Tomorrow is going to be one of the most mortally embaressing, terrifying, mentally scaring day of my life.
This is why:
Tomorrow I have to...
Tell my crush, Shane, he's hot. Except, he's one of my best friends. I plan on avoiding this one by saying, "You know Shane... You're hot. Like an icecube!"
The next is... I have to ask this weird guy, Josh, out. If he says 'yes', then I have to go out with him for at least 2 weeks. There's only one way to get out of this one, unless he says 'no'. I also have to ask Shane if he'll go out with me. If he says 'yes', then my best friend, Tori, who hates Josh will get to break up with him for me.
Next, I have to go up to my former crush, Nick, who's my ex-boyfriend, and who I slightly still like, and do this odd tapping thing on his shoulder, then snap and say "OOH!" and walk away. This isn't too bad.
I have to hug Tori's ex-boyfriend for at least 20 seconds. And he hates me. -.-
Then. I have to walk with my fingers across Shane's shoulders, put my arm around him and say "How ya doin'~?"
I also have to dress like a slut. -.- Fabulous.
And then, these two friends of mine, Shaun and Sara. We all know they're meant to be. Except them. -.- So I have to ask Shaun out for Sara, which means Sara's gonna kill me. She's very voilent. Though I already did this one, and Shaun said 'I don't know.' =^.^=
Then I have to ask this odd 6th grader out, who I had a crush on at the begining of the year. He thinks I'm weird. I plan on saying I didn't see him, and getting out of it. This is the only one I'm planning on shrugging off.
At recess I have to do this odd dance, and then ask Shane to dance with me.
Then I have to:
Make-out with my mathbook.
Shift my eyes and sing the MI theme song.
Try to talk like Bugs Bunny.
Walk up to my two friends Carl and Jordan, slap them, then say "NOOO!" And hug them.
Then run around singing "NANANANANA! BATMAN!" And then going, "Oh yeah. Oh no. Oh ye- Oh no!" Back and forth with myself.
All because I spent the weekend at Tori's.
...
-.-
Someone.
Shoot me.
Please.
And the whole 'Damn you, Clearasil!' thing. Was because Tori and I were saying 'Clearasil! May cause confidence.'
>_< Otherwise I would have never chosen 'Dare' when we were playing T or D.
Then I hit myself on the head because I realized you're not supposed to curse in Thread titles.
-head/desk-
Sorry... Could a mod change it to 'darn'?

Want me to change the font or color? Sorry. ^^;;; They're my signature color and font.
Guendolen_Sama
05-27-2008, 02:43 AM
The font is fine; the color is what's difficult. It blends in with the background too well and makes it hard to see. As for these dares... this is why I would never play this game, at sleepovers and what not. Because I didn't want to have to do stuff like this.... Granted, the kids likely wouldn't have thought up some of these dares, at that time. You kids today are much more precocious, after all.
Its fine, you don't have to.
rockerchic24
05-27-2008, 02:45 AM
Ah. Okies. I'll make it darker.
I usually choose Truth, because it's Tori and mine's signature thing to do at our sleepovers. That and this one game we just thought of.
Psh. Tori makes precocious look like 'innocent'. xD We call ourselves 'closet perverts'. I blame White. =3
Nah, it's okay. ^^ Gray's good too. How's that?

Haha. Me too, though. ^^ That's the advantage of having a best friend who's 3 years older then you for a best friend growing up. And also his 6 year older sister. I learned everything I know there. Except one thing. But that's in French, and they don't know french.
Sounds entertaining, coeur. I probably would look drunk but would probably just be tired. xD
The 'damn' is fine, lol. NANANANANNANANA BATMAN!!!

Your sig sounds like me and Tori. We went fishing yesterday, and today we danced.
By the way... Post in LOVE, please. I don't want to have to revive it a 3rd time. ^^

Streaking in general is a school tradition here. If you want to be really old-fashioned, you'll streak about a quarter of a mile from one end of the old campus to the other, touch a statue of Thomas Jefferson with your nudist paws (he was the founder of the school), and run back--all without the cops catching you.
But it's usually quite a stress reliever.

Haha no, I attend the University of Virginia--William and Mary was founded before Jefferson's time. Most people manage it as the cops understand it's tradition and some people even go for special numbers like...100.

Haha I think it's just a natural result of having guys around me all the time. I started dating rather late--19--but it was a relationship in which clothes did come off. Ever since I've been pretty comfortable parading around in little or nothing because, frankly, there's no point in washing more clothes than you need to :)
Guendolen_Sama

I definitely think it's possible to achieve it on your own though :). I don't 100% love my body. I certainly would like longer legs and a smaller beer&wine gut, but all in all, I tend to view my body as just that--a body. My arms and legs are just limbs, just like my breasts are just another part of my anatomy. It doesn't bother me if a friend sees my breasts because, frankly, if no one makes the situation sexual then breasts really are just another body part. I've seen my roommate stark naked and it was just sort of a "okay whatever" type of thing.
My boyfriend obviously doesn't share that sentiment because he gets very annoyed when I wear short skirts and shorts. Honestly though, I never buy clothes because I think they'd get attention; I buy clothes because I think they're awesome and I tend to think my legs are pretty damn awesome.
A body can be about sex but it could just be a body haha and that's what I tend to see my body as. I'm not exactly 100% satisfied with it (I mean, I eat burgers everyday and never exercise...plus I used to smoke cigarettes and do other unsavory things...so it's a pretty beat up body) but I'm pretty proud of it haha.

