Sara walked home from school. She held her books to her chest.

David was listening to music and walking through the street. He had bandages covering one eye.

Sara tripped and her books went sprawling. She hurried to pick them up before someone noticed.

David saw a girl trip and drop her books. He went over to help her.

[storm_angel]

((Okay, we have to make this more interesting.))

Sara blushed when she saw the guy. "It's okay, I got it."

[haseo592]

((Don't worry. You can't rush it. It's just the beginning. Not even books start out interesting in the beginning.))

David took off the headset. "Here let me help."

((Yeah, *sigh* I guess...Sorry, I'm just tired.))

Sara blushed again and had most of them picked up, but some were still on the ground.

David picked those up and handed them to the girl.

Sara smiled timidly. "Thanks"

"Welcome." He said looking at her with one eye.

Sara looked quickly away so as not to stare at his eye patch.

David saw her turn away. "Don't worry it doesn't bother me if you stare at the eye patch."

Sara blushed, she had tried to not be noticable. "Sorry." She mumbled.

"It's ok. I'm used to it."

Sara scuffed her feet. She didn't like being rude to people. She looked up though, but looked at his good eye. "So..." She looked around. "You new here?"

"Yeah I am." he said smiling.

Sara smiled as well. She stuck out her hand. "My name's Sara."

[haseo592]

David took her hand and shook it. "I'm David."

[storm_angel]

Sara smiled again, more naturally. "Well, I live on 352. If you need anything you can just knock or something." He pulled her hand back.

"Ok. You know it really doesn't bother me if you look at the eye patch."

[storm_angel]

Sara sighed. "I know...But it's rude and I don't..." She stopped talking and looked away.

"The eye patch doesn't bother me. It's the white hair that gets me in trouble more than the eye patch."

[storm_angel]

Sara smiled. "I don't mind the hair...Or the eye patch."

[haseo592]

"Yeah but most people do. Especially when they find out the hair is it's natural color."

[storm_angel]

Sara shrugged. "My mom had white hair since she was 10...It doesn't bother me."

David was surprised by this. He thought he was the only one that had white hair.

Sara smiled at his expression. "Don't be suprised. She didn't mind either."

"I thought I was the only one with this." David said running his hand through his hair.

[storm_angel]

Sara shook her head. "Well...I guess you could be now."

[haseo592]

"Oh. I'm sorry."

[storm_angel]

Sara shrugged. "Not something that needs to be pitied..." She smiled. "You don't mind people looking at the patch, and I don't mind talking about my dead mom."

"I know. But still it's hard not to."

[storm_angel]

Sara sighed. "I know..." She smniled slightly again. "Well..I gotta go, but thanks..for the books."

"You're welcome. I better be heading home too." David said. Yeah right. What home? you don't have a home. He thought.

Sara smiled again. "I'll see you around?"

"Yeah you will." David said smiling. He then turned around and started walking putting the headset back on listening to music with a sad look on his face.

Sara crossed the street and looked around, then headed towards her house.

David just walked around town.

Sara did her homework quickly. She went upstairs to go to bed.

David found somewhere he could stay. He went into the cave and layed down and fell asleep.

Sara fell asleep after a while and forgot to set her alarm.

David changed into his wolf form and howled.

Sara jolted awke. She looked outside her window.

David ran through town.

[storm_angel]

Sara got up and pulled on some shorts.

[haseo592]

David didn't know where to run to. He wanted to stay here and see the girl again but he didn't want to be found out.

Sara changed ito her jogging stuff and slipped outside the house. She looked around.

David ran right by her house.

[storm_angel]

Sara saw him and sprinted after him. She wasn't as fast, but was still pretty fast.

David turned around and saw the girl. He didn't want her to see him like this.

Sara was starting to slow down. She eventually stopped and sat on the curb.

David still in wolf form looked confused. She was chasing him and then just sat down.

Sara jogged to stay fit, but even she could't keep up with a wolf who was born to run. She tried to calm her breathing down.

David stopped looking at her and started running again.

Sara looked after it and sighed. "Darnit..." She said breathlessly. She got up and started walking after it.

David stopped at a dead end not able to go anywhere.

Sara knew where it was going. She smiled and jogged after it, determined to stop it in it's tracks.

David didn't know what to do. He couldn't go the other way cause he was sure Sara would be there. He was stuck.

Sara saw it up ahead. "Hey!" SHe called out for a second, then shook her head. She started walking, nice and slow like to a stray dog. "Shh...Come 'ere...Come on...I'm not gonna hurt you..." She whistled a little and beckoned with her fingers.

