal affairs thinks we're nuts." She made a face, absently rubbing her tatoo. " 'Course, they still ask me those questions.' She was referring to questions about the tatoos she had, which nobody really knew the reasons behind.

Cody was making himself presentable as well, changing clothes.

Azmara knocked on the door, only showing her arm. Chase covered his eyes. "Alright, Azmara," he told and she walked in, holding the dress to her chest. "Could you be so kind, Cassie, to tie me up?" she asked, moving her hair from her back.

"No problem." Cassie leaned on the wall. "Want me to go grab breakfast? I'll use a skipper." The skippers were a new method of transportation, that used your handprint. They each were assigned one, and would keep her off her leg.

Azmara paled a bit. "Uhhhhh...." The last time her and Cassie went on a skipper.... she had to get her dress mended lets just say that. "Sure," she finally agreed, saying her prayers already.

Chase sniggered at Azmara's face, now looking at the burgnady and black dress. She must have ran out of dresses and pants. That one she only wore as a last resort. He shrugged, sighing softly.

[Elly]

"I'll go alone." Cassie chuckled. "I know I'mnot a dressminded drier." She limped out, to the elavator to the garage level.

Cody came in. "Let me guess, she's getting foood." He said.

Azmara grabbed one of Cassie's hairties and put it in her hair, it in a bun with hair falling {stylishly} out of the back. Even in the bun, her hair went to her midback. "She's getting food," Azmara confirmed softly.

Chase laughed, waiting for someone's pager to go off.

[Elly]

Cassie went out, a little zoned as she drove, going carefully because of all the traffic. She had got all of the food, and was coming back when she heard screams. She sent a silent page with where she was as she went to investigate, guns at her side as she limped as fast as she could. (the skipper don't work on sidewalks)

She found a woman, being abused by two men, and lunged, getting them both by the neck and praying that the others would get there soon.

Both she and the girl were yelling now...

(So bored... so thus... trouble!)

Cody got the page and read the location. "Cassie needs us, crap!" He ran for where it was, as it wasn't too far from the lab.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara pulled up her skirt and ran after him, heals or not. Cassie, I hope you are alright, she thought, being extremley careful about what she touched. Azmara didnt have a chance to grab her gloves when she rushed out after Cody. Now, she just hoped no one touched her.

Chase didnt even bother trying to put his boots on, he raced after Azmara and Cody, trying to keep up. He then noticed that Azmara didnt have her gloves. He hoped she didnt... touch anything or have anyone touch her. Her arms were bare after all. Chase sighed, watching out for Cassie.

[Elly]

They soon neared it- they could hear the sound of a struggle adn the skimmer was idling nearby.

Cassie was clutching onto the men, hard. one of them was about to go limp, the other still struggling. She had been banged into the wall several times, but kept hanging on.

The girl they had been attacking was on the ground, sobbing, obviously freaked.

Cody arrived first but couldn't shoot- Cassie was in the way, from that perspective.

[~Haruka~]

"Cassie! MOVE!" Azmara demanded. When Cassie moved, Azmara (for lack of anything better) threw her shoe at the guys head. And none too gently either. Chase was trying not to die of laughter as he rushed in to help Cassie.

[Elly]

The back of her head was bleeding, and she had reopened her wounded leg. She probably had a minor concussion, but it was evident she wasn't going to the hospital. she was cursing up a storm though, under her breath.

Cody then jumped on them and cuffed them. He called the crew in charge of the attacks like this that had been happening, and a medic for the girl and to examine cassie

[~Haruka~]

Chase handed Azmara her shoe back, careful not to make skin to skin contact. He was still struggling not to laugh at the whole thing with Azmara throwing her shoe at the guy. Well, they couldnt have used guns, they would have shot Cassie and Cassie didnt need another bullet hole.

Azmara put her shoe on then looked at Cassie. Azmara knealed down next to her, not touching her though. "Are you alright?" she asked, worried.

[Elly]

"I'm fine... is the girl okay?" cassie said, more worried about the girl though her pupils were dialated and it was obvious she had a concussion.

The team in charge of murders like these arrived and began to process, one of them walking over to collect the team's statements.

The medics arrived and started to treat the girl.

Cody kept the public from doing anything stupid.

[~Haruka~]

"I'll find out, dont move!" Azmara commanded. She walked to the medic and leaned down. "Is she going to be alright?" Azmara asked, looking from the medic to the girl.

