Erik walked down the quiet streets, making sure everything was the way it was supposed to be. He had sent Cate to check on other parts of town and was now waiting for her to return.
"Everything's fine where I was,"Cate said, coming from between to buildings and falling in to stride with Erik.
"Very good,"he said as the two headed for home.

Sara chuckled, watching them from the shadows in wolf form. She howled, and barked a few times, signalling for the rest of the pack to come out. She trotted forward, leading them.

Dave's head snapped up and he followed her.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Apparently we have company,"Erik said, stopping as he heard the howl of another wolf. He turned to where he heard the noise, his body tense as he waited.

Cate turned around as well, kind of worried about who the other noise was.

Sara's pack moved out into the open. She gave an evil, wolfish smile as she saw the other wolves ahead.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"What business do you have here,"Erik called to the other pack.

[storm_angel]

Sara chuckled. "We are here to take over the city...As of now, it no longer belongs to you."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that and I am sorry to inform you that, this city will remain ours,"Erik said, as other members of his pack came out of the shadows around them.

[storm_angel]

Sara chuckled again and took a step forward.

Dave growled, his hackles rising.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"I suggest you take your leave,"Erik said, taking a step toward Sara.

Cate quickly changed into wolf form and growled menacingly at Dave.

[storm_angel]

Sara shrugged. "very well, we will leave for now...but don't doubt that we will come back...And I also think that by the time we get the city." SHe grinned. "There won't be much to take over."

Dave met eyes with Cate and placed his ears back, moving forwards again.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"We shall see,"Erik replied coldy.

Cate's eyes narrowed at Dave, taking a small step forward.

Sara growled and snapped at Dave. "NO!"

Dave glared at her, then stepped back and looked at Cate. "You're lucky girlie, or I would have torn you apart."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Cate...,"Erik said, nudging her with his leg.

"Oh, I'm pretty sure you are the lucky one in this situation pup,"Cate replied, stepping up next to Erik.

Dave growled again, his body rippled with anger.

Sara snapped at him again, snagging his shoulder. 'MOve and you're dead."

Dave whimpered, moving away and licking the blood trail on his arm.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

Cate smirked as she changed back into her human form.

Erik watched Sara and her pack apprehensively.

Sara glared at him. "We'll see you again." She barked once more and the wolves scattered. Dave ran off with her in the other direction.

"This is not good,"Erik said as the others went to what they were doing before.
"Do you think they're a serious threat,"Cate asked, as the two walked towards the home the pack shared.
"Could be,"he said, sighing as they walked.

A day later...

Sara laughed as more human screamed and ran and her pack bolted after them, killing them were they stood. A few bit humans laid behind her, changing slowly.

Dave came up to her. "The other pack is coming."
"Good." Sara said, smiling.

Eriks pack ran into the area where Sara's pack was. He growled loudly, his lips peeling back over his sharp teeth.
Cate watched as the bit humans changed and the other ones died.

Sara was still in human form. She saw him and her eyes flashed, she smiled. "Hello dogs. Told you we'd be back."

Dave saw Cate. He stalked towards her.

"As you did, but you will soon regret it,"Erik said.

Cate kept her eyes on Dave as he slinked toward her.

Sara laughed and her pack formed behind her. "Is that so?" She saw Dave and smiled. "Go ahead Dave, have fun."

Dave grinned and launched towards her.

Cate snarled and lunged when Dave did. She slashed quickly at his face with her claws.

Erik's own pack stood quietly behind him, all eyes on Sara. He looked back at the pack and nodded as each of them ran towards someone in Sara's pack.

Sara changed as her pack ran away from them, but they weren't retreating.

Dave dodged and moved under her, slashing at her stomcah.

"Proceed cautiously,"Erik warned his pack as he watched Sara.

Cate moved but he still caught the back of her leg. She howled then wirled around too face him.

Sara sat calmly watching him.

Dave chuckled and faced her again.

Erik took a few steps toward Sara, watching her with cold eyes.

Cate watched him before lunging in again.

Sara still watched him. She was sitting and her tail swished back and forth.

Dave sidestepped quickly, but didn't attack.

"Why did you pick this town to terrorize,"Erik asked calmly, slinking forward a bit more.

"Aren't you kind of small for a male werewolf,"Cate asked, tilting her head to the side as she watched him.

Sara growled. "Becuase...It used to be mine."

Dave growled, taking the bait and lunging at her again.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

Erik stopped, a puzzled look on his face. "What are you talking about,"he asked.