David backed away into a wall, the bandage still covering one eye.

Sara noticed the bandage and something clicked. "Oh..my...god..." She swallowed and looked at him. "Your not a dog are you...or a wolf."

David was scared. She had figured it out.

Sara tried to calm herself down. She ended up sitting again. "Omigod..." She shook her head and looked at him. "Impossible..."

David walked up to her.

Sara froze. She didn't move. SHe just kept one eye level with his uncovered eye. The other stared at the patch.

David looked at her with his one purple eye.

[storm_angel]

Sara hesitated, then pushed forward with her trembling hand to touch the bandage.

[haseo592]

David backed away.

[storm_angel]

"Wiat..." Sara whispered. "I'm not gonna hurt you..okay?" She just kept eye contact with him. "Wiat..please..."

David went back towards her. One eye was purple and the other was blue. The blue one was the one he always kept covered.

Sara went to her knees. She held both hands steady now and carefully took off the bandage. She smiled slightly. "See? That wasn't that bad..."

David whined.

Sara frowned. She thought about this for a moment, the panic had subsided, but now...now she was freaking out a little. She bit her lip.

David looked up at her with his purple and blue eyes. The sun came up and David changed human.

Sara blinked for a few seconds, then stood up. She shook her head. "too weird."

David looked up at her. "I'm sorry."

Sara looked at him. "What are you apologizing about?"

"You mean you're not scared?"

[storm_angel]

"I was..." sara pointed out. "But it was just shock."

[haseo592]

"My eyepatch! What did you do with it?"

[storm_angel]

Sara sighed. She looked down and picked it up, handing it to him. "You don't have to cover it up..."

(I have to go.)

David put on the eye patch. "But it's not normal for people to have a different eye color in each eye."

Sara shrugged. "So? WHo's normal, I bet people would think that it was cool."

"They don't. All the people I've been around either thought it was weird or made fun of me."

"I like it..." Sara mumbled, embaressed.

"Really?" David said looking up.

[storm_angel]

Sara looked away, still a little embaressed. "yeah..."

[haseo592]

"What about me changing into a wolf?" David said not noticing he was still on all fours.

Sara shrugged. "People are all weird in their different ways..."

"But that's beyond weird." David said still on all fours looking up at Sara.

Sara sighed. "Will you get up please?"

David looked down. "Oh sorry." He said getting up.

[storm_angel]

Sara took another deep breath. "Thank you." She said. She looked at him. "If I say it is just plain weird than it is just plain wierd. Okay?"

"Ok. You're not like other people. Other people scream and run when they see me change."

[storm_angel]

Sara smiled a little. "I don't really scream...It's not part of who I am."

[haseo592]

"But obviously you run."

[storm_angel]

Sara blushed slightly. "Yeah..."

[haseo592]

"You knew there was a dead end here didn't you? That's why you kept running after me."

[storm_angel]

Sara tried to keep an innocent look. 'No..."

[haseo592]

"Yes you did. All the others gave up cause I ran too fast for them. You're the only one who didn't."

[storm_angel]

Sara glared at the ground. "Fine...Ruin my fun..." She sighed. "Yeah...I know where the dead ends are becuase when I run in the mornings I have to know where I'm going."

"Why did you want to catch me?"

[storm_angel]

Sara shook her head. "I didn't want to catch you...I just...I just wanted to see what you were, a dog or a wolf or anything."

"Oh. I'm a wolf. Well sort of."

[storm_angel]

"A werewolf..." Sara noted. She shivered a little.

[haseo592]

"Yeah. I can control it usually, but last night I didn't have a choice."

[storm_angel]

Sara looked confused. "Why?"

[haseo592]

"Full moon. I can never control it on a full moon."

[storm_angel]

Sara looked at the sky. Sure enough there was the faint outline of a full moon. "Huh." She said. She hadn't even thought of that.

"Yeah. I don't like it one bit."

[storm_angel]

Sara nodded. She wouldn't like it either. "I'm sorry."

[haseo592]

"It's ok. Can I stay at your house?"

[storm_angel]

Sara blinked. "Sure...But you're gonna have to hide from my dad."

[haseo592]

"What? He don't like strangers?"

[storm_angel]

Sara blushed. "Not really..." She started back. "C'mon."

[haseo592]

"What about dogs?"

[storm_angel]

Sara blinked. "Wh...Omigosh.." She smiled and shook her head. "Either way."

"So I would have to hide no matter what?"

[storm_angel]

"Um...I don't think so...I guess you could go in dog form...but he's not really keen to animals."

[haseo592]

"Ok." David said changing.

