On the night of the full moon, one of the richest families in London threw a grand ball. Their daughter spent most of the night talking to the people her parents told her to talk to, and standing out on the balcony. Later that night she noticed a boy she didn't even see before, and apparently he had noticed her as well, for he was walking toward her. He asked her to dance, and they danced for the rest of the night.
When the night finally came to an end they were both upset at having to separate, but he promised to see her again, and left without another word. Every Saturday her parents held a ball, and every Saturday the boy would show up, and they would dance. Finally the daughter had had enough of not being able to see the love of her life, and so when he came for the next ball she confronted him.
He told her to meet him that night at midnight and he would explain everything to her. That night she went out onto the balcony, after everyone was asleep, while still fully clothed in her ball gown, and waited. It didn't take very long for the guy to come back to her. He told her his name, and that he was a vampire from a far away land. She gasped in shocked, but was not afraid.
He told her that he would come to see her every night, and promised that one day soon, he would come and take her away. So from then on he came to see her, but one night he didn't come to see her. She spent the whole night waiting for him, but he never showed. The next night he didn't show up to see her either. Then finally on the third night he came back. But something seemed different. He seemed to stay farther away from her, and every time she went to get close to him, he would just push her away. She came to find out that he was craving blood.. or more importantly craving her blood.
He didn't want her to become one of them right then, but she wanted to stay with him forever, so she told him to bite her. In a panicking moment he flew away. She waited for days, but he never came back for her.
Now it's been a year, and she has a boyfriend, though she never forgot about her lost love. It's another full moon, and her family is holding another ball. But what happens when he comes back, and wants to take her away like he promised? Will she do it, or stay with her new boyfriend? And what's with her best friend liking her boyfriend? Every thing's getting so confusing!

"Fay...." Sydney called in a normal toned voice. She was told to find Fay, but Sydney didn't really feel like it. "Oh, Fay...."

Fay sighed deeply as she sat in her bedroom. She heard her best friend Sydney calling for her, and being in the mood not to talk to anyone at the moment, she climbed out the window, and onto the roof. She sighed, and dangled her feet of the side of the roof, looking up at the moon.

Xavier walked down the hallway, Xander right by his side. He spotted Sydney not far away, and smiled. "Hey Sydney," he called out to her.

He could feel her presence...It'd been so long since her'd seen her. He wanted to simply touch her if only that. Ezra appeared next to Fay. He took her into his arms and whispered, "Fay....How I've missed you."

Sydney was about to smile and blush. But, her cynical side slapped her and all that came out of her mouth ws a simple, "Hey."

Fay gave a squeak of surprise as someone hugged her. Then she heard a voice. His voice. She felt her breath get caught in her throat, and she hugged him back. "Oh Ezra.... I've missed you so much," she whispered.

Xavier smiled brighter. "What are you doing this fine night?" he asked her, letting Xander run ahead to Sydney.

"Oh, you know the usual. Nothing." Sydney said. She brightened when she saw Xander. She knelt down and pet the dog. "Why, hello Xander. Have you been good to Xavier?" Xander yelped happily. Sydney stood. "So, ah. What's up with you?"

"Not much too, just walking with Xander," Xavier said, petting Xander on the head gently. Xander licked Xavier's hand. "Eww, dog slobber,' he laughed, rubbing his wet hand on his pants. he smiled at Sydney again, "are you excited about the ball tomorrow night?" he asked her.

Fay looked up at Ezra, "what are you doing here?" she asked quietly. It didn't really make sense, he just disappeared, then reappeared again tonight? But she had to admit it was very great seeing him again.

"Fay, I am sorry for my...absence. I have truly, truly missed you. I just wanted to see you..." Without hesitation, he pressed his lips against Fay's. He kissed her a bit roughly, it'd been so long. He tipped her head back and gently opened her lips with his tongue.

"Eh, sure. If you like standing around in deadly corsette's and trying to look pretty when your actually suffocating. " Sydney laughed wryly.

Fay closed her eyes, and kissed him back hungrily. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and pulled him closer to herself. She had missed him so much, and it really showed. She pulled away, and curled into a ball on his lap. "I've missed you so much Ezra... Why did you have to leave me..." she whispered, tears coming to her eyes.

Xavier chuckled, "boy am I glad I'm not a girl. Being a girl always sounds so painful," he said, shaking his head, smiling.

Sydney laughed. "Don't sound so dissaproving of girls. Afterall, we've got something guys don't." Sydney smirked.

It pained Ezra dearly to see Fay cry. He tried to wipe her tears away, but they kept coming. "Fay." He lifted her face up by her chin. "I...I'm sorry..."

"And what is that?" Xavier asked, smirking as well, "magical powers?"

Fay whipped at her eyes, and leaned against Ezra, holding onto him with slightly shaking hands.

"No. Boobs." Sydney said simply.

