Medieval Crusades
Back in our world's history there was a time when horses where main transportation and damsels where real. Knights fought and died for kings. Granted there where never any dragons to speak of but there where those who fought in the Lords name. They where knights, Crusaders if you will.
There is when our story takes place. In a small area nowadays called Hamburg, Germany. A lord reigned and people seemed alright. Times where not miserable but not that great either. A lovely maiden and boy grew up together in this place they called home. Each one friends until the boy grew up and was taken away before he was a man to be a crusader. Torn apart by thir fate. Now years later he returns just passing through.

(Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you made this until just now! So, how do we want to do the character template? And what style of picture do we want to use, or do we just want to go with descriptions?)

Name: Sigiswald Christian Kriemhild
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Back Story: Sigiswald was a small boy in a middle class society in Hamburg. His parents from day one had been making sure he would be ready to go into the kings service. He trained during the day and in the afternoon when his parents did business with the Albrecht he watched and played with their little girl, Liesel. He was charmed by how she always followed him around and wanted to be near him. He visited often and pleased everyone, knowing what his future was to be. He did much to please those around him. He helped with his families business until it was time to go. But when the crusades came, Sigis's world changed. He had prepared for the king's military not for a crusade. He found himself traveling to the holy land and far away from what he called home. He often thought back on that little girl he knew and now that he thinks about it loved. He wishes that he could have stayed but finds this life quite interesting as well. He too wonders whether he will see her again when orders come through to visit his home town or go through it at least. He hopes he might get to see see Liesel once more.

(Sorry this took so long.)
Name: Liesel Brigitta Hamprecht
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Back Story: Liesel was originally born Liesel Albrecht, in the city of Hamburg. The daughter of a merchant, she was one of the many burgeoning middle classes steadily on the rise, in this world they lived in. Their life was a bustling one; she helped out in the household, like her sisters, attended dances, made friends. One such friend was a young man ten or so years older than herself, Sigiswald. In fact, the young Liesel had quite a case of hero worship with the older boy, toddling about after him everywhere from her earliest years. Thankfully for her, he tolerated her presence.
Sadly for her, though, her youthful infatuation- for such did it evolve into- was not apparently fated to bear fruit. Her young friend became a fighter, joining the holy forces to go out on one of the many Crusades to the holy land.... Time passed. At the age of seventeen, Liesel married, the son of one of her father's business partners, Wolfgang Hamprecht. Her marriage was pleasant enough, even if there was more fondness than outright love there. Sadly, her husband's life was taken three years ago, by a plague that swept through the city. Somehow, Liesel survived.
She also found herself in the odd position of operating her husband's business. For the first few months it was almost a kind of limbo, as everyone around waited to see if she was to give birth to an heir for said business. When such proved not to be the case, the "official" heir was her former husband's brother. Said brother, however, was a man of the cloth, and therefore not interested in running a business, nor able. So Liesel runs it ostensibly in his stead, though they both know that it's hers.
Still, sometimes Liesel thinks about her old childhood friend. Wonders where he's been, if he's safe and well. Also wonders if they'll ever meet again.

(( Sorry mine is short and not so good, I have been dead tired of late and can't really get any sleep. ))
Sigiswald and his small unit were trotting along the dirt road, his home town in sight but still far off. He wanted to just go gallop on in and see how his family was and try and find Liesel. But he was trained better than that, he just sat upon his mare. But as time wore on doubts started to creep into his mind, Liesel had probably forgotten about him and married and had kids galore, his family probably thought he died and the rest of the Albrecht family had forgotten him as well. And then of course Sigiswald had to think that even though that may have happened he would be alright, maybe it was for the better, after all he was still fighting the holy war and didn't really know when he would be free to come home again. His light dappled mare snorted out of boredom and he could understand the drone of just going at a walking pace for most of the day was dull. The had trotted up until about an hour or so ago. Then it was to be a proud march they said, none looked to proud.

(Aw, I hope you're able to soon.)
Liesel sighed. Dusk was falling, and still so much was to be done.... The stores had to be finished being taken- there were still more sacks and barrels to take note of, and then the books to be done, as well as things around the home.... Yes, Liesel was able to employ a couple servants, but not enough to do everything. She wasn't wealthy enough for that, even being the unofficial owner of a spice mercantile.
Yet still, Liesel found herself just... looking out the window. Watching. Wondering. Especially about one particular individual.... Sigiswald. Where was he? What was he doing? Was he even still alive, or had he fallen in some anonymous battle against the supposed "infidels" in those mysterious eastern lands of sun and sand? If he did still live, did he miss home?
What Liesel was of course deliberately not wondering was whether or not he missed her. Which was ridiculous. They hadn't seen each other since she was just a girl, barely passed into adolescence; marriageable, yes, but only by the smallest margin. No doubt he couldn't even recall her name, if he remembered her presence at all. After all, one heard stories about mysterious, dusky women in those far-off places, with velvet eyes and silken limbs and knowledge of decadent arts no good Christian woman had even heard of....
Now you are being ridiculous. Liesel shook her red-gold hair off her face. Yes, a widow, like a married woman, ought to bind her locks back. But Liesel's hair had always had a life of its own, and escaped its morings quickly enough that she only wore it up when in business meetings and the like. Otherwise, she left it unbound.
But all this woolgathering was getting nothing done. Liesel had best finish going over her stock and then check her books. After that, then return to her empty and, on nights like this, rather lonely home. Sometimes, Liesel wondered if she ought to marry again.... But her heart wasn't in it. Even though she felt lonesome, none was right for her. Her first husband had been a practical alliance. For another one, Liesel wanted only the best. And right now, she was determined not to attach a face- one face in particular- to that notion/

(( well thank you and yet again I seem to have gone to disgrace by your wonderful writing. ))
Sigiswald let the pounding of hooves fill his ears as, the slow march continued on. The town loomed only a little closer it seemed, although word had been passed around that it would be a half hour or so. He didn't believe it or wouldn't believe it until he was there at the gate. The plodding droned on and on. His chain-mail so heavy and warm, and to include his helm on top of it all he felt like he was about to fry in what he was wearing, but he did have to admit it was much better than out in the sand and sun beating down upon him. If they were much later in the cooling night he would rather enjoy the warmth of the metal.
Sigiswald, tried to imagine what Liesel would look like now, she had been so small when he had last seen her, almost gold hair and so fair skinned, even the other women he had seen could not compare, although most the other men begged to differ. And those playful eyes, he couldn't remember their color but he knew when she was happy and sad, it was like seeing into her soul. And her lady like manner always so sheepish around him, except when they played or he asked for her help. Youthful and vibrant it how he remembered her. Now she might look so much different as he knew he must look completely different to his friends and family by now.

(You're welcome! For now, though, just relax and have fun. :))
Liesel worked over her books well into the evening. It was almost completely dark by the time she set out for home. Liesel didn't worry about safety; Hamburg was a secure city, at least in the neighborhood where she and her business both dwelled. In fact, her home was only a few blocks from the store itself, for ease of transition. Besides, her deep green cloak helped her blend in with the shadows nicely.
The woman stepped around some refuse in the street as she made her way along the path. Strange, was that hoofbeats in the distance? At the very edge of hearing, so faint she thought she might be overlooking it. Liesel paused, listening. Wondering who it might be. Guards? Returning soldiers? Liesel tamped down a little flip of excitement at that thought. She truly was being abusrd tonight....

Finally the gate was only mere feet away now. Sigiswald smiled. Most welcomed them with open arms, and the church was always more than willing to have them. He was home now, even if it didn't feel like home anymore. Sigiswald followed the unit. They were to come this way rest a day and then meet back up with the company. Maybe in those few days of rest he would find everyone once more. They began crossing a nice part of town. Sigiswald saw a pretty woman standing in the street, he stopped his mount and looked for a second. He took his helm off and put it in his lap, not recognizing her he continued on his way. She felt familiar but he must have been imagining things. His sergeant yelled for him, "Kriemhild hurry it up." He made his mount hurry forward," Yes sir." H hollered back and then settled back into a walk. The church was just before them and a priest was waiting for them. He sighed home for the next couple of nights.

The sounds carried on. Even from this far off, Liesel heard the gates opening. Hooves, clattering on the cobblestones. Liesel stepped off to the side, close to a nearby wall. Yes, it was soldiers. Forces home from the latest Crusade.... Liesel watched them as they went by, obviously weary, some with arms in slings, eyes missing, or displaying other damage from battle. Those soldiers would not be going back to the mystical, sand-blown East....
A few of the men noticed her as she stood watching in silence. Smiles, waves; one even blew a kiss. No doubt she was the first non-Eastern woman any of them had seen in months. Possibly years, for some. Likely years, in fact.
As she watched, one man took off his helmet, shaking out his hair. He looked at her... and paused. Liesel looked back, feeling those dark eyes even from this far away. Somehow, she felt they knew each other, even though she could not discern how or why or....
"Kriemhild! Hurry up!"
An officer called out, and the mysterious man started, bringing his horse around to follow. Liesel watched.... And then realized. Kriemhild had been Sigismund's surname....
Could it have been? Truly? Liesel tried to ignore the little bound her heart gave at the thought, but it was there all the same. It may not have been him, she reminded herself. He was not the only Kriemhild in Germany; not even just in Hamburg. Still, there was that note of recognition....
Liesel lingered on the street, watching. Only when the returned forces were gone from sight did she resume walking to her own home, lost in thought.

Sigiswald slowed down to almost a exaggerated walk with the horses before he dismounted and walked along side everyone else. It was as usual, orders being shouted and people being directed where to go for the night. "Kriemhild... go with Britfuela and Muench. " Sigiswald sighed and answered back," Yes sir." He followed the two with their horses as well. He followed his higher ups, not going to like tonight. His horse was stabled and he headed into a tavern. Up the stirs and into a cot. He was lucky to not have the floor or sleep outside, which he might end up doing just because there was two higher ups and they usually liked as little as possible in their room. sigiswald shed his armor and cloth. He reeked and he could smeel himself. First order of business was a bath. He asked for permission and was granted so. Hee walked down to the tavern keeper and asked about such a ting. He nodded and poined out back. Sigiswald got a sinking feeling he wasn't going to like this much.

