It is the height of the American Civil War. The ground is stained with blood, the country is split in two, and everyone has taken a side. But what became of those looking to stay out of the way? Those who knew how to evade both the army's drafters? What became of the vampires during this time? Us? Oh, right and what is worse? The Rebels who are constantly ordered to look and capture us, or the Vampire Hunters who are twice as worse?

Raleigh, North Carolina. January 1st is where this story starts, in the dead of one of the coldest winters this land has seen.

Will we be cought in the middle of the brutal battles between the Yanks and the Rebs, or will we cause them? Will we take sides, or stay out of the way? Will we just feed and run, as it is in our nature?

This rp is an odd one. I just thought it'd be nice to do something different for a change. This is for the literate ONLY. I am basing this on the movie Cold Mountain, if you haven't seen it, look it up.

Bio: December was born in Ireland in the year 1527. He moved to the American colonies in the late 1660's and has lived there ever since. He is not the cruel sadistic vampire you always hear about. He's more of a vampire that drinks till they can still live and run. December is very talented, in that he's mastered the skills of combat and weaponry. He's strong. Really strong.

He remained on the streets, and once the war broke out he followed the army around and helped the north fight. He became known as the ghost. He is violent on occasion, but has a softer side for his baby sister. He is immune to garlic, and crosses, and day light. The sun light does not burn him but he does not like it at all. He was born into the being of a vampire, he finds joy in the hunt.

December's horse carried him through the bitter, icy snow and mud. No other Clydsdale around these parts. He was lucky to have such an animal. Tonight, that cold January night, he was in search of Allure. She used to hang around taverns in Raleigh; he'd check there first.
The Dark Rose was her favorite. December let November, his horse, rest after they're long run from Charlotte.
He struck a match and lit up a cigar, grasping his cane consealing his weapon and bursted through the bar's doors.
He did enjoy making an enterence.

Crispin was born in the year 1620 as the first born child to Vladimir and Margaret Delacriox. Vladimir was born of Romanian decent on his father’s side, while his mother was that of French nobles. He met and married the daughter of his father’s work associate, Margaret Darcy which resulted in Crispin’s birth. Being born into wealth as well as being the child of a noble, Crispin had whatever he wanted at a very young age. He was spoiled by his mother; and was treated as a prodigy by his father.

Well educated, Crispin was sought after by many, even though he was not yet considered a teenager. When he was twelve years old, his mother and father gave him a sister, one whose beauty seemed to surpass that of her own mother. Crispin was elated; he was given the job of protecting his sister and watching over her. Because of this, Crispin became very protective over his sister and he even grew close to her.

Crispin was set to marry the daughter of one of his father’s friends, when he was found by a vampire who found interest in him as well as his sister. Because Crispin was older, at the age of twenty two, the vampire named Adrian went after him first. Crispin was coming home from the opera, alone, when it happened. Adrian struck the driver of the carriage and killed him, causing the horses to grow skittish and the only way he kept them from running was by unfastening the carriage from the harness. Crispin had been armed and drew his sword to fight, only to have Adrian pounce on him and drain him to the point of death. The conversion was easy and surprisingly Crispin took to being a vampire extremely well. When Adrian went after his sister, Crispin did nothing to stop him, wishing for his sister to be just like him so they could be together. However, what he didn’t understand was that Adrian wished to take Selena on her wedding night, forcing her to feed on her husband as her first meal. The actions were fast and the three traveled together, until Selena realized she could live off the blood of animals and never hurt humans again. She hated Adrian for what he did and even found herself hating her brother for aiding him. This caused a rift to form between them and Selena left Crispin and Adrian, wishing to be on her own.

Crispin blamed Adrian for Selena’s departure and left his sire as well. He spent a few years looking for his sister and then upon finding her, they settled down as a family once again, creating a plantation.

Most of Selena's history is mixed with her brother's. She is sweet and caring and serves as the mistress of the plantation when her brother is out. With the war going on, she finds herself wondering if they should get involved or not, though her brother is very hesitant.

Halloween and Midnight sat in the tavern, and the loud entrance of the man, who seemed to be full of himself, wasnt liked by the two. They did not like both, loud noises and showoffy people. Halloween looked up from his beverage of choice, and a low, almost silent growls emmited from his throat.

December strutted in and took a seat taking a long drag on his tobbaco.
"Gin if ya don't mind." He begged of the matron.
This room was just pitiful. It was as though he were back in the old days when Tortuga was a drunks town. He did miss that.
He scratched the 'P' brand on his arm and took a swig from the hard liqure just handed to him.