Chase joined Cody in holding the nosy public back.

[Elly]

"Yep, your girl stopped them in time. Oh, Kaylen, go check out the savior, hm?"

The tough looking young woman nodded, going over.

"I'm fine." Cassie todl her, though Kaylen simply examined her (despite Cassie's obvious not-happiness with it) and said she would have to be supervised by someone for the next 14 horus.

Cody chuckled. "You know Chase, Cassie is a walking accident."

[~Haruka~]

"If Cassie's a walking accident, what does that make our boss?" Chase asked then: "oww!"ed under his breath at another person stepping on his toes.

Azmara giggled. "Looks like you're going to the hospital, Cassie-wassie," she told, smiling brightly.

[Elly]

"Noooo..." Cassie made af ace, and Kaylen chuckled.

"Actually, from what I've hearda bout ya'll, she never gos home- so you guys get to amke sure she dosen't pass out anywhere." Kaylen smiled. " She gets to work, just kep an eye on her. none of us want her in the hospital, she would drive certain people nuts!" Kaylen held out a bottle of pills. "These are for when her head manages to realize it should be hurting."

[~Haruka~]

Azmara took the bottle, avoiding contact. She smiled. "Alright," she told. "Chase," she called and the boy ran over. "We're going home," Azmara informed and Chase picked Cassie up as gently as possible.

[Elly]

Kaylen bandaged up Cassie's head and smiled at them. "Later." She shooed the team off.

"Um, we need to get the skimmer back.." Said Cody.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara sighed. "You're driving," she told him walking behind Chase. Azmara didnt know if that was an offer for a ride or if that was just an observement. In any case, the quiet girl walked behind her two friends deep in thought.

[Elly]

Chase did, driving alongside them.

Cassie simply dealt with it. Usually there were tangible emotions around her, but not today. She locked herself down- she hated doing that. It reminded her of one of the few times she had worked without the team.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara sighed. A man walked past and bumped into her arm. Flashes flew across her eyes and she whipped around. "Wait," she said, then ran after him faster than she ran for Cassie. "Azmara!" Chase cried, looking after the black/burgandy blur fly around a corner.

[Elly]

Cody went after her, Chasing the suspect as fast as he could. But the man ducked down a dark alley, vanishing almost.

Cassie's eyes got that far out look they got sometimes. as she saw the future- she was with the others, seeing that the man would escape.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara was on his tail, ahead of Cody. "Wait!" she cried, following him the best she could. Then the guy climbed a gate, jumping it then ran again. "Dammit!" Azmara cried, kicking the gate a few times before it flew open. When Azmara set her mind on something, she went after it with everything she had. She sprinted after the man again.

Chase stood there, confused and shocked. What had Azmara seen for her to react that insanely.

[Elly]

Cassie went back to normal, at least as she ever got. That vision was more intense than normal, and she winced as she felt where she and Chase needed to go.

"That was the ripper. Turn to the right and walk, his latest vic is in the alley." She said calmly, voice flat.

Cody just followed, eventually having to run like hell because the man was of the streets. He had gloves in his back pocket.

[~Haruka~]

"I said 'wait' God d@mn it! If I have to shoot your a$$; I will!" Azmara shouted after the guy, not kidding around either. This man was starting to make her a little angry.

Chase sighed. He shifted Cassie into one arm and he called the corner and everyone else he needed to call.

[Elly]

Cassie was glad he didn't ask. Azmara and the others.. they didn't need to know about the future flashes. They were not fun,a nd.. sometimes, they could get her fired.

The man suddenly really did vanish.

he turned a corner, and when they turned he was gone.

Cody cursed. "He got away!"

[~Haruka~]

Azmara panted. "Dammit, dammit, dammit, DAMMIT!" she cursed, kicking a random thing. She tried to calm her breath and heart down as she stood there.

[Elly]

cody put an arm around her. "Breathe.. oh.." He handed her the gloves.

Cassie looked at the scene and felt sick. She got to work, limping and just doind her job. She said nothing as she worked, processing carefully.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara blushed but took her gloves and put them on. The gloves she chose matched any dress ( how she didnt know ) and they went up to her upper arms. Yes, she was paranoid about people touching her. Wonder why. "I should have shot him." she said, then turned around and started walking back.

Chase never asked. He didnt need to know. What Cassie saw was her buisness and hers alone.

Cody smiled. "We'll get him, someday.." he said gently.