Obviously Liesel had no way of knowing what was transpiring at the camp. She was letting herself into her home, lighting a few candles as she made her way to the fire. Yes, the maid had left some stew in a pot for her. All Liesel had to do was stoke up the blaze and let it heat. Taking up a poker, the lady did so. Then she shed her cloak, hanging it on the peg by the door, and stretched out her back.
Had she truly seen Sigismund, just now? Liesel was trying so hard not to hope thus, so as not to be disappointed were that not the case. Not to mention that her very focus on such a notion was disquieting. She had shed her youthful infatuation years ago, after all. He had never known of it, and if they did by some chance meet again, it was likely just as well.
Oh, he's probably forgotten all about you, she told herself. She may be a fleeting memory of a fire-haired little girl running at his heels, at best. A nuisance more than anything else. So yes, it was foolish to think on such things. Still, though, Liesel found herself wondering if there was some reason to venture near the barracks... just to try to see for herself. Just to see.

Sigiswald took a deep breath and headed out back and it was as he thoughteverything prepared for them nothing private. But a bath was a bath, whether it be with a whole bunch of other men or in warm or cold water. He slipped out of his cloths and into the water. A woman collected his cloths as she washed nd scrubbed himself down, when he was done he wrapped himself in a towel and another woman handed him clean cloths. Sigiswald put the new clean cloths and and as usual for a man his size everything much too large. But he didn't complain, at least thy fit decently and where washed. he put his boots on and rather liked the feeling of clean socks on. Sigiswald went out onto the street and realized how late it was.
Quick in judgment he made his way over to the church, and took three steps before just sitting down. A few comrades commented a word or two in his direction but he said nothing. He felt his face, the scruff was hardly there but it bothered him. He would shave before he went to bed. But for right now he wanted nothing better to do than to just sit there and think upon that young woman he had seen earlier, She was very pretty he could not deny that. But there was something about her that had caught his attention and no woman ever had before her. He just could put a name on why she was invading his thoughts like she was.

After eating the heated stew, Liesel found herself wandering aimlessly about herself. Picking up objects and putting them down again; trying to do bookkeeping, but finding it already done and she unable to concentrate. Her mind just seemed to be turning, over and over and over again. All on the same endless loop....
I need a walk. Liesel decided, on utter impulse, to go down to the church. It was a quiet place, where she could simply sit and think. Maybe then she could come back to herself again. Thus resolved, she took her cloak off the peg, slipped her key into her pouch, and stepped out once again into the dusk, walking briskly toward the spire in the distance.

Sigiswald sat there watching the activities around him. Men going to and fro, the horses and people mingling and then things started to thin out, all the horses put away and men finding places to sleep for the night. He found himself quite alone after awhile, but i didn't bother him he was alone most of the time. Sigiswald let his mind keep turning that image of the maiden in his mind. Trying to see if he knew her or not but no matter how many times he replayed the image in his head, He could not come up with a name. He couldn't really see her features from how far away she was or maybe he did and refused to believe what he saw.

There was a lot of bustle going on by the church; this was where the barracks had been centered. Yes, Liesel attracted several glances, some of them quite intrigued. She ignored them all. A woman had no fear of violation on the grounds of a church. Not here, anyway. She nodded at those she passed, finding herself discreetly watching for the mysterious man from earlier even as she crossed the walkway to the main cathedral.
Liesel felt a degree of soothing as soon as she entered the place. It was cool and dark, the holy presence calming. She paused to make brief obesiance to the statue of Mary before making her way down the aisle, her small boots oddly loud on the stones that made up the floor. She slid into a pew, aiming to sit and think- and only them realized that someone else already sat there. A man, half-lost in the shadows. "Oh, I do beg your pardon. Please excuse me disrupting your devotions," she said, hood falling back away from her head a she turned and spoke. Oh good heavens, she had come to a house of worship with her hair unbound! Whatever had she been thinking?

08-28-2009, 01:59 AM
Sigiswald heard a voice and then realized it wasn't one of his comrades, none where female. He turned his head and his jaw about dropped it was her. It was the woman he had seen earlier, and that voice. So close he could swear her name was on the tip of his tongue he just couldn't say it. But as was custom he stood and Waited for her to sit. He may have been a soldier but he had manners. "My lady you weren't... her beauty struck him, her hair flowing down even though she was in church, caught him off guard. "... you weren't bothering my devotions, more of thoughts really. " He said. "Sit you look tired and like you have a lot of thinking yourself to do." He offered her his spot on the pew.

Liesel realized the poor man could not sit down until she herself did so; to do otherwise would be ungentlemanly. Now that he stood, though, she got a better look at his features; the rugged manliness of them, and how striking the effect was. Not only that, but it was the man from earlier. Deep in her gut, a sensation stabbed that yes, she did indeed know him.... It took a moment for Liesel to wrest her eyes away. "I- I thank you, good sir," she said, then slowly seated herself. Liesel looked up toward the altar for a few moments. But she could not take it anymore, and so she said, "Sir, I do beg your pardon for speaking out of turn and disrupting your thoughts, but I cannot help but feel that I know you from somewhere before."

Sigiswald smiled as she sat down and then seated himself. He watched her for a moment as she thanked him, "Your welcome my lady." And he ducked his head down like he was in prayer once more when she asked her question. He sat up and looked at her with his bright blue eyes and the blond hair of almost every German. "My name, is Sigiswald Christopher Kriemhild, ma'am and to be all honest miss, I recognize you, but i can't put a name to your face." He smiled a little crooked smile. His hands where folded in his lap as he hoped she would say her name or give some sort of hint to who she was. He thought her very much like the little girl whom he adored so much and spent his time with. But it would be a leap and a bound for this lovely lady to be her.

At his words, Liesel's breath caught. Her hands flew to her mouth, eyes growing enormous. "It was you," she gasped, amazement clear in her tone. She shook her head. "Forgive me; that must strike you as very strange," she said, even as still appeared somewhat stunned. "I... we did know each other once, many years ago. The name you knew me under at the time was Liesel Albrecht...." Liesel paused, drinking in his features. The way his hair tumbled across his forehead, the vivid blue of the eyes- how could she have missed the connection before?

08-28-2009, 03:17 AM
The name leapt across his tongue as Liesel said her name. He knew her and had known it was her he just truly didn't want to believe it until he had heard her say it. "Leisel...," He said interrupting her, " You have grown up so much. I mean the last time I saw you, You would hardly let go of my hand, and your hair is much longer and well, you've have blossomed really." He was trying hard to put his words into a gentlemanly way but it was rather hard when he was struck by her beauty like he was. Then the words donned on him at the time. "Your name has changed?" He should have expected it to after all these years but it was still a shock.

Liesel smiled, eyes lowering for a moment, at the memory. "Oh, yes. I was much younger then.... In retrospect, I realize how patient you were, allowing me to tag after you for all that time, even though I was so much your junior. I never was able to thank you for that." She looked up, completely unaware of how luminous her smile was as she looked upon him. That face was so welcome, now she saw it again.... "But yes, my name has changed. I am now Liesel Hamprecht."

Sigiswald nodded," You must have lots of children and a wonderful husband then." he said his smile vanishing quickly. His heart sank even though he should have known that she would betrothed to another. He let his hands rest in his lap as e sent a silent prayer up to god to forgive him of lusting and having been selfish. Then a soft smile mt his lips once more as he waited to her her story.

Liesel shook her head, a touch of sadness drifting across her features. "I am afraid not," she said softly. "My husband died three years ago, of a bout of plague. My marriage never yielded any children." Liesel did not say so, but the implication was clear- she was alone. And while she mourned Wolfgang as a good man who had been kind to her, it had not been a love match. More a business arrangement with some degree of affection involved. However, it would be improper of her to say so just now. Come to that, why was it so important all of a sudden, to assure Sigismund that she was not a widow wasting away from love forever lost?
Storm Chaser
08-28-2009, 03:51 AM
Sigiswald nodded seeing her grief but it was as if she was only sad that it wasn't a real love not because she had lost a lover. Sigiswald nodded. " I am sorry for your loss." And he was but he wasn't so sorry as to still not think about her. "How have you been managing since?" He asked quite concerned now that she was living in a predicament where he wouldn't like. He cared for Liesel he always had even as she was a small one.

"I thank you for your condolences," Liesel said, still in that soft voice. But now, an equally soft smile touched her features, lending a kind of tender luminescence to her face. "It's very kind. But yes, I am doing all right. As Wolfgang and I had no children, his portion of the spice mercantile went, by law, to his brother. But said brother is a clergyman with no investment in business, so I have been operating it in his stead." Liesel didn't say so, as she never did, but it clearly implied that the business was, for all intents and purposes, hers. A rare thing, in this age. But then again, there were extenuating circumstances.

08-28-2009, 04:15 AM
He nodded, only understanding that she was doing more than well. " That is always good to here. " He commented off hand. He watched Liesel and had to wonder how he had managed to ever let her go, to go to war. He watched her features flow from one expression to another, she was dazzling. Only a wonder how she wasn't already married again and without kids. " If I make ask, wat brought you out here tonight?"

"It is good to say, as well," Liesel responded, with a small hint of a smile. "As for what brought me here- well, I felt... restless. I could focus on nothing, and simply wandered about my house in aimless solitude. So I thought to walk down here and see if sitting in the quietude of this place could enable me to settle my thoughts." She self-consciously pushed a stray lock of red-gold hair behind one ear and lowered her eyes for a moment self-consciously before peeking up and saying, "I do feel much better now." It was her tacit way of saying that she was happy to see him again. Oh, if she wasn't careful, the feelings of her youth could awaken all anew....

Sigiswald felt his heart melt and it took everything he had not to reach up and touch Liesel's face. " Well I am glad you feel better. Its always nice to catch up on life." He said. Not knowing where the conversation would go from here. If she left than he would have to go back to his room and lay down on a cot or who knows what would happen. Sigiswald just didn't want to leave Liesel now that he had found her, but she would probably think it rather odd of him to not want to leave her side.

Liesel nodded "Indeed it is." Her eyes went back to the altar, again. "I see you have been traveling with the armies, all this time," she added quietly. "Was... was it very difficult? One hears stories, but it can be so difficult to separate truth from fiction, sometimes." She glanced sidelong, ensuring the question hadn't been an improper one.