"He is like us" Halloween whispered to his belovd sister. His tattoos were covered by his coat and bands, as well as his sisters few tattoos. He sensed it.

"A vampire?" Midnight asked her guardian, shocked "Or a pillager?"

"Both" Halloween said, a bit too loud. "I smell it, and I don't like it"

"I am both." He whispered appearing behind them.
"And its not nice to judge people you don't even know." December continued, swigging his gin and sitting with them for spite.

Sitting back into the back of the bar, Allure sat, being alluring as always but rejecting the advances of many. She wasnt the type to drink so she always got water.

"We aren't scared, just curious." Midnight said, and Halloween glaired at her. Obviously she had spoken out of order.

"We are allowed to think what we want." Halloween practically snarled.

"I don't care. Think what you wish." He said, a smile clenching his cigar.
He noticed Allure.
"Excuse me Halloween, Midnite."
He begged getting up and approaching her.
"Everytime i see you i must complement your amazing attire. I love your dress." December informed, taking a seat next to her, finishing his gin.
"How are you?" He began, not forgetting the last time they'd met almost lead to sex.

"I dont like him at all" Halloween said standing up. Midnight followed but kept her eyes on the unusual man.

"I find him intriguing(sp)" She whispered honestly. "Why must we go brother dearest" She asked, bagging to stay a bit longer.

"No!" Halloween muttered harshly.

"Thank you. . . . " Allure said, looking up at the handsome vampire.
"I must always complemnt yours as well. Nice outfit," she said, taking a sip of water. Allure promised herself to be more careful than what she was last time.

Crispin and Selena rode upon their horses into town. They were part of the wealthy land owners and everyone knew they were french, though where they were originally from, no one knew. They stopped at the tavern and Crispin slid off his horse and then moved to help his sister down before they moved into the tavern and noticed there seemed to be many vampires, though that was not becoming to be too strange.

Mdnight and Halloween finally made it to some inn. Once they were settled, Midnight waited for her brother to fall asleep. She wasn's tired, just cuious. Soon, she drifted out into the almost dawn, she didn't like the sun, but this may be worth it. She had never met any vampire like the one she me today. And she thought that she may meet more. She ran from the inn to the tavern. On her way in she ran into a man, long blond hair and blue eyes.

"Yes," she said, laughing lightly. "I had to drag you home once," she told, remembering.

December burried his red face in his hands. He too remmbered the time he'd gotten sooooo wasted that he saw purple dots.
"Oh, good times. To bad this dreadful war is clogging our time to spend with each other." December proclaimed, sipping his water.

Crispin stumbled slightly when a girl ran into him and Selena looked at him. "Brother, are you alright?" Crispin nodded his head as he looked down at the girl before him. "You should watch where you are going." His voice was cold and deep as he spoke.

Serenity narrowed her eyes and was about to speak to the girl when her brother spoke up. "Clearly I am not standing in the middle of the road, and you should watch who you speak to with that tone." He showed his fangs in an intimidating manner.

"I'm not scared of you" She bared her fangs as well. "I didnt mean to run into you, and you are right I wasn't paying attention, but I don't care how high on the food chain you are, you can always be cut down."

Allure got on like a lady then looked from the girl to December. "You're being summoned. . . " she said, then giggled softly. If this vampire could tell she was a vampire, she'd be VERY impressed. . . Not many vampires knew she was one until they saw her feed.

December cranked his head to the left, a snicker on his lips.
"Yeeeeees?"

"Mrs." Midnight said "You are one of us too, no? I dont mean to assume if you are not, its just a feeling."

"I apologize for my brothers actions, he is outspoken and rather prideful." She replied to the man.

"No offense taken my dear. Anyone who as ever been to Singapoor would know that. I'm December by the way. I already know who you are." December announced with a smile.

"Ah yes, it is a pleasure to meet you" She said. "I have never met that many of my own kind"

December leaned in closer to her.
"Then you're not looking hard enough. Our kind is literally everywhere." He smiled and turned to Allure.
"Tortuga?"

"If this conversation is quite done." Allure said bluntly, and almost rudely - which was unlike her- beginning the ride toward food and fighting.

"Yah!" December shouted, kicking November in the side, setting her off down the dirt path, escaping the enemy soilders.

