If I Were In Charge of The World:

Hello. I've never really posted anything I've written as far as poetry goes....but well....here goes! This is an assignment I was supposed to do in my english class, but I decided this one was to personal to share in front of the class. So to not waste it, I'm going to post it here.

If I Was In Charge of The World;
then said world would be my Dreamland.
It would change with my every whim.
Things would be fun and colorful.
And life would be like an amusement park, like a roller coaster!
Buildings and nature would be made of
cakes and candy.
One could eat as much as they want, as long as they say please and thank you.
The world would be ever changing because my dreams are always changing.

But if I were in charge of the world;
people wouldn't be lonely.
They wouldn't cry when no one is around.
They wouldn't have to hide behind fake smiles.
Scars wouldn't matter, whether they be physical or emotional.
And no one would feel unloved.
Everyone would have someone else.
You would be able to love anyone you wanted to.
Whether they be male, female, light, dark, rich, or poor.
It wouldn't matter.
If I were in charge...
Then would I be happy?

If I were in charge of the world;
super heroes would be super.
And the bad guys wouldn't be so bad.
Wouldn't that make super heroes pointless then?
That's okay. Because there will be days where you can be good, and days where you can be bad.
You won't get punished on those bad days.
So go right ahead super heroes.
Drop your capes and just be normal for once.
If you want to be.

If I was in charge of the world,
would people who are ashamed, finally be proud of me?
Would my mother come back to see me?
Would the man I love remember me?
Would you finally know who I am?
Would you finally know I exist?

If I were really in charge of the world,
things would be very different.
It wouldn't be my Dreamland.
And it wouldn't be made of cake and candy.
Not everyone would be happy,
and my mother probably would never ever come back and see me.
The man I love has probably forgotten all about me and moved on.
Not everyone would be happy, but not everyone would be sad.
People would still cry. People would still laugh. People would still be lonely.
If I was in charge of the world, I would do my best.
I would do my best to keep those I love and treasure happy.
But the baddies would still be bad, so I'm sorry super heroes, but you have to wear the cape for a while longer.
Just like some have to wait to be with their special someone, or even have to wait to find their special someone.


Guess no one'll ever let me be in charge of the world...

I liked it a lot^-^ I liked the beginning how it was all made on fantasy, then the ending ended in more of a reality. good insight, I really love it ^_^

i think I'll write one later, but i think that we everyone should challenge ourselves to show us what everyone would do if they could change the world.

If I was in charge of the World.
If I was in charge of the world, everything would go my way.
The Earth would be my dreamland, for me to run about and play.
If I were in charge of the world, everything would be bright.
No dreary, dull place. Everything would have light!
If I was in charge of the world, no one would disagree-
what I say goes, you have to listen to me!
If I was in charge of the world, he would be in my arms.
He would hold me very tight, and I would feel his warmth.
If I was in charge of the world..

Hope you like it! I know its short and not that good, but I liked it.
