A teen survived a car crash that ended the life of his father, brother, sister and mother. He returns to school two weeks later, an outcast. He hates life, and everyone in it, but he hides it very well. No one but him actually knows whats going on in his head. Fear the blackness, for within it, lies your darkest fears.

Three of them were left now. The five that had started, had been wittled down in little under an hour. Well, four really. But James was dieing quickly. They had heard the wolves and started running. But it was too late. Issac had tripped over a rock and broke both his legs, the bones sticking out of the skin, and warm blood gushing slowly down his legs. The wolves caught him, and started to rip him apart. The screams filled their ears as his intestines were spilled and his arms ripped off. They could still hear them as they clambered up the tree. James hadn't made it all the way, and the remaining wolves had grabbed his legs and started to knaw them off, stopping his climb. He was crying in pain as blood gushed from a severed artery, only intensifying the attack. He looked up at Sarah, John, and Ashley. "Tell my mom...I love her. Ash, I'm sorry." He managed before his arms gave out and he fell to the ground. They had to watch their best friend die, screaming in pain. The worse thing was, they left him barely alive, looking up at them. His eyes eventaully went blank, and glossy as he died.

Jeremy laid on the side of the road, looking at the flaming car. His head throbbed uncontrolably and he saw a flaming piece of metal coming down on his chest, killing him. He jolted up right in bed and sighed. 2 weeks since they died...2 weeks since he changed. He sat up, showered, dressed, and went to school, not caring if anyone talked to him.

Sara was already at school. Sitting on the bench in front and reading a fav book of hers. She tended to not care about people so much and had decided to ignore them all today.

Emily slipped her sunglasses on, as taky as they were, and shoved her hands into her pockets, taking her time into getting to her class, her teacher wouldnt be there anyway, it was too early.

Sky sighed loudly, throwing his alarm clock across his room. "I dont want to go to school!" He yelled, sitting up.

Jeremy was sitting, alone, in the darkest corner outside he could find.

Krystal was sitting under a tree, humming to herself and reading.

Emily walked around some more, tilting her head slightly when she spotted a boy sitting in a corner and a girl with a book. "Bunch of emo's.."She muttered to herself, not that she could really talk.

Sky got up, got dressed in anything that looked decent and ran just down the road to school. "Yo, Emmie!" He said loudly, waving a bit at the black haired girl.

Jeremy heard her whisper, even though he was so far away, and looked up at her, glarring. Hoping she would recognise him as the one who survived a head on collision with a gas tanker, that killed the driver, and his entire family.

Sara sighed and closed her book. "If you're going to be rude girl...then go somewhere else." She said down to her book, but talking to the girl.

Emily grinned, "I dont feel bad for you, you would have rather died." She hissed, ignoring the bookworm to be more polite, then looked back at Sky.

Sky hooked a arm around Emily's waist, "Whats up chicklet?" He asked."The floor." Emily snickered.

Jeremy punched the brick wall beside him, his hand bleeding from the bunch of cuts as he got up, and walked past them all. Tears were in his eyes even now. He sat underneath a different tree, and hugged his knees.

Sara gritted her teeth, grabbing her book until her knuckles were white.

"Looks like you hurt his feelings Emmie." Sky pouted a bit, pinching the ravenettes side.

"Ow! I am a hurt feeling." Emily laughed, slipping out of Sky's arms.

Sara stood up and walked past them forcfully, keeping her book in her hand.

Jeremy sat wher ehe was and his eye twitched.

Jeremy looked down at Sky, who's legs were broken, and walked over to Emily. "Now Sky, do I kill you, and make her watch? Or do I kill her and make you watch?"

Emily looked back, waving at the bookworm though her back was turned. "Have a nice day!" She chirped. Looking back over at Jeremy she gave him a dark look before returning back to bothering Sky.

Sky gave Emily and Jeremy a freaked out look, "You have to be kidding! Emily help me!" He winced, the pain in his legs making his breathing harder.

Jeremy walked towards her, and slit her throat with a large bowie knife before walking towards Sky. "She betrayed you. Like all women do." He said coldly, before stomping his head into oblivion.

Melody was just now getting to school. She had to fight with her older brother for a ride that morning. Once she got out of the car she sighed and walked over to a tree and popped a piece of candy into her mouth.

"Gimme." Emily stated, holding her hand out to Sky.

Sky stared at her a minute before realising what she ment, then pulled a hand held pencil sharpener from his pocket and handed it to her.

Emily worked on taking the pencil sharpener apart, continueing to walk with Sky latched around her waist, she took one of the several bent hooks off her pants and started picking at the screw that hald the little blade in.

