Tanner yawned as he walked into the small cafe he got coffee from every morning. It was right across from his apartment building.

John walked up to this little cafe for his first day on the job. He had just moved into a little apartment down the road.

Tanner got what he always got, then sat down in the corner to read his paper.

[priestess94]

John walked in and sighed as he walked to the managers door.

[broken inside]

Tanner took a sip of his coffee as he read.

The manager opened the door, "Come in" he said as John walked in and sat down in a chair. The manager looked at him "So you will be a cashier full time and part time mixer" He said sitting down across from John. "Uh...okay" John replied. "Claire will teach you how to mix and you told me you know how to work a register. So we are done here, Claire is behind the counter already so Goodbye and good luck" the manager said ending their meeting. John sighed and went out to the counter and learned how to mix, Claire gave him a couple pages of recipes to memorize that night. John walked to the register and began his first day.

Tanner looked over noticing there was a new guy.

John opened the register and noticed the money wasnt placed properly. So he started fixing it.

When John was done he looked at the recipe list.

Tanner finnish his coffee and got up. He walked out and ascross the street back to his apartments.

John set down the paper and stared at the register,waiting for the day to end.

He changed and got ready for work.

John leaned against the register staring at the menu.

Tanner walked back into the Cafe and over to the register.

John punched it in then told him what he owed then looked at claire "well go ahead" she said, John sighed and looked at the stuff infront of him..... "okay" he said as he would pick stuff up and look at claire.... then he started to make it..... when he was done he sighed, claire looked at him "dont worry you will get it" she said as he bought it to him. "here you go enjoy"

Tanner smiled and paid for it, "Thanks." He said walking out and off to work. It was a nice day so he decide he didn't need to drive.

John slumped against the register and looked at the recipe list again....then at the items lining the counter

Tanner walked into his office and got to work.

After work Tanner walked back home. He decide to get another coffee and walked into the cafe.

John looked at him then went and made it....this time he knew what to do... he came back "here you go"

Tanner put he money on the counter and took a sip, "good you got it right."

John glanced at him as he put the money in the register

Tanner turned around and walked over to a table sitting down.

John leaned against the counter and resumed his memorizing

Tanner watched him as He drank his coffee.

Tanner looked around a little. He took a few drinks of his coffee as he watched John.

John looked at the clock..it was...7:30 he had 30 minutes till he got off

"So how was your first day?" Tanner asked John.

John looked at him, "Okay...I guess as far as first days go" he replied

"How many ordered did you get wrong?" Tanner asked.

John glared at him for a while, "three" he answered.

"only three...and you shouldn't glare at customers. It's bad for business." Tanner scolded.

John glanced at the clock again...now he had 15 minutes

Tanner looked over at the clock as well. He sighed and looked out the window.

John went to go clean the coffee pots because they were closing soon.

Tanner got up, "Night Claire." He called to her as he walked out.

John cleaned the coffee pots then looked at the clock again,10 minutes. He went back to looking at the recipe list...

Tanner walked out and across the street to his apartment building.

claire walked up to him, "You did pretty good for your first day" She said smiling. "Thanks" John replied. 5 minutes left

Tanner laid down on his bed and stared at the ceiling. He was never going to sleep after so much coffee.

John waited out the last 5 minutes then clocked out and started walking to his apartment

Tanner closed his eyes and sighed he was tired but couldn't sleep it was the worst.

John walked up the stairs to the 5th floor.When he got there he walked down the hall to his door unlocked it and went in,fed his cat then went to bed.

John got up and put some bread in the toaster and went to take a shower. When he was done he got out and got dressed, eat his toast, fed his cat then went to work.

Tanner walked out of his apartment building and across the street to the cafe.

John walked down the street and into the cafe, He clocked in and said hi to claire then went to the register.

Tanner walked over to the register and looked around a little.

John watched him,"may I help you?" he asked

"Guess I should have known" John said going to make it.

"I guess if I continue to work here I will become a master at making them" John said coming back with the coffee.

John looked at him, then put the money in the register.

Tanner took a drink of his coffee and walked over to a table and sat down.

Claire walked up to John and asked him to go get something from the back.

Tanner watched the two of them as he drank his coffee.

John went to the back and got it then came back and handed it to Claire. She thanked him and he went back to the register.

Tanner finished his coffee and got up. He walked over to the register.

Tanner sat down at and rested his head on the counter, "I need another one..." He whined.

John sighed and went to go make him another one,"When you die from caffine over load, I am not going to be held responsable am I?" he asked, "and i am not going to your funeral" he added

"Will you come get ice cream with me?" Tanner asked randomly. He did weird things when he didn't have enough caffeine.

John looked at him,"uh......I can't,I get a break at 1 though" John replied

"I don't think I can wait that long..." Tanner complained, "Maybe if I drink a lot of coffee I can last..."

John sighed then went and made another one. He came back and set it infront of him.

Tanner paid for it and took a long drink.

John watched him as he put the money in the register.

Tanner sat up straight and looked around a little.

"Better?" John asked looking up at him.

Tanner nodded, "yep." He said smiling.