Cassie did her job, neat and sensibly as ever. She soon finished, and leaned on a wall, standing.

"We would have had him sooner if I shot him," Azmara told, walking to the scene.

Chase just patted her shoulder.

[Elly]

"He got away." Cassie said as the two were audible, thier footsteps recognizeable.

"Yeah.. but now we know what he looks like!" Cody said happily.

Cassie sighed as they got there. " 'Mara, you get to take your photos, then we can head back. The coroner will send us the repotrt, though it's pretty obvious."

Azmara kept silent as she looked around, taking mental pictures first then actuall photos. Chase claimed he needed them in compairson but Azmara didnt. Sighing, she held up her skirt with one hand and stepped on uncontaminated areas while taking pictures.

Cassie watched, thinking. She pursed her lips, a little bit out of it.

Azmara sighed, trying to get back through the blood. A thought hit her. "Cassie... they have my blood on file... right?" she asked, suddenly thinking about a whole different method.

"Yes.." Cassie said. "They have all of us on file."

Azmara smiled, handing Cassie her camera. "Good," she told, taking off one of her gloves.

Chase looked at her weirdly. Was she planning on doing what he thought she was gonna do?

"Azmara, what in the hell are oyu doing?" Cody asked.

Cassie shut her eyes. She knew what she was gonna do...

"Compairing," Azmara said simply, knealing down. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes as her bare fingers just barley touched the ground.

Chase got ready to catch Azmara if she fell or started screaming. It wasnt rare for Azmara to be in the victims 'place' as she saw what happened. And it wasnt rare for Azmara to feel their feelings.

[Elly]

Cassie got ready to play distraction.

Cody... just stood and waited.

Cassie was shivering, as cold winds blew. She winced as several visions flashed in her mind, of Chase, running.

Of Azmara crying, and Cody kissing her.

and of herself, laying on the ground.

she bit her lip, noticing it was bleedingonly when the warm blood dripped down her chin. She sucked on it, to keep them from noticing.

Azmara touched the ground, finally. Immediatly, things flew in front of her eyes and tears started to fall. The fear was almost too much. The blood, tehe fear, the despiration, the... just everything.

[Elly]

Cody lunged, steadying her as she seemed about to fall.

Cassie sensed the fear, and countered- peace seemed to fill the crime scene, suddenly.

Azmara just clenched her eyes shut, looking terrified and as if she was about to sob.

Chase watched her intently.

[Elly]

Cody held her steady, and the peace grew more pervading.

Cassie was shaking, she rarely projected.

((XD okays.))

[~Haruka~]

The images flew faster and faster over her eyes as she saw the victim run, then suddenly, she was in the woman's place. Backed into a corner, she didnt have time to react as her throat was slit. Azmara, and the woman, screamed. The woman fell in her vision and the man did what he wanted but Azmara didnt stop screaming.

[Elly]

Cody couldn't bear it= he picked her up, breaking the contact.

"Azmara, it's okay, its' okay!" He said, trying to rouse her.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara pushed away from him, sprinting out of the allyway. She couldnt get out of there fast enough! A few feet away, she collapsed and threw up, shaking and crying still.

Chase looked from Cassie to the figure of Azmara, wondering what she saw to break her that badly.

[Elly]

Cassie was paler than normal.

Cody was calm- he went and held her head, keeping her hair (which had fallen from the bun) out of her face. "Its okay.." He said, trying to comfort her.

The peace surrounding them all was surreal. It was real.. scarily so.

Azmara whipped around, hugging him. She cried in his chest, just tramatized. "Oh God, that poor woman. Jesus christ.." she managed between sobs.

Chase rubbed Cassie's back, trying to comfort her as well.

[Elly]

She leaned her head on his chest, trying not to cry. She knew, sort of, what had happened- Azmara's emotions were flooding through her defence.

Cody held her, just trying to make her feel better. "Shhh...."

[~Haruka~]

Chase held Cassie, feeling Azmara's emotions as well. Her scream echoed in his head like it did when he got shot.

Azmara tried to calm down, but the images kept flooding back. She burried her face more into his chest.

[Elly]

But peace was also trying tog et in- it was strongest here, next to cassie. She was trembling, with the effort of not reliving azmara's vision with her.

Cody just held her tightly, trying to comfort her. "Its okay.. shh...."

Azmara calmed as best she could, sighing.

Chase rubbed her back.

