How can I meet a girl?

My situation for dating sucks.
I'm 14, and I like girls, but I live in a small town where being gay is like being a leper.
I'm also really shy, and the things I do don't really allow for much
flirting or anything.
I've tried internet dating, and I really don't want to do that again.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Mine is kind of far fetched, but, I`ll try.

Could try meeting someone in a town near you. When you couldn`t meet in person, could chat online. ^^'

That way you could meet a person in RL and keep it secret.

I really do meet a lot of people through swimming (the sport I do year-round) but it's hard to seem attractive in a super-tight suit, swim cap and goggles.

I'll try to talk to a girl next time I go shopping, though.

Well,at my high school we have a....club I suppose you could call it.It's for people who are and support those bi/gay/les.I'm personally bi,and in my school it's not that hard finding attractive guys who are gay/bi. ;3 Any who,do you have a club similar to this at your school?If not then here's another question: Do your friends know that you like girls? I know it's extremely hard to know if someone close to you is trust worthy enough to be given such fragile information.Back to the matter at hand: Do you know anyone who is gay/bi/lez? I know many people who are close friends,who if they're not gay,they know people who are gay.If you know someone who is gay/bi/les,whatever,ask them if they have any friends who are bi/les,you never know what could happen.

Well, my town's pretty small, so we don't have any club like that, sadly. (Lucky you!!!)
I've told one of my closest friends so far, but I'm planning on telling the other two of my best friends once school starts again. It'll be hard for me, because one of my best friends is the first girl I ever had a crush on (she doesn't know), and she's bi, but has a boyfriend she's been dating for almost a year. I only really know of two other lesbians in the school (they're together, but neither of them is my type anyways).
So that's my dilemna. I've never had a girlfriend before.

They're a year older and they don't like me at all. I really have no clue as to why, seeing as I've never spoken to them.
I'll ask my bi friend (though she's a myspace addict, so she'll probably try and get me with some online girl.) =] She's weird.
Where I live honestly doesn't leave a straight girl with many options, let alone lesbians.

:O You'd be suprised how many people are lesbians and bi and you never realized it.Especially if your town hates gay people. o-o Hmm.I say meet people from other towns and mabey get involved in other extra-curriculars that take you places like...if your swim team is only in your town try joining a travel team.