"How do you drink so much coffee?" John asked

Tanner shrugged, "I have no idea.."

Another guy walked up to the register, John looked at him "How may I help you?" He asked. The guy looked at him "Just a medium cup of coffee" The guy replied, "No suger,milk." John asked. "Nope,just black" The guy replied. John nodded and went to go get it. He came back and set it on the counter. "That will be $2.00" John said. The guy paid him then took his cup and left.

Tanner drank his coffee and watched, "yuck who drinks black coffee..." He said wrinkling his nose.

"well he's just weird." Tanner said folding his arms.

"I am not weird." Tanner said sticking his tongue out at him.

"It's not my fault my mother let me drink coffee at a very young age." Tanner said glaring at him.

"I am not a caffeine addict." He whined then drank the last of his coffee, "I want another one...but i didn't bring enough money..."

Tanner just sat there staring at his empty coffee cup.

John leaned against the counter.

"I want ice cream." Tanner whined sniffling a little, "I want ice cream that taste like coffee.."

John looked at the clock "5 minutes" He said.

"I don't think I can wait that long." Tanner said sniffling.

"i think you'll hold up" John said putting his hand on his sholder.

"I'm going to die.." He said closing his eyes.

"Why not?" Tanner asked opening his eyes again.

"cause"John replied smiling "I wont know where it will be"

"what I didnt get the paper that day?" John replied.

"I'm sure someone would tell you." Tanner said folding his arms.

"now who do I know that knows you that would tell me" John said folding his arms. He looked at the clock "come on its my break,Lets go I cant take your whining any longer " John said coming out from behind the counter.

Tanner jumped up and and hugged him then sighed a little and let go, "Standing is so hard to do without any sugar..."

John rolled his eyes and walked out of the cafe.

John walked down the street to the nearby ice cream shop. He held the door open for the sniffling Tanner.

Tanner walked in and looked around a little. He walked over to the counter, "The usual!" He said smiling. He came here a lot.

Tanner paid for the ice cream and handed him his ice cream.

John took it and got a spoon, he handed one to Tanner. "I just realized I dont know your name...." he said.

Tanner laughed and took a bite of his ice cream.

John started eating his ice cream, "So.. name?" He asked

"Tanner." He said as he ate his ice cream quickly.

John nodded as he ate the last of his ice cream. (small cup very small...)

Tanner looked over at him, "wow that was fast..."

"yeah it is..." Tanner said looking at his own ice cream.

John looked at the clock, he had 20 minutes.

Tanner looked over at the clock as he ate his ice cream.

John sighed silently and rested his head on his hand.

Tanner finished his ice cream, "okay lets go back!"

John looked at him then got up,"Okay" he replied

Tanner got up and walked to the garbage, throughing his ice cream bowl away. He walked straight to the door, not waiting for John.

John threw away his cup then headed for the cafe.

Tanner followed him, looking around a little.

John walked into the cafe and grabbed his apron.

Tanner walked over the the counter and sat down, watching John.

John looked at him as he walked behind the counter. "What?" He asked

Tanner blinked a little, "Coffee... I need coffee..."

John looked at him then sighed, "Okay" he said as he went to make it.

Tanner sighed a little and sniffled, still staring at his empty coffee cup.

20 minutes later, cause the people were being difficult, John walked back to Tanner

Tanner had finished his coffee and was staring down at the empty cup.

John looked at the cup then at the counter

"So when do you get off?" tanner asked.

"4" John replied

Tanner nodded a little and sighed.

John started to fall asleep, his head resting the palm of his hand.

Tanner poked at his head, "your going to get in trouble." He said.

John sighed as more people walked up...

Tanner looked over at them and sighed.

John assisted them for about 20 minutes and then started to walked back to where Tanner was sitting and slipped on water. He cleaned it up and resumed his walking.

John looked at him "Yes when I am bored I enjoy slipping"

Tanner scowled and stuck his tongue out at him.

Some tall,blonde,guy walked in and walked to the register. John sighed and took his name tag off then he walked up to the register. "How may I help you" he asked, the guy looked at him "the (random coffee)" He replied. John nodded and made it for him. When he walked back the guy looked at him 'your kinda cute whats your name?" He asked paying for the coffee. John looked at Tanner then the guy, "Uh Tanner" John replied. "Well Tanner. Here's my number" the guy said leaving. John walked back to Tanner, ripping up the paper.

"You used my name!" Tanner said pouting. "Stupid little grrr." he grumbled.

"first on I could think of" John replied

"But still...It's my name...." Tanner rested his head on the counter.

"I'm sorry" John said patting his head

"You better make it up to me." He said looking up at him.

"I'll try" John replied

Tanner smiled slightly and nodded.

John looked at him, "so what kinda cat should I get?" He asked

"A bit fat fluffy one!" Tanner said smiling.

John laughed

"Don't laugh at me..." Tanner whined looking at the ground.

"I wasn't..."John replied "I was laughing at the fat fluffy cat idea" he added

"And it was my idea." He said folding his arms.

More people walked into the cafe......!..... So John went to assist them
