Well I did say (A while back I must admit) that I'll make one, and here it is. The perfect place to discuss plot devices, character behaviors, new ideas, new characters and generally anything OOC!
Hopefully this'll also keep those of us left interested when somebody else is offline for a few days or feeling braindead.

Without further ado, Let us fly ladies and gentlemen...

OK then. Allow me to bring up the first matter to the OOC thread.

Now that Cain is dead for the second time I'm going to have to work my characters into the main story. Could I just get a short update since I haven't been able to fallow you guys around.

Well, there's been an assasination attempt upon Justin who has a fair amount of history with some powerful people and the Calaian Sun is going to attempt to run the blockade thats being put in place along with any smugglers etc wishing to get out while they can. Justin and Gwylan are going to go around the abrs playing it by ear, listening to the gossip about when the general bulk will leave. We were going to timeskip to evening... but They could always run into Gwylan in a bar, looking for a captain with whatever qualities they want while Jacob and Marken go to the palace to break out Amy. We'd start this scene around early evening.

Just a heads up, the most likely way to get themselves a job on the ship is through Riku, an engineer is always useful.

It's been moving pretty slowly. Right now, the princess and Jacob have made their way to the ship; they're going to spring the street boy's friend from the royal harem, then run away to the ship proper. Justin, meanwhile, has decided to defy the royal decree docking all ships for an unspecified period of time and get out of the city before it goes into lock-down for an unspecified period of time. Both he and Gwylan are going to be scanning for information regarding this, keeping their ears to the ground and talking to people around the docks to pick up the buzz. In the meantime, an old "friend" of Justin's from the navy has shown up, and seems out to make things interesting. Anything I'm missing, guys?
Oh, but the "meeting" idea is a good one. We can do that right now, if you like. :) I'll wend Gwylan towards a likely location, if you feel so inclined.

Yeah, seems to be the best option. If you guys are listening to rumors then I have the prefect idea to join. But it might take a bit to get the post up since school just let out and I don't know when I'm heading home, and I cant post on the car ride.

This seems like a good place to ask a question that's been bugging me: What was the verdict on magic being a part of this thing? I remember back at the start when I was thinking about using a Notus character Astareal and I talked about it, but I ended up just not joining. So I was wondering if magic was just a very rare thing or just not incorporated.

You know, I've wondered the same thing. I know Astareal and I talked about it, as well, in conjunction with a mystery in Gwylan's past. But we never cleared it up for certain. I think we were skewing towards possible but very rare, though.

Hmmm... I figure if it's out there, Magpie is likely to have one or two little items that did something or other. I kind of want to give him a magic pocket/pouch or something like that for carrying stuff around so I don't have to worry about figuring out where he keeps all of his daggers. =P

That would be very in-keeping with what I saw of his character, thus far. He strikes me as someone who would acquire an oddity like that.

As far as Magic goes, you come across angel-blooded beings now and then. Throwbacks from the war, when the angels were in there prime.. descendants of the original, powerful, genetically altered beings before they were exterminated. Not so much magic as abiities like foresight and teleknisis, generally extremely weak though it is a key plot point.any "Items" would more likely be old tech stuff.. stuff that would almost seem magic to most people like a kinetic barrier.

Plans for Magpie: A) Joins in the rescuing of the one girl from the palace. B) Goes back to the Calaian Sun and waits for everyone else to show up again (he'd get back much sooner than the time skip). C) Goes back to the ship and then hunts down Justin or Gwylan, possibly loops back to plan A.

I'm thinking I'll go with A/C if Psychokid or Astareal gives me an opening for it. After all it gives Magpie another chance to jab at Marken (he and I had way too much fun with that =P) and the palace has many pretty things inside. Good as he is he doesn't often get the chance to steal from royalty.

Marken's just letting him in through the back then going about her business. Being a thief, as well as an extremely curious person I could imagine Magpie tailing Jacob and pulling him out of danger when he nearly falls into it.

Me too. Something I have no doubt is going to happen, given circumstances. I'm looking forward to seeing this little scenario play out. :)

Hey Coga, would you be offended if I spell checked your posts? I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I noticed that the majority of your mistakes are using the wrong word rather than misspelling words. I figure if I can point out the right word it might help you out in the future.

Providing that the actual RP has not died I'm going to try and explain the character of the fool.