[Elly]

"Feel better?"

Cassie slowly relaxed, as Azmara's emotions calmed.

she took a deep breath, smiling.

Azmara didnt feel better, she just had to force herself to calm down so Cassie didnt get anything else from her. As if her visions werent enough to handle. "Yeah.." she lied.

Chase felt her relax and relaxed himself.

[Elly]

"No you arn't, but meh. C'mon. You need coffee. And food. And coffee." The coroner arrived ands tarted to work as Cody carried Azmara to the skipper.

Cassie sighed. "We need to head back, I think." She said. she was clutching her kit so hard she had white knckles.

TYhe coroner was nearby, working.

"Relax," Chase soothed, slowly leading Cassie back to the lab.

Azmara let Cody do what he wanted, she wasnt protesting much anyway.

[Elly]

Cassie limped next to him, relaxed but still tense.

Cody got her back to the lab, and took her to the small back room where they crashed when they had to stay in house. He set her on a cot. "Sleep, superwoman.\

((sorry.. I had to go help recapture a runaway cat))

[~Haruka~]

"After what I just saw?! Hell no! And, if you leave, leave the lights on please," Azmara requested, holding her knees to her chest.

Chase helped her along.

[Elly]

"I'll stay with you." He said. "Will you at least just sit and try to relax?"

They got back, and Cassie sighed as she glared at thes tairs.

Azmara tried to relax, but she was still stiff. She had to keep reminding herself that she was safe, secure. Cody was there with her.

Chase picked her up, going up the steps.

[Elly]

Cassie squeaked and held on with her arms around his neck. She blushed. "Thank you."

Cody sat next to her and put an arm around her.

[~Haruka~]

"You have a concusion and a bullet hole in your leg. I'm letting you walk up the stairs. Not." he mumbled. Like heck he'd let her injure herself more.

Azmara clutched her legs more. She couldnt stand the memories of the fear, despiration and everything else. Azmara closed her eyes.

[Elly]

Cody gently hugged her. "It's okay... Azmara, we will get him. We will. I know it."

"Some would let me." Cassie said quietly.

[~Haruka~]

"Someone who didnt know you!" Chase mumbled. "I know you, you're my friend and I love my friends. It aaaaaaall adds up." he told.

Azmara hugged him back, still trying to get it out of her head.

[Elly]

"Um, actually he knew me better than you, Chase." She said softly, zoned and hurting enough to actually talk about her life before moving here straight outta college.

cody started singing, his deep voice rumbling.

[~Haruka~]

"Well then he's a retard," Chase mumbled. "Who would let a beautiful girl like yourself hurt herself so much?" he asked.

Azmara focused on his voice instead of the thought and memories.

[Elly]

Cassie blushed, embarrassed. She wasn't beautiful, not in her own mind. she shrugged. "He knew me, in high school..."

[~Haruka~]

Chase shrugged. "And I work with you," he told, humor in his voice. "We pull allnighters and court dates together, how much better can it get?" he asked, amusement and humor in his voice.

[Elly]

"Well we-" She didnt'f inishe the sentance, instead blushing. She did NOT want to discuss that.

Nononono.

Cody was holding her, singing to her softly.

Chase smiled.

Azmara was thankfull someone was taking care of her. It wasnt often that this happened, but it happened at times. She held onto him, breathing in Cody's scent. It was actually comforting.

[Elly]

Cassie and he wre almost to her office- normally (for example, like the few times cody had carried her somehwere) she dind't like it. But she didnt mind, at least when it was chase.

Cody was trying to be comforting, he liked being near Azmara.

Chase nudged the door open again, slipping into the office. "Is Cody.... singing?" he mumbled, then shrugged again. Whatever kept him buisy. He set Cassie on another cot he dragged out from nowhere and layed her down. "Sleep," he told, smiling.

[Elly]

Cassie sent him a withering look. "Only if you do, you are more worn than me I'll bet."

Cody was drifting off as he held onto Azmara, sleepy.

Chase shrugged, then layed on the floor. Everything was locked up, he made sure of it.

Azmara was already asleep, having drifted off a while ago.

Cassie fell asleep, unconcious totally. One had drooped from the cot.

so they were all asleep when the door silently opened, and unhearable footsteps padded.

Cassie woke, briefly, but was silenced by a cholrophoam cloth. She was taken, silently, a note left in her place.

It would be hours before she was missed, as one was in her handwrting.. another, in her house, the kidnappers.

