Name: Dahlia Ashland Amaranth--and any nickname anyone decides to give her, though they always seem to fade after a few days.
Age: Just turned eighteen
Gender: Female
Gread: Searching for a nearby college to apply to
Bio: Dahlia had a rather normal life in her opinion, with the exception of a rape she experienced as a younger girl. It's made her slightly paranoid at times, and though they've recently gone into a recession of sorts, she is prone to panic attacks, usually before she falls asleep at night when her imagination likes to go wild with the dark. Other than that, she's a generally happy person--though can have mood swings--and doesn't really like to be alone. She just moved out of her father's place a state over for college (her mother died about a year before) and is looking forward to fixing up her new-old home.

She has long dark hair near black in color that she constantly debates over cutting it short or leaving it long, that she ultimately decides to think about later every single time with the exception of donating it to Locks of Love; usually it is up in some sort of ponytail or bun, and she has side bangs that often like to cover her left eye. It's currently a bit past shoulder length, longer whenever she decides to straighten it (which never lasts long, as it's naturally curly.) Dahlia's eyes are large, fringed with matching eyelashes and grey-blue irises that tend to switch colors, differentiating depending upon her clothing and mood of the day. Her style changes often, but most of the time she sticks to whatever she finds is relatively clean and comfortable--but that doesn't mean she can't dress up, too.

The room had been doement for a few centiruies nothign nothing could get in it was rather dusty it was pictch black as well so no one knew of the cotnest unless Light shined in.. it was so perfectly hid that no one had found it.

Dahlia tossed her suitcase--one of them, anyway--onto her newly delivered bed in her new house, a huge grin dancing upon her lips. "I think I'm turning Japanese; I think I'm turning Japanese; I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so~" she sang just as the song ended and changed to Katy Perry's new hit, making her laugh out loud. She'd been doing that a lot today.
The girl wiggled around giddily, throwing open the lid to her suitcase now. Upon her head sat a plastic tiara that glimmered and sparkled in the light, silver, and on her wrists danced a million different colored bracelets. Dahlia felt absolutely ridiculous--and exhilirated. She had a new home! A new town, a fresh start; perfect to begin college. It felt amazing.

Sighing happily, the teen joined in on the chorus gaily, laughing to herself while she semi unpacked some clothes. Her eyes were a bright blue-gray today, resultant of her happy mood. Dahlia hummed and turned to place some of her painting supplies in her new supply closet...

In the box sat a most prescious a gift a vampire, who were they no one knew well not untill the box woudl have been opoened. the room started to virbrate a bit sending a sligltly pulsing theought walls.

Dahlia didn't notice the vibrations, as she was much too absorbed in her air guitaring--a skill she'd perfected into an art--with one of her brushes, bobbing her head as she bounced to her closet, paints and other things tucked under one arm, brushes and and a multitude of pencils and papers under the other. Santana went into a wicked solo just as she opened the door--...

And she stopped, blinking. Suddenly her music and supplies were forgotten and, had her mp3 player not been tucked into her bra, it would have clattered onto the nearby shelf just as her load had. No, now her curiousity was piqued. Dahlia peered into the dark tunnel, squirming a little, unable to deny her brilliant smile. This had most certainly not been in the house description..
Oh well~ The teen bravely soldiered on with an old broom from the corner--lest she be attacked by any spiders (though inanimate objects were much more likely)--, humming as she made her way down a tunnel-esque passageway.

"Huh... Interesting," Dahlia murmured, looking around eagerly, trying to take it all in. Her voice echoed off the cold stone walls. "Yeah... This is totally worth exploring; I wonder if I can send Dad some pictures. He'd get a kick out of it too.." She spoke under her breath with a fond smile, remembering her father's explorer-like demeanor as she padded along. Though.. somehow she ended up in a large room.

"Wish I had a flashlight on me," the dark-haired girl stated bluntly, surprised as she glanced around. There was an odd box, propped up facing the entranceway on something... Wait. "Dude, is that a a casket?" Dahlia gasped as she pulled out an earbud, Paralyzer blaring much too loudly into the near empty space, eyes wide. "Ugh.. Did someone have a sick sense of humor???" Her nose crinkled a little and the tiara'd teen stepped forward slowly to check it out, not expecting it to begin creaking........

About that time, Candles starting lighting themselves, the casket started to open and inside laid a girl she was sress in all black, she woudltn' open her eyes till Dahila was close enough, she woudl also note the prcelin white skin and no bretheing. Once she had gotten close enough her eyes woudl opem, they were an icy blue, she blinked around and started to move.