Cate doged easily as she brought her claw around to his side.

Sara barred her teeth. "You wouldn't remember..."

Dave howled and limped away, whimpering.

"Seriously, what are you talking about,"Erik asked, not letting go of the topic.

"Aww, did I hurt the poor baby,"Cate said, faking her concern.

Sara growled again. "When my old pack came here, this place was a dump. We fixed it up, we rebuilt this place, then I was cast out!" She spat out the words.

Dave growled at her again. "I'm not a baby, but I follow orders, you don't." His voice was barly audible.

"Why were you cast out,"Erik asked.

"I do too,"Cate said. She looked at Dave and started to feel bad for him. "Did I hurt you that bad,"she asked, walking a little closer to him.

Sara bristled. "That's none of your buisness!!"

Dave barked and jumped away, then limped away as quickly as he could.

"If my family before me did something wrong the it is my business,"Erik replied.

"Aw, c'mon it can't be that bad,"Cate said, following Dave.

Dave snapped at her. "I was wounded before this girl!"

Sara growled more. "Stupid humans, they think they know everything."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"I do have a name. It's Cate,"she said, then changed back into her human form. "Lemme see it,"she said, motioning to his leg.

"Can you please tell me why,"Erik asked.

[storm_angel]

Dave growled menecingly. "Don't. Touch. Me."

Sara glared at him. "Not in wolf form, and I'll call my pack off if you do the same."

"Deal,"Erik said before calling his pack. He changed into human form, smoothing his hair down.

"Just lemme see it,"Cate said, annoyed.

Sara called off her pack and changed.

Dave heard the call and was distracted for a moment. He looked away.

"So, what happened,"Erik asked, watching her.

Cate quickly knelt down and looked at Dave's leg.

[storm_angel]

Sara still glared at him. "A human found us out, he threatened to expose us...My pack was too scared to do what they had to, they were too scared to kill him. I did what they were too afraid to do."

Dave felt her and jumped away, shifting.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"And you were kicked out...,"Erik concluded, shaking his head. He knew that if that happened to him, he would do the same thing she did.

"Stop being such a baby and hold still,"Cate said, a little irritated.

Sara glared. "There, now you know."

Dave glared. "You will just hurt me more."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Is there a truce we could make so we could each live here peacefully,"Erik asked, rubbing the back of his head.

"I swear I won't,"Cate said seriously. "And you hurt me to,"she said, rolling up the leg of her capris and showing him a long scratch on her leg.

Sara glared. "NO!" She growled. "This city is mine."

Dave just glared.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

((IM BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!))

"I have offered a peace between are two groups and you are willing to sacrifice your own for having this city all to yourself,"Erik asked loudly.

"Are you gonna let me see it or not,"Cate asked glaring back at Dave.

Sara growled again, tensing. "Yes."

Dave faltered. "You're not gonna hurt me?"

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Why? Why come back to the town that cast you out long ago,"Erik questioned, his eyes narrowing.

"No. If you don't hurt me,"Cate said, watching him.

[storm_angel]

Sara hissed. "Becuase, I want revenge..."

Dave eyed her for a moment longer, then nodded slowly.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"The people that did that no longer live here. My pack and I forced them out,"Erik said.

"Just hold still,"Cate said kneeling next to him and examining his scratch. "It's not too deep,"she said, her fingers brushing over it gently.

Sara took a step forward. "Too bad. I still want it."

Dave shivered, his leg trembling. "Doesn't matter...it hurts." Dave was good with pain, he had had to deal with it for most of his life.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Can't have it,"Erik said, crossing his arms.

"Hmmm...,"Cate said, then rummaged around for something in her pocket. She pulled out a bandage roll and a small bottle of alcohol. "I'm the only one who can actually heal people correctly,"she explained unscrewing the lid on the bottle. "This is going to sting,"she said, pouring the liquid over his wound.

Dave hissed and growled low.

"I would rethink trying to take it from us,"Dave replied.

Cate worked quickly, wrapping the bandage around his leg then tying it tightly so it would stay. "There, all done,"she said, leaning back on her heels.

Dave morphed and bolted, running quickly away towards Sara and Dave.

Sara hissed and morphed quickly.

Erik morphed himself as his pack came and stood beside him.

Cate morphed and ran to her spot next to Erik, glancing over at Dave.

Dave stood next to Sara, hackles raised at Dave.

Sara growled and barked, her pack stood next to her, morphed.

Erik and Cate both watched the other pack with hard eyes. Cate now instantly regretted her decision to fix Dave's leg but she knew that it hadn't fully healed yet.

