[The Librarian]

London: 2038. In a time when man had become dependent on science, believing only in what he could define or create, ancient knowledge and rituals were lost to the antiquity of time. Prophecies that had stood as warning for untold generations were seen as archaic folly or ignorant superstition. It was then, at mankind's weakest moment, the demons came. Their brute force and overwhelming numbers swept the globe with little trouble. Mankind was forced underground, scavenging to survive. Now, 18 years after the demonic invasion of 2020, in the winding tunnels of the London underground, a new Alliance is forming to battle the hordes of hell that have destroyed London. Hunters are military units or atleast resemble them--they have guns and use most forms of ballistics weaponry.

Cabalists are sorcerers that use the Demon's own magic against them. They have been known to consume too much Darkness, however, and their physical and mental states are questionable...

Templar are the holy swordsmen. They use shields and swords and are actually stronger when overwhelmed. They use holy magic, usually in the form of healing spells.

In terms of his past, Helle only remembers small bits from before his 'accident'. Most of those memories are rather horrid memories of his godparents. After the 'accident' he began learning the ways of a Cabalist, and has set his heart and soul into that, believing that it is his duty to save others from the pain he felt as a child, though at times it seems as if this need to help and the feel of his power has corrupted him.

Helle appeared next to Alex, a cold look on his face. "Anything interesting going on here, by any chance?" His voice was soft and deep, the sort of voice one would distinctly remember hearing.

He nodded, twisting his head from side to side, producing a loud crack. "The only question now is, where do we find such a thing?" His shaggy black hair blew a it in the slight breeze, as did the ends of the cloth tied around his eyes.

"How 'bout you and I go for a look, then, eh?" He let his hands fall to his sides, and stepped forward a bit. He had a chilly smirk on his face, touches of mailice and darkness about it, though it hardly seemed anything to worry about. As he moved, corded muscle rippled under flesh, making the many scars slightly more prominent.

Tinker popped his head out of a manhole. "Say, have you guys seen my sparkplugs? I've got a present for those lizards."

"sure and no i havnt seen your stupid sparkplugs you really think 2 cabalist would touch some sparkplugs"Alex turned and started walking towards a powerful spark of energy that just went off

"I haven't seen them either," he replied, glancing in the direction of Tinker, dispite the fact that he couldn't exactly see him. "If I see them, though, I'll let you know." He quickened his step to catch up with Alex and was soon walking next to him, matching him stride for stride.

"Hey, wait for me!" Tinker called, dragging a hunk of machinery behind him. "Friggin' block of..." He pressed several buttons, then just dragged it behind him. "Wait up!"

"I felt it," he replied, before turning his head slightly. Helle sighed, limping down the street with Alex. "And we're getting closer." He couldn't wait to take on the demons, and couldn't wait to feel the pure amazing ecstacy he alway felt when taking in a demon's power.

"Ah-hah!" Tinker exclaimed, finally getting his burden to hover. A nozel on one end openned, and whisps of smole whispered into the "night." This thing would give those freaks a what-for. "Hold on, I'm coming!" Geez, Cabalists...always on the move...

"Of course we are," Helle called back. "We're always looking for another demon to eradicate. If you want to take out as many as you can, you have to be after them as much as possible."

Helle nodded, smirking, and his hands suddenly stiffened into an almost clawlike possition. There was a faint crimson glow about them. "I'm always ready for a good demon fight."

"Good"Alex stopped at the door and exteneded a hand than with a pulse of magic blow the door in

"Hey, wai--oof!" Tinker ran, tripped, and landed flat on his face, his rifle digging into his gut. "Crap...aagh!" His machine hovered directly over him, filling his mouth with dust and hot vapors.

With a dark, eager snarl on his face, Helle lept in, his hands flying this way and that, tedrils of magic reaching out to ensnare the demons around him. He let the magic guide him, feeling for the demonic entities around him and offing them as fast as he could manage.

Shuddering with the pleasure of the absorbsion of the demons' power, Helle used the new power to lengthen his reach of demons.

After he finished Alex ensnared the demons Helle coudnt get or couldnt reach

Once all the demons had been taken down, Helle let himself collapse against a wall, still shivering with the pleasure of the new power. "God, that was good," he laughed.

Tinker jumped in, rifle raised. "Hi-ya!!! Uh..." He then noticed all the demons were dead, shrivled up, or broken into little pieces. "Damn it all!"