He heard Liesel's question and almost had to laugh, but to think back about all those times and the hardships he had gone through, It was difficult and treacherous grounds they had been on. Sigiswald nodded," We as an army have traveled to the holy land and farther several times, the lands are so different than from home, Women covered from head to foot, Others in barely anything at all, and sand everywhere, the sun always beating down on you." He stopped thinking about how miserable it was but then thought it good he stopped less he ratle on or say things he shouldn't

Liesel nodded, a small movement. "It sounds as though it is a world unlike any other," she said softly. "So harsh and utterly foreign.... Having never left Hamburg, I do not think I could possibly fathom the depth of what you have experienced, in any truly fitting way." This was something so utterly beyond her limited realm of experience.

Sigiswald took it all in stride. "Harsh and nothing like home. Many men have been lost to the wonders but, I will always prefer to come home. I like our, or rather the life I had here. I miss home. " He admitted. He felt rather sheepish having admitted something so tender to Liesel. Not even his comrades knew. A few priests yes but no-on else but god himself.

(I hope it's resolved, or can be....)
Liesel certainly didn't feel there was any wrong or weakness in longing for home. "For you, then, your heart is always found here, in Germany," she said with a soft ghost of a smile. "Are you here for good, this time, or will you be going back?" Her visage grew more serious, at that. Liesle found herself filled with the hope that he would stay. She refused to contemplate just why this thought would mean so much for her- beyond concern for the fate of an old childhood friend, that is.

Sigiswald looked at Liesel and could see her thoughts almost but he would never betray that to her. "I Am unfortunately just passing through. I have a few months left before I sign-up again or go home. " He said hoping that might cheer her up. Liesel had the most disarming face when she was saddened. It almost broke his heart to see her like his.

(That's good, at least!)
"So you will be going back, then?" Liesel felt another jolt of sorrow, at the thought. To know her old friend was to disappear into those sands of mystery once again, possibly to never return.... Yet she did attempt to conceal the sadness, not wanting to make him feel worse for the display. "Or have you not yet decided?" What would he do with himself if he did not? After all, like many men, Sigismund seemed to have spent so much of his youth at war.

(( Well thank you Guendy-chan ))
A small simple shrug would have sufficed but Sigiswald felt like he had to explain himself and he didn't know why. It was as if he was trying to Reassure Liesel that all would be alright, and that he would come back home. " I go where they tell me o even if it is back into the sands and hot sun, but in the end I want to come back home, I want to be back here. I don't know quite what I will do yet but I want to come back home. " He said as if reassuring himself that's what he wanted and nothing else.

(You're welcome!)
Liesel did feel at least somewhat reassured. But she would be worried for him all the same. "So you are not one of the men who choose to make a home in Constantinople, or other such exotic cities." There were those who did, seeing wealth and opportunity there. Liesel bestowed upon him a small smile. "It relieves me to know you wish to return here, even if it is forward of me to say so." She was a widow, which meant she was not bound by the same level of restrictions as maidens. Still, a lady was not supposed to express preference for a gentleman until he displayed his own first.

Sigiswald liked that Liesel wanted or rather liked the idea that he would be coming back home. It pleased him even though he didn't know why. "It will be nice to be back around loved ones and friends. " he said, not really telling Liesel which one she was, but he didn't think he needed to. " I hope to maybe try and get invovled again with my parents business if it hasn't gone to any of my other siblings by now."

"They would like that very much," Liesel said, feeling her face grow a trifle warm, and hoping that the dim lighting in the church would conceal it. After all, she wondered just where she lay, in the "friends and loved ones" designation.... "I fear I have not had much contact with your family, in recent years, so I know not how the business has been managed."
Storm Chaser
08-29-2009, 08:32 PM
"They wouldn't let it go bad, that for sure. They loved it too much to let it go to ruin." Sigiswald said hoping his parents hadn't come upon hard times and let the business go. He would miss it very much if that where the case. He wouldn't know what to do if everything he knew was gone from here.

"I have heard nothing of that kind, if nothing else." Liesel had enough contacts in this world that presumably she would have learned of such a thing. "Therefore, I presume all is well." That was what she was going to say, anyway, unless she hear otherwise. Her old friend needed that reassurance. Liesel saw no reason she couldn't be correct, anyway.

She was being rather kind to him, but then again that wasn't unusual, he was back home in his own country and everyone here seemed to adore the crusaders very much so. Sigiswald only hoped that Liesel was truly happy to see him and trying not to hie anything, he would be sad and disappointed if she was, but He couldn't see that girl who is now grown telling him tales.
Guendolen_Sama

Liesel was indeed very happy to see him- perhaps more so than she strictly should have been. It wasn't strictly proper, was it? Yes, he was her old friend. But there had been that infatuation, and the certain sensations stirring deep within.... Liesel was trying to tamp those down, but for how long would that last?
She knew nothing could go anywhere. Would Sigismund to seek a wife, he would no doubt look for a fresh young thing of perhaps seventeen or eighteen, sweet and well-dowered and hopefully fertile. Not a widow of eight and twenty who, in the eight years of her marriage, did not produce a single child. Men wanted heirs, right?...
Oh, why was she even thinking about this? It was nonsense, utter nonsense. Liesel shook her hair off her face. "Have you seen your family yet?" she asked him, to deflect such errant thoughts. "Surely they would want to know you are back."

A frown came u pon his face aand then a look of shame," No we just came in and I was going to head to bed for tonight and look tomorrow but I too many thoughts on my mind so I came here and from there get some sleep. Its been a long travel to get here, I think besides a few others who go out and uh... Drink... I am the only one up. " He said trying not to make his unit sound discreditable, but the men had found ways to relief themselves of the nightmares one way or another.

"I see. You no doubt wish to rest first, present yourself to them at your best." He might worry about bothering his family, to arrive on their doorstep still road-worn and weary. As for the drinking... well, Liesel did not think any the less of them, for such an indulgence. In fact, with the pause there, she suspected they were seeking other sorts of release, as well. Being a widow, people were more relaxed around her, and subsequently she was aware of those women whose company for an evening bore a price. It was something wicked, to be sure, but there were those who sought such solace regardless.

08-30-2009, 02:49 AM
Sigiswald nodded sheepishly."That And I thought it rude to go over there smelling like weeks of travel and only wanting a bath and sleep before I visited. " He wished he had some sane way of getting rid of his own nightmares, but he found none in smoking or drinking and he knew women would never do it for him. " I feel bad having not gone over there but I am sure they understand. "

Liesel nodded as well. On a moment of utter impulse, she reached out and lightly rested the tips of her fingers on the top of his hand. "They will. They know it is because you respect them, and that you will be there as soon as you may. At least you have this chapel here, to offer you some level of surcease until then." He did look so worn, once she looked more closely. Maybe even a bit... lost. Her heart ached for what he must have seen, experienced. "And... if I may be so bold... perhaps you may come by to dine some evening?..." Her widowed status made such an invitation appropriate. They could be alone together because of it without anyone being scandalized or demanding a marriage.

He felt her fingers rest on his hand and on his own impulse he covered her hand with his other. His hands covering her almost completely. "I think They will understand as well, and I am sure that I can manage one Evening before I leave to come dine with such a lovely lady." He said. He smiled kindly to her and noticed she was being very watchful as if alert waiting for something although he could never fathom of what it was.

08-30-2009, 03:13 AM
His hand was much larger than hers, the skin rougher, more callused. Her own was almost completely lost between the two. The warmth of the touch, simple though it was, made a blush rise on Liesel's cheeks. She suddenly felt very, well, aware, at this moment.... No. Do not think such things! Especially not in a church! When she spoke, her voice displayed the barest hint of shyness, as a result. "It would be an honor indeed to share company with so honorable a soul as yourself," she murmured quietly. Yes, she must at least try to be formal, no matter how hard it may be. Sliding into the familiar ways of youth could lead to a slide into those same feelings.... Feelings Liesel knew would never be reciprocated.
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 04:10 AM
Sigiswald was unaware that Liesel was having struggles, he wasn't use to having to listen for the barest of hints only a shouted order. He smiled and nodded."You don't have to make me sound so noble, although our cause may be the things that have been done in the lords name aren't so noble an act." He said wisdom coming from years spent trying to stay alive.

08-30-2009, 04:17 AM
Liesel nodded, a fraction of movement. One heard... rumors. She would not so impose upon Sigismund to insist he tell her of the truth of them.... "If you ever needs must speak of them, I would be a willing ear," she told him, risking a glance at his rugged face. "I fear that at times, the world is not always the black and white we try to see it in being." That wasn't blasphemy, was it? Liesel's eyes fluttered down again, for a moment. The church said the cause of the Crusades was right; that all was justified, to fight the infidel. But when rumors whispered about, sometimes one wondered....
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 04:22 AM
He reached out and cupped her chin with his hand and made Liesel look up at him. "Dear don't be ashamed for you are right. Nothing is black and white so little of it is, there is so much grey in the world people refuse to see it. " He said, before letting go and he touched her cheek. A simple gesture to let her know he wasn't mad at her just that she shouldn't be ashamed.

08-30-2009, 04:25 AM
A frisson course of Liesel's skin, at that touch. It had been three years since anyone had done anything of the kind.... So gentle, so kind, even tender. She bit her lip as she looked at him- and fought the urge to rest her cheek against his palm before his hand pulled away. Her blush deepened. "Yet... we are told it is otherwise," she whispered. "Are all those more holy than us wrong, then?" This was so confusing. "I... I simply do not know. You were there, you saw so much more than I ever will. It is easier to believe in the black and white when your world is small and sheltered...." She needed to understand this, resolve it in her own mind. A small portion of her wondered if perhaps, just perhaps, they could do so together.
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 04:32 AM
He looked around, his eyes seeing that there were still indeed those that would call what he said blasphemy. "Why don't we discuss this away from prying ears and eyes that would look down upon what the truth is." He said standing up waiting on Liesel hen thought about offering his hand to make it seem more gentlemanly of him.
Guendolen_Sama
08-30-2009, 04:43 AM
Liesel nodded, accepting the offered hand as she rose. "Yes, I feel that is for the best." She would feel far less blasphemous to discuss this outside the realm of the church proper. First, though, Liesel carefully raised her hood, tucking her hair within. No use walking about like that in puiblic. It would only draw more attention, after all.