Sara took a step forward.

Dave glanced at her, then stood in front of her.

Erik was suprised by this just as much as the rest of his pack was.

Cate watched to see if Erik would advance and we he didn't she looked at Dave.

Sara growled. "Dave, get out of the way."

Dave shook his head.

Sara launched herself at him.

Cate launched herself into Sara's side to keep her from getting to Dave.

"Cate,"Erik exclaimed, very suprised.

Dave stepped aside, and was almost as suprised as Erik.

Sara snarled, her pack converged towards them.

Eriks pack moved to help Cate, but he held them back.

"This is stupid Sara, and you know it,"Cate said angrily.

[storm_angel]

Sara growled agian. "And why pup, is it stupid? No one defies me." She glared over her shoulder at Dave.

Dave stepped forward. "Cate, don't get involved."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Because you have a chance to avoid losing members of your pack and injury like Erik offered, but you chose to avoid it,"Cate said, ignoring Dave's comment.

"She's right Sara,"Erik agreed.

[storm_angel]

Sara growled. "I'll kill you all..." She glared at them, then ran offf. "Dave! Come!"

Dave tightened his muscles, but glanced swiftly at Cate, then ran off behind her with the rest of the pack.

Cate watched them go, hoping Dave didn't get into too much trouble.

"C'mon Cate,"Erik called as he and the pack left.
She quickly turned and followed along behind him, worried about what Sara might do next.

THree days later, Sara and her pack moved out in the middle of the night. THe met in the center square, Dave was not with them.

Erik had requested that Cate quickly look around town for any trouble.

Cate headed out in her human form, her eyes scanning every shadow for any sign of the others.

Sara spread out with her pack, each group of two taking an alley or street.

Cate immediately caught the scent of the other pack. She sighed angrily and quickly headed back to tell Erik.

[storm_angel]

Sara looked for Erik's scent. She headed after Cate, though she didn't know it.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

Cate hurried quickly back to Erik and the pack as she heard footsteps heading toward her.

[storm_angel]

Sara trotted calmly behind Cate. She stopped at the edge of their camp.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

Cate ducked into a nearby alley as she heard the footsteps stop. She leaned against the wall, listening closely for any approaching sounds.

Sara hesitated, then kept going. She walked warly, but cautiously into their camp.

Cate heard Sara and knew where she was headed. The alley she was in lead to their camp luckily. She quickly ran back to alert Erik.

"What is it Cate,"Erik asked as Cate came running up.
"Sara's here, in the camp,"she replied, coming to a stop.

Sara kept trotting forward. She didn't look at the people/wolves that she passed. She wanted to talk to Erik.

Erik heard Sara's approach and waited patiently for her to come into view.

Cate stood beside Erik, a little nervous about Sara being here.

When sara saw them fully she stoppd. She sat down and smiled pleasently.

"What're you doing here,"Erik asked, watching her.

Cate looked over at Sara wondering where Dave was right now.

[storm_angel]

Sara sighed. "I thought about it...and I want to take up your offer. I over reacted yesterday and I thought we could come to a comprimise."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"This is unexpected and very sudden. How do I know I can trust you,"Erik said apprehensively.

[storm_angel]

Sara huffed. "I came up here with no pack, no one besides myself...."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"She did follow me here alone,"Cate said, coming to stand next to Erik.

"Well, how should we organize this truce,"Erik asked.

[storm_angel]

Sara shrugged. "Any way, but may I call in my pack? They are getting anxious."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Certainly. If they even attempt to mess with anyone in my pack though, this whole deal is off,"Erik said, still a little nervous about this whole deal.

[storm_angel]

Sara nodded. "Of course." She called her pack in and the fomated behind her. Dave was not with them.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Now then, for the treaty, what terms are we negotiating,"Erik asked.

Cate scanned the pack for Dave but never saw him to her dismay.

[storm_angel]

Sara nodded. "well, peace between us first, we can each share the boundries. I wouldn't mind if we had different camps though, I tend to have a roudy pack."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"That's basically what I had in mind. And how should we seal this deal,"Erik questioned, a little relieved that none of her demands were to extreme.

[storm_angel]

Sara smiled. "I was hoping you would have an idea."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"There's always the traditional blood oath,"Erik replied.

[storm_angel]

Sara smiled and nodded. "Yes. There is...."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Or we could just shake on it,"Erik said shrugging.