Dahlia stopped in her tracks, frozen as suddenly candles began lighting from nothing, illuminating the room as if on command. And then the casket swung open; the sight elicited a tight eep from the startled teen as she jumped, eyes huge. "Oh-... Oh my God..!" she breathed in terror. There-.. There was a person inside?!

She no longer thought it a joke.


No, more like a bad horror flick.

Gulping, the grey-eyed girl staggered back a step when the body began to move, a scream hitching in her throat as its eyes opened to reveal bright, alert blue orbs the shade of cracked ice. "Ho-holy...!" The curse died on her lips as the eyes focused on her, paralyzing her (oh, the irony, she thought ridiculously to herself, thinking of her music) and a tremble rippled through her.

The girl stepped form the casket her body poped from not mvoing in so long asn she smield streching "And just who might you be?" she asked, she ahd no idea that DAhila had no idea that the room was there until just now, nor knowing about her being a vampire or an antyhing in that matter.

Dahlia paled further, her eyes seeming to encompass all of her face as she watched, frozen, as the girl stepped from the creaking casket with ease, though her ears could pick up the faint pops of joints protesting their disuse above her music.
Oh dear God. The girl was suddenly having difficulty breathing, holding her heart and stumbling back into the cobwebbed wall.

Was she having a panic attack? Surely Dahlia would have noted it before now, the pounding of her heart, the cold sweat trickling down her spine, a ghost trail of a finger. "I-..." Her throat seemed to constrict and cut off her flow of oxygen, making her unable to speak. "What.. .a-are you do-... doing-g... in my... house?" she managed in a breathless gasp.

Iris looked at her she took a step forward "Even a new born could hear your heart at the moment... you have no idea why I'm here?" she asked "The silver family serve me, you are of the silver family are you not?" she asked, she stretched a little bit more "What year is it?" she asked.She watched Dahila closely this human was rather scared her heart beat was loud, Her bretheing very unsteady, and she was plae.

Dahlia shook her head, trembling up and down, in answer to the first two, unable to breathe enough to answer the third just yet; newborn? What did she mean by that? How could she hear her heart, thundering away as it was in the frightened teen's ears? Her hand fisted in her shirt as panic seized her--the woman was stepping closer, and she couldn't move. Wasn't this the part where the heroine was supposed to narrowly escape?
She didn't see any movement from her feet any time soon.
The teen leaned harder against the wall, shakily gasping for air. "Tw-... Tw-two thou-...s-sand and ei-eight." Her voice was a pitiful mewl compared to the other woman's powerful tone, commanding and pulsating almost. Dahlia inwardly shuddered.
How would the casket-woman not know the year? Could she possibly be one of those freaky murderers, those creepy ones that were so screwed up that they thought they were from different eras? This woman didn't dress modernly, actually...
OhmyGodohmyGodohmyGod--I'm going to die, Dahlia thought in unadulterated terror.

"Two thousand eight" she said and took another step froward her icy hand woudl touch Dahilas cheek "Calm down... I won't kill you" she said "Killing isn't my style." she said and the closed her eyes "My, this is not good, it seems my servents forgot about me" she opened her eyes "My name is Iris, and I was in Hyberination from the first vampire war, My human servents were suppose to have taken care of me and made sure when I awoke they were here... But it seems they have failed me"

Dahlia froze as the back of Iris's--the woman's name--long, pallid hand caressed her pale cheek, eyes absolutely huge. Her heart skipped a beat, two beats, nearly three... She gulped a little, struggling to breathe properly. Her lungs didn't want to work. "The las-st owner... she di-....died. No child-dren..." was all that managed to make it from her whitened lips.
She couldn't bring herself to comment on the "vampire" topic.

Iris pulled her close "Look inot my eyes... and clam down..." she said it was more of a spell then anythign she didint' need the only human she had met sicne she went to sleep to die on her.

Dahlia inhaled sharply as suddenly she found herself stumbling forward, looking down in time to see the woman's icy grip locked upon her wrist and jerking her with ease before her terrified orbs flew back to the woman's face. And then she was talking.. and the teen couldn't look away, couldn't not listen. Her mind, it still protested as her wide eyes automatically found Iris's; it still inwardly shouted in outrage as her body somehow relaxed without her will, her heart rate slowing to something seminormal and her lungs beginning to contract and expand alternately. But Dahlia rebelled, screwing hereyes shut and furiously shaking her head, wrenching back--though it was impossible to get out of the iron grip.

Iris pushed her back inot the wall her body pressed agiansther "You must clam down young one.." she said "I give you my world I won't hurt you" she said "But if you do not calm down you could die" she said "Please calm down.."