08-30-2009, 04:46 AM
Sigis stepped forward and helped put a few strands back into the hood she had missed, the fine red-gold hair in his hands. He turned on his heel and walked the little bit till he was out of the pew, he waited patiently for Liesel, because a woman alone at night was never good.

That gesture, however simple, somehow felt incredibly intimate. Liesel closed her eyes for just a second. It would be so easy to slide back.... And she could not allow that. Sigismund would never take her to wife, she had to remember that.... No matter how much of a pull she may feel.
Liesel then gathered herself and followed him out of the church. "Where would you like to go?" she asked quietly.

"Its been many years since I have been back home, I don't know if everything is as I remember it. " He said. He looked over to spot one of his higher ups coming towards them, with a sigh Sigiswald excused himself," Liesel you may come with but they are drunk and I need to inform someone tht I am to be gone. " He hesitated not knowing what Liesel wanted to do. If she came with he would have to pretend she was his so that the others wouldn't try anything.

"I understand. Of course you have to report to your superiors." That was how things were done, how order was accomplished. it was the way of the world. Even from here, Liesel could detect the sounds and signs of men who had engaged in too much revelry; probably at one of the many beer halls about the city. "If you feel it is safer that I attend with you, I shall," Liesel said. Yes, she knew that there were those who would assume she was his "company" for the evening. But she would likely never see these men again. Besides, it may well be safer to allow that than to stand alone on the dark church steps.

08-30-2009, 05:16 AM
He nodded and took her hand in his own as he walked towards them and they spotted him of course making a whole big scene out of nothing. "Sigis... " One said alcohol reeking off of him. " What of this fine young woman?" The other chuckled,"Share now, you know the unit policy." Sigiswald stood through this and said nothing until he could," Sir, I was letting you know I am now going on my leave and that this lady is not company as you think. " Both men glanced at each other, He knew what they would assume," Pardon us soon, we didn't realize she was your lady." "Pardon us ma'am." the other said.

Liesel kept her head low, her voice quiet. The smaller a look they got at her, the better. Their initialcomments made her cheeks flame. They thought she was a common wench! Assuming it and hearing it were two different things....
She looked up, though, at Sigismund's next words. He was implying that they were together in a respectable fashion... courting, perhaps, or even betrothed?... Liesel said nothing, but nodded acknowledgment to their issued apologies. She would have to apologize to Sigismund later for causing him to make that mislead. Perhaps she should have waited on the church steps after all. Liesel never wanted to put him in an awkward position.

Both the men nodded and the older one spoke up,"Go but be back every afternoon. We have formation and then you can leave again." Sigiswald ave his response,"Yes sir." He turned to Liesel and gave her a peck on the cheek for show and then looked to her," Sorry darling, where was it we wanted to go?" He asked allowed making sure that the others had heard and weren't going to try anything. A blush rose up from his neck at what he had done. He knew he had mislead but he hadn't told a lie either. He looked down at Liesel to make sur she was alright.

Liesel's cheeks blazed crimson. It had been so long since anyone had done that.... The simple gesture awakened feelings that were getting perilously close to sinful. Liesel thrust them away. After all, she was wanting to turn her head and.... No! I must not think such things! She was a wicked woman, considering such thoughts about a man not so much as courting her. Even more so for wishing there could be a repeat.
Thus, she didn't have to feign a catch in her voice as she said, "I had no destination in particular. Shall we just walk?" As she looked up at him, she hoped her hood concealed her fierce blush- and whatever longing she worried might lurk behind her eyes.

He nodded," Then away from here we will go." He said and turned back toward the church and angled away from it. After a small distance to where none of his comrades where behind them he let out a sigh of relief,"Sorry Liesel about that back there, I know that was wrong of me to do such a thing but they are a curious bunch and do watch to see if it is for show or not. Although I will shamelessly admit, you look beautiful even when blushing." Sigiswald said as he let a small smile play upon his lips. He looked around enjoying the night.

Liesel nodded, following along at his side. She looked up at him when he spoke. "Pray do not worry about it," she said softly. "I understand. It was all in good stead." His last words made her blush fire up all over again, even though the dim light made it probably invisible. "And- and thank you-" she managed to say, the stammer at the unexpected compliment quite evident. It had been some time since a man had complimented her at more than a cursory level required by basic social interaction. Even her marriage had never been much of one for compliments. After all, she and Wolfgang had been more friends than lovers. This was definitely a lover-like compliment. It stoked up all those feelings that had been simmering, moments before....
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 05:58 AM
Sigiswald didn't realize that Liesel had blushed again, although he thought she might have by the stammering," Your welcome." He sad and patted her hand with his other. He might not have been brought up completely proper for military never really had any even in the crusades there was hardly any toward those not in it. " Its a lovely night, a bit nippy, but lovely none the less." He had been in silence for much to long and her voice was like a lovely melody, he liked to hear it.

Liesel nodded. "It is. I find I don't mind a bit of a nip in the air. Such things remind you so well that you're truly alive...." Her breath puffed out softly, and she returned the hand-pat, resting her own overtop his. Strange, how natural that felt. Somehow they just seemed to almost... fit. Even their heights were well-matched. Liesel tried not to think about such things, but it was difficult.
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 06:14 AM
He looked down at her small hand on top of his, he almost chuckled. " That is true, but when you have been in only hot temperatures even a little nip becomes quite cold." He sad as his own breath could be seen. "Although with time I will be use to it once more. " He made himself sound like he was going to come back and settle in. And He planned on it, it was just seeing as to how he would keep living in the middle class, money was saved up well enough to live just fine even by upper class standards for a month or two as of right now, but he preferred to liv where he knew what the coutasies where and with people whom he knew.

"Aye, I suppose you would feel it more keenly." Liesel was so used to the slight chill that she hardly took note of it right now. If one was in a place as hot and dry as the desert was supposed to be, it was no one they would notice a sharper difference. "I hope you may have the time here, in order to adjust," she added. Truly, Liesel liked the idea of Sigismund having a permanent return more than she cared to admit.
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 06:28 AM
Sigiswald nodded," Once my few months are over, then yes I will come happily back home, like a lost dog finding home once more. " He admitted. There was so much more he wanted to say right then, like how he would love to come home to Liesel once more and stay with her. But it was too inappropriate right now.
Guendolen_Sama
08-30-2009, 06:33 AM
"A lost dog?..." That just struck Liesel as so very sad. "Oh, never. Not lost, just... relocated. And never a mere dog. No, you should not sell yourself short like that...." Liesel trailed off, self-cosciously clearing her throat. There had been definite feeling in there, stronger than she had planned for.... "I... I will hope for those months to pass swiftly, for you," she added, carefully quiet now.
(Sorry, but I'm going to bed in short order.)

08-30-2009, 06:36 AM
Liesel seemed to not to think of him as a dog even though it was common knowledge that men were considered dogs. But he wouldn't press the issue any further. " I hope they do to, would be nice to come home to a pretty face like yours." Sigiswald said and realized what exactly he said and how it could be taken. It was his turn to blush and hide his face for having been so open.
Guendolen_Sama
08-30-2009, 06:40 AM
And... Liesel went and blushed all over again. "I- I-" It took a moment for her to get her words working properly. "You- you are too kind- exceedingly so." Was the shyness showing even in her voice? All of a sudden, Liesel felt seventeen and giddy all over again, like a maiden with her first fancy for a boy. This was bsurd. How could a woman of her age feel such a thing, over a compliment! Technically she should tell him off for being forward. But it had been so artless, unbidden. How could she do so? Especially since it filled her with warmth, as well as shyness.
(Good night.)

Oh what was he getting himself into. He almost stopped to tell he should go but he couldn't this was what he wanted that lovely lady by his side. At the same time he knew he must apologize for being so forward. "I am sorry Liesel, I... I know that was very forward and I put you in a hard spot." He couldn't get the blush to go away for the life of him.

(Aw, thank you. I may be up a trifle longer- counseling.... Or, apparently not, as the person got off, and now I'm worried....)
"As I said before, pray do not apologize." Liesel's voice was soft and low. "Yes, it was unexpected. But... you did not offend me. So please do not worry yourself over it. All right?" Yes, she was still blushing. Yes, she still felt like an untried young girl all over again. But still, hearing those words... had felt good. Too good. So why make him apologize for such a thing?
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 08:39 AM
(( Welcome butterfly ))
Relief flushed his features for a second, then he was doing alright, bu he had to tred carefully, being in the crusades had taught him to be blunt and just go for what you want, and be political only to those above you. Luckily he still had some manners left after all these years,"Thank you, your much too kind." He said as by way of still feeling bad but accepting what she said.
Guendolen_Sama
08-30-2009, 01:47 PM
(So, why "Butterfly," if you don't mind me asking?)
"You are welcome," Liesel replied. "What you said was a complimentary thing, and I would be rude indeed were I to shunt it aside." No matter whether it was a forward statement or not. Besides, it still made her feel good. Liesel wasn't going to just ignore that, even if he shouldn't have precisely said it when he did.

08-30-2009, 08:44 PM
(( Your words are wild and wonderful and your caring, a knowledge most of us can't even come close to. Like a butterfly. ))
He nodded. Sigiswald could finally let the blush fade away and looked to Liesel. " I suppose that's a good thing." He said rather trying to get off the subject now, but not wanting to be rude at the same time. This subject was becoming quite the entertaining one and yet one that was so wrong at the same time.
Guendolen_Sama
08-30-2009, 09:40 PM
(Aw, thank you, hon. **hug**)
"Indeed." Liesel wanted to shift the subject too, as it was entirely too fascinating for her own good. Yet what to? They had been apart for so long, with so much as-yet undiscovered. And Liesel felt decidedly awkward asking about his war experiences, as they were no doubt painful. "When might you know you have an available evening?" Liesel asked, indirectly referring to her invitation to dinner. "Or will that hinge on your reunion with your family?"
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 10:07 PM

He sigh inwardly at the change of subject," No my family understand that when something is set you, must go. Shall we say tomorrow night? Or the night after if it is easier for you." He said still thinking of courtesies as he remembered them.

