Genre:
experimental/electronic
Info:
He was originally with a band called flippers guitar, but his sound has changed a bit. corenlius (born oyamada keigo) is an electronic artist, but dont run away! no one hates techno more then me and he is not techno. he plays guitar and i think drums and maybe more stuff, im not sure. and he samples his own playing along with his voice to make some really unique and interesting stuff. a lot of people like to call him 'the japanese beck' but i think hes way cooler X3 incidently, hes married to minekawa takako, and some parallels can definetly be drawn between their music.

shimauta
Info:
asazaki ikue is a shimauta artist from the island of amami(which has its own distinct musical stylings) thats been releasing stuff since around 2002 or so. i believe she was born in 1935, putting her at about 70.
the amami islands are part of a clump of islands that fall between japan and taiwan, called the nansei shoto, which consists of four groupings:okinawa, amami, miyako, and yaeyama. these islands have their own traditional dialects (which are completely different from standard japanese) and are a great source for music. tho these dialects are disappearing more and more, and its mostly only the older people who are still really using them. tho, there are currently a handful of shimauta singers that have gained popularity and are at least keeping the music alive.

At the age of 17, Nakashima Mika decided not to attend High School in order to pursue a career in music. She sent a demo tape to Sony Records and was soon signed as a singer and an actress.
Mika's musical debut was the theme song to the drama “Kizu darake no Love Song”, which was released on her first single STARS. STARS sold 60,000 copies and came in at third place on the Oricon charts. Her second single, Crescent Moon, was limited to 100,000 copies, which all sold on the first day. Her first album, TRUE, was released in 2002 and went straight to #1, selling a million copies within the first three weeks of release.
Mika has done two Live Tours, one in 2003 and another one in 2004, and is currently on her third, entitled LET'S MUSIC TOUR 2005. Her 'LOVE' tour is notable for having sold out in 2 minutes.
In 2005 she starred in the NANA movie and finished her third tour. Her single for the movie, GLAMOROUS SKY (written by L'Arc~en~Ciel's Hyde), was released August 31st and climbed to number one in the Oricon charts. It was, in fact, her first time being number one on the Oricon charts.
In 2002, she received The Japan Gold Disc New Artist of the Year Award, the All Japan Request Best New * Artist of the Year Award and the 44th Japanese Record New Artist of the Year Award.

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o208/Tracia_Kurosawa/chara.jpg
Chara is a Japanese singer, songwriter, musician and actress born on January 13, 1968. Her real name is Miwa Sato.
One of the things that defines Chara's music is her singing voice. It is often described as sweet and whispering like a child's, yet forceful and sincere. Despite her very distinctive singing voice, Chara considers herself a musician first and foremost; proficient with instruments such as the piano, drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, synthesizer and tambourine. There are common themes to a lot of her music, including motherhood, innocence, love, beauty, and cheerfulness.
She has appeared as one of the main characters in 'Swallowtail Butterfly' movie and sang all the songs. The album 'Montage' is actually a vocal collection from this movie, that's why it was released under the name of Yen Town Band - which is a fictional band from the story. She has also played in 'Picnic' where she's met her future husband, very popular japanese actor Asano Tadanobu.

Baby V.O.X. (Hangul: 베이비복스, standing for Baby Voices of Xpression) was one of South Korea's most popular girl groups, belonging to record company DR Music. Although it initially had much internal turmoil, Baby V.O.X. eventually became a successful, cohesive group from 1999 to 2005, releasing many hit albums. However, after the dismal failure of their last album Ride West, it began to unravel again. By the end of that year, all of the members had left the company, with some going solo, and others moving into other entertainment areas. In December 2006, DR released the news that the group has been named Baby Vox Re.V[1]; the group debuted in early 2007.