"I am sorry if i offended you" She said looking away. Halloween ran up to Midnight and grabbed her arm "Where the hell have you been?" He commanded. His hand leaving a bruise on her arm. "I came to apologize for your rude manners and explore, now let go of me!" She shrieked. Halloween did not let go but held on tighter. He then began to practically drag her away with him.

December turned around immediatly.
He came to a halt and dismounted drawing his pistol.
"Let the lady go." He demanded pointing at the male's head. Sure, the bullet wouldn't kill him, but it would leave him a vegetable.

"I will not!" Halloween replied pointing his pistol at December. "She is my sister and she did not follow my orders, she could have gotten hurt"

"Ah so just because she's your sis, you really think she's your property? Your b1tch? You an a22." December said holstering his pistol.
"I hope the Yanks kill you a22" December spat, mounting November again, looking at Allure.
"Lets go. " He said, galloping off again.

"I am her guardian" He replied

"If that is how i must act I will" He argued, still holding onto his sisters arm. Tears were flowing down Midnights face.

December flipped Halloween the middle finger as he rode away.

"I'll be back for you Midnite!" He shouted.

Halloween let go of his sister and walked off. "Traitor" he called over his shoulder.

Midnight ran after her brother. "I'm sorry, please forgive me" He said looking at him, then over her shoulder. Halloween brushed her off and kept walking.

"Allure?" December asked as they slowed to a trot.

Allure road in a circle, riding next to Midnite. "Come with me?" she offered, which was also unlike her. Allure held out her hand, her aura practically daring Halloween to do something. If there was one thing she lived up to: as beautiful as she was deadly.

December had returned, standing close to Allure.

"But Halloween" Midnight pleaded looking at the lady, she was beautiful. A true vampire. Midnight envyed her but wanted to be like her.

"Will my brother be ok?" She asked, looking in the direction he went. "I would love to go, but my brother...."

Allure kept her hand out, keeping her eyes on the girl.

"He seems to have his affairs sorted out. Trust me. Take her hand. Its a better life where we are going." December informed, anticipating the Yanks at any moment.

Midnight looked at the direction of her brother, then at her arm. "Ok" she agreed with half a smile, and tool Alure's hand.

Allure pulled her up on her horse. "Hold on." she warned, taking off.

Midnight held on. This was surly an adventure for her.

Halloween sat in a hidden ally, drunk. He knew he shouldnt have done that to his sister, but he felt teritorial. He took another swig from his flask.

As November trotted along beside Allure, December was in a drunken haze. The shattering thunder of a shotgun shaked him out of it. He could feel both an extreme pain in his chest and a cool breeze.
He looked down at the gaping hole in his chest that was big enough to put a grapefruit through.
"Oh dam#."

Midnight stared at November. "What the hell?" she asked. The lound shot shook her from her daze. she looked around as her eyes changed to a deep red with a violet ring.

December looked up from his chest.
"Dam^ Yanks. Urgh....this was my favorite shirt too." He complained ripping it off his torso.

Allure blinked. So someone shot December. Allure picked Midnight up and put her with December as she went, charging, into battle with her sword held high and dodging bullets. Yes, she was mad.

"This is one of those battles where she'll kill anyone in her way. We'd better not get involved in it." December told Midnite, holding up a pair of eyeglasses to get a better view of the mahem.

Midnight jumped off of the horse, "I love a good fight" She purred then rushed into the battle, reveling two knives from her corset. She slashed anyone possibly in her way. Adrinalin pumping.

"What the h3ll." December announced, grabbing his bluderbuss, pistol and strapping his sword to his hip. He accrobatted his way off November, and sprinted into the crowd of blue coats, shooting as he pleased.

Midnight was blind in rage and didnt realize what was going on. This only happend when Halloween wasnt there. The killed mercilessly. She didnt even realize when she was facing off against December.

"HEY!" December shouted, stripping her weapon and raising his blunderbuss to her face.
"The kicking of my @ss is Allure's job! Kill the blue coats!!!" She rage, tossing her her weapon.
He then cleared several area's with his trusted bluder. Oh, how he loved that early shotgun.

Allure was doing just that, in a dress too. It wasnt every day you saw a woman in a dress on the battle field. But, hey, whatever works. She saw that the girl was squaring off against December and laughed, knowing December's a*s, literally and non for how many times she saved it, belonged to her.