08-30-2009, 10:12 PM
Liesel felt a little internal leap at his acquiescence. "Let us say tomorrow night, then," she said. "Tomorrow is market day, so ingredients are freshly procured. What are your favorite things, anymore? Or what would you most desire?" Liesel knew what his favorite foods had once been, but that might have changed. Or he may perhaps have specific flavors of home he had been longing for specifically.
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 10:28 PM
He had to think about this for a second. "Some Rouladen and some red cabbage, or anything else you can think of. I haven't anything I have liked since I left home." He looked straight ahead and at the streets the area quite clear except very few people. He looked back to Liesel.
Guendolen_Sama
08-30-2009, 10:38 PM
Liesel nodded. "All right, then. That is not a problem." Cabbage was such a simple thing, but no doubt not readily procured in a desert. So it was no wonder he had missed something of that sort. "Perhaps a struesel or tart for dessert?" There were always apples in the market, and this time of year there would be other fresh fruits as well.
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 10:48 PM
Sigiswald nodded at that," Anything from home would be good. God may have blessed us to have food, but its nothing like food from home." He said. The exotic foods that they had eaten had tasted so different from what he was use to eating. "Thank you Liesel for dinner, It will be a blessing in itself."
Guendolen_Sama
08-30-2009, 11:20 PM
Liesel found herself smiling, at that. "I will be more than happy to provide such a thing," she said. "They do say the simplest pleasures are oftentimes the best. If it pleases you, it is in turn my own pleasure to provide something that will give you the flavors of home."
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 11:29 PM
He chuckled at that," Liesel, for as long as I have known you, you always have tried to please me, I thank you for it, but sometimes, you should please yourself too." Sigiswald said and was tempted to kiss her cheek just one more time, He abstained though, well for a few moments before taking her small, gentle hand and pressed his lips to the top of her hand, before putting her hand back on his arm.
Guendolen_Sama
08-30-2009, 11:36 PM
"And what if I said seeing you happy pleases me?" Liesel said quietly. She knew there were men who would try to take advantage of those words, to read into them an implication of favor she did not intend to apply. Sigismund wouldn't. But... if he did want such favors from her... would she.... Cease! That is sinful!
When he kissed her hand, Liesel's fave heated with yet another blush. A simple brush of her skin, and she tingled everywhere, so conscious.... Liesel settled her hand into place, fidgeting. "I- I do take care of myself, never fear, but one puts the needs of others before their own...."
Storm Chaser
08-30-2009, 11:50 PM
"Oh how true those words are my lady, oh how true they are..." He gave pause to think about Liesel's question before Sigiswald answered. " And Liesel if seeing me makes you happy, then I guess I will have to show up more often, so I can see that pretty smile. " He knew he could have taken advantage of that question but he couldn't. She was to precious to do that too.

"I do believe you are actively trying to make me blush, this eve," Liesel said, but there was no true admonishment in her words. In fact, she sounded... pleased. It felt like they were ten years younger and courting for the first time.... Not that they ever courted at all, of course. But it seemed that when they reunited, time rewound its spool to take them back to a new beginning....
Which was, of course, whimsical and silly. Yet an altogether too appealing concept. "If a smile will bring you around, then I shall be sure to smile always," Liesel replied, even as her cheeks lingered pink.
Storm Chaser
08-31-2009, 06:48 AM
Sigiswald smiled at that, he felt like he was young again, like right before he left to go to war. Years had gone by that he felt could have been spent with Liesel. Sigiswald looked to the blushing gal beside him." It will be worth every minute gone by to see that smile." He responded. He felt like he could go on forever complimenting her.

And thus, Liesel continued to blush. "You are quite the gallant," she murmured, smiling up at him. Yes, this was chivalrous, was it not? That... that was acceptable. Even though Liesel knew she was justifying to herself, so as to make exchanges of this nature valid in her own mind.

"Well thank you." Sigidwald accepted her words as a compliment and would not hassle her like he would have one of his comrades. She would not be use to such ragging and constant belittling or making one seem on a very high horse just for laughs," As you are quite beautiful." Sigiswald hoped he wasn't laying it on thick and seemed like he was trying to chase up her skirt, he really wasn't. He just wanted to compliment Liesel and tell her... tell her what? Sigiswald couldn't figure it out for the life of himself what it was he wanted to tell the lovely Lady upon his arm.

Liesel laughed softly, ducking her head as the blush remained fixed firmly in place. "My goodness, you don't need to charm me," she said, smile in her voice. "I already promised you dinner, after all! Unless you have some other sort of ulterior motive, that is?..." The glance she angled up at him was positively playful, borderline flirtatious. Liesel herself wasn't entirely certain where this urge came from. It was just... there. She hadn't felt like this in ten years, at least.

He didn't quite know how to take that last comment. He hadn't even thought of such things about Leisel, well sure he had fantasies about her during his travels, a light blush came to his cheeks as he was thinking this. And he had to admit he would like to see her... Not good. He shouldn't think that way. A blush heated up his face. He could hardly think of something to say to that, even as other parts of him thought differently. "It's all in innocent fun but, for you I just might. "he said playfully back.

"Oh, truly? I do feel special now!" Liesel chuckled again. "Though you've piqued a lady's curiosity. What boon might you be seeking? A special deal on spices, perhaps? Or some mending done?" The list of very ordinary, almost banal items was deliberate; another means of teasing him. "Or am I utterly off the center?"

Sigiswald had to think ever so carefully of how to respondHe didn't want Liesel to think bad of him or that he only wanted her for one thing like most other comrades in the crusades did. He was different, he had saved himself for one Lady and she was right next to him. " Well I have all the sweetness and spice right next to me, as for mending? I could think of somethings for you to mend, But You and I both know of something different." He said teasing her right back. Most the men could never understand how he could charm the ladies and never want them, and get those around him riled up and then fall over in a fit of laughter.

Liesel just stared up at him for a moment. Then her shoulders quivered, and a laugh escaped. True mirth, entertainment unbound. "Oh my goodness, you are truly one of a kind!" The words were over the top; charming, but if Liesel took them seriously she would fall over in a blushing heap. As it was, her visage was flaming, and well... she felt a little coil of warmth blossoming inside of a completely different nature. "Still, you do know how to make a lady feel pleased, even if she knows it's the flattery of conversation." Her words were light, but she knew it was the truth. After all, men didn't say things like that to widows in their late twenties. Those were courtship words, reserved for the youthful and nubile.

Sigiswald chuckled and then looked to Liesel, her face told so many different things, even so she was pretty and he was pleased. He looked about once more and noticed they were walking in the middle class area, one of them must have been walking where they knew to be going, he wasn't sure if it was himself or Liesel but he was too intrigued by her. "I'm too much? I wouldn't even be this way if it weren't for you Liesel." He said, hoping and praying he hadn't given himself away that he had waited all this time just for her.

"So I bring out your playful side?" Liesel realized she had been walking toward her home without even realizing it. They were almost there, in fact. "Then I consider myself a lucky and privileged woman indeed. I daresay this is a side of you that you allow few to see." Sigismund struck her as someone who kept his thoughts close to his chest, most of the time. That he relaxed so much with her made her feel fortunate indeed.

He only shrugged to that," Privileged?, your blessed by god himself and touched by the angels." He said not looking at her. " Very few have seen this from me. " Sigiswald admitted. He could remember women always going for the drunk ones with there sad charm but there was one or two he made blush, but it was so they would see that not all the crusaders where after one thing.

Liesel ducked her head, blushing all over again. "How poetic indeed," she said, voice going back to the playful. "Still, though, I feel lucky that you have allowed me such a thing. I wonder what I did to grant such a blessing? Besides know you for all my life, that is," she added with a smile.

That drew a chuckle from Sigiswald, he could tell her he liked her but that might be going over the line, but it wasn't like they were already in so many ways.He needed his charming tongue to come up with something that kept him from crossing that border. He couldn't at the moment," It might have something to do with the fact that your you and I like you that way. "I am glad of that- I do believe my heart would break if you disliked me." Liesel's tone bore levity, but there was truth behind those words. Indeed, it would cut her to the quick if Sigismund disliked her. She knew she was already getting too attached than was healthy for her, but she couldn't help herself. It was just how things were. Then she realized where they stood, and started. "Oh! Good heavens, we have walked almost to my doorstep." It was literally just a few feet away. "Would you care for something to drink? Ale, perhaps, or spiced wine?"

Sigiswald looked to the house and back to Liesel. She had done very well on her own and to see her invite him in was almost as if asking for more than just a playful friendship, she should know that, especially this late at night. What the people around here would think of her, he could not let people think bad of her," Liesel it is late are you sure you don't want to go inside and get some rest?" He asked, not really wanting to leave her at all, in fact he would love to come in and stay with her.

Oh. That had been too forward. All Liesel had been thinking was that he may want refreshment, and she was enjoying his company.... He was putting her off as gently as possible. Liesel prayed he hadn't misunderstood her intention and thought she was seeking a more intimate relationship.... An idea that Liesel pushed away before she could explore it more fully. "Oh, yes, of course. I- I did not realize. I beg your pardon. No doubt you're weary, as well, and wish to repair to your bed." She paused, and when she spoke again, she was unable to keep the note of hope out of her voice. "But I will see you for dinner tommorow evening, as promised?" She hoped she hadn't put him off even that....

Was it bad of her to feel that little upsurge of hope, there? Liesel knew she ought to be ashamed of herself, but she wasn't. Instead, she nodded. "I understand." Now a note of relief showed on her face. "And I am very glad that you will be coming by tomorrow. We will make you the best meal we possibly can, just you wait." Now, what parting gesture to use.... A curtsy was too formal, but would anything else be too personal?

Liesel blushed mightily, at this. That wasn't a show to impress his fellow soldiers, seeing as none were present to be impressed.... There was no one around at all, in fact. Her hand wandered up to touch the side of her cheek, a brush of fingertips. "I... I will be looking forward to it." Her voice came out somewhat lower and warmer than she had anticipated. Then a whim came to her- and she caved to it before she gave herself the chance to second-guess herself. Liesel stretched up to return the gesture, bestowing a light cheek peck of her own. Her blush got even stronger as she did so.

Liesel's fingers quivered as he held and saluted them. Just for a moment there, she had wanted to kiss him fully.... Shameless! I need to cease this! Right on a public street, and with no association! Widow or not, she had no excuse for such thoughts. But the desire was there, all the same.... When he released her hand, Liesel returned it to her side slowly. "Good night, Sigismund," she said, still in that soft, low tone. "I will see you tomorrow." Then she extracted her key from her pouch and opened her door. Looked back behind her once more before disappearing within the house's walls.