[storm_angel]

Sara laughed a little. "Fine with me...Oh, but I must say, My pack has gotten a little smaller."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"How many are gone,"Erik asked, not really noticing a difference in her numbers.

Cate's stomach dropped at Sara's words, her mind immediately going to Dave.

Sara shook her head. "Just one, but I counted him as two."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"I'm sorry that they couldn't be here. And the whole shake on it thing would be easier if you were in human form,"Erik said.

"Excuse me for a moment,"Cate said, quickly disappearing out of the camp. She felt horrible for Dave's disappearance. It probably wouldn't have happened if she hadn't helped him.

Sara laughed and morphed. "Yes, a suppose it would." She watched Cate disappear.

Dave was non-moving and laying by the port.

"Don't worry about her. She's always a little testy,"Erik said, smiling apologetically.

Cate searched around town for Dave not knowing where he could be. She walked to the port since that was the last place to search and found him there. "Did she kick you out,"she asked, coming from behind him.

Dave gasped and scrambled to his feet. "Go away cate...Don't came anywhere near."

Sara smiled and nodded. "That's alright, I understand."

"I just came to apologize, for what I did,"Cate said quietly.

"So, truce then,"Erik said, sticking his hand out.

[storm_angel]

Dave shook his head. "You have nothing to apologize for...Please tell me Sara isn't trucing with you?"

Sara grinned and took his hand.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"She is. Why,"Cate asked, her stomach dropping at his words.

[storm_angel]

Dave hissed. He morphed, still managing to hide from cate and dashed towards the camp.

Cate morphed and quickly followed Dave back to camp, fearing what would happen when they arrived.

Dave howled and growled at the morphed Sara. He had long scratches down his muzzle and across his chest. Other gouages and cuts pepperd his side.

Sara grinned.

Erik was startled to see Dave and even more startled when Cate knocked him away from Sara.

Dave stepped towards Sara. "Don't. You. Dare."

"What're you doing Cate,"Erik asked.

Cate ignored him, watching Sara and Dave.

Sara laughed, coldly. "For goodness sakes, what happened to you? Get in a fight." She sneered at him.

Dave growled. "You would know! YOU DID THIS!!" He launched himself at her.

Cate watched with worried eyes as the two fight.

Erik watched the two fight, still a bit confused.

Sara eventually won. She held him down. "Stay." She ordered him. "You are still part of my pack."

dave whimpered and tried to wriggle free.

"What is the mea- Cate,"Erik exclaimed as Cate launched herself at Sara.

Sara growled and was pushed sideways. She snapped at her pack. "No! She's mine." SHe glared at Cate. "What? Are you upset about your little boyfriend?"

Cate ignored Sara's comment and just watched the other wolf with cold eyes.

Sara stopped smiling. She watched Cate with cold eyes as well.

Dave didn't move.

"What did you come here for Sara,"Erik asked, watching the two.

Sara snapped at Cate before answering. "To attack...and conquer."

Cate moved, barely missing Sara.

Sara growled, stepping closer.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

Cate waited for Sara to attack, watching her closely.

Sara feinged in one direction, then leaped and clamped onto Cate's shoulder.

Cate snarled and tried to shake Sara off her shoulder.

Sara planted her feet and used her jaw to throw Cate into the alley wall.

Cate hit the wall with a loud thud, her shoulder bleeding immensely.

Erik morphed and tackled Sara to the ground, pinning her there.

Sara growled and wriggled, acting more like an insane person than a wolf.

Dave limped over slowly to Cate. He licked her shoulder. "Cate....C'mon..."

"You will not hurt my pack any longer,"Erik growled, his dark eyes livid.

Cate struggled to get up but just slipped down to the ground again. "Now I know how bad your wounds probably hurt,"she said tiredly.

Sara screetched, wriggling and squirming.

Dave laid down with a 'huff'. "She puts poison on her claws."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Want should we do with you,"Erik thought aloud.

"Apparently so,"Cate said as her shoulder slowly healed.

Dave stayed down.

Sara growled. Her pack moved forward.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

Erik's pack surrounded him, blocking the two from view.

"Now I can't do anything to help,"Cate said, seeing Erik as she leaned against Dave.

[storm_angel]

Dave snorted. "You shouldn't have run after me..."

Sara whimpered and whined, calming down.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"I'm glad I did though,"Cate replied.

"Much better. What did you come here planning to do,"Erik asked.

[storm_angel]

Sara sighed. "I want the city back...It's too calm..Too civilized. What about the bad kids? The ones you bite to teach them true pain and suffering."