"i must agree been a long while since ive drained that much at once"picking his sword up and putting it into its scabard

He smiled, pushing himself up after a moment. "I love that feeling so damn much." Sweat dripped down Helle's neck and arms, but he didn't seem to notice. ((I have to depart for the night. Farewell for now))

With a sigh he got on his horse, though the Templar excepted him in to their ranks, he wasnt all that Holy and that meant they had to require him a few other things their faithful knights did not, such as forcing a steed on him. Beasts never did like him much, this he knew and this Warhorse was no different, snorting its displeasure with the weight of him and trying to nip his feet, but it never reered, it was taught better then that. ^Good luck sir, your request is to the north, a small fraction has been seen and we figure we would send one to disband it^
"yes Sir... on my way" he said, kicking the stuborn horse in to gear

Where a Templar trotted along, all Tinker saw was a good tag-along. He'd never been good at hosting his own show.
The cabalists were giving each other some strange looks. Like they were...planning something. "Say, uh, what do we do now?"

She sighed loudly and stopped following the girl, she didnt do anything anyway. She walked into the forest when she suddenly overheard some talking. She walked closer, spotting 3 people, 2 looked like cabalists, the third looked like some engineer or something. She heard the trampling of horse, and understood what the cabalists was going to do, she sneaked as close as she dared, then climbed up into a tree and watched. Finaly something interresting.

She heard a boy voice talking, but she didnt see anyone of the ones she was watching talk, so she assumed it was the rider of the horse. She jumped to another tree so she had clear view of the horse and its rider, but as a downside it might be a chance the cabalists had spotted her.

Sure the old finiky holy order was well, tough... but he served a purpose whose honor and code was failing with the arrival of the demons. He sat up taller at the thought, though not religous he had adiquit rights at the old church those few holy knights didn't.

He'd heard that Templar and Cabalists didn't get along--holy magic compared to Dark magic were polar opposites--but he doubted they'd actually attack. Humanity had enough issues without worries of a civil war on the verge of apocalypse.
So, confident he wasn't stepping into a firing range, Tinker stepped out into the street towards the knight on a black, burly, armored steed, his robotic companion hovering close behind. "Hey, are you Templar?"

the horse snickered at the sudden appearance, back stepping in its distrust now "hey! out of the road! whats it to ya!?" he said trying to get the horse to stop fidgeting "and I just got its trust to damnit!"

Tinker was offering a terse apology when his machine gave a chirp and spoke in a synthesized voice; "UNKNOWN ENTITY DETECTED. INHUMAN ORIGIN. INHUMAN SIZE. INHUMAN DNA SIGNATURE. SUBJECT RECLASSIFIED AS 'DEMONOID.' INITIATING DEMONOID TERMINATION SEQUENCE."
"Yikes!" Tinker kicked the machine. "No, you idiot, it's a horse! A HORSE!!" Even as he spoke, a valve openned on the machine that he recognized as the primary weapon chamber...

"Oi! what the heck is that thing!?" he said off the horse now as he tried to bring its head to shoulder level, the whites of its eyes showing as it whinnied in fear, large hooves moving about furiously

"Hey, boys! You need some help?" She shouted from the tree, and pulled up her pocket toolbox and held it up so they could see. This was funny for her.

Temple couldnt help it, she was cracking up. A machine mistaking a horse for a demon. THAT was the most amusing thing she had seen all day.

"Stop, dammit!" He was on top of it now, trying to close the valve. All the machine knew was that something was attacking it, and it was the "demon" it had identified. Down the barrel, Tinker saw blue radiate from within. "Crap..."
He pulled his head back an instant before white electricity roared from the openning.

"Hey, not cool!" he said as it singed his cloak as he rolled out of the way, the horse bolting off

Alex heard a blast and a horse run off he walked outside and saw the templar pulling out his swrd he held it under the templars neck and said "what do you want'

Helle stood next to him, and slightly behind him. He couldn't see, but he could figure out most of what was going on using his powers.

Sharlayne stood in the corner watching the scene in front of her carefully. She didn't know how to act in this situation, usually she's always so happy. Maybe this was her other self, or maybe she was just a bit scared.

"hey! remove that! I didnt do anything to warrant this! That guys gadget thing over there started talking and spooked my horse, Im just trying to get to my assignment up North" he said using the cuff of his glove to push the blade aside

She pushed off the wall and slowly approached the others, "Why all the hate?" she asked, her voice was somewhat cheerfull and innocent. In that instant Sharlayne felt as though the sad gloomy air around her immediately dispersed and she went back to her normal happy self.