Sara glanced at him and smirked.

David was now in his wolf form. He barked showing he was ready to go.

Sara laughed. "race you!" She said and sprinted off.

David ran alongside her.

[storm_angel]

Sara made it to her house in record time. She sat down on the porch. "Give me a minute." She said breathlessly.

David went over to her and sat down beside her wagging his tail.

Sara smiled. "Would you mind if I pet you?"

[haseo592]

David nodded his head no.

[storm_angel]

Sara smiled. "Good." She smoothed the hair on his head, petting more and more.

David smiled the best he could in his wolf form. Her petting him felt good.

Sara caught her breath. "Okay...Well let's head inside."

David got up and waited for her to open the door.

[storm_angel]

Sara took a breath and opened the door. "Dad? Dad you awake!?"

[haseo592]

David stayed outside waiting for an answer.

Sara talked to her dad, then called in David. She didn't use his name though.

David came in ears pinned back a little meaning he was a little nervous.

Sara stood next to an older man. His arm was around her waist and he regarded David. "he looks more like a wolf than a dog..."

Sara nodded, biting her lip nervously.

David's tail went down. He was scared he wouldn't be able to stay.

Sara cleared her throat. "But...Dad...He hasn't hurt me yet and we don't have to get him shots or anything..."

The guy just stared frowning at David. He tightened his arm around Sara possesivly when she tried to move away. "Dad..." She whispered. He let her go and sighed. "Fine. If it makes you happy."

David's ears and tail perked up. He went over and licked Sara's dad.

"Ugh." He cringed and moved him away. "Just don't make me touch him."

Sara bit his lip. "Sorry..." She whistled.

David went to Sara's side. He didn't mean to make her father angry.

Sara pet him then nodded her head towards her room. "C'mon." She siad and dashed upstairs.

David followed her upstairs.

Sara closed her door after David was inside. "Okay, you can change."

[haseo592]

David changed. "I didn't mean to make him angry. I was just trying to be nice."

[storm_angel]

"I know." sara sighed. "He's always like that, don't worry, it wasn't you." She patted the bed next to her.

David sat down beside her. "I don't think he's going to like me very much."

[storm_angel]

Sara forced a laugh. "He doesn't like me very much...don't worry, You'll be fine."

[haseo592]

"Ok. I'm surprised he didn't say anything about the eyepatch."

[storm_angel]

Sara giggled. "He was more worried about letting me go."

[haseo592]

David took the eyepatch off. "You really don't think it looks weird?"

[storm_angel]

Sara smiled. "No..I think they are pretty."

[haseo592]

David smiled. "Thanks."

[storm_angel]

Sara smiled back. "You're welcome..."

[haseo592]

"So where is your mother?"

[storm_angel]

Sara shrugged. "Some cemetary in Brooklyn."

[haseo592]

"Oh. I'm sorry."

[haseo592]

"Don't be." Sara said, smling.

"I don't have any parents."

[storm_angel]

Sara nodded. "so...You've just been living by yourself for ever?"

[haseo592]

"No not forever. They were shot and killed when I was 10 years old."

[storm_angel]

"oh..." Sara said softly. "I'm...sorry..."

[haseo592]

"It's ok. That's also why being a wolf can cause problems."

[storm_angel]

Sara looked at him confused. "How?"

[haseo592]

"Because we were passing through these people's farm trying to find somewhere to sleep and they came after us thinking we were trying to kill their animals. There was nothing we could do. It was a full moon out and we couldn't be human to tell them that we needed a place to stay. So we ran. The people came after us with guns and killed my parents. I had to keep running otherwise who knew what they'd do to a wolf puppy." David said trying to hold back tears.

Sara looked away, giving him a chance to cry if he needed to. "I see."

David refused to cry. "So what are you going to do if your dad comes barging in?"

[storm_angel]

Sara laughed. "He won't...He doesn't do that. He calls me when he wants me."

"Oh. Ok. I'm guessing he yells really loud."

[storm_angel]

Sara winced. "Yeah..." She looked away.

[haseo592]

"You ok?" David asked her concerned.

[storm_angel]

"I'm fine." Sara lied. She smiled and looked at him.

"You winced. That doesn't usually mean you are alright."

[storm_angel]

Sara shook her head. "I just pinched myself accidentally."

[haseo592]

"Oh." David said not really believing her.

[storm_angel]

Sara moved again and cleared her throat. "So..." She didn't know what to talk about anymore.

"So how do you feel about having a person in your house who can change into a wolf?"

[haseo592]

Sara laughed. "I find nothing wrong with it."