Azmara's eyes snapped open, suddenly feeling Cassie's sudden feelings. She gently pried herself out of Cody's arms and took off her shoes. Azmara then sprinted out, looking at the room Cassie was in. She picked up the note, threw it down and grabbed one of Cody's guns. Specifically, the Glock 20. Azmara then ran out of the door.

[Elly]

cody had woken, and followed.

Cassie had woken, tied up tightly. She was in complete darkness, and fear overwhelmed her. It was her own, and it projected to the minds of those she knew.

Chase, Cody, and Azmara.

She hated not beng able to move, and she couldn't. She was shaking, trapped.

On Cassie's bed was a note. It read:

"I have your little frined, and if you want her to live, you will deliver 525,600 dollars to the bridge of commons. Chase will be there, and in exchange for the money Herlocation will be told. If not... she becomes the next ripper victem."

It was signed the ripper.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara kicked the door down, no longer caring about being barefooted or gloveless. Her best friend was scared to death and it was making her scared. "CASSIE!" she yelled, looking around. "Sweetheart?!" she yelled again.

Chase got up at Cassie's fear and raced out as well.

[Elly]

On her bed, there was the dayglo yellow of the note, the terms in black ink. Cody found it. "She's..." He handed Azmara her gloves, then the note when she had them on.

Cassie was trying to calm down. But it was so tight.. the dark she could handle, but no room... She started to cry.

((He is gonna kiss her, when she cries.. if she cries...))

Azmara put one on then grabbed the note, reading it. She crushed it and slammed her fist in the wall. "This guy - he's p1ssing me off," she growled, suddenly very angry and very scared. She sat down, trying to cover up the fact she was crying.

Chase was unfolding the note, reading it himself. His back was to Cody and Azmara.

[Elly]

Cody hugged her. "We can do it, even without the money, we can fake it.." He said, trying to comfort her.

Then, seeing tht didn't work, he kissed her.

Cassie sobbed as she wished she could move, wishing she could move anything.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara blinked at the kiss. That... was shocking. But, semi-against her will, her eyes slid closed and she kissed him back.

Chase looked around the house.

[Elly]

Another wave of emotion swept them all- not the terror that had woken them, but sudden pain.

cody pulled away, eyes wide. "We have to.." He stood. "We are so screwed if we don't find her.."

Cassie screamed into her gag as a sharp pain lanced down her back, a sword point. "Shut up girl." She heard.. she obeyed, not wanting more pain.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara got up and grabbed the note.
"Oh.. I dont wanna do this," she groaned, then touched the note with her bare hand. Her eyes were closed, trying to see what was inside this guys' head.
"CHASE!" she called, not getting the location. He ran up, then looked at her, blinking.
"Here, find her!" she told, shoving the note at him.

[Elly]

Cody nodded. "I'll call the mayor- he might pay the ransom." He said. He pulled out his phone to do so.

Cassie's eyes were adjusting to the dark- she could see that she was somewhere in an ally. She could see a subway sign...

And that image was carried to the others, on pure fear and pain as whatever she was in, that she could barely see through..

Meanwhile, Cody called, shaking with the fear all of them were enduring from cassie.

All over the city people sensed it, children climbed in with thier parents, parents checke don one another.

Chase and Azmara were chasing down the location in Chase's head. He slammed a door open, yelling for Cassie. They felt it strongest here, but that could be a trick.

[Elly]

A mans voice came. "Who you tlakin to, ain't no wimmen here!" A rough dockhand came into view.

Then another man appeared, the one Azmara had seen. "Joseph, go back to your loft. They are looking for my girlfirend., that is all. They are worried for her."He said. It was lieing, but Joseph blieved him.


A woman, Tall and buxom, Yanked cassie from her wrappings. She pressed a knife to Cassie's throat, waiting.

Cody hung up on the mayor, running after them.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara walked forward, slowly. "Where is she? I know she's here; dont mess with best friend's bond." she stated dangerously. For once, Chase didnt interfear.

[Elly]

"Bring her, Katy."

the woman, tall, brought cassie out.

Cassie looked horrible. Her skin was pale, and her hair was everywhere. She had several more cuts than they had felt, and he was tied so that she could barely breathe. The knife at her throat already made a small red line.

"YOu want her back, alive, you pay. At midnight, as I said." The man chuckled. "Or her throat is slit now. You let us get away and pay us.. she will be alive when you get her back."