"So sorry" she said, "didnt know what the heck was happening" she took her weapon and began to clear areas of people and replace the area with corpses and blood. Her eyes returning back to their red and violet. The fight coursing through her veins.

After a long, cold, bloody hour, December stood in front of a mound of corpses. His shirtless chest was dripping with a thick maroon liquid. He licked what he could away from his hands. This would be the only meal he would have for a while. He was heading towards the Marina by dawn.
He sheathed his sword and strapped his pistol and blunderbuss to November and joined his two female companions.
"Well ladies. H3ll of a day don't you think?"
And as the words escaped his lips, flakes of white precipitation floated down from the heavens. With in moments, the snow had stuck to the ground and to his still bare skin.
"Fantastic. Shall we find an Inn to rest for the evening Allure?"

Midnight took one of the dead calvery's horses as well as several rapiers. She liked close battles, not fire arms. She mounted up and followed her new friends. The snow was beautiful, her eyes changed and matched the color or the white flakes, a black ring around the iris and her pupil the only darkness in her eyes. Crimson splattered her face, clothes and coated her hands.

"Yes, but give me a moment." she requested, walking over to Midnight.
"Midnight," she attempted.

"Yes?" She asked. She was ready to leave, ready no not follow them. She felt like she wasnt wanted. Her eyes changed to a soft grey then darker.

"Time to go," she said softly, then turned around and glided -so it seemed- back to December.

Midnight nodded, she turned around and rode to the inn where Halloween was.

December turned to Alllure.
"Do you happen to know where another shirt of mine is?" He asked, freezing to death in the cold. (good thing he was already dead.)

Midnight rode back to Alure and December. "Thanks....i guess" she said "Halloween is a bit possesive and you helped me that time. so thanks" She the turned back around and rode back to the inn.

"You and your brother may stay with us," Allure offered after denying December's question.

"May we? Thatd would be very genorous, i will have to ask Halloween" She said. Riding toward where Halloween might be.

"Dam#." December cursed, mounting November, ripping a shirt off one of the slaughtered and draped it around his shoulders.
"In deed he's welcome....long as he don't run his big mouth...I'm cool." December informed, moving his horse closer.

"Just tell him to watch it, he responds rather nicely to threats." Midnight smirked revealing on of her fangs.

December rolled his eyes and smiled, forming his own razors in his mouth.
"Very well."

Soon, Halloween and Midnight arrived at where December and Alure were. Halloween really drunk. He mumbled and babbled and muttered random nonsense. Midnight was pissed. She didnt like being her brothers caretaker when he got like this, but she got through it.

Allure got up and picked Halloween up. "I will take care of him." she stated bluntly.

"You're such a generous soul." December cooed, smiling at his long time best friend. He followed the others in to the Inn, paying the misstress twenty dollars in Confederate cash. It would get them up to four days. Not that they needed that many.

"So howd you two meet?" midnight asked coming up behind December.

December tickled his noodle for a moment.
"How did me and Allure meet?"

"Yes" She replied, watching her feet.

December faced Allure.
"Do you remember?"

"You think I can remember that far back?" she asked, smirking.
"We met when we were children. We grew up together. He got turned first, then I got turned." Allure said, giving the clif notes version and the answer to her own question.

"Oh i see" Midnight said "You were turned?"

"Either that or we were natural born and our bodies were sucuming to the virus inside of us." Allure said, checking on Halloween.

December nodded, "Yes, oh, too long to remember." He announced, falling into the inn's matress, proping his feet up, finally warming up a bit.
"Been almost everywhere as well. Where are you all from?" December questioned.

"Italy, and well all around" Midnight said, watching December.

"Ah the old country...how i do miss the bright Sicilian moons." December remenissed, smiling.

Midnight frowned a little. "I guess" she said quietly. He was right it was a beautiful place, but L'Aquila was a violent place and only bad memories were where she had lived.

December lit a cigar and relaxed on the mattress.
"So...how'd you get your name?" December asked, while dragging his tobacco.

"Preaching to the choir, my friend. My father had originally wanted to name me Christmas, cause I was born on Christmas morning, but thank God for my mother. She saw that it was an odd name. I enjoy the name December." He admitted, puffing out smoke.
He pointed to Allure.
"Don't even get her started on how she got her name."

Midnight sat on the floor, keeping an eye on the both of them. She admired them, December somewhat reminded her of Halloween. She frowned slightly. "Ok, i wont" she sighed.

