Years ago, when I was a kid, our world was one… Everything was peaceful under the protection of the Guardians. Two of which, were my parents. They were among some of the greatest Guardians ever, their whole generation was… Each had a different skill to contribute, and those skills are passed down from generation to generation. Me and my little sister are the only two in our generation know to have both parents be Guardians. Oh, my little sister, she was once one of the most talkative, energetic children I’ve ever encountered. The only way my parents could get her to sleep was to sing to her. I remember those days fondly… They all ended when I was 13.

One night, while my little sister was sleeping, and I was supposed to be sleeping, I heard a noise coming from outside. Looking out the window into the garden courtyard, I watched as our world began to divide. I watched as my parents valiantly fought off dark figures, trying to keep our home and beyond it from being engulfed by the darkness. I ran outside to try to help them in anyway I could, as they both muttered a spell and gave up their energy to banish the shadows from our grounds.

My father had sensed my presence for he yelled to me. “Alucard! Get back inside and protec- Ahhh…”
I watched as one of the beasts grabbed him as it tried to resist the seal, and carried him into the forest.

My mother had taken a minor blow. Clutching her wound, she turned to me. “Alucard, my son… I’m sorry… Take care of your sister…” She then charged out of the grounds though the western gate…

I never saw her again… From what I’ve heard, all the Guardians vanished that night, leaving their husbands, wives, and children on there own.

Most of the families suffered, but none as much as my sister. She was only 3 and she had already lost both parents, and the thing is, she has no idea as to what happened… But, amazingly, she’s been strong, and quiet. I’ve not seen her cry but once, and that was the day after.

For 14 years, the seal has held up, but, just a few nights ago, something got through… Whatever it was, it took Yue. And now, I only fear for her life. I’ve sent a message to all the other Guardians of our generation, hoping they’ll be able to help me save one of our own, and possibly, restore the world to one.

A few notes:
You are playing as a guardian, and to be a guardian, one of parents must of been one, and they pass down that title to you. (And I'm speaking to you as if you are your character(s).

If you wish not to be a guardian, you can play as a Night Shadow. Perhaps nobility or something like that. (But I honestly think playing a Guardian would be more fun.)

Wolfgang Hype will be playing the Night Shadow King. If you have a problem with that, then deal with it!

This is a fantasy like Role Play that DOES NOT take place in the real world.

Guardians can sence auras and the Guardians have different auras than normal people, just as the Night Shadows are different for humans.

Night Shadows - Creatures of Darkness. They have always been able to be in the human world, but only at night, and they were never to be able to take on a true form. (Until the night half the world was engulfed in total darkness.) They are the shadows you see at night that seem to be cast by nothing, and when you hear things shifting a bit at night, it is caused by them. When a human remains in their world for long enough, them slowly become one themselves.
I think that's about all the notes I can think of for the RPG, if I come up with more, I'll post them.

~Rules~
1. If you were not invited by me, Guendolen_Sama, or Wolfgang Hype, or you are not on the list (See next post), then DO NOT POST IN THIS RPG! If you have a suggestion as to someone you would like to invite, check it by one of us and be sure to let me know so I can add them to the list.
2. BE LITTERATE! You don’t have to post a whole page worth in your post, I’m only asking for at least a paragraph or two that are more than a line or two long. Make sure to try to have good grammar and spelling. The only exception to the grammar part is in dialog, cause very few people really do speak with perfect grammar.
Use “For talking” and ABSOLUTLY NO *action*! (The only exception to this is if it’s on OOC’s)
3. No God Modding. The only time you should ever be controlling another person’s character is if they give you permission to.
4. Don’t kill off another person character(s). Yet again, the only time you’re ever allowed to do that is if they give you permission to.
5. Don’t hog the RPG and leave everyone else behind. If you and one or two other people are the only ones to post for a whole page, then give it a rest and wait till other people can catch up and start posting. The no leaving people behind also pertains to skipping ahead in time. Make sure everyone is ready before you change what time of day or what day it is.(This is one thing I have had a problem with in the past on another forum where two people took up five+ pages between just the two of them and basically made time fast forward for everyone else. XP)
6. No going beyond kissing in the thread. If you want to do the nasty, take it somewhere private so we don’t have to see it. (That one should be a given seeing how it is in the forum rules.)
7. Please don’t post in the thread unless you have been invited to join the RPG.
8. Please use the OOC Thread (http://www.dollwizard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48642).
9. If you have a question, depending on what type, you can either PM it to me if it has to do with making your character or something like that. Or, if it’s something about the RPG that might be good for everyone to know, then feel free to post it in the thread!
Also, if you have any ideas that might better the plot then PM me and let me know what they are so we can decide to use them or not.
10. DO NOT START THE RPG UNLESS I SAY SO! (I’ve had problems with this elsewhere, but I doubt I’ll have them here, but figured I’d mention it just incase! ^-^)

Human or Night Shadow: Human

Name: Yue
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Guardian of: Love and Light

Wolfgang Hype
03-03-2009, 03:05 AM
Name: Erebus
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Guardian of: Darkness

Personality: Erebus is not a maleficent being, instead he is devoted solely to his people and his ambition. He will do whatever it takes to get to where he feels he needs to be. He is cunning and will manipulate those who he can use, though he doesn't do it out of spite.