The Fool is... weird. Inspiration is drawn from the character of the Fool/White prophet from Robin Hobb's Assassin and Fool trilogies. He is tale and pale but dark. His skin is pale and his hair is almost white with large black streaks running through it. The hair falls to about his chest but is tucked behind his ears with bangs framing his face. He could almost be described as pretty. A youthful figure that is the image of contrast. He is slim but exudes power, angular but graceful. His eyes are often darkened as if with a substance like eye shadow that can be green red black or blue, and always dark and his lips will match this colour. The eye make-up is spread, like a star and his eyes also incredibly dark, changing tint to reflect the colours around. He favours extravagant clothing that tends to flow and his peculiar fashion style often has a belt/buckle motif to it, as if the bind him.
He entered the court along with the Prince one day to the outrage of the gentry who had never heard of him. He was given a title, privilege and status. Any command coming from the fool, is to be seen as a command from the Prince himself and as such he is an intimidating presence. The fool may be a youthful man in his mid twenties, or a boy of sixteen with the air of a prematurely aged individual, nobody knows his age nor his name and he is only referred to as the fool except in formal presence. When one must keep appearances, he is known as Fitzgerald though none believe this to be his true name.
The fool shows little emotion at all and as such is an unsettling individual that money regard with distrust.

Hey. I've inactive for a while because my characters are on their way to the ship and I really don't know how long thats supposed to take or whats going on on the ship right now. If now is a good time I'll have Fas and the others show up on the boat, if not I can keep them wondering

That would be great, I've been inactive as much as you i'm afraid =[. It would also give Gwylan and Justin more dialogue options while they wait for the debacle at the palace to finish.

If all else fails, wake up from a "nap" and be totally bewildered, too. Then we can explain things in-character. ;) I was much the same way as Coga; I had to wait for a reply before I could continue posting. I was hoping his guys would show up soon! Also, this "Fool" character sounds intriguing.

I have no internet cause my computer caught a virus. I did a clean installation of the OS and now it won't connect to the internet. So I won't be responding for a while.

K well i have been out of the roleplay for a long time heh My bad. But any who are we still on the ship and no doubt it has obviously ventured from the place were I acquired temporary amnesia. *said as a figure of speech.* Any big alliance or enemies made yet?? :D

None as yet. It's later the same day, still. We've gathered some information, the princess and her orphan helper got into the palace, a couple more folks are on their way to try to sign on.... That's the utterly briefest suppary thereof.

We have two ideas that will come together to one end i'm just not sure how yet :p

As for Dart, Wulf, he's still in the Galley, lets assume he knows of the plans to break the blockade and he can come up on deck any time. And Kai, Avengerspirit should head back to the ship as soon as you can ok? :)

Feel free to bounce them off me, if you like. Seeing as Gwylan has nothing to do with the harem, there's no worry about player-character separation there.

well the culmination is a big surprise and twist ;)
But Jacob wants to get amy out and Wolfgang has invited Yuuki to play someone else in the harem, As far as i'm concerned there needs to be a reason for that person to leave the harem with someone she doesn't know (unless they do know each other) and others to not.

I figured having a player in the harem would make things easier for me. NPCs rarely get even the illusion of depth. Also the player's ulterior motives lend a hand to how things play out (getting her to come along) since I doubt she'd want to have her character hang around in the palace the whole roleplay while everyone else is off on the ship.

That would hardly be fair, yes. She'd only be able to interact with one other character, really, and that not very often. To find yourself in a position of isolation in a game can be very frustrating. Now I'm intrigued about her ulterior motives and what not, though. When might we expect to meet this character?

Heh, by "ulterior motives" I meant the player's desire for interaction verses the obvious need to stay in character. Basically just indicating that if the stars need to align just right for this to happen they probably will.

Anyway, Yuuki said she'd try to have her character up by friday... hopefully things won't progress too far before then.

I don't think she needs to worry. This is a game that tends to move at a slow pace, sort of as a whole. I'm sure she'll be able to slip in with relative ease.

*sighs* I like but dislike the coming of age. It means I get to try so many new things! But on the other hand time will be tied between Graduating getting a job or going to school for photography. So I might not be on in a while. A long while that is. So it might be a while before I return but I will try to get on once in a blue moon when i get time to me self. I only have id say. 3 months or so till i graduate then its back to school. College It will be fun.

To be frank, half the participants seem to have hardly been here at all. Including the owner of the game. So you can't single-handedly take the blame for slowing things down.

seems like things have kind of stopped in the roleplay :( very sad. Im really wanting to get back into roleplaying though if there are any good ones please tell me. I am getting tired of gaia with the constant simplemindedness of some people.

I can't beleive it took me two weeks to notice this.... I'm sorry! But either way, yes, this one seems to have fizzled. Everyone in it has disappeared, including the owner and operator. That saddens me, as I really liked this one.... I miss playing Gwylan.

Yeah. My formal apologies for vanishing like that. I'm back in school so I'll be on every day again, though it looks like that wont make too much a difference for this, unless we want to try to salvage something from it

Well, it wasn't just you. Everyone else vanished, too. Including the owner of the game, who we really can't go on without. But if a few other people return and are interested, I'm friends with him on Facebook, so I could always message him and ask if he'd be willing to come back.

And its alright, but yea I'm getting time off and trying to get back into my reading and role playing habits now but it is very hard. I'm hoping we can start up some kind of really relaxed role play, I'v been out of the game for so long so I need to get some stories that interest me. Which I have only found once in a full moon but I'm sure I can get back into my old habits. :griningmonkey