He took his time in doing so not wanting to hear the jeers and questions quite yet, although he was sure he could go up into the tavern and fall asleep without too much hassle. His steps slow and deliberate. He couldn't Get Liesel's image out of his head now.

When she got inside, the first thing Liesel did was light a candle. Then she found herself at the window, watching Sigismund's retreating figure until she couldn't even make out a silhouette anymore.... Only then did she let the simple curtains close.
Not to mention chastise herself- or at least trying to. Liesel knew she was acting like a lovestruck girl, mooning over someone from a distance. She knew that it would never be. But yet all her instincts yearned for him.
Yes, yearned. Liesel was recognizing the longing she felt; something not experienced in at least three years. Due to the nature of her marriage, intimacy had not played a large role. Yet when it had... Liesel had not minded it. Yet she'd been too afraid to say so, because "everyone" knew ladies didn't like it, and Wolfgang tried to keep it brief and rare so as to not inconvenience her, and she didn't want to disillusion him and seem less a lady, in his eyes....
But now those urges were reawakening, only stronger. Liesel had never felt this powerful a pull toward her husband, and that... that was sinful, wasn't it? Wrong. But it was there.
Liesel tried her best to put it- and him- out of her mind. But try as she might, her thoughts turned there regardless. And she could still feel his kiss on her cheek and fingers.

Sigiswald kept replaying the kiss Liesel had planted upon his cheek, how warm her breath was and delicate her lips were upon his skin. He never found himself wanting anyone an Liesel had him wanting her. Sigiswald tried to forget the feeling and worked hard to do so because the men would be able to see it in his thoughts, the way he acted. But to no avail. He sighed as he rounded the last corner and saw very few out but somehow all eyes where upon him, as if he had somehow had sinned and now god wanted him to be ashamed. No one jeered or made a comment as he made his way up to the room he was assigned. He entered to find the two beds empty, he took the cot and slipped out of everything that he could without getting into trouble and laid down under the blanket, his mind still reeling over Liesel.

Liesel did't know how she did it, but somehow, she slept. Erratically, but she managed it all the same, at least to a degree. She'd still tossed and turned a lot, in the night, and had dreams that she could not quite remember, but had left her flushed and sweaty and feeling as though every nerve tingled with unfullfulled longing.
Still, Liesel made herself get up, get dressed, go down to the storehouses. Her day needed to be as normal as possible. She'd still leave early, to prepare for the dinner, but until then, she had work to do. It was best to focus on doing it. Maybe it would distract her from these other, disquietingly earthy, thoughts.

So up he was and Sigiswald went down took another bath and was handed cloths and he dressed up in full uniform. He shaved himself clean and nodded at himself in the mirror, he was now presentable. Liesel spent her day down in the storehouses, going over accounts and checking the recently arrived shipment. A sack of pepper had arrived split and half-spilled; pepper was one of the more common spices, but still, it was a loss. Liesel was going to have to talk to the leader of the caravan about that. Accidents did happen, but she had to make sure it wasn't due to carelessness.
At mid-day, she took a break to eat something and stretch her legs. She was pleased with herself for working hard, this morn. In fact, she felt she well deserved going home in a couple hours, as she had determined, to see to the preparations of tonight's dinner. Yes, her maid could cook just fine, but Liesel wanted to have a hand in this personally. It felt too important to. Disquietingly important.

He could never tell them the horrors that he had seen, he only told of the wonders which were out there and how much he missed home. Liesel was brought up once but it was quickly dismissed before he could even answer, he said a small prayer thanking the lord. By mid-day he said his good-bye and made it to formation. Liesel's afternoon was distinctly circumspect. She spent more time in the storehouses, meeting with a would-be buyer; a lower nobleman looking to restore his stock. Spices were precious, and cxarefully bargained for. Liesel had learned not to yield, for many men thought she would be a soft businesswoman. Hence, she had to be even more resolute than any man.
Sometimes it was so tiring. Liesel loved keeping busy, but... there were times when she just wished she could be taken seriously. Wolfgang hadn't had these issues. It truly was not fair. Yet it was the way of their world....
Liesel had other things to worry about, though. After that meeting ended, she returned home to supervise the production of dinner. All the things she remembered Sigismund liking before, and the old favorites he requested. She was determined to make this the best welcome-home dinner ever. And she also needed to prepare herself for it. It was altogether too important to ensure she looked her best, this evening. Liesel wouldn't dwell on exactly why.

"Men, you are to call off and then a short breifing before you are let loose. " He shouted and on down the line they went till finally no voice was heard. "Men you are here only as passing through but As I understand this is home to a few of you it is why we are staying only a couple days before moving on. Stay in the Lords name, do not disgrace us and have fun. " He said men whooped and hollered. "Be back here tomorrow same time." He shouted as the men dispersed without so much as a say so by the top head. Sigiswald made his to his room he checked himself over and headed on over to Liesel's place, a slow pace even for him, but he did not want to seem like he was rushing or wanted to be with her ever second. 'Tis almost time.... Almost time.... That litany kept coursing through Liesel's mind like a wildfire. She had repaired upstairs an hour before to dress, and ended up running about in a state of utter distraction for much of it. Finally, though, she was ready. Liesel wore a gown of spring green, fitted in the torso down to the hips, and then flaring out into soft, loose folds to trail on the floor in a small hem. The front of the dress opened wide to show a deeper green inset, with ribbons of dull gold lacing across it to secure it firmly in place. The stylish cut called attention to her figure, especially the bust, for the neckline was quite wide-placed and somewhat low; such was the fashion. The sleeves had two puffs, banded with more dull gold, and then tapered straight down to her wrists from the elbow on, flaring out over the backs of her hands. Her hair was worn up, as was proper for a widow, and adorned with a simple green headdress.
Liesel just about jumped out of her skin when the knock sounded on the door. He's here! "No no, Greta, I'll get it!" she called, bolting down the stairs in unseemly haste. Liesel took a mere moment to settle herself before opening the door wide to welcome her guest.

He took her hand and kissed the top of it," You look lovely Liesel. And the family says hello as well. " He said remembering that before he forgot. Liesel's face warmed as he kissed her hand, but she smiled up at him all the same. His face was so welcome. "Why, thank you," she said. "Ever the gentleman.... Do come inside." Liesel ushered him into the house, shutting the door behind her.
As she did, the maid, a little blond girl of about sixteen, came forward, twisting her apron nervously. "Excuse me? Ma'am?"
"Yes? What is it, Greta?" Liesel asked, voice kind.
"I- that is, I- you know, I mentioned this morn- my mum- she- she just you know- had- you know-" The girl blushed. "Baby- and she's all laid up- really needs me at home this evening- but I see you've got company-"
Liesel cut her off. "It's all right, Greta," she said gently. "Your mother comes first, and I do remember. You run along home. I can take care of things here."
"But I-" She glanced at Sigismund.
"This is an old childhood friend," Liesel told the girl. "You have nothing to worry about. Just go home and help your mother."
"Oh, you're too kind, ma'am! Thank you ever so much!" She bobbed a curtsy and bolted from the house.
"Well," Liesel said, "it looks to be us, tonight." The idea made her blush, and she hoped to cover it by making for the dining area. "Please, come in, make yourself at home. Would you prefer ale or wine with your dinner?"

He looked to the little girl and could see in her face that she was hesitant to let Liesel stay in his presence. Was it his crusade cloths or the fact that he was male? Sigiswald didn't think he would ever understand. He followed Liesel into the dining area. He thought about her question for a second," Well wine would be nice. " He thought for ale was one way to get too drunk and fast with him and then who knows what he might do to Liesel without her having to be embarrassed. "You are dressed so lovingly tonight. I wouldn't have minded if you were just in your everyday cloths." He said. And it was true, she was pretty no matter how he looked at her.

"Wine it shall be, then." Liesel led the way into the chamber. It was a comfortable, homey one, with carved wooden furniture, a fireplace, painted stencilwork on the walls. "Would you like it warm and spiced, or as it is?" Liesel extracted a bottle, saved for a special occasion. To her mind, this counted as one. "And thank you," she added modestly. "About the dress, I mean. I certainly couldn't go about in just everyday clothes for company, now could I? No matter how long we've known each other. It's just not done." Besides, she wanted to look special for him- even though she couldn't say so. "You're very kind. Now please, sit down. The dinner is ready." Smells wafted from the dishes on the table, two dry-bread trenchers set out across from each other, as was customary. The trenchers would soak up sauce and juices, soften, and make the bread edible again.

Liesel stopped in mid-sip, at first unable to believe she had just heard what she did. Then she slowly set the cup aside. Her face was glowing with heated flush at the words... and how hearing them made her feel. She hadn't felt this sort of thing since she had been wed.... And not even like this, at that time. "Sigismund?" she said, softly. "Please... look at me. You... you have done me no wrong. I am more flattered than I can say that you think such a thing of me, at my age.... He had to get his head cleared, he was most likely pushing her to say such things. He was a knight of god and so many people where intimidated by him. Her eyes shimmered with suspicious moisture which she tried to keep from falling. "Yet... it would mean a great deal to me... if you would stay." When he crossed to her and pulled her close, Liesel made a soft sound of surprise. It was unexpected, that. But the warm circle of his arms felt so good. So right, even. Liesel didn't care whether this was appropriate or not, right now. She just knew how it felt. And it made her heart leap, to be this close, to be held in such a way, to be so gently saluted.... Part of it made her heart break just a little, while the other part made it twirl and sing. "As would mine, if it were you," she responded softly. Her head burrowed a bit more against his shoulder, almost into the crook of his neck. She could feel the warmth of his skin, there.

He didn't want to let Liesel go, he just held onto her. Closing his eyes Sigiswald imagined this memorizing every detail of Liesel so that he would never forget. The smell of her hair to the feel of her skin against him. He was in heaven standing like this.

It felt like time stopped, for a little while. Liesel was happy just to stay there, surrounded and safe within his warm strength. It was strange; there was a scent about him she could only describe as, well, masculine. It fit. They fit. Their bodies nested together perfectly. Years ago, Liesel had cherished dreams of being held just like this, by Sigismund. To have it happen now.... It was almost overwhelming. Her arms tightened, practically clinging to him.