Dave sighed and smiled. "I'm glad you did too."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"The town being civil is how we keep order. Without it everything would be chaos. And those kids need that to see what they're doing is wrong,"Erik answered.


Cate grinned back before morphing back into human form. She looked at her shoulder seeing it was better but still sensitive.

Sara glared at him. "You don't understand! You're too young and dumb!"

Dave glanced over at the group.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"How would you know how old and how smart I am,"Erik questioned angrily.

Cate said up, stretching a bit as she watched the others.

dave tried to morph.

Sara just tried to wriggle out of his grip again.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Exactly, you don't know and your not getting away easily,"Erik said.

[storm_angel]

Sara morphed and stayed on the ground as a human.

"Call your pack off,"Erik demanded, staying in his same form.

Sara looked down defeated. She yelled out in a strange launguage and the wolves backed off.

"Further, I don't want to be able to see or smell them,"Erik said coldly.

Sara sighed. "Tell them yourself...They'll listen."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

Erik did so and watched them disappear. Once they were gone he let go of Sara but kept a close eye on her.

((Mm'kay.))

Sara didn't move.

Dave morphed finally, with a lot of effort, and stood up.

"You came here to trick me into trusting you correct,"Erik asked.

[storm_angel]

"Yes." Sara said, curtly.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"That's low even for someone like you,"Cate said, walking over to stand next to Erik.

[storm_angel]

Dave watched.

Sara growled, "You don't know who I am."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Just as you don't know who we are,"Erik said, looking at her with hard eyes.

[storm_angel]

Sara ignored him.

Dave walked forward. He moved steadily, but with extra effort.

"What're we going to do with her,"Cate asked Erik.

"I'm thinking,"he replied quietly.

[storm_angel]

Dave watched them, then looked at Sara.

"You can leave now Sara, but stay away from my pack,"Erik said, watching her.

[storm_angel]

Sara stood up and glared. "Yeah right." She bolted.

Dave sighed and stumbled, trying to stay concious.

"Dave are you okay,"Cate asked, rushing over to him, putting her arm under his.

Erik instructed two of his pack to keep guard of their encampment.

Dave tried to wave her off. "I'm fine..." He mumbled.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"You're obviously not. Erik can he stay here,"Cate asked, pulling him to her tent already.

"Certainly, if you trust him,"Erik replied before disappearing into his tent.

[storm_angel]

Dave grumbled. "There's nothing to worry about...I'm used to it." He still tried feebly to tell her nothing was wrong.

"You suck at lying,"Cate said, helping him to lie down on a mattress. The tent was rather large and had two beds in them along with a small plastic drawer.

Dave winced as he moved. "I do not...And I'm not lying."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"You can hardly stand,"Cate pointed out.

[storm_angel]

"So?" Dave said, not wanting her to fuss.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"So you obviously don't feel well. Now, what hurts exactly,"Cate asked.

[storm_angel]

"nothing." Dave siad, determined to be stubborn.

"Like I said, you suck at lying,"Cate said, grimacing.

((Mm'kay.))

Dave sighed. He closed his eyes. "I'm gonna be fine...Alright."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"You're so stubborn,"Cate said shaking her head.

[storm_angel]

Dave smiled. "Thank you." He coughed.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"If you don't mind my asking... what did she do to you after last night,"Cate asked.

[storm_angel]

Dave frowned. He looked away. "You know how before to make me stop attacking she snapped at me?"

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Yeah,"Cate replied, sitting down next to him.

[storm_angel]

Dave sighed. "That's how she keeps order, when I ran away and did stuff like that, I was breaking the rules...I'm sorta like...the right hand man. I do what she can't do or doesn't want to get her paws dirty for, so when I went against her she needed to teach me a lesson."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"I see,"Cate said, listening intently to what he was saying.

Dave forced a laugh. "Sara...well...she never was one for mercy...She asked to fight and I tried to run...bad idea, you don't run from Sara, not when she has a pack at her command. She'll kill you...and if she doesn't want to then she'll make it so that you wish you were dead." He sighed. "After fighting me she let the others drag me off to the beach."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"I'm so sorry. Erik's harsh in his punishments but not that harsh,"Cate said. "If there's anything I can do, just ask ok,"she said, looking over at him.

[storm_angel]

Dave smiled. "Not much you can do...But if I ever come back I'll ask if I need anything. Most likely I won't see you for a while though."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Then don't go back,"Cate suggested.

[storm_angel]

Dave sighed. "I won't...but I'll have to leave."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"She'll rip you apart if you do,"Cate said.