Dahlia hissed and bucked as she was pinned against the wall without warning--not unkindly, but even so, she struggled futilely. Iris's words fell on deaf ears; the woman was holding her, tightly, tightly. It was too much. She didn't want to be here. It hurt, oh God it hurt. Dahlia's eyes were wide, and the darkened orbs shone with a thin film of wetness. This was too much like it. The stranger, too strong, too strong, and she.. so, so weak. She couldn't help herself, save herself from the pain, no the agony...

"NO!"

Iris wasn't inticpating it aand she jumped back in doing so she hit one fo the canldes and sh hissed form the flame burnign her. Flames were a threat to vampirea sn she screamed and hled her face, Her body trembleed as she stepped back again.

Dahlia stiffened and flinched at the unearthly scream, newly freed hands flying to clamp over her ears in a fruitless attempt to block out the eerie shriek. It invaded her head, bombarding her brain, bouncing off the walls of her skull in painful echoes. She cried out softly--it hurt. It hurt enough to make her knees weaken just long enough for her to sink to the ground, squeezing her eyes shut as tightly as she could manage, as if that might make the sound stop.

She closed her eyes she graoned, thoguh brethign was not nessasry she drew harred breathes from pain and she bent down and clawed into the floor, she moved back intot he wall and let out another scream she felt her body that was tired and thrist she felt it started to slip and she slid agasint the wall her eyes open and she fell slilent as the screamin entered her mind,

Dahlia shuddered and whimpered, leaning forward so much that her face almost touched the floor, agony displayed on her tightened features. She pushed her hands harder against her ears, harder, harder, fighting to get the wailing out--with no success. She vaguely felt the warm liquid trickle down between her palms and flesh, but didn't note it, too busy rocking. She swallowed harshly.
The screams had been so full of utter Power that her ears had bled.

It was probably a miracle that she could still see.

Iris blinked when she smelt blood thoguh.. her lust came back and she blinked again and she slwoly bade her way to the girl "Please... ston' be afraid" she whispered she licked the blood the was dripping donw, it woudl be surpising that her tounge and aliva was warm it was the only think warm about her so far.

Dahlia whimpered once more, her body stilling in automatic reaction to the footsteps, quiet as the whispering wind, neared her. She swallowed dryly again, tongue sandpaper in her mouth, as she opened her eyes to see someone crouch before her through the blurry haze of tears. And then there was speaking.. Iris bade her to do something, but she couldn't quiet make it out throught the ringing in her ears.


And then cold hands touched her wrists, tugging them downward so that the vermillion-stained palms faced upward as they rested in her lap. Dahlia gulped, trembling. She could feel cool breath, a winter's breeze, next to her flesh--though she dare not look. But then her eyes snapped open wide as something warm and wet laved at her flesh, trailing hotly up her skin. The girl's breath hitched in her throat and stopped, just for a moment, her eyes fluttering closed and a shudder traveling through her paralyzed frame as teeth grazed a sensitive spot on her neck.

Iris was hungry but, she woudltn' drink from her. not in her state she was afraid to send the girl inot shock so she held her close she rubbed her back "she had to heal the girls ears, she pulled back adn the fangs cut her porcilin white skin. Shebade no attion to this as she opened the girls mouth putting ht blood in she foriced her to drink, she she had the ringing woudl stop in they woudl ahve been healed "Pleae.. I do not know your name.. bu tI proimse I woudlnt' harm you plse.. just clam down"

Dahlia stared wide-eyed at the woman when she pulled back, gasping in surprise as Iris bit into her own hand--enough to draw blood. But then the woman was gripping her jaw in such a way that it opened without her will, and her hand was suddenly in her mouth. The young woman squirmed and exclaimed muffled protests, coughing and spluttering at the sudden invasion of her taste buds. Though the liquid was strangely.. sweet, with a hint of spice, it was still blood.
And it wasn't supposed to be in her mouth, coating her tongue, dribbling down her throat..
The girl jerked back when Iris finally let go of her, coughing futilely in attempts to get what blood that had made it down her esophagus out; it was of no use.
"C-calm down?!" Dahlia managed breathlessly, panting in ragged gasps. She tried to scoot back, but was trapped between the downright frightening woman and the wall once again. "You just screamed so loud my ears bled, licked up said blood, and then made me drink your blood, not to mention countless other things before that--and you expect me to calm down and tell you my name?!" Her voice rose an octave with hysteria, fury and confusion and fear mixing in her like a molotov c.ocktail, ready to explode at any moment as tears welled in her eyes again.

What do you expect when you screamed making me jump back and hit a candle" she said, The place on her face was burned badly "you know..fire is dangerous to me... too much of it will kill me..." she said and closed her eyes "Dahila" she said she smiled Your blood tastes good...but know this" she said as she moved in closer "I woudlnt' do that to you.. I have more honor then that" she said and clsoed her eyes.