Sigiswald rested his head on top of hers only after having kissed it again. His cheek nestled every so perfectly on her head, her smell overwhelming him. He was happy to be lost in this moment like this, happiness overwhelming him. Sigiswald wanted to stay like this forever even though he knew it would never happen.

Liesel made a happy little sound at the head-kiss, burrowing against him for a moment longer. Eventually, though, she sighed and looked up. "I... I do believe your dinner is getting cold," she told him quietly. "'Tis not that this is not lovely, for it is, but...." She trailed off. They couldn't just stand here forever, no matter how wonderful it felt.

To his own surprise he smiled down at Liesel and took a chance no other man probably would have dares. he cupped her chin and agreed," As is your dinner my dear.. " He trailed off as he kissed her ever so lightly upon the lips. Then he kissed the top of her hand. His heart hammered in his chest after having now tasted her sweet lips and seen those beautiful intoxicating eyes up close. He was left speechless. He dares something he could be slapped for and have every right to be kicked out of her house but it had felt so right to do so.

(You too!)
Liesel's breath caught, a sound high and soft and sharp. It had been at least three years.... Even then, Wolfgang had never kissed her terribly often. This was the lightest brush, the barest touch of skins. But suddenly, Liesel felt as though every nerve was tingling, like her blood started to course faster through her veins. Another dream of her youth had just come true, this eve.
A rosy blush suffused her features, and her fingertips wandered up to touch her lower lip, a look of amazement and wonder both on her delicate features. "Y-yes...." she said. That seemed all she was capable of, right now. Startled... but thrilled, too. This was something forbidden, on some level. But it held the promise of such great wonder, even beauty....

Sigiswald, placed his hand upon the small of her back and took her hand he had kissed and slowly led her to her chair and kindly pulled it out for her. He smiled, his heart still beating wildly he wanted to kiss her again and again, but that would truly be crossing bounds. He was doing enough as it was tonight. he almost thought himself mad.

Liesel allowed herself to be led to her chair, seated. She wasn't arguing with really anything right now, at the end of it all. If Sigismund wanted to kiss her again, she certainly wouldn't object.... Would he? Maybe even a bit stronger?... Liesel knew it was wicked to want such a thing from a man she wasn't so much as betrothed to, but she couldn't help it. She wanted more. Wanted him.
The blush lingered on her cheeks as she wondered how she would ever speak normally, for the rest of the evening. Her mind would keep dwelling on that kiss- and wondering if more would follow later.

He smiled and bent down and kissed her on the cheek before seating himself. "A toast to a wonderful woman who holds my heart in her hands" He said picking up his wine glass, glad he had chosen the wine now. He waited for that blushing gal to toast him back, or at least raise her glass.

Liesel released a tiny gasp at those words, pale eyes widening. Her hand trembled just a bit as she raised her glass in turn, toasting him. "And to the brave warrior who has unknowingly held my heart for many years," she said softly. Was that too bold to say? So admit she had cherished a tendre for him years ago, and that it was well on its way to returning? After all, he could not wed with her. Not at her age and apparent lack of fertility.

Sigiswald smiled and took a swallow of the wine before placing the glass down, He looked on to Liesel. " I never knew... " Was all he could say. He had dreamed about her, had held her name close to his heart, but never had he imagined that he held her heart as well. He was glad he was one for never going out every night or wasting away his money on girls and booze. This crusader would have to come home right back to Liesel.

Liesel lowered her eyes modestly. "Of course not," she said softly, visage a little shy. "When you left, I was but a girl of fourteen. You were my first, well, first love.... I figured a young man like yourself, strong and sure and ready to go to war for a noble cause, would never consider me, newly blossomed as I was. And then we didn't meet again until now... almost a full lifetime later." Only then did she look up, and swallowed. "But all that time, I never forgot about you. It may be wrong of me, but some bit of you remained in the back of my mind always.... Then, a dream of my youth, a part of the young girl full of hopes and dreams I was. But now... now, well, here we are...."

Granted it may be a lifetime later, but your still that youthful hopeful litle girl that i remember so long ago. "

The smile made Liesel feel warm inside. Indeed, her smile fairly glowed. "Truly?" she said, voice soft. "If I had known that then, I... I think I would have swooned from disbelieving delight! As you can see, I am much calmer now." Liesel took a fortifying sip of her wine. "I find it so hard to believe, that you thought of me all this time.... Briefly, the thought danced through her mind of wondering what it would feel like if those hands- Cease! That is wrong! Liesel shoved such sinful thoughts aside. "What would you ask of me that I could not give?" Liesel asked, still in that same soft tone. After all, she knew he could not marry her; not with the concern that she may well be infertile. "I know you will not ask me to harm anyone, physically or by robbing, cheating, or any such thing. Therefore, what might you want of me that I could not- would not- provide?"

Was Liesel suggesting? She couldn't be. He had to stamp down some wild thoughts before he acted upon them. "Liesel... I could never ask anything of you. Liesel swallowed. Was he implying what she thought he was implying? She wasn't sure. What if he wasn't? She would come across as a trollop. In fact, she worried she would, no matter what. But... given the fact that eight years of marriage had produced no children... the danger was distinctly lessened. Right? On some level, Liesel knew she was rationalizing something that she knew was sinful. But... if her motivations were pure... could it truly be wholly wrong? "I say the same to you," she said, voice quaking a bit at her own boldness. "If you ever so desire... I would willingly consent... to what you would have of me." Her statement was oblique enough that if she had misunderstood him, she would not shame herself in forwardness. But if she had not, he would understand.

He understood her words even as he understood it vague as they were, his heart went out to her for trying not to come across as a trollop. His hands enclosed hers. He felt like he was getting in way to deep and that he himself might come off as having only one thing on his mind, even if it was the tiniest truth. But he didn't want her to think that of him," I wouldn't want anyone thinking any less of you, for you are too fair a maiden to have such words spread about you and with the likes of me." He said, his words showing he had only suggested an did not really want her to think so bad of him. He was there for her not for himself.

Liesel nodded, a small movement. "I know," she said, practically a whisper. "You have never been anything but kind and considerate, and for that, I thank you. Yet I do not wish to rescind my words. I.. if care is taken... then I feel I can still give you what you need and have such a thing not transpire...." In other words, so long as they were subtle and discreet, such an event as they were both dancing around but not actually versing could potentially take place. Maybe it was too soon. Maybe it was jumping into something that would pull them in far deeper. But right now, Liesel didn't care. She simply wanted to do whatever she could for him.

Liesel wasn't certain what to make of the silence. Did he think less of her for her tacit offer? Was he just surprised that one such as she would make one? Truly, he did not value himself enough.... After a moment of looking into his eyes in return, she sighed and, with obvious reluctance, drew her hands back across the table. "Your dinner grows cold," she said quietly. Right now, Liesel didn't want to think about dinner. She wanted to think about being in Sigiswald's arms and holding him in return, sharing kisses and possibly even other, earthier delights. But unless he asked, she could not put herself so forward as to request it. A "lady" didn't do that. This was one of the key reasons she and Wolfgang had engaged in marital relations so seldom, really; Liesel would have liked it more often, but she was afraid he would have thought her less than a lady if she admitted that she did not mind his attentions the way he assumed she did.

Liesel knew neither of them was going to eat any more, at this. A tiny corner of her mind wondered what Greta would say, to see her hard work go uneaten.... Perhaps they would have it later. Right now, both of them only had one thing in mind- the unspoken promise of what they both wanted to share. Liesel set her hand in Sigiswald's, rising. Truly, he did not intimidate her, Crusader attire or no. One thing Liesel was secure in was the fact that with Sigiswald, she was safe. She cleared her throat. As they walked out, she paused. Should she take him to the sitting area down here... or upstairs? How far did he wish to go, this night? Liesel caught the nod in the direction of the stairs. Yes, she was right, then. With a light tug on his hand, she led him up; it was a slim passageway, the stairs made of simple wood. Had that case always felt so long, before?... Liesel didn't speak until they made it to her room. A simple affair, it was, a chest for clothes and a small wash table with a brush on it alongside the pitcher and basin, and of course her bed, covered with a multicolored quilt. "Would you like a candle?" Her voice sounded foreign to her own ears; low and... with an essence she had never heard before.

Right now, her whole world consisted of him, and this moment of utter connection they shared. He held her heart, and she wanted to show him. Holding him closely, Liesel kissed him back with all her feeling. She knew she was supposed to be still and passive, in this; that was the "ladylike" thing to do. But with Sigiswald, she could not. Liesel's breathing staggered, in the kiss. He made her feel small and slender; dainty, even. His hands were slow and gentle, though. Sigiswald made her feel almost as though she were being worshiped. It was a heady feeling. His touch, even through the fabric of her dress and the chemise beneath it, was more intoxicating than the finest of wines. She felt inhibitions slowly starting to seep away, and she kissed him more feverishly. Liesel knew not much about practical kissing technique, despite her eight years of marriage; so she was flying blind here, and hoped that Sigiswald would show her how he wanted to be kissed. And... did she dare touch him? He had not objected to her responding to his kisses- he seemed to like it, in fact- but would she be allowed to touch him, too? Or would he, like Wolfgang, prefer for her to lie still and let him do whatever he wanted, without acting? Or rather, assume that that was what she herself desired.

His hands couldn't stop for one moment as he pressed himself onto her. Sigiswald kissed her passionately now even with a hunger. Finally feeling not one touch from Liesel, his hand touched hers and brought it up to his chest. As if it was alright for her to do as she wanted. He let this passion course through him. Never had he experienced anything like this. More powerful than any heat of battle. He was trying so hard to please this lady who captured his soul.

Liesel had definitely never felt anything like this before. In a way, it was as though Sigiswald surrounded her. Yet there was nothing threatening or intimidating about it. Quite the opposite, in fact. She didn't realize he had placed her hand against his chest until she felt his heart beating under her palm. Liesel's eyes opened, widening. That... did that mean... he wanted her to touch him? The same way he was touching her? With a little cry that was swallowed by their feverish kisses, Liesel started to let that hand wander. Slowly, tentatively, at first, like she was testing the waters and ensuring that yes, this was right. But moment by moment, her exploration grew more sure and bold. Even through his tunic and surcoat, his strong, masculine form fascinated her. She just hoped he liked what she was doing.... Seeing as she was enraptured with both his wandering touches and these head-spinning kisses.