Jeremy watched them, and held up his hand. The pencil sharpener's blade wiped out of the pencil sharpener, and into his hand. One more thing that had changed. His mind. He could move stuff.

Sara heard the 'wiz' and turned to look, staring at Jeremy. Not in a bad way, but almost with admiration.

Emily rolled her eyes, "Kill yourself, please." She sneered.

Jeremy raised the blade and looked at her. "I...can't...die. The car fuc.king exploded...and I was pierced threw the heart with a piece of metal. And yet, I'm still here." He said coldly as he sliced his arm deeply, dragging it up to his elbow. He laughed at the pain, and let the blood drip down his hand.

Melody looked over at him. She shook her head and sighed a little.

Jeremy shut his eyes tightly as he sat back down, the blood flowing but slowly stopping, leaving nothing but a mess.

Melody hesitated before she got up and went near to him. From what she had hured he was the one form the car crash.

Jeremy sat there, knees pulled into his chest, and resting his head on his knees.

"Would you be alright if everyone you cared about was dead? If you had no friends to help you through the blackest part of your life? If everyone looked at you like a freak." Jeremy said coldly, but full of sorrow.

Melody sighed "People look at me as if I'm a freak...and I know how you feel my parents were killed when I was little, I'm still getting over it." She looked at him "And if you need a friend I could be your friend..."

Jeremy looked into her eyes. "But I am a freak. I survived an explosion. A pierced heart. Hell, I just slit my wrist in a way that should kill you, yet I'm still here."

Melody gave him a small smile "So, If you're still alive than there is something your suppose to do while you're alive..." she held out a piece of candy to him "You just have to figure out what."

Jeremy took the candy calmly, and poped it into his mouth.

Melody smiled a little than sat down "My name is Melody, and your's is?" she asked kindly.

"Jeremy." He said calmly, looking at her.

"Nice to meet you." She said looking at the tree, she had forgotten her contacts that morning...

"Do you wear contacts or glasses?" Jeremy asked calmly.

"Normally Contacts...dang, I guess I have to wear my glasses..." Melody said rummaging threw her bag. She sighed and pulled out a pain of black glasses nothing to out Standish, just a normal pair of glasses.

Melody smiled a little 'Thanks." she said putting them on.

Jeremy smiled and looked at her before leaning back against the tree and looking at the sky. "It's going to rain...I love the rain."

Melody looked up smileing "The rain is peaceful...And the sound it make when it hit a roof can send me to sleep." she laughed a little "I just hope it rains during gym..."

Jeremy smiled. "It was raining that day."

Melody looked back at him "Huh?" she tilted her head to one side and thought "Oh...The day the crash happened..."

Jeremy nodded slowly. "They don't know what happened...but I do. I'm the only one."

"Not yet...I don't trust you enough. Don't feel offended, I don't trust anyone right now."

Jeremy smiled as the rain started. It looked like he was crying the way it landed on his face,

Melody wiped a few drops off her glasses than sighed as she lied down in the grass. She looked up at the sky and sang softly to her self 'Clouds Oh won’t you tell us, what these tears are for...Do you weep for something, something we've ignored...."

Jeremy smiled and laid beside her.

Melody smiled a little and closed her eyes "So many songs are writen about the rain..." she sighed 'But that song is my favorite."

Jeremy smiled up at the sky, and shut his eyes, crossing his hands over his chest so it looked like he was dead.

Melody watched the sky not moving an inch. She had a blank expression and her eyes were glazed over. She had a look of death. Only you could see her move as she breathed.

Jeremy opened his eyes. "They both were drinking. Dad was the least drunk. Sis wouldn't stop playing with her damn gameboy. She distracted him. He never saw the gas truck. When it hit...I was thrown out my door. Sis tried to climb out when it exploded. Her upper body landed in my lap."

Melody looked over at him "So thats what happened..." she said softly

"Part of the car blew off...Impaled me here." Jeremy said, taking his shirt off, revealing a long jagged scar. "I saw my mom. She was still alive...for about 30 seconds before the dumptruck rear ended the car, pushing it underneath the lover trailer, decapitating her.

Melody nodded and looked at the scar.

Jeremy took her hand and put it on his back as well. The scar was even bigger there.

Melody looked over his scars "Wow...Thes are realy bad..." she looked at him "It's amazing your still alive."

"I'm not sure if I am totally." Jeremy whispered, showing her a final scar, right across his jugular.

Melodys eyes widen as she looked at it. She was one of the students studying to be a doctor so she knew he was supose to be dead.