Dahlia, just now seeing the burn, winced; remorse surged through her veins and she bit her lower lip. But of course, the moment the vampiress began speaking again--starting with her name--she immediately became defensive again. "Wh-what the--..." The teen pressed herself back against the wal as Iris leaned towards her with a closed-eyed smile, nails digging into her own palms. "How the h-hell do you know my name?!" And vampires don't exist, you wonky bat! she thought inwardly, confusion replacing the remorse.

Dahlia grit her teeth, locking her jaw tightly at her words; she was abruptly rather furious about the invasion of her privacy--of what was hers, what no one else was supposed to know. She looked away. "That can't be true," she muttered angrily. Why was this woman f.ucking with her? Who's sick sense of humor came up with this?? "Vampires are not real; you must have done research on me or something." She went to stand.

Dahlia stared at Iris in absolute horror, pale as a sheet of paper; suddenly she felt very small against the stones behind her. Every truth was like an utter slap in the face, especially those that almost no one knew. The ones she didn't want anyone to know. Trembling faintly once more, she watched the woman with fisted hands. "Psychic..." she uttered softly, (for she did believe in them, especially having been playfully accused by her family on a multitude of occasions of being one) struggling to come up with some other reason why...

"The teeth" she said, and when coudl Psychics read minds?" asked she then took DAhilas hand and put it where the heart woudl beat "No heart beat" she said "I'm as cold as death and my skin is as plae as porclin." She said shed smield.

"S-som-me psy-psychics-s can-n..." Dahlia stuttered, looking more gaunt and pale by the moment, all the blood draining from her face it seemed at the combination of touch, feel, and sight. Touch of no heart beat, feeling of icy flesh, and sight.. Well, sight of some wickedly sharp fangs.

Dahlia stifled a soft gasp as once again she found herself trapped against the stone, shuddering as Iris licked her neck. Electricity pumped into her veins like it very much shouldn't have. Her body was slowly but surely betraying her, heat flooding in certain places despite her mental protests, back arching a little. The girl struggled to calm her racing heart and panting breath, struggled to sternly say no.
But her lips weren't exactly working at the moment.

Iris did not wait for an asnwer she coudltn'not restit and long era her teeth woudl sink itn her neck, she woudl fell a bti fo pain but the numb, her pancing body woudl ahve calmded down and her mind woudl slowly down and feel.. happpy. Iris liked the taste of her blood it was perfec tit was sweet likey honey.

Dahlia hissed and bucked as suddenly the sensation of her fangs sinking into her flesh forced its way into her conscious thoughts, the pricking making her wince. But then something began to rush along in her panicking veins; it numbed the pain and caused... 'other' reactions in her, eliciting a soft moan to spill flowingly from her lips.
Despite her, it felt good.

Dahlia shivered, staring up at her with mixed emotions forming convoluted trails in her head, confusing her even more.
She'd not wanted her to stop.
But then her eyelids were drooping, her brows furrowing; when had she.. become sleepy so soon..? How.... She fought against the wave of exhaustion that began to fall over her like mist, her knees beginning to go weak again...

When Dahila would have finnaly fallen asleep, Iris then woudl have taken her back up to her room putting her in bed, the only thing that woudl be different about the girl woudl be a pendent that she had put on, she stayed in a corner and woudl watch Dahila sleep.

Dahlia sleep peacefully for about the first five moments, but soon began to toss and turn, frowning at her displeasure at was in her head. There were too many shadows, too many similar things... Her body ached.
Groaning softly the girl rolled, burying her face into her pillow and hugging her knees, squirming. A quiet noise akin to a whimper spilled out only to be muffled by the fabric in front of her.

Iris looked at her, she had not meant for it to be so similar to the rape. She went over and rubbed her head a bit "I'm sorry young one... I truely am" She wondered when she would wake she looked outside the sun would set in a few hours.

Dahlia at first flinched, cowering from the touch--until she found it different from the nightmare. Cooler, more soothing and calm; not rushed and angry, too warm. She immediately stilled and leaned into the caresses unconsciously, her body seeming to relax slightly.

She smiled a bit she kep her hand there to soothe the young girl, her own mind started to wonder this would was so much unlike the one she lived in so long ago.

Hours passed and Dahlia eventually woke, a mere ten minutes after the sun's rays had disappeared beneath the horizon. She squirmed uncomfortably and pulled herself ups, yawning and stretching, groaning softly as she tossed away the tiara she'd been wearing earlier, for it'd stabbed, poked and prodded her irritatingly as she slept, leaving some areas of her head tender. Glancing around groggily, she rubbed her eyes and began to stand unsteadily.
"...Some freaky-ass dreams.." the girl murmured under her breath.