Ezra leaned back and held Fay's hands. "Stop chaking..." He commanded his a firm yet soft and gentle voice. "Fay...My love..."

Xavier started laughing. "So? Guys have something girls don't have, though I bet girls do get more attention," he chuckled.

Fay's bottom lip trembled, and she hugged onto Ezra, "I'm sorry..." she said quietly, "for doing whatever I did to make you leave, I'm sorry... Just please don't leave me again.."

Sydney snorted. "Yeah! " She laughed. Sydney realized then. That these was the first times, in a long long time, that she'd laughed so openly. "Of course, your being a little sexist here Xavier. I'm sure guys get the same attention we do."

Xavier laughed loudly. "Guys can't possibly get as much attention as girls get! You girls spend hours getting ready while guys just pick out an outfit that would look good, and throw it on, fix our hair, and we're done," he smirked.

Fay sighed, calming down more. She closed her eyes, and her grip on Ezra loosened.

"Fay..." Ezra couldn't bear to see her at ends like this. It was already worse enough he had left her. "I'm....sorry..." He lifted her face to his and kissed her lips remorsefully.

"Ahem." Sydney glared jokingly at Xavier, "That exactly what we do too. Besides, Xavier, I hope you know now I'm not like most girls." It was true. Sydney had never been for elegant dresses or make-up. Besides, you don't really have time for that when your training to protect a princess.

Fay's heart skipped a beat, and she kissed him back passionately. She started to give butterfly kisses up his jaw, and kissed his temple. She looked him in the eyes, oh how she loved those eyes, and kissed him again.

Xavier crossed his arms, and smirked. "You're not like other girls? How?" he asked her, he wanted to make sure.

Ezra smiled, her lips tickled his face. Through the kiss, he uttered his voice muffled, "Fay...I love you...But...Your smothering me...."


Sydney smirked. She cartweeled and backflipped smooth and silent,with no effort to Xavier. The hall they were in was quite wide, so she had more than enough room. She knelt and tripped Xavier by uprooting his feet from the ground. Then, before he fell to the floor she manuevered her body behind him and pushed him up by the back. For the final bit of her small performance, she placed her hand on Xavier's head, steadying his body. She smirked, and that'd only taken a matter of seconds.

Fay stopped, and giggled. "I'm sorry," she appologized, hugging Ezra again. She was just so happy that she was with him again. That he was actually there with her. "I dream about seeing you all the time, and now? I couldn't be happier," she said softly.

Xavier stared at her wide-eyed. "That... Was... So... Cool! Can we do that again?" he asked seriously. He really was such a guy. Even he didn't know how to do that, all he knew how to do was sword fight.

Ezra's happiness was almost unbearable. He was beyond ecstatic to see her smiling face once again. He wanted to tell her, if he could dream, he'd dream of her every night. "Fay...Your so beautiful when you smile...I've missed your face so much..." He leaned into her. He tucked her hair behind her ear and whispered, "It was almost unbearable not being able to see your face..."


Sydney laughed. "We could," She said, "But, I want to see what you can do." She did, though she was sure, a pampered prince couldn't have started training with a master at the pruning age of two.

Fay smiled, "I've missed seeing your face as well Ezra... I missed you so much that my heart ached every single day that you were gone... But I'm better now that you're here," she said, snuggling up into him.

Xavier shook his head, and smiled. "I'm sorry, but i can't. I only sword fight. I can't do anything like that," he said, which was the truth.

"That's fine," Sydney said, "I'm willing to compromise. Grab a sword and we'll go to the courtyard." She smirked and walked down the hall. She stopped in front of a closet and kicked it forcefully. The door opened and she grabbed a sword, she always kept them there in this closet, just in case. She tossed one over to Xavier, closed the door, and continued down the hallway.

Ezra leaned over, he was a bit taller then Fay, and kissed her neck. He inhaled her smell slowly, it was so refreshing to simply hold her again.

Xavier shook his head. "I'm sorry Sydney, but I cannot fight a girl. I have sworn to it that I would never harm a girl, unless she did something against the law, even if she was just playing around," he said, letting the sword hang loosely from his hand.

Fay smiled, her eye slowly drifting closed. She felt tired all of a sudden, but she didn't want to leave yet, not after Ezra finally camed back.

Sydeny looked dissapointed. "Hey, come on. Your not going to harm me." She said defiantly. "This is a completely healthy non harming sword fight, alright?"


Ezra's lips lingered on her neck happily before he leaned away. "What have you been up to in my absence,love?" He inquired.

Xavier shrugged, "alright, but in case you haven't noticed it is almost midnight," he said, pointing over his shoulder, and out the window. "How about we do this tomorrow, when it's daylight? You know? Sometime before the ball," he said, it sounded like a better time that midnight to him.