Jeremy nodded and hid that scar again.

"Wow..Jeremy...You shouldn't even be here...What saved you?" Melody asked shakeing her head to cler the thoughts that were jummbled up.

"My sister. Her shirt was still intact. I wrapped it around my neck. Thats the last thing I remember."

Melody nodded than sat up "Did the bell just ring?' she asked trying to hear over the rain.

"I don't care." Jeremy whispered.

Melody srugged "Nither do I."

Jeremy smiled a little, and shut his eyes. He started thinking his twisted thoughts.

Melody pulled a sketch pad out of her bag and started to sketch horrifying pictures.

Jeremy started chuckling.

Jeremy smiled as he slit Melody's wrists, holding her up by her ankles as the wolves howled and snapped at her arms.

Melody looked up at him "Jeremy, why are you doing that?!" she asked panicked and scared. She tryed to move but stoped watching the wolves. She started to cry watching the blood fall from her bleeding wrist.

"Why? Because the voices are telling me to. I love you, but they won't leave me be until they've had a sacrifice." Jeremy purred as a wolf jumped and grbbed her arm.

Melody cryed out in pain "Jeremy!" she tryed to knock the wolf off, but it was no good. Blood started to pour from her arm were the wolf had grabed her arm "Plesase...Jeremy, Please stop this."

Jeremy leaned down, and kissed her as the wolf pulled her arm off. "Goodbye Melody." He whispered, dropping her. He watched the wolves grab her. Arms legs, one even got her neck.

Melody gave one last scream before a wolf rips her neck out. Blood started to gush from her. The wolves start to tare into her.

Jeremy froze, and snapped. He dropped to the ground, breaking the wolves necks as he took her, touching her body. The wounds healed, and her arm reattached. It was something...something the crash did to him.

Melodys eyes remained closed as she started to breath again. Her eyes started to flicker open to see him. In suprise and shock she tryed to jump back and away.

Jeremy grabbed his chest, piercing it, as he pulled a duplicate out of himself. He was dressed all in black, had black eyes and hair. "So, you want to leave me? I don't think so. I'll kill you, and take the body for my own." He hissed darkly.

Melody backed up a little "No...I wouldn't leave you...You just scared me is all..." She said as she stopped walking backwards. She looked at him still a little scared.

The other Jeremy, the one holding her, was clad in white. "He's talking to me hun." He whispered, stabbing the evil one with a spear of pure light.

Melody nodded "My mistake than..." she said quietly.

Jeremy shook his head, shaking the though out of his head before looking at her drawing.

Melody looked over at him "You alright?" she asked. The drawing was almost like the scene were he was holding he above the wolves. Only the person holding the girl wasn't him and the girl didn't look like her.

Jeremy blanched. "That...is scary. What you drew...was exactly what I was thinking."

Melody blinked 'Really...I drew this while I was zooned out...."

"This...was me." Jermey said, pointing to the boy. "And this you. Only...I saved you, and you released me from evil."

Melody loked at him "I...I did?" She fliped it to the page before 'Did it look like this?" she asked. Again it looks alomst like it did in his thought.

Jeremy nodded slowly.

Melody blushed more and kissed him back softly. Her glasses had fallen off, but didn't brake.

Jeremy smiled and took her to his car.

Jeremy smiled and drove her to the spot where it happened.

Melody looked around "Is this were it happened?" she asked looking over at him.

"Yes. Your the first person I brought here. Probably the last."

Melody nodded and looked back out the window. She shivered a little and looked back in the car.

Jeremy parked on the side, and got out, touching a skid mark on the road. "This is where the car was."

Melody got out with him. She nodded and walked over to him.

Jeremy moved into the bushes, and picked three things up. A neckless, and two wedding rings.

Melody tilted her head "Your parents?" she asked watching him.

Jeremy nodded, and put the neckless around her neck.

Melody looked at the neccklace. It was pritty, she smiled a little at it. She looked up at him "Jeremy..."

"Yes?" He asked softly, smiling.

"Can I tell you something.." Melody said looking at him.

Jeremy nodded slowly and smiled.

Melody looked at the ground "It's about my brother..." she said softly "He...He's not a nice person to me see." she moved her hair and showed him a scar on her back "I feel I can trust you with telling you that..."

"Take me to him." Jeremy whispered in her ear, making a tight fist with his left hand.

Melody nodded "We live just up the roud....about a mile or so..."

Jeremy opened her door, got in, and drove to her place. When he got there, he went to the trunk, took out a desert eagle, which he wouldn't use unless necesary, and a baseball bat.