Appearance: His presence causes darkness and become nothing but shadow himself so his true appearance is hard to discern. His skin is a dark gray, though it appears black in the absence of light, as does his hair which is a dark blue. His eyes have black "whites", golden irises and white pupils. He generally wears rich fabrics of dark colors.

Weapon: Darkness

Bio: Erebus' father was the one who discovered how to let the Night Shadows into the human world, the world of light. That act of ambition earned him respect from his kind, however it was also his undoing. The Guardians of the world of light were captured and brought to him. Though they blundered in the darkness of his presence they still managed to slay the King.

Erebus, then the Prince, saw his father's death and knew they would try to kill him next. He fell upon them in their moment of victory, before they could regain their strength and avenged his father. Now he is King and continues his father's ambition.

Human or Night Shadow: Night Shadow

< - > - < - > - < - >

Name: Marduk Wiater
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Guardian of: Free Will

Personality: Marduk is rebellious and free spirited as the Guardian of Free Will. He resents authority and will immediately balk if a request is not phrased as such. To top it off he's as stubborn as a mule. This can make him frustrating to be around as if you pick your words poorly he'll overreact. Along with obedience Marduk is also lacking in the virtues of patience and restraint. He's got a quick temper and will charge headlong into a lot of situations. That's not to say he's without virtue. Marduk is kind and will ignore any protests if he decides to be helpful and will stay dedicated to any cause until it has reached its conclusion.

Appearance: Marduk stands tall at 6'3" with sapphire blue eyes and weathered skin from training in all weather. His dirty blond hair is pulled back into a short ponytail at the base of his neck. He wears a cut down suit of armor, with most of the joints exposed to allow ease of movement. The majority of his armor is adorned with the appearance of scales and his helmet is shaped like the head of a dragon with two horns protruding from the back. His cloak is red and cut into two pointed oval shapes to imitate wings.

Weapon: Partisan (spear) and wind magic

Bio: Marduk almost resented being the son of a Guardian and destined to take over his father's role when he was young. The night he vanished they'd had yet another argument about his training. Marduk had stormed to his room but tried to sneak out almost immediately. He found himself face to face with a dozen Night Shadows. Shouting in terror he'd fled around to the front of his house, hoping his father could save him. His father did, banishing the shadows and sealing their house before being taken himself.

After that Marduk freely decided to take up his father's role and become the Guardian of Free Will. His mother was initially against it, fearing her son would be lost as well, but she has become proud of his decision as he has grown. Recently however, she was taken as well and Marduk has decided to join up with Alucard as his sister was also taken.

(Sorry; I was gone all evening for gaming, so it was a while before I got this.)

Name: Narissara Kalare
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Guardian of: Knowledge
Personality: When one thinks of the Guardian of Knowledge, one expects to find a retiring bookworm, shy and quiet, or at least someone studiously reserved. That’s… not precisely the case, here. Oh, Narissara is bright, no question of that. But more than anything else, she’s inquisitive. Highly so, in fact. Let others sequester themselves away with their second-hand research. Narissara would rather get out there and see and try everything first-hand. She’s an active, hands-on learner, curious about everything and eager to find as many experiences as possible. How do you learn it if you don’t try it? That’s how she feels about such things. She’s not a daredevil; she’s bright enough to not take ridiculous risks. But a little one… well, so long as knowledge is gained in the end, what’s the problem?
Appearance: http://media.photobucket.com/image/anime%20girl%20red%20hair/Hitoban_no_fokkusu/Sashira.jpg?o=145
Weapon: A slim-bladed short sword, plus a certain command of air/wind magic.
Bio: Narissara, as you no doubt guessed, is the daughter of one of the past Guardians. Her mother was the previous Guardian of Knowledge. Scholarship has always been a part of her family, so it was a natural assumption for her. She even married a fellow scholar, after her official duties of Guardianship were over.
It follows that a lot of Narissara’s life was quiet. She grew up in the tower-library her parents called home, steeped in books and learning. At first, this was enough. But as Narissara grew older, she began to get restless. She felt she’d read all she could read, and it was time to experience such things first-hand. Thus it was that Narissara wasn’t there the night her parents were taken…. Just barely, she missed it. On some level, she blames herself for what happens. Logic acknowledges that it’s possible she would have been taken, too. But feelings insist that if she had only been there, her presence could have turned that tide…. Thus, she fully embraced her own role as a Guardian, determined to take up with the others and prevent the Night Shadows from taking over.