"And waht kind of dreams are those?" she asked as she was standing in the door way now looking at her, she has looked around the house and had found the other secreat rooms that hled her belongings.

Dahlia literally eeped, jumping with a sharp gasp and wide eyes, spinning to face the door. Oh my God. "Y-you!" she exclaimed, one hand flying to her throat--choker?--where it felt at the leather and velvet strapped there, confusion splashing onto her features. Her 'dream' from before practically slapped her in the face and the girl looked down fruitlessly, trying to figure out just what happened to be around her neck.

"Calm down" she said Its' to tell you've been marked from other vampires.. so they dotn' decide to take a bite out of you.. because once your bitten by a vampire.. other will want yoru blood" she said "Espically since yorus is like honey"

"Wh-what??" Dahlia asked, whitening once more as she fingered the pendant, tempted to rip it off and run. In all honesty she was pretty fast and didn't normally fall on her face when it came to the important things... Still, her features flushed a bright red as the comparison of her blood.

"I would not' want anyone to hurt you" she said, "I owe you" she said "And in doing that In ways I have become yoru servent andyou have become mine"

Dahlia could only stare, now clutching at the elegant charm that dangled from the choker around her pale throat, speechless. But not for long. "Owe-... Owe me? How? And how the hell does that work out??"

"You awoke me form my slumber... I was suppose to have woken many many years eailer half a century reasily acutally or more" she said she shrugged" I dunno I iguess we'll have to think about that now shall we" she said "I made you some soup..."

Dahlia hugged her stomach at the mention of food; now that she was thinking about it, she was kind of hungry... And she chose not to comment further on anymore of this vampiric business, at least not for now. "What kind of soup..?" she asked slowly, a tinge suspicious. If the vampire really did know her past, then she would know that she had been a vegetarian, with the exception of eggs, milk, fish and marshmallows for the past three years...

"Its' an old soup I use to make wehn I was.. alive it's cream with different herbs in it" she said " I mean If you dont' want it you won't hurt my feelings" she asked yawning some.

"Oh..." Dahlia blinked in surprise, having not really considered anything like that. It actually sounded really rather good.. "OK.. Yeah, sure," she answered, though still a little wary.

She smiled and there was a bowl on the kitchen table "I hope you enjoy" she said "ANd it's not posined or anything" she said as she sat down. She had her eyes closed "Do you beleive I'm a vampire?"

Dahlia startled ever so faintly, looking around in confusion as she only now realized they had been walking down to the spartanly furnished kitchen, eyes wide. Well then..., she thought, disconcerted. Still, she sat hesitantly across from Iris at the threadbare table in one of the few sturdy chairs left, watching the other woman. The soup smelled delicious.
But she wouldn't take a bit of it; not yet.
"No," she answered quite simply, a little quieter than before. She couldn't remember the bite, exactly; the memory was much to fuzzy and convoluted to decipher.

Iris sighed" I diidnt' think so.. So I'll sow you after you eat" she said ash she looked at one of the old books taht was among her own belongings.

Dahlia frowned a little, her forhead creasing as she looked down to her steaming bowl. Her stomach growled desiringly--and finally, reluctantly, she gave in, picking up the spoon to take a bite. She shivered at the warmth--it was cooked to perfection--and the miniature explosions on her taste buds.
It was amazing.

"How do you like it?" she asked as she stopped she had another book in the other hand it was a moderen book and it seem to have Encylopdiea on the back.

Dahlia only coughed and shook her head, leaning away from her empty bowl as she struggled to put out the fire in her esophagus. That had been more than enough to fill her. "No t-thank you," she managed, clearing her throat, her breathing steadying once more.

Iris got up and got her a glass of ice cold water "Here... I'll put the soup up in the fridge so you can have it later" she said as she put the soup up she looked down at her hand and sighed ".

"Thank you," Dahlia answered quietly, hands folded neatly in her lap now as she subdued herself after the soup; she didn't touch the water--not thirsty enough. "What's wrong?" she inquired absently, staring at the ceiling, not rally sure why she asked; why she even cared.

Dahlia stiffened and sat up a little straighter in her seat, her frightened orbs flying to the woman's face. Her mouth went dry. "A... rampage?" It was a questioning statement, confused between the two, and she had to concentrate to not let her voice show her alarm at the subject.