Melody got out and looked at Jeremy "What are you going to do?"

After she asked that a man about six foot tall walked out of the house 'I thought you were at school!" Melody turned around "Zane I..." she ducked as he threw a beer can over her head.

Jeremy walked up to him, and bashed his left knee out with the bat. "You need to show her some respect you incolent curr." He spat as Zane crumpled. "The bigger they are, the harder they fall dork stick."

Zane fell holding his knee "You little bastered..." he picked up a small ston and hurled it at Jeremys head, it missed and knocked off melodys glasses brakeing them.

Jeremy growled darkly as he took the gun out. "Give me a reason not to put a bullet in your head." He growled, putting the barrel of the gun right at Zane's temple.

"I'm the last bit of family that girl has." Zane said smirking as Melody wimpered, she held the bridge of her nose that was bleeding for were the stone had hit it.

"Ya? Well guess what. I love her, and in time, I will be the only family she will need." Jeremy growled.

Zane laughed "Love her? how could anyone love her, she just a waist of space."

Jeremy pulled the trigger without a second thought. Zane's skull turned into nothing more then a mess of bone, blood, and brain.

Melody hured gunfire and looked around, even though she couldn't see. She sighed "Jeremy...Can you help me find my glasses..."

"You don't want to see." Jeremy said softly, picking up her glasses.

Melody nodded "O...Okay.." she said softly "It's just I don't like not being able to see..."

"If you saw what had just happened...you'd probably puke."

Melody closed her eyes than nodded "Alright, than can we leave?"

"Yes. But is there anything you need to get from your room? Because before we leave...I will burn it down."

"Some clothes and my contacts..." Melody said walking twards the door.

Jeremy walked her in and helped her pack everything before spreading gas all over the house/

Melody took one last, blury, look at her house she smiled a little and turned her back on it.

Jeremy dropped a ligher on the ground, causing the trail to ignite. He walked her to the car, and helped her in as the place burned down, with Zane inside.

Melody took out her contact and put them in so she could see.

Jeremy smiled softly as the place burned down.

Melody smiled "Now I feel..Free." she said watching her house go up in flames.

"The only way to start a new, is to remove the ties that bind." Jermey whispered in her ear.

Melody smiled softly "Thank you Jeremy...For giveing me this new start." she whispered

Jeremy smiled and drove her to his home. Once there, he moved her into his sister's old room, and started thinking again. This time...it was dark and evil.

Jermey himself was pinned to a wall by spike in his arms and legs. One in his shoulder, a few in his chest and stomach. Each spike, was connected by a chain to a dead body. A voice echoed around him. "Remove the ties that bind you to your past and the dead. Or bleed to death from your inactivity."

Melody went over to him "Jeremy?" she asked already trying to pull out a spike.

Jeremy cried out softly. "Remove my ties. These ties that bind are killing me. My very soul, and my life."

((You'll laugh but, I cut my hand opening a water bottle...))

Melody nodded and took a few spikes out, still working on pulling them out.

Jeremy cried out in pain before he touched her hand, and helped her with a few.

((I was being stupid and didn't see that part of it was sticking out and was sharp.))

Melody kept pulling tam out "I'm sorry if it hurts Jeremy.." she said softly looking at him.

"It hurts, because it is my past." Jermey whispered as he put her hand on the one next to his heart. "Only my true love can remove this one."

Melody looked at it than back at him "Jeremy...I..I love you..." she said softly to him as she slowly started to pull out the spike.

Jeremy smiled, and shut his eyes in a look of happiness as he fell foreward slowly. "I love you to."

Melody pulled the spike out all the way, and smiled at him.

Jermey kissed her as the thought faded.

Jeremy sat up, and walked to her room. To see if she had tranced out...and drawn this.

Melody shook her head to snap out of the trance like state. She looked down at her drawing and than looked over at Jeremy.

Jeremy smiled and kissed her neck. "So...you drew it to." He whispered, seeing himself pinned to a wall. Zane's body, his families, and one more unidentified person were chained to him.

Melody bit her lip than nodded "yes...You thought this." she looked back at him and kissed his cheek.

"Yes." Jeremy said softly, holding her close.

Jeremy kissed her, and laid her gently on the bed, laying beside her.

The next morning Melody woke up and looked around. She almost forgot weer she was.

"Ya. But I called in sick, and they found your house with Zane last night. You won't be expected back for a week."

Melody nodded and rubbed her eyes "I need to take my contacts out.." she sighed and poped them out. She looked back over at him "What ever happend to my glasses?"