See, the only thing about me I think I can be proud of is the strength I have from several years of martial arts. Otherwise, to my mind, I'm just a pale, plain lardball on legs that no one would ever want to get a closer look at, including me. It's just much more comfortable to have the loads of flaws all covered up. There really isn't much worth showing off, to my mind.

If there's something you're not happy with your body then the easiest thing to do is to change it. Bodies are pretty malleable and there's no reason to believe you'll be stuck in the same body type forever. Of course it'll be work but everything worth accomplishing has required work and sometimes tears haha...like term papers on feminism

I've tried. Believe me, I've tried. It hasn't worked. I pretty much don't like anything about how I look, really. But no matter what I do, I stay just as round and flabby as I've ever been. I work out, I try to eat healthy, but it stays the same. The only way I can make an appreciable difference is to eat a dangerously low amount of calories per day and couple it with large amounts of training. The stress of that lifestyle would drive me nuts.

At least you can get stuff that's nice, though. For me, most of what's available in my size is frumpy old lady clothes. :P And what doesn't fall under that descriptive term is typically on the expensive side. Dress clothes are the worst.... do you have any idea how hard it is to find plus-size dress pants that aren't made of scratchy polyester? Egads, it's ridiculous. I guess a lot of makers believe that if you cared about looking nice, you'd do whatever it took to get skinny.... You skinny girls do have it much easier, unless you're really tall. I've got an online friend elsewhere with that problem. She's one of nature's few people who's naturally quite thin, but is also quite tall. So she has a hard time finding pants that fit and aren't too short.

Remember girls: you can always get your clothes tailored to fit correctly. Thankfully my mother is a great tailor so I usually relegate that to her but my boyfriend gets his clothes tailored regularly to accommodate his tastes like making his ties skinny or getting a pair of pants to fit just right. Needless to say he's a sharp-looking guy: IF ONLY HE'D STOP WEARING CHE GUEVARA ATTIRE.
Sorry, that was my inner capitalist yelling at him.
Also, I find online shopping can do wonders because you have the measurements of the clothes given to you so you can see if they will fit your body, probably better than if you were just to eyeball the size in the stores. I always try my clothes on too which, oddly, some people don't do, so I make sure the clothes fit the way I want them to before I buy.

It's an investment but hopefully, if you have a small number of clothes that fit you perfectly, you won't need a million articles of clothing. Of course, I still buy clothes just because I'm fanatical about shopping (I just spent 200 dollars in a week on clothes haha), but I figure when I get around 25 I will really settle down and start buying higher quality clothing. My friend and I have decided that, when we write, we will probably publish under male aliases because we sort of dislike female authors in general--and we think society does too. I can't remember a single published female author I've read in the past year (who has published under a clearly female name)--and I probably read about 100-200 good-sized novels a year--who has left a strong, good impression with the exception of Rachilde, but she paraded around 19th century Paris in male attire so I'm not sure how much that counts. I've even disliked the traditionally-praised female authors like Virginia Woolf and Sylvia Plath.
I definitely think female authors are expected to write about women and women's issues when they write and, while that's plenty interesting, I do find a lot of it whiny and melodramatic, and that's why I don't see it as literature that appeals to a large audience. All of my literary idols are male so I would definitely write under a male alias to avoid having my writing fall into the same box.

I usually don't read popular fiction unless a good friend with really trusted taste recommends it to me. My passion has always been really complex works of literature that has tons of criticism written for it and is symbolic of some period of history; I suppose, when I read a novel, I always ask the question, "How is this significant?" and, unfortunately, a lot of published work isn't significant, which is why the 'Literature' section of most bookstores is half as long as the manga section.
I'm really interested in contemporary Asian and Asian-American literature and I've been really impressed by authors like Tao Lin and Haruki Murakami who use pop culture references to enrich their literature. Tao Lin's novel Eeee Eee Eeeee is really a gem of the modern media culture and I love how he brings in other works like recent Pulitzer Prize winner Jhumpa Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies. Other contemporary authors that catch my eye: Ryu Murakami, Koto Abe, Michael Ondaatje, Chuck Palahniuk (though I hate his writing style, I think his content is very fun and funny), and David Sedaris (a homosexual creative nonfiction writer). But the real apples of my eye have to remain Kafka, Flaubert, T.S. Eliot, Faulkner, and Hemingway.