Dahlia paled at the pleasant smile Iris held when she spoke of the community she'd murdered single-handedly, flinching a little when the woman seemed to read a little of what she'd been thinking. It'd not been in those exact terms, but still... But then her breathing hitched at the confession, her eyes widening in unashamed horror at the thought of the innocent little girl.... She swallowed with difficulty and forced herself to look away, to stare at the floor.
She wasn't one to judge..
..and Iris at least seemed to feel remorse for her.. well, one action.

Dahlia just lay on the floor, inwardly cringing at the effect the sudden collision against the floor had. There'd be a small handful of petty bruises, she knew, and the girl was rather certain she'd have an irritating splinter or two as well. But at the moment, she was more recovering from the soreness enacted now from the hard, wooden flooring. Reluctantly the teen held out her hand without opening her eyes. "Yeeesss..." She half groaned.

The teen flushed faintly, absently hugging her stomach in embarrassment at the compliment. However, the blush faded as the woman revealed her non-concrete plans for the night; Dahlia nodded a little and shifted, biting absently at her lower lip. "OK.." Oddly enough, though she knew she should be glad that the self-proclaimed vampire was going out, giving her chance to escape and report her to the looney bin she probably escaped from, she wasn't. In fact, she didn't even really want her to go out at all.
But Dahlia didn't want to think of the implications of that desire right now. "Oh, well, if you're going 'out', then I suppose I'll just go take my shower.. I'll see you later, I guess. Thanks for the help," the girl murmured quietly, offhandedly, not meeting her eyes before she turned and headed for the hall and her new bedroom--essentially her personal bathroom as well. She'd just clean up the remnants of the chair later or something....

She then left, she walked the streets she recognized some of the vampires acutally and then there were lots of new ones. she was so lost with evverythign she sat outside a building looking up her head hurt.. and bad.

Dahlia undressed slowly, taking her time as she turned on her radio and distractedly hummed along softly to it, running a bath instead. It was a spontaneous decision--but damnit, she wanted to soak. Once stripped the dark-haired girl padded over to the tub and stepped in, one leg at a time, before sinking slowly down into the steaming water with a shudder. She dunked herself with a wince.

Dahlia flinched as suddenly a dark feeling passed over her--for no reason at all. Shivering she shook it off. There was no reason to be worried, to feel like this. She had no 'sixth sense'. There wasn't any reason, any at all, that she should feel like this.
"I will enjoy this bath; I will enjoy this bath.." the teen muttered quietly, commanding herself over and over under her breath before sinking down again for another dunk.

Dahlia abruptly shuddered, snapping out of her zoning state with a sharp gasp, hugging her torso tightly. Her blue gray orbs stared out at the newly materialized wall--one that had not been there for the past.... two hours?! The teen groaned and slapped her forhead (with a wince, of course), scolding herself darkly for doing that The water was already freezing! Dahlia scowled and muttered angrily at her behavior under her breath as she stepped out with a shiver, wrapping a thick, fuzzy towel around her trembling body before unplugging the bathtub. Still, the memory of red.. Just red haunted her inner eye.

She swallowed and only shivered harder though--she wasn't used to such a large bed...

She was so... well, warm now. Her once marble skin had now transformed into heated, more comforting flesh, her scent much more vivid. Intoxicating.
How had she never realized how she smelled until now??

The girl shifted when the vampiress did, wiggling in closer so that practically everything touched--and her towel loosened considerably. Too bad she was already near sleep.

Suddenly, what had happened came crashing down on her. Her orbs widened and she inhaled sharply through her nose, stiffening, before suddenly slipping out of the room (she vaguely hoped she didn't wake Iris) and scampering to her bathroom, hurridly jumping in the shower.

"Iris!" The teen darted forward, jerking the candle away. "What are you doing?!" Fortunately the sploshing wax put out the flame immediately; unfortunately, it also splashed outward.
Right onto her hand. Dahlia inhaled sharply and flinched, dropping the heated glass with her eyes screwed shut; it shattered on impact with the floor.

She swallowed and winced as she reluctantly began to pick off the wax chucks, every few seconds flinching. She'd had worse, she supposed. "I-It's fine," she answered quietly, but she looked up at Iris with pained orbs. "What did you mean.. 'Burning the pain away?'" she questioned, confused.

"It's.. OK," she stated finally. "You don't have to do that. Just... Just don't get into my head anymore," she said uncomfortably. "Even I don't like to be there sometimes..." Then the girl thought a moment. "Wait... how does.. it hurt? That? I- Iwas going to apologize..." she said slowly, before suddenly, realization began to dawn...

Dahlia swallowed and hugged her neck, trying to look like she was relaxed. She failed utterly. "I... need to go.. shopping," she sniffled, wiping at her eyes furiously to get the tears away. The salty liquid and the movement made her hand burn in a reminder of her recklessnes earlier.