"Lost in my own little world of course" Sharlayne muttered under breath then slowly took a step back.

"So I'm a Templar! What of it!? Im headed North to get rid of some demons that are bugging a sector of a church, dont like it fine but I have to go calm the horse down... AGAIN! It took me till now to get it even to let me steer!" he said harshly, pushing the blade down and using it as a boost up, almost an inch taller then the holder

"I know the difference...I don't understand emotion..." she spoke slow and in a monotone. Her eyes had dulled into a dark maroon color and her skin had paled a little more than usual.

"if you grew up as one of us you would understand....are you ok you look like your going to faint"Alex said then took a step closer just incase she fell

Her eyes strangely went from maroon to a golden topaz color in an instant, "Oh hi..um..." she looked around for a moment, "What happened here?"

Alex glanced at helle then looked back at The girl and said "Are you ok"

She nodded a bit. "Of course im fine" she stated with a small smile.

"If you don't mind, I'm gonna take a walk," Helle said softly, sighing. He was bored and restless, wanting to do something or other. He hadn't really a clue what the something was yet, though.

Helle loosened the cloth over his eyes, and then ran a hand through his hair. He turned towards Alex, stopping.

"Hmm...Nope, I just got here.." She said faintly.

alex felt something change within him he reachd back not being able to control himself punched Helle in the jaw

Sharlayne's eyes quickly turned into a deep sapphire blue. "Hey stop that!" She yelled.

Helle turned about his hand darting to the spot where he'd been punched. "What the hell was that for, Alex," he growled, his voice turning cold and venomus.

"Hey...what are your names?" She asked out of nowhere.

"You just punched me," he said, stll sounding amazingly angry. He was reminded vaguly of the time before he was a cabalist, back when he had been hurt very badly by those who should have been caring for them. That was what always happened when someone hurt in him any way.

He caught the cowering horses bridle before it bolted again, tugging down hard to keep it from seeing where to go "look, shush, its ok, it was a malfuntion, nothing will get you, I'll even leave you behind at the stables when we get there ok! just calm down, nothings wrong any more" he said trying the same technique his master had used on him back home when they had an attack, it helped to hear, he only hoped the horse would understand... which it did, its stamping protest quieted and it sunk its head in defeat "ok then, come on back to the road..." he said, leading it slowly back, glad it was halfway trusting now

"I'm Hellebore, Helle for short," he said to the girl, before turning back to Alex. "Yeah, you did." He pulled his hand away from his face, revealing a spot that was begining to turn purplish.

"why would i punch you the last thing i remember is when you said you was going for a walk"Alex looked at his armored hand and and saw a small dent

He sighed. "Don't ask me. I was getting ready to head off. I stopped because you'd turned towards me, and the next think I knw your fist as making aquaintances with my face."

Helle swallowed a bit of blood in his mouth, loosening the cloth around his eyes a bit more. His head was pounding now, and his jaw, ached. "Either way, we need to find out why it happened."

"i say we should hunt down the templar after we get you a demon of some sort you might need some energy to get rid of a headache if you get one"going back inside Alex scaned to see if they had missed any

Nodding, Helle followed. "That'd be a good idea." He stopped, sighing. It felt as if the cloth was tightening as he walked. "I hope gastly looking scars don't bother you much," he said soflty, untying the cloth and removing it from his face. The flesh around his eyes sockets was warped and tattered, and the sockets were empty.

with a leg in the stirup he hoisted himself up on the still moving horses back, getting settled as soon as he saw the road. Patting it between the ears, he sat tall in the saddle and moved his sword to the back of him

Helle nodded slightly, keeping silent. He couldn't help but lift a hand to lightly touch the scars.

At a slower pace, Helle followed after him, sensing the demon as well.

"Look out!" Tinker cried, hanging on for dear life. He clutched to his machine like a bungie cord on a mountain. He had no idea what this thing was doing--after it attacked the Templar, it bolted, him still on top of it, and ran around in tight circles before spotting people and racing off to greet them. The Cabalists and horse got closer with alarming speed.
"Clear out! Runaway drone!"

He looked behind him quickly as the man from before came flying down the road and he turned the horse who snickered and moved aside

She smiled in her tree, first had the cabalist blamed the other, and know they blamed the templar. Even tho it was her all the time, she wondered if they was going to hurt the templar. She had also used a distant programmer to mess whit the boys drone. She wondered if she was going to continue it or reveal herself. She decided to reveal herself for the boy. She jumped down and turned off the drone. Then said with a friendly smile; "Hello, useless drone i see? Thought you needed some help."
She hoped he wasnt smart enough to realise she had messed whit his drone and the cabalists.