"I suppose your father will want you to get a collar and leash for me huh?"

Sara shook her head. "No...I don't think so....Most likely he'll hope that you run away."

"Like that's going to happen. Where am I going to run away to?" David asked sarcastically.

Sara smiled. "He think you're a dog remember?"

[haseo592]

"Yeah I know."

[storm_angel]

Sara smiled. "I'm sorry about that...But I doubt he would trust a boy anymore."

"No he'd probably kick me out for sure."

[storm_angel]

Sara nodded. She bit her lip. "So...Have you stayed with people before?"

[haseo592]

"Every now and then. But none of them has ever seen me change. They just thought I was a normal wolf."

[storm_angel]

"hm." Sara nodded. "So...Why'd you run through town?"

[haseo592]

"At first I was trying to get away from town as soon as possible. But then I wanted to see you again and after that I didn't know what to do."

[storm_angel]

Sara blushed slighlty. "Why'd you want to see me again?"

[haseo592]

"I don't know. You seemed nice and I wanted to get to know you better."

[storm_angel]

"Hm..." Sara nodded. "Well, I'm here and you're here...so get to know me better."

[haseo592]

"Well I know you're mom died. So has you're dad always been like the way he is now?"

[storm_angel]

Sara blushed and looked away. "No...He used to be happy..."

[haseo592]

"He changed when you're mom died didn't he?"

[storm_angel]

Sara shook her head. "No...He changed after that."

[haseo592]

"So what changed her?"

[storm_angel]

"Well...I don't really know...He was silent after my mom died...He didn't talk as much. I thought it was becuase he had no one to talk to...But then I started talking to him and he just got so angery..." She started to whisper now. "He started drinking and quit his job...We have enough money from my grandparants for him not to work, but my mom...She liked to work..." She sighed quietly.

"Oh. What do you think make him happy?"

Sara smiled. "My mother...She was great, always bubbly and happy."

"Unfortunately she isn't coming back." David said looking down.

[storm_angel]

Sara nodded. "yeah..." She sighed.

"So we'll have to find someone then."

[storm_angel]

Sara looked at him. "What do you mean?"

[haseo592]

"I mean help him find someone so he won't be so mad."

[storm_angel]

"Oh, no." Sara shook her head. "He would just be upset that I would try and get him into someone."

"Oh. Sorry." David said looking down.

[storm_angel]

"No, don't me." sara touched his arm lightly. "Don't be sorry, I'm just overreacting."

"Ok. So have you always been the way you are now?"

[storm_angel]

Sara blinked. "Which way am I now?"

[haseo592]

"So nice and so understanding."

[storm_angel]

Sara blushed. "oh...um...I don't know."

[haseo592]

"Sorry. I made you feel uncomfortable."

[storm_angel]

"No..." Sara smiled. "I just...I didn't know I was that way.."

David smiled and looked at her.

Sara glanced at him and smiled.

David changed into wolf form and licked her.

[storm_angel]

Sara eeked and pulled away. She giggled and smiled.

David wagged his tail.

Sara rolled her eyes. "Way to express yourself David."

[haseo592]

David changed back. "Isn't it?" David said laughing.

[storm_angel]

Sara rolled her eyes again, smiling.

David laughed.

Sara smiled at him. "So, do you want me to pull out a bed for you?"

"Yes please."

Sara nodded and stood up. She pulled a small cot out from under her bed.

David took off the headset completely and put them down along with a cd player and layed down on the bed.

(Yeah he was wearing at the beginning. He's had it on around his neck this whole time. I just didn't mention it. I forgot about it myself till now.)

Sara smiled. "I'm sorry I don't have anything more comfrotable."

"It's ok. It's better then sleeping in caves or on the ground." David said smiling.

Sara sat crosslegged on her bed. "So...what do you eat usually?"

[haseo592]

"Mostly what a wolf does. Sometimes a human if they attack. Of course I'll eat human stuff as well, but I haven't had any of that in a while."

[storm_angel]

Sara cringed. "You eat human?"

[haseo592]

"Only if they attack me first. If they just chase me I don't do anything except run. But backed into a corner and they attack me I attack back and eat them. Sorry if that bothers you."

[storm_angel]

Sara bit her lip. "It doesn't bother me..." She said quietly.

"Are you sure?" David asked concerned.

[storm_angel]

Sara looked at him. "Well...Yeah, a little, but not enough to make me throw you out or anything."

[haseo592]

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have mentioned it."

[storm_angel]

Sara looked confused. "No...of course not, I asked the dumb question anyway."

[haseo592]

David smiled. "At least you know I'm able to protect you."