Dahlia flushed quietly and looked away, squirming a little. She had a bit of an idea. The girl's flush deepened at the kiss and she abashedly ducked her head, nodding a little. "Come with?" she answered, though it sounded much more like a question.

Dahlia really rather reluctantly pulled herself to her feet, off of the couch and away from Iris, not liking the new lack of warmth. "I'll be.. right bacl," she said, disappearing upstairs.

Dahlia returned less than two minutes later, fresh eyeliner on, wet hair pulled back in a neat ponytail, though the locks cascading to the middle of her back still in curly disarray. She honestly was considering cutting it all off; it would save her so much in shampoo and conditioner..
She smiled tentatively at Iris and slipped on her brown and white-checkered Vans over her blue and black-striped socks, though once on, you couldn't see anything but the white rubber of Dahlia's shoes from beneath her long, paint-splattered jeans. She slipped on an old Army jacket. "Ready?" the teen inquired quietly, hesitantly.
She really was unsure of what to do around Iris now.

Dahlia blushed an nodded, the memory of last night--which was still really hazy, and seemed just like a dream--blurry in her head; but she could vaguely remember being... bitten. She gulped and resisted the urge to feel her throat, suddenly feeling a little 'warm' at the thought. The young woman grabbed her keys and motioned for Iris to follow anyway. "C-C'mon, then.."

Dahlia paused, stopping beside it and turning to her, blinking. "Oh!" She understood only a second later and laughed a little. "It's not really silver--it's paint." They had paint in her time, right?

Dahlia rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, laughing a little. "No,.. No, umm, people in this time,... with a few exceptions,..don't really believe in,.. well, you. It's just a color some people like. This was actually my first car.. It was a gift."

Dahlia felt like she was going to faint--first vampires, and now this?! "Dear Lord,..," she whispered, "next you're going to tell me little pixies dance around my head at night whilst the underwear gnomes steal my left sock for the witches brew...." She sat up straighter, eyes focusing somewhat. "They aren't really real, are they?" she questioned worridly. "You know I was just joking."

Dahlia groaned and let her head fall forcefully back against the headrest, mentally berating herself for even asking. She had the worst luck with questions, especially ones asked of Iris. She reluctantly started the car and looked ahead. "I'm sorry."

Dahlia parked in the near-empty lot in front of the strip mall, turning off the engine and ocketing the keys carefully. "Oh... Wow." Guilt again; before, simply because of the way Iris was, the teen had ostrasized her. She was still wondering where that fear had gone, in fact... "Umm, as.. pets and recreation, but not really as transportation. I mean, there are still some cultures that do, and some religious sects here, too, I mean, but not.. other people. Like, people who... who.." Damnit. How could she explain things like this?

"I'm sorry Iris said "I wont' ask any more questions" she said as she got out of the car and looked around. Alot of people were giving her stairs since she was wearing a tanktop in the middle of autum when it was starting to get relly chilly out.

Dahlia groaned once more, sincerely tempted to slam her head against the steering wheel for her own stupidity. Instead she stood, heaving a sigh as she stepped from her car; she locked it and motioned for Iris to follow with a hung head.

Iris followed her, she acted as though this was normal when really there were thosands of questions she wanted to ask but bit her touge she had arleady upset her once with qpuestions.

Dahlia slipped inside the supermarket with ease--though she stopped when it hit her that Iris might be confused by the doors. "Umm, these.. are doors. They open because they have sensor-thingys that know you're there, so they slide open so you don't have to push or pull them," she explained as she turned to face the other woman, smiling encouragingly. Explaining some of the other things, however, was going to be hard...

Dahlia blinked and turned, inspecting the can briefly. "Oh, it's food. Spaghetti.. Only it's been put in a can so it will last longer," she explained, showing her the opening. "You pull this little tab and it will open, and you pour the food into a bowl, put it into the microwave, heat it up, and then you can eat it."

"I see" she said putting it back "Intresting I like this shopping method" she said and fell quiet again.

"There's no bartering here, either," she said offhandedly, just remembering the old method buying and selling. Dahlia smiled at Iris. "Do you have any other questions? Really, I don't mind.."

She was looking around and over at the meat sections "DO they kill the animals here?" she asked.

"Huh? Oh.." Dahlia wrinkled her nose a little at the meat. "No, they have... other places," she answered slowly, "called slaughterhouses. They kill them there and ship them all around the States and they go to stores to be sold."

"Mmhmm," Dahlia answered, glad to be moving on to a more pleasant topic of conversation. She smiled. "Some come from local farms, others can come from different corporation's farms, too. People don't often raise their own livestock anymore."