The drone's insistant humming stopped and its running lights went out. Its momentum was undiminished, however, which meant that it was still able to fly forward, sink to the ground, and turn into a rogue pinwheel of metal. Tinker was thrown free and slammed into the nearest building.
Laughing cut through the stars he saw. Atleast someone was enjoying this...

She walked over to the boy who had suddenly got blasted into a building. When she walked she laughted. She stopped laughing and said, trying not to sound like she was enjoying this way to much; "Are you okay?"

Tinker rubbed his head, wiping away something wet. "Oof...did anyone get the number of that truck..?"

She smiled, and stretched out a hand to help him up while she said; "Im Lyrande, and you?"

"Tinker," he replied, slightly slurred. "Nice to meet you three..."

Sharlayne stood in the same spot, she debated whether or not she wanted to go outside or just wander off again. "Meh" She sighed.

While Tinker sat there dazed, his drone reactivated, rocketed away, and stopped an inch from Sharlayne's face. "PNEUGHT FEJELET JUBER."

Sharlayne blinked, her eyes slowly turning to a dull maroon color.

She quickly turned around and used the controler she had to hack the drones system, then she shut it down. "There, finally some piece. Do you know what her name is?" She asked Tinker, pointing at Sharlayne.

"FHEJELET NON SEQUITOR, NOW?" The machine seemed genuinly puzzled, staring at the girl with its one orb-like ''eye". It spoke only in latin, possibly due to a malfunction...the controller on the other side of the street only seemed to wreak havoc with its circuitry...

Sharlayne looked emotionless, she stared at the ground mumbling something to herself.

"Hm, either i gotta get this thing repaired, or your robot is really screwed up.." She said wondering, and walked over to the Sharlayne, then said; "Are you okay?"

Finding the demon Alex threw into a tree then steped aside and waited on helle

Helle smirked, knowing the demon was close, and shot out a tendril of his powers at it. The magic tenticles tore at the demon, tearing it's body to pieces.

"Ah, I love that feeling," he purred, drawing back the powers after the demon was dead. "That was quite a help."

"Horses," he scoffed, shaking his head. "If we must. I don't like the beasts, but I'll put up with one." He had never liked animals much, and riding one was something he'd never been fond of."

Helle nodded. "That would suit me better, if you don't mind doings so. I simply cannot stand most beasts, nor can they stand me. I"m more likely to get thrown off then to stay on."

Sharlayne decided it was time for her to wander off so she slowly made her way to the nearest door. Her eyes slowly turned back to their normal red color and she smiled faintly. "Today is such a weird day" She chirped and began to skip down the dark road.

"We're close, correct," he asked, drawing in a deep breath. "I smell civilization near." He could detect traces of smoke from fires, the smell of concentrated human life.

"How close? I can tell from scents that it's near, but I can't quite dicern physical distance."

Sharlayne started to twirl around in circles and without her knowing, a faint red glow began to form around her as she was twirling.

Tinker sat up at last, finally conscious. "Mmm...what, no breakfast?" He looked around. Where was everyone?
The little drone stared at Sharlayne for a while as she skipped in circles before blurting "VERDS!" and tearing off after her. It stopped, turned in place, and activated a flashlight into her face.

"Indeed it is," he said, sighing. "Nothings completely explainable. Even if we believe it is it might not be."

Helle crossed his arms, standing behind him. He feld a soft breeze blowing, but paid it no heed.

Feeling the breeze was like sucking demons one after the other he held his to the door and blew a dent in it big enough to fit though then he climbed though

Helle nodded, calling upon his powers as well. He felt the wonderful rush he always did when using them as he moved to stand next to Alex.

Spreading his mind Alex met with Helle their powers fusing Tenhe Casted his mind outward in search of life

Following, Helle began pondering how large the demon would have to be to do such damage. The thought made his heart race, and he desired greatly to see such a beast.

Sharlayne stopped dead in her tracks, she seemed a bit lost. "Anno...where was i going..?" She asked herself. It wasn't odd for her to be talking to herself, she had done it all the time.

Tinker whipped out his drone tracker, but found it missing. In fact, everything electronic he owned was missing. "Son of a *****! I got mugged by freakin demons!"
The drone, now officially rogue and out of control, hovered an inch above Sharlayne's head, moving as if it were an extension of her skull. "NON SEQUITOR," it chirped.
