Personality: she's very quiet and shy when she isn't talking about something important. She hates large crowds and loves to read. She's amazingly loyal to those who get close enough to be considered friends, and is incredibly unused to a lot of things.

History: Kit has been raised knowing her job is to kill the most dangerous, powerful man in the world - the dark lord. She's always been very small for her age, and when she hit four feet as fara s anyone can tell she was cursed to stay that way. She's terrified of large crowds because they always want her, and tends to be very shy at times because nobody ever wants to just talk to her. now she's starting her journey, she's almost constantly focused.

Personality: Mercia is very calm and collected on the outside and it seems she is rarely phased by anything but that isn't the truth. Mercia is actually very a very worried person and scared to fail at any of her missions. She is very young to be a guard but they let her be one due to this drive not to fail.
Weapons: Daggers and a bow.
Gifts: Clairvoyance, telepathy, and control over plants.

Mercia was born in a big city to Lord and Lady Wyndham so from a young age she was taught to be a Lady and a Knight. She is an only child and thus hasn't a clue on how to act when someone stays in her room with her. She prefers to stay alone but she will not fail her mission!

Kit paced back and forth, her cloaked figure almost impossible to see over her horse's back. She was waiting on whoever was assigned to travel with her, though she hoped it was one of her few friends.

Mercia was late, yet again for her assignment. What was it? Oh yes
to protect and travel with Lady Tearmunn. God help her to get there on time! Mercia thought as she ran out the door and into the street, looking for the girl.
Finally a figure in a black cloak who was exceedingly short was visible, with two horses that made her look even smaller.

Mercia quickly walked over, adjusting her outfit while walking. When she arrived she bowed demurely and asked. "Are you Lady Tearmunn?" She had already heard of the size curse so she wasn't to surprised.
"Yes. who are you?" the voice was definately that of someone young - she shook her head, and her head at least was visible.

"I am Mercia Wyndham, your traveling companion and guard." Mercia stated as she looked up at the girl. "Would you like something to eat before we leave?"
The girl shook her head, offering a sausage roll. "I remembered to eat."
She whispered soemthing to her horse, then carefully and rather clumsily mounted. "lets go."

"Yes Mi'Lady." Mercia answered as she grabbed a hold of the saddle and swung herself up. "Where to?"
Kit looked at her. "Right now e're going to northwalk.." She said softly. "Then.. well, it depends on the elders." she shuddered slightly. She started her horse moving, going through the gates. the guards waved, and she waved back.

Mercia nodded and followed beside Lady Tearmunn. She was watching the road and the shrubs for possible attackers.
Kit was looking ahead, very quiet. she seemed so different from the rumors.

Mercia didn't listen to rumors so she didn't know. "Lady Tearmunn, how far north?"
"About a mile or so." Kit said, looking over.

Mercia nodded and looked straight ahead. She didn't want to talk much as that would attract to much attention.
Kit started humming faintly, a little zoned out.

Mercia sighed but didn't say a word. It was soft humming so maybe an enemy wouldn't hear it.
Kit suddenly started giglging - softly, but giggling.

"What's funny Lady Tearmunn?" Mercia asked as she looked over.
"The horses. They keep wondering why we arn't speaking." Kit said quietly. "they're used to louder calvary men."

"Ah." Mercia said as she petted her horse gently smiling. "What are they're names?"
"Jenna and Halbrusk." Kit said. "They said that there's so much wildlife, it's getting annoying." she shrugged. The sun was getting stronger as morning came closer.

"The plants agree, but they say that they're are minions of the Dark Lord about." Mercia stated as she pushed the horse into a gallop. "Hurry Mi'lady."
Kit nodded, then made herself small as her own horse followed.

Mercia prayed they'd get to the place they were supposed to go quickly.
They didn't. Tehw arriors rolled out into the road.
Kit screamed out something, creating a painful flash of light.

Mercia covered her face and whimpered lightly. She didn't want to fight this early in the morning!
The horses started to run again as kit kept the spell going, firing bow and arrows at them as the horses ran. Her eyes were slightly panicked, but she did what she'd been taught to do.

"Hurry up Lady Tearmunn." Mercia yelled out as she fired arrows as well.
"I"m going!" She snapped.
Then the road behind them exploded, taking the remaining fighters with them. Kit slumped over her horse's neck for a moment, fighting for conciousness. Three spells at once hurt.

"Lady Tearmunn we are stopping till you regain strength!" Mercia ordered as she brought her horse to a stop and grabbed a hold of the Lady's reins.
Kit made a rather crabby noise. "m fine." she insisted, though she was holding very tightly to her saddle.

"Somehow I doubt that Miss." Mercia stated as she got off her horse and lead both horses into the forest. She needed to keep the Lady safe as well.
Kit said something rude - not obscenely so, but it was the sort of language you would expect from a soldier.

"Ma'am you shouldn't speak like that. What would your betrothed think?" Mercia joked as she picked the Lady up off of her horse.
"my betrothed can go mate with a horse's ass." Kit said crabbily. "He's about as intelligent as one." this was, in fact, a very true assesment.

"So I'm not the only one stuck with that problem." Mercia muttered as she gathered some fire wood and some stuff for a quick lunch.
Kit nodded. "If I can, i'm getting outo f it somehow.." Her grouchy glare was enough to scare of anyone, really. She rubbed her eyes, seeming so much younger than she was.

"I have a plan to get out of mine but I need a male or something." Mercia stated as she looked over at the Lady. "You want to sleep? The won't expect us for a few days due to my over cautiousness."
Kit made a face. "Far as i'm concerned, all men are useless.." she said, leaning on a tree and pulling her cloak closer around her. She was falling asleep talking..