Fay looked away, unable to tell her love about the boyfriend that her parents made her get. She felt a tear run down her face, and she quickly whipped it away. "You've been gone too long," she whispered.

Sydney nodded reluctantly. "Fine. Well, goodnight Xavier." She turned and headed off down the hall to her room.

Ezra looked pained. He'd made the only person he loved go through so much pain. "My absence....Couldn't have been avoided." He said a bit stiffly.

Fay shook her head. "It's alright.... I blame myself for everything... I know it's not your fault..." She shifted again, feeling even more tired now, but she didn't show it.

Xavier nodded, "goodnight Sydney," he said, and turned the opposite way. "Let's go Xander," he called to his dog, who followed behind him faithfully.

Ezra clutched Fay's hand. "No, you mustn't blame yourself. I was the one who left you. If your going to blame someone, blame me. You weren't the reason why I had to leave..."

Sydney gave Xavier a fleeting smiling before turning into her room. She sighed heavily as she undressed to take a bath. This wasn't right. Sydney liked Xavier, but it wasn't meant to be. Xavier was her best friends boyfriend, and not the mention a princesses boyfriend. She had no chance. Besides, who would trade a princess girlfriend for her stupid body guard?

Fay shook her head. "No! It's my fault for what's happening now! I know something I did made you leave, and after you never came back my parents asked me what was going on. I had to tell them something, so I told them that you moved away, and they...." she couldn't finish. She didn't want to tell him she had a boyfriend. He would probably just leave her again, and she was so scared because she didn't want that to happen.

Xavier glanced back as Sydney walked into her room. He walked into his own room, and closed the door behind Xander. He sighed. He knew he shouldn't like Sydney the way that he did, he was the princess's boyfriend. "If only she could get someone else that her parents approve of," he muttered.

"They...what? Fay?" Ezra didn't like the tone of her voice, "Fay?"

Sydney bathed and got into her bed. But sleep didn't come. She always had trouble sleeping in the palace. She was used to conservative living quarters, nothing extra there, nothing that she didn't need. The room was large and the bed was large, and it was all very unneccisary. Sydney sighed and turned on her side.

Fay shook her head. "I... i-it's n-nothing r-really..." She said turning away. "I just want to forget about it... Though he's still going to be here..." she whispered.

Xavier got changed, and sat down on his bed. Xander jumped up at the end of it, and layed down, staring at him. "What should I do Xander? Should I just go to the king, and ask him for Sydney instead?" he asked the dog. "But I don't want to get on the king's bad side," he sighed, "I don't know what to do."

Ezra face turned stern. "Who, Fay?"

Despite her rambling thoughts, Sydney fell asleep within the hour.

Fay laughed dryly. "My boyfriend," she said quietly.

Xavier sighed, and layed down, pulling the blanket up to his waist. He stared at the ceiling, wondering what he should do.

Ezra pursed his lips, a thing he often did when he was trying to control his temper. "I'm sorry..." It seemed like he'd said that about a million times in this night alone. "Me being with you was putting you in danger...There wasn't much else I could do but leave you."

Fay looked up at him. "Didn't you already figure out that I didn't care how dangerous it was? As long as I was with you I was alright, and I was happy! After you left I just wanted to die! I had nothing worth living for! My life went out of control, and I didn't know what to do anymore!" She shook her head, and looked away. "It doesn't matter though... You'll probably just leave me again..."

Ezra's heart clenched, though it'd stopped beating a long time ago. "I...Didn't want to put you in any danger that could've been avoided." He said firmly. "I will not leave you again. Fay," His voice was softer. "I love you with every fiber of my being." He took Fay's hand lightly. "....Would you like to know why I had to leave you?"

Fay looked up at him, and nodded. "Yes.... Why did you leave me Ezra?" she asked. She felt tears coming to her eyes again as she looked upon the love of her life, the reason her heart kept on beating every single day.

Ezra took Fay in, and held her warm body against his icy chest. He took a breath, "There was a coven of vampires after me. I thought...I'd lost them a couple decades before, but apparently not."

Fay looked up at him, as she layed against him. "Did you lose them?" she asked, a little afraid that he was going to say no, and have to leave without her again.

"Yes." Did he lose them as in kill them all? Then, yes. "They're all gone."

Fay smiled. "So you're not going to leave me again?" She asked hopefully, she didn't want him to leave again, if you haven't noticed.

"No. I'm not going to leave you. Ever." Ezra reassured her. "But...Is this boyfriend of yours going to be a problem?"

Fay's smile faded, she hadn't thought about her boyfriend in a while. "Umm... I think I can ask my dad if I can break up with him. I don't like him at all...."

Ezra's was immediately happy, but he didn't show it. He didn't show his complete disdain for the single word either. He smiled and kissed Fay on her forehead. "You should get some sleep, my love. You looked tired." He picked Fay up and went inside her room. He laid her on her bed then laid beside her.