[~Haruka~]

"Let. My. Friend. Go." Azmara demanded coldly, taking another step forward. "Now," she added colder than before.

[Elly]

"no." The man said, then threw something at her head, and ran, grabbing cassie and jsut running.

Cassie screamed, struggling again, but he was strong.

then he made a mistake. He slipped, theknife in his other hand cutting her bonds as he ran off the roof. Cassie screamed as she fell, curling in on herself, the man was going to land on top of her.

[~Haruka~]

Azmara flew to the side, dodging the object. She was about to chase after them but as soon as Cassie went down, Azmara aimed. Firing, she hit everyone but Cassie. Azmara stopped firing her gun as everyone went down, her cold eyes following them.

Chase almost had a heart attack. He'd never seen Azmara actually kill someone. Not even for Cassie. But she did. He looked at Azmara and he nearly had another heart attack. Azmara looked so... cold, so angry, so emotionless. So terrified.

[Elly]

the man lay, dead. His accomplice, too.

Cassie sprawled on the cround, blood surrounding her.

cody called the medics, tlaking fast.

[~Haruka~]

Chase raced to Cassie. "Cassie!" he cried, holding her. "Answer me, please!" he begged.

Azmara watched, holding the gun still. She had tears falling down her face again. She killed people.... now she knew how Cassie felt. Not to mention her best friend was probably dying right in front of her.

[Elly]

Cassie was breathing, her heart beat. She was unconcious, though, but she was still alive.

As the medics arrived, she coughed, eyes opening.

Cody went to Azmara, wrapping his arms around her.

[~Haruka~]

Everything Azmara did hit her suddenly and the gun slipped out of her fingers. It clattered on the ground and Azmara cried more.

Chase handed Cassie to the medics.

[Elly]

Cody heled Azmara tightly, leting her cry into his chest.

"One of you needs to stay with her- we on't need her coming consious and loosing it.. I think we all felt those emotiosn..." Said one. She looked at chase. "You, by process of elimination." She dragged chase into the ambulance where Cassie was.

[~Haruka~]

Chase wasnt protesting, he was actually gonna ask to go.

"I killed someone," she whispered, curling her hands into fists.

[Elly]

The medics worke don her, bandaghing things, loking after her. After at ime they sat, and they were all headed off. He was lone with her, there was nothing they could do more.

Cassie looked over at him. "Thanks.." she whispered.

"I know. It's alright..." he said. "It was them or Cassie... it was the innocent or the deamons..."

[~Haruka~]

Chase held her hand, smiling.

Azmara pulled back a bit, looking at him. "Why'd you kiss me?" she asked.

[Elly]

"Because I kinda like you a lot and I couldn't bear seeing you so sad..." He blushed.

"I.. owe you." Cassie was looking at him. Her eyes were red from crying- the line across her throat was vivid, andthe marks from the ropes obvious.

[~Haruka~]

"No, you dont owe me... just stay safe," he told, kissing her hand.

Azmara smiled softly and kissed his cheek.

[Elly]

He went redder, embarrassed.

She blushed, slightly. "Considering.. my line of work... kinda hard."

[~Haruka~]

"Then carry a gun 24/7!" Chase suggested. "I dont want to loose you, Cassie," he told, looking at her.

Azmara gently poked his cheek. "You're red," she told him quietly with a soft smile.

[Elly]

"Well yeah..." he said.

"Normally do..." She said weakly. "But.. why so unhappy.. bout loosing me?"

[~Haruka~]

Chase leaned over and kissed her softly, hoping that would send the message through.

Azmara gently smiled, then backed up and went out the door. She ran down the street, heading to the hospital.

[Elly]

He followed, smiling.

She blushed, kissing back, a little. Then the door creaked, signifying that someone was about to come in.

[~Haruka~]

Chase didnt care, he gave the person a deathglare.

Azmara panted, opening the ambulance doors. Chase gave her a deathglare and she shut the door again. "S-sorry!" she said.

At the alone time again, he smiled at Cassie softly. "Does it send the message through?" he asked.

[Elly]

She nodded. "I'm glad.."

Several medics opened the door, then. "We need to take your little lady here and X-ray her." Said one, gently taking the streacher and moving ehr. She smiled at him, as she was wheeled in.

Cody blinked. "Did those two just kiss?" he asked Azmara.

Azmara nodded. "I got deathglared at," she said, smiling.