Alucard stood leaning against the western gate of Coshira Village, the wind blowing through his dark, brown hair. It had been about a mornings walk from the manor he called home to the village. In the letter he sent out to all the other Guardians of his generation, he had requested that they meat him hear on this very day, if they wished to join him in saving his sister. While the manor would have gotten they closer to where they were going, the village was a much more convenient place for those who were coming to meat up.
So far, none had shown up. He stared off into the sky, thinking. "Just hold on, Yue. I'll be coming to find you soon..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yue sat alone in a cold dark dungeon. She wasn't sure where she was or how she got there. She just knew she had waken up there what seemed like a few days ago. There was very little light where she was, just that given off the flame of a candle a few feet away. She looked at it, the light of it reflecting in her green eyes. It seemed to give her a bit of hope that she would not be stuck in this darkness forever.
Even as Alucard spoke, another figure approached. A shapely young woman, with long red hair and rich purple eyes, wearing a simple black and white dress. A sword hung at her hip, and a large pack slung over her back. She carried an open book in one hand, her eyes on the pages as she walked.
Thus it was that she was almost on top of him, proverbially, before she realized they were about to collide. "Oh! I do beg your pardon." Narissara moved back a step. If he had looked, he would have seen the open book she carried was a miniature Atlas, open to a map that was presumably the road she had traveled to get to this place. "I came here to meet someone."
She regarded the other gravely for a moment, studying with care. "You wouldn't happen to be Alucard, would you?..." she said, slowly. They hadn't met, but... there was something familiar about him, on a deep and fundamental level.
Alucard turned his gaze to the young women who had just spoken to him. He nodded when she asked if he was Alucard. "Yes, I am," he said with a smile. He could sense her aura was that of a guardian, and felt at easy because of it. "Thank you for coming to aid me Miss..?" he cut off, having not caught her name yet.
Guendolen_Sama
"I am Narissara Kalare," the young woman responded. "I am pleased to be able to aid you," she added gravely. "Am I simply the first, or are there no others coming?" Just two of them would be ambitious, on such a quest. But it would be a challenge, and Narissara did have a good mind that liked to be worked....
"The pleasure is mine to both meat you as well as have your help." Alucard said with a smile. "I'm not entirely sure if we'll be joined by any others, though I hope we shall. We'll need as many people as we can get seeing how our parents weren't able to themselves all those years ago." The thought of his parents lowered his spirit briefly, but it also made him much more determined to bring down the King of Night Shadows once and for all.
Narissara nodded, briefly silent as well. She still in part blamed herself for her own parental loss. If she had just been there, instead of out exploring.... But if she wanted to be effective, she couldn't dwell on it or brood. "How long do we wait and see who else may join us?" she asked instead.
Alucard looked up into the sky, observing the placement of the sun. He began to think, then replied, "I'd say when the sun is half way between the time it's highest and when it sets. That should give them plenty of time to get here as well as give us plenty of time to get back to the manor before night fall."
Guendolen_Sama
03-08-2009, 10:22 PM
"I presume the manor in question is to be the base of operations." Sensible, to have them all operate out of one single location, and always have a location to retreat to. "Do you have any sort of plan in mind already, or will that wait until we see how many answer your call?"
Yuuki_Rin_Morra
03-08-2009, 10:46 PM
"For the most part, yes, it will be." said Alucard. "As for a plan, I've not yet come up with one. Too many variables that could change. As well as we won't know what all we'll have to work with. We'll discus it more once we're at the manor."
Marduk strolled casually down the road to Coshira, the sun glinting off his armor in brief flashes. His partisan was balanced over his shoulder, the ornate head balanced by his wrist draped over the shaft. He was deliberately taking his time getting there to save himself the impatience of waiting for others. Yet as the village came into sight he felt his excitement grow.
He paused on the path and gave a small shrug as he looked at the village. This close he couldn't restrain himself to a walk any longer. As he shrugged his wrist yanked down on its end of the shaft, flipping the partisan over his shoulder into a fighting grip. He tossed it immediately to his right hand and shoved off hard with his legs. Wind magic swirled around him as he rose impossibly high despite the burden of armor. He slammed back down to the path and his legs easily absorbed the shock as the shaft of his weapon rapped lightly against the ground, then kicked off again. The superhuman leaps ate up the distance between him and the village.
Marduk laughed out loud as he began to overtake people entering and leaving the village, looking down at their astonished faces. He landed neatly atop the southern gate and paused to survey the village. "Hey!" He called and waved to the people staring up at him then took off along the wall towards the western gate.
Alucard could sense the aura of another guardian approaching quickly from the south. He turned to look down the road, but saw nothing but civilians going about there daily business. It wasn't until he noticed people looking up at the wall, gasping in aw or backing away scared that he saw the approaching Guardian running along the top of the wall.
He turned to Narissara and said, "It would seem that we've got at least one more person joining our quest."
Guendolen_Sama
03-09-2009, 03:05 AM
Narissara looked up at the individual in question. "So it would seem," she said mildly. It was clear she wasn't as impressed as the others, who were gawking, gasping, and pointing. Someone who acted in such a way was brash, a show-off, or had no common sense. Perhaps some combination thereof. Either way, she lightly folded her arms as she watched, wondering when he would be done shouting and posing and actually deign to come introduce himself.