[storm_angel]

Dave looked at her. "I won't go back to her...I need to find out where she is going though...and I have to keep her from getting a bigger pack."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Then I'll go with you. It's too dangerous by yourself,"Cate said.

[storm_angel]

"No." Dave shook his head. "No, cate. You have a family here, you have a pack."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"I'll be back soon enough. And Erik wouldn't mind. He'd want to know what she was planning,"Cate said shrugging.

[storm_angel]

Dave sighed. "Cate...I don't know what will happen..."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"I'm going with you and that's that,"Cate said, crossing her arms.

[storm_angel]

Dave smiled. "Now who's stubborn?"

[MuchoMachoMachine]

Cate nudged him playfully in the side. "We're going to need food and things to take on our little trip,"she said, pulling a backpack from her plastic drawer.

[storm_angel]

Dave smiled. "yeah...But we'll go tommorrow, I need to rest right now."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"I'll get you a blanket,"Cate said, crawling over to her drawer and pulling a black, fuzzy blanket out. "Sleep well,"she said, tossing it to him before getting into the bed next to his.

dave smiled. He pulled the blanket over him and turned over on his side.

"What time should we leave tomorrow,"Cate asked as she switched of the battery powered lantern hanging behind her.

"Um.." Dave opened his eyes. "About noon, that's when she'll leave."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Ok. Goodnight Dave,"Cate said, rolling onto her stomach.

Dave smiled. "Bye Cate." He whispered.

((Time skippage to the morning.))

Cate woke up, the sun filtering through her tent flap. She rolled onto her back, looking up at the ceiling of her tent before glancing over at Dave to see if he was awake yet.

Dave had tried to sneak out during the night. The blanket was thrown back, but slightly bloody paw prints started at the tent entrance.

"Seriously,"Cate said, sighing angrily as she bolted out of bed. She followed the bloody prints to where Dave was. "I can't believe you,"she said exasperated when she found him.

Dave flinched, then turned to look at her like a puppy who had been caught doing something wrong.

"Don't you look at me like that,"Cate said angrily, coming to stand in front of him.

[storm_angel]

dave whined, he gave her puppy eyes.

"Not fair. I'm a girl so of course that's going to work,"Cate said, patting him on the head.

Dave hid a smile. "I'm sorry...I just don't want you to get hurt."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Give me a little more credit. I'm tougher than I look,"Cate said, hands on her hips.

[storm_angel]

Dave sighed, hanging his head. "I know...I just couldn't stand to see you hurt..."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Don't worry. I'll be fine,"Cate said, kneeling in front of him, holding his face in her hands.

[storm_angel]

Dave watched her with sad eyes. "Alright, we got some packing we need to do then."

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Yes we do,"Cate said standing and motioning for him to lead back to camp.

[storm_angel]

Dave trotted back, smiling. He was sorta happy now.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"So, we're going to need food, shelter, and water. Possibly some extra clothes and also soap,"Cate said as they entered camp.

[storm_angel]

"Why soap?" Dave asked.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

"Do you think I want to smell bad the whole time,"Cate said, heading to her tent.

[storm_angel]

Dave chuckled. He followed her.

[MuchoMachoMachine]

Cate grabbed her backpack and started stuffing it with canned foods, water bottles, and soap. She grabbed two sleeping bags, throwing one to Dave before heading out to tell Erik.

Dave did a neat tying thing where he attached the backpack to a sleeping bag and making loops for arms.

"Nice,"Cate commented, seeing Erik near his tent. "Erik, Dave and I are going to follow Sara to see what she's planning,"she told him.

"I was actually going to ask if you were. Well, good luck to both of you and stay safe. I have to go and talk to the pack about everything,"Erik said, clasping her on the shoulder before leaving.

dave Watched them. "He seems to care about you."

"I know. He's practically my brother. Well, we should probably get going,"Cate said, turning to face him.

[storm_angel]

Dave nodded. He threw her the free sleeping bag.

Cate caught it easily, snapping it on to her pack. "Lead the way,"she said, smiling at him.

Dave smiled and started out.

"Do you know where we're going,"Cate asked.

[storm_angel]

Dave shook his head. "We're just following their scent for now."

"Ok. Does she follow a certain path at all,"Cate asked.

[storm_angel]

Dave shook his head. "Sara's a bolt at first sight person. She isn't a coward, but if it's hard and not what she wants, she bolts...." He thought about it. "She might go back to a city in colorado."