"Well since I want children the aren't exactly useless but sadly I don't want to marry one." Mercia whispered as she made a bed for the Lady. "Here's a bed for you."
Kit was already asleep on the tree, slumped over slightly.

Mercia sighed and picked the Lady up carrying her over to the bed and laying her down in it. "Sleep well. We'll start moving in a few hours again."
Kit actually started to snuggle Mercia, and held onto her when she tried to pull away.

Sighing Mercia sat down beside the Lady and held her, unsure of what to actually do in such a situation. "You know little Lady your going to have to learn to be more attentive."
the sleeping young woman didn't reply, just slept. she'd probably wake up in an hour.

Mercia just sat there and laid down beside the girl, awake and listening just laying there. Soon though she'd have to wake the girl up.
Kit woke up a little while later, blinking. She rubbed her eyes, then started to try and make them both lunch.

Mercia got up and rolled the blankets and pillows up, stuffing them back into one of the saddle bags. She wanted to ignore the smell of burning food for as long as possible.
It was actually the scent of burning wood - Kit pressed the toasted ham and cheese into Mercia's hand, eating the oher as she carefully resaddled the horses.

Mercia looked down at the sandwich in her hand and ate it silently. She needed to work carefully if she was going to help the little Lady. "So Lady, we'll be there in a week or so."
"I wish they'd let me just fly.." kit said sulkily.

Kit made an annoyed sound, then streatched out on her horse's back. She was short enough she could. She started to watch the clouds.

Kit rolled her eyes, then little bits of fire started dashing around Mercia like fireflys.

Mercia sighed and ignored the fire. She might be an only child but she was raised around lots of men and children. She didn't understand much about this though.
Kit let them die out, just staring up at the sky. She didn't really like people on the whole, and she was so tired of everyone around here being serious...

Once there Mercia got off of the horse and stripped. Then she got into the water and sat down on a rock there.
Kit stripped down to her undergarments and dived in, a look of bliss on her face. she looked like she could be some sort of sprite, there underneath the water.

Mercia smiled and watched then she blushed 'cause the undergarments where white and thus she could see...everything.
Kit seemed oblivious to this - she was simply enjoying the water. It was enchanting, how much she seemed to enjoy it. she may be a hero, but you had to wonder if maybe she was growing up too fast.

Mercia just decided to let the girl have fun. Screw the elder lords she wanted the little girl to have fun.
She seemed so young at sixteen, but then again, she had fought like a girl in her twenties or thirties. It was strange, like they had forced her to grow up in some ways and forbid her in others.

"I've already had them this month." Kit smiled at her. It was the middle of the month. She swam over and propped her hands on the rock, looking like a little mermaid almost.

Kit made a face, getting up onto her horse. She had enjoyed actually having a day to goof off, and be something other than a hero.

And it was even on the way. Kit smiled, holding onto her horse, as they rode. She could feel people ahead, but they seemed rather drunkenly happy.

"They arn't going to give chase." Kit said, gritting her teeth. "If we get by fast enough, they won't even think we're what they want." She shuddered as they drew closer,.

Mercia didn't like going fast so she just kept the horse at a regular run. Hopefully they got away from this place soon.
They practically flew through, considering, adn slowed as Kit felt them getting farther away. she was shaking, clinging to her horse's mane.

Kit shook her head, curling up on the floor a little ways away. she just wrapped herself in a cloak,not wanting to wrestle with her bedding.

"No touchy!" Mercia exclaimed as she scooted over away from Kit. She'd been to doctors for cures. No cure...she'd die eventually and that's why her mother and father wanted to breed her, so they could get the grandkids.
Kit growled. "Yes touchy." she lunged, managing to touch her.
She let the information flow a she proceeded to fall off her horse, forcing herself limp so she wouldn't damage anything.

Mercia reacted quickly and jumped off her horse to check on the girl. She told the girl not to touch her! She didn't want the girl to know!
((What does she have, so that Kit can know and be all freaky about trying to fix it?))
Kit was staring at the sky, having bumped her head slightly. She was a tad confused.

"Yes Kit." Mercia said as she ruffled the girls hair slightly.
((accidental healing, but not now... on thier way to the evinless, Kit's going to faint... when she's unconcious, things happen. XD She's already sort of helping when she sleeps.))
Kit sat up slowly, rubbing the back of her head. "I would like to note that tehre was a rock there." she said, feeling her new goosegg.

"Oh! I'm sorry! Do you have a concussion?" Mercia asked.
"no, just a headache." Kit said. She frowned, then stood up. "See, I'm fine!"

"Somehow I doubt that." Mercia stated with a sigh.
Kit made af ace, then scrambled up onto her horse. It reached around and kicked her knee, and she smiled. "I'm fine." she told it, hugging it carefully around the neck.

Mercia just sighed again and climbed onto her horse. This was, totally interesting, the girl was danger prone.
Kit smiled as her horse headed off again, following Mercia's. She fell quiet after a long moment, working the healing on herself slowly. shek new going fast would exaust her, or, even worse, make it obvious what she'd been doing in her sleep to Mercia.

Mercia looked back, shook her head, and said nothing. Let the girl do what she wanted. Kit needed freedom and Mercia knew that.
Kit fell into a pleasent half-doze as they rode, not really paying attention. nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and she'd be woken by the emotions of anyone about to attack.

Mercia slowed down to ride beside Kit in case the girl fell off.
Kit had good balance- plus her horse was careful not to loose her. she liked animals, and they knew it.

Mercia smiled slightly and watched the girl sleep. If only the world could be that peaceful before she died.
Kit was pretty, beautiful. she gave off an aura of pure life - so much spirit in such a little body..