The clerk rang her up and then told the price she looked at him and took out a small purse it held about twety cold coins. The man looke dat hte purse and seen the relestice of it was he looked around "Your not form here are you" he asked, Iris shook her head "Not here at all" he nodded" Here" he said giving her some money back and she went and looke at other stores.

Dahlia jumped, startled abruptly from her thoughts, and spun--she didn't like people sneaking up behind her. But when she saw Iris, the teen smiled. "Oh, I don't mind at all. Did you enjoy your exploration of the grocery store?" She hadn't a clue that the vampiress might have ventured out.

She smiled and tentatively took Iris's hand, leading her along to the cashier. They were through quickly (it really wasn't a busy day) and soon were home, the drive not taking long.
"I'll be done unloading in just a moment," she called to Iris from the kitchen, unloading the various items and saving the bags beneath the sink.

Dahlia's frown increased and she squirmed, suddenly thrusting her wrist outward in Iris's direction. "Well then,.. then.. Take some!" She sounded slightly upset, her orbs dark. She didn't like the though of Iris being hurt. The teen wasn't distracted much by Iris's next words, though, but was curious. Still holding out her wrist, she asked, "How.. did you pay for them?"

"But-..." Dahlia frowned further (though of course she shivered and blushed at the caress of the vampiress's lips against her skin), wrist not dropping, and her lower lip stuck out faintly. "You can take a little--just a bit every day for awhile. I generate blood really fast; even the Red Cross says so!" she insisted, half pleading. But her eyes widened when a tinkling pouch was pushed into her face, making her pull back a bit. "Umm..." Blink. "Wow."

Well then. She'd never have to worry about rent, would she? Dahlia pushed the bag away, however, and stared up at Iris with renewed fierceness--her mother's stubborness was kicking in. "You didn't hurt me before," she retorted, tone accusatory--though her cheeks were on fire with rememberance. No,.. No pain had been invovled in that specific memory, even if it was fuzzy.

Another shiver. Suddenly the teen was really rather glad she'd already unloaded the last of the groceries as they had spoken.
Then, despite her blush, Dahlia smiled in approval and nodded while pushing the few empty bags from her lap and stood, closing the fridge as well. She stepped over (it really wasn't a very long distance) to Iris and sat down awkwardly--but her smile was bright. She held up her wrist once more.

She knew it was getting harder for her to stop so she nuzzled into her "Thank you but please.. no more for a long time alright" she said her voice was soft "Let me warm some fo that soup of that soup up for you" she said, but truth was she did not want to mvoe nor let her go.

Dahlia was leaning against Iris's shoulder heavily, panting and flush-faced, eyes at half mast. She swallowed and made a soft mewl of protest--she was stopping.. Why? The girl felt like a druggie who'd just gotten their high, and then their supply was cut off. Still, she nodded drunkenly, head swimming; whatever she wanted.. That was fine.. Though she wasn't particularly partial to moving at the moment.

Though she has said she would warm the soup up she did not move in fact she kept her cloer nuzzleing itno her "MY poor Dahilas" she whispered "You looked exhasuted" she kept her eyes close keepn her there, she coudl hear her heartbeat and everything. In truth she wanted to drink more blood but she knew if she drunk to much, then Dahila woudl be no more.

Dahlia giggled a little, clumsily wrapping her arms around Iris's neck, squirming when the woman nuzzled her. She grinned widely, dizzy still, and waved it off. "N-nooo...," she stifled a tiny yawn, a natural reaction she had when someone mentioned sleep and the authoress herself is tired {Ha ha!}, "mee?" The girl giggled again and shook her head--a mistake. The world spun again and she had to reclose her eyes, though she only laughed more. "Not at.. aaallll...~"

She smiled she picked her up "Tehn lets take you up to yoru bed so the world can stop spinning" she said she was carful as she walked. She noticed her hand felt alot better asn she was happy. Once to Dahilas room she sat her in her bed and covered her up she acutally laid next to her looking at her "Is there anythgin I can get you mayeb a drink or I coudl bring the soup up to you now" she said softly.

"Woaahh..." Dahlia squeezed her eyes shut further when the world now tilted, her grip on Iris tightening a little. "But I dooon' waaannaa..." she mumbled unhappily, pouting, but the moment she hit the bed she was curling up, yawning softly. The young woman cuddled closer to her vampiress (she wasn't sure when she had come to think of Iris that way, but it simply sounded much better), who was definitely warmer than before, and nestled her face in the crook of the other woman's shoulder and neck. "No...-ope...," Dahlie murmured contentedly, already drifting off. Perhaps Iris had taken more than the teen had initially thought--not that she at all minded, obviously.