December extinguished his cigarrette.
"So...How did you find yourselves in this neck of the woods?" He questioned, simply curious.

"Halloween brought me here to, well follow the war and try to keep me safe" she said, looking at the ground.

December looked at Midnite. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, im fine" Midnight said looking at December.

Allure chuckled at the comment about her name. It was true - dont ask.

As Allure chuckled, December rose and kissed her forehead as he poured himself a glass of gin.

Midnight looked at the ground. She had once had a love. He was a Union soldier. He was killed, and Halloween had pulled her away from the battle field. Jacob was calling to her, then a bullet went through his chest, and he fell.

"Are you positive you are well?" December inquired, concerned.
He didn't wait for a reply because he had already heard her thoughts.
At the grim resonance, he twitched.

"Yeah, I'm perfectly fine" she said standing up.

"Well, I don't know about any of you, but I'm pooped. Allure? Come to bed with me?" December offered, climbing into his bed leaving the covers open for her. This was not a sexual time. They had shared beds since they were infants. It was second nature to them to keep each other warm at night. It was one of the sweetest things they did for each other.

Midnight looked at them. She slightly smiled then layed down on the foor looking at the cyling. Her smile faded and her eyes shut.

"In this dress? You must be dreaming," she pointed out. Her dress wasnt exactly sleeping material.
"I'm going to find something to change into," she told, going out the door and out and about to a shop for something else to change into.

"That's Allure for you. Can't sleep in anything unless it's sleepwear, or her birthday suit." December joked, rolling over beneath the covers. He would lie awake until Allure returned.

"I see" Midnight mummbled. She drifted deeper into sleep.

Halloween hunted his sister down. He was a wreck without her. He found the inn and knocked on December's door. Alcohol was thick on his breath as well as tebbaco.(sp)

December moved towards the door and creeked it open enough to see out with.
"My Allure how you've changed." He joked, remembering this bloke from eariler.
"Can i help you sir?" December inquired.

Halloween looked at December "My sister with you?" He slurred.

"Your sister? And her name is...?" December inquired, only keeping the door open enough for he to see out of.

"Midnight, her name is Midnight..." He said, continuing to slur.

"Um, Midnite dear? Theres a drunk here to see you." December announced, licking his lips at the bitter cold outside.

Allure came back, wearing a nightgown she bought for just a little bit. She was carrying her dress in her arm when she saw Halloween.

Midnight mumbled a little, but was deep in sleep.

Halloween just stood there, playing no attention to the cold or Alure. Just stareing blankly at December.

"Ah, Allure. Please get you booty back in here." December said, opening the door for her, using his mind to prevent Halloween from entering.
"Apparently, she's slumbering. You'll have to come back later sir." December retorted with a smile.

Allure nodded and made her way inside, putting her dress asside and getting into bed.

December slammed the door in Halloween's face, surely smashing his nose.
"Nut." December insulted shaking his head, climbing beneath the sheets and hugging Allure.
"Good Night." He told her, kissing her forehead.

Midnight woke up abruptly when the door was slammed. "What the hell was that?" She said startled.

Halloween's nose was smashed. He rested his head against the door, just staying there, stareing at the door.

"I attempted to wake you, but your brother was at the door." December drolled, rolling over on his matress.

December focused his mind on the wooden door and wreched it open where the drunken brother still slouched.
"Ask him yourself."

Halloween looked up, and out of no where vomited up the contents of his stomach, then passed out.

Midnight watched her brother with a frown on her face and worry in her eyes.

Allure sighed heavily. Why did she have to be the one that always made peace with people? She got out of bed and walked over, stepping over the vomit, and grabbed Halloween by his collar, dragging him into the room.
"Deal with it," she stated to December before he even had the chance to protest.

Midnight smiled faintly at Halloween, December, and Alure. "Thank you" she hispered to Alure.

December wasn't protesting whatsoever; not only did he know it was no use, but he was already in a dead sleep.
The morning dragged on and entered the evening hours just before twilight.
Finally, December smelled the moon approaching and drug himself from the sheets, stepping over the vomit mess from the drunk that had entered the room earlier.
As it was his start of night ritiual, he poured himself a glass of whiskey as he slipped on midnight black clothing and a traping cape, strapping his sword to his hip.
Gulping down his alcohol, he shook his head and pursed his face. Placing his bowl hat atop his head, he strutted outside without a sound to tend to his horse.

Midnight was outside looking into the darkness. She looked at December when he made his way outside.