He was tantalized to take off some of the clothing but it didn't bother him as of yet and Liesel seemed to be enjoying herself now thoroughly. His hand went down and underneath her many layers of the dress to touch her leg and up to her thigh. He only hoped she was enjoying his hands as much as he was enjoying her," Such a soft loving touch... " He murmured with a heavy breath. His mind in a whirlwind of emotions, and very few thoughts.

Liesel's eyes flew open again, enormous, when his hand started skimming up her leg. So- it was- she didn't even know. Just that it made something inside her race, made her skin tingle, made warmth coil low in her middle, latent but insistent.... "You- you like?" she gasped, looking up at him with those enormous eyes, unknowing of the wonder and longing radiating from her gaze. Liesel was quivering like a taut bowstring, by this point. And here they were even still dressed! What would it be like when... a warm shiver rippled all over her skin, at just the thought. Indeed, Wolfgang had basically done what Sigiswald assumed, or not much more. He had only ever touched her long enough to prepare her, and then gotten the deed done and finished as quickly as possible. He had felt he was being considerate, demanding as little as possible from a lady who would obviously dislike such earthy interactions. Oh, how wrong he had been.... Sigiswald was awakening her to the possibilities of what a couple could share, even so early on. It was... almost miraculous. He was much grateful that Liesel decided to not trail her hands down, She would greatly be surprised again and he didn't want to alarm her. He could feel her quivering and it only made him ache all the more for her. Sigiswald wanted to do more, much more to please her but the cloths would be a hindrance for her, him not so much. (Don't worry about it. I've had a lot of practice writing stuff like this in the past, truth be told. Besides, my Mom is a big fan of romance novels, and she keeps passing them on to me. They help, when writing scenes like this.)
Truth be told, letting her hands wander below his waist never crossed Liesel's mind. She wasn't quite so lost as to forget that barrier, as yet. Right now, she was focused on touching Sigiswald's head, neck, chest, sides, arms.... His torso was fascinating enough, right now. Liesel had never before been able to explore a masculine body at her liesure, in this manner, and it was... remarkable. He was remarkable. Liesel wondered how she could ever show him just how remarkable she found him, not knowing that her little movements, the small sounds she made as he touched her legs, probably said it all just fine for her.

His hands shook a little as she explored him. Her hands soft and delicate, touching everywhere, leaving sensual trails. Hearing her noises only caused him to realize just how much she liked what he was doing, his hand slipped up further brushing a sacred place and placing his hand upon her stomach and exploring that area. His left hers to kiss down her neck and upon her chest. Sigiswald couldn't be any more concentrated on pleasing Liesel right now.

But warmth rushed all through her, and even when he began exploring her stomach, she moved again- especially when his kisses trailed to the upper part of her chest, left open by the cut of her neckline. "Oh...." Now she went limp and languid in his arms, hands just rubbing softly up and down his sides, shifting and bunching the fabric of his surcoat.

Liesel's eyes filled her face, when she saw Sigiswald's bare chest. It was broad, muscled, laced with scars, no doubt a marker of his years at war. She had never seen anyone quite so magnificent as this. When he leaned down to kiss her again, she lightly rested her palm against the broad expanse, marveling at the warmth of the skin there. Hesitantly, she let her fingers skim the surface, studying the muscles and planes. He was... fascinating. And at the same time, her own skin leapt slightly as his own fingers wandered across it... and she wondered what might come next.

He never once went any further, letting Liesel set the pace. he watched her in amazement, no one woman had ever just looked at him as she did. When they the scars they thought him marred and pitied him, he had seen it in their eyes. But here now, he felt not marred but having been a warrior fight for her, for this moment in time. He let his hand drift away and up to her face and neck and down to her chest. She was beautiful, very dip and curve of her, he loved looking into her eyes, it was like looking into her soul.

Liesel released a small cry as his fingers brushed the sensitive skin at her throat, her collarbone.... Her lower back arched, just a little. When he touched her like that, it was almost like a kind of reverence. The same feelings she experienced upon touching him. The look on his face as she had explored his scars.... The wonder had made her heart swell. Was it wrong to feel pride in knowing she could impact a man such as him, with a simple touch? Yet it made her feel strong. Womanly. More bold than she had ever been before. And above all else, privileged that this remarkable man wanted to give her such an incredible gift as this time together. They may not be wed, but still, Liesel felt fortunate to be sharing this night with him.

Sigiswald realized she rather much enjoyed this more than anything else he had been doing before and began to kiss the top of her chest and brush his fingers by her neck and along her collar bone, and as she arched against him, he pinned her back down before letting up, he was sure she might make something of that, but right now she was to intoxicated by her small cries and sounds to think of much else.

Liesel did let out a small gasp, when he briefly pinned her down. It caused conflicting emotions. Surprise, some confusion- and a jolt of desire. But that confusion was quickly eroded away by the attention being lavished upon her sensitive skin. Liesel briefly wondered what Sigiswald would do, were she to do the same to him.... Would she dare something so bold, ever? Reacting positively to his attentions was one thing. So was, even, lightly touching him with her hands. But would letting kisses wander about be too much even for this?

He could feel a hesitation," Liesel..." H said trough kisses, "Pleas... I'm yours to do with what you want." He looked up into her eyes and kissed her lips so lightly before going down her jaw and to her neck. His hands wandering down her arms and over her chest and anywhere he could reach down by her mid drift. He wanted her to be happy to do as she wanted.

Liesel's breath hitched. Did he truly mean that? That he wanted her to follow her instincts, not to be a "lady," and to fully engage and explore? It was too much to hope for.... But Liesel was going to hope for it all the same. "Then do come here," she said. Her voice sounded different. Low, sultry. The voice of a woman who was being well-loved, and who knew there was more to come later. Both to give and to receive.
(Sorry, but I really do need to go to bed....)

(( Its okay butterfly. Good night ))
He moved up so that he was completely on top of her and over her.He lowered himself onto his elbow, and tangled his fingers into her hair as he lowered himself so that his lips were barely touching hers. "I'm here." He said his voice now one worn and pleased. As if he had been through hell to come home to her.

Liesel didn't think her heart could pound any more than it already had been, but it was. The feel of him over her, like this, felt so... fundamental. His warmth, his strength, all of it.... It felt good, making her think of what would no doubt be coming later on. In good time, that is. Somehow in all this, her headdress had come off, her hair unbound, so now it spread across the pillow around her head like a coppery halo. Liesel loved the feel of his fingers woven amidst the wavy locks.
Liesel brushed her fingers through his hair again. "Thank you," she murmured, and kissed him. All this time, Liesel had been responding, not instigating. Now she became bolder and advanced, kissing him gently at first, but with increasing depth. After a few moments of savoring his mouth, Liesel started kissing across his cheek, along the strong line of his jaw, and then let her head dip to kiss down the side of his neck. And she hoped that he would like what she was doing.

Her small body underneath his, felt so wonderful. Still even though it looked as though he were the dominate one, he felt like he was in the presence of an angel. Her hair soft and fine, her glowing features. Sigiswald could only look at her in awe. She was gorgeous and here she was willing to be with him. Soon her lips met his and he was very delighted to find she did have the courage to be the one to start, he responded by exploring her body with his free hand. He moaned ever so low as she began kissing down his jaw and neck. This is heaven, he thought.

The moan made Liesel start- but then she realized that it was a good sound. He... he liked what she was doing. Liesel felt a surge of amazement, at that. But it also made her bolder, continuing her explorations all up and down his neck. It was strong; even there, there were muscles. His skin had a taste to it, of sweat and salt and... an essence that was simply masculine. Liesel had never noticed this before, and she found it intriguing. Enough to explore more. All the while, she moved a bit as he touched her; small movements, of enjoyment and encouragement. Liesel was naturally used to letting the men- or one previous man, at any rate- take charge, in such interactions. Instigating actions of her own was a novelty, for her. She felt fortune that Sigiswald didn't just allow, but encouraged, it.

He couldn't suppress another soft moan. She was wondrous. It was as if she was truly wanting to please him. He wanted to do the same for her. His hand never rough but gentle and caring. Sigiswald secretly never wanted this to stop. This was so wonderful, he wanted to hold her in his arms forever and be by her side, letting hershine in all her glory. His hand trailed low and up again.

Liesel was feeling much the same way. She couldn't believe that a man like this wanted her- and wanted more than just, well, a quick release. This felt the way Liesel had wanted her marital interactions to feel, but had never been brave enough to say so. Part of her wondered if they would ever share more than this one night. But the rest shoved that aside, and just gave herself up to the feelings. Yes, she very much wanted to please Sigiswald. He made her feel so wonderful, she wanted to ensure he felt the same way. She also wondered what it would feel like when things went even further; when there was less fabric in the way. She was beyond worrying about the wickedness of her thoughts, by this point. There was just now.

He wanted very much to strip the cloths that lay between them away so that bare skin touched bare skin, but she seemed to not want that and he didn't want to force things. She seemed more than content to wander about his chest with her succulent lips. He didn't mind this, but his hormones argued more than this. He fought the urges which made his own hands and lips seem all the more hungry for her. instead of light touches, they where more firm and his lips couldn't stop kissing her head and ear. The farther down she went the more his body responded.

They were close enough together, by this point, that Liesel could feel the level of his... interest. Yes, it was quite noticeable, right now.... A breathy laugh emerged, even as she continued her attentions. "Do you... like this?" she asked him, even as she nuzzled his neck. And she wondered how she may let him know that well, she was ready to take things to the next stage. Liesel was new to being brazen, and thus was not quite brave enough to say "undress me" or something akin to that. Then again, asking may not be needed, given that his attentions were starting to get rather more definite and urgent. Liesel increased her own in response, hoping to serve as a wordless endorsement of more involved activity.

He could only nod at first unable to respond. Then managing something enough to respond," I love this, I want this and more." He said trying to encourage something. This was all to heady of a feeling and he needed something to keep him from going overboard. Hes hands almost shaking now in such need.

"Then you may have the more, as soon as you wish it." Liesel drew his head in for another kiss, this one redolent with her own need. Her movements were just as excited as his own, even if she didn't have quite the same finesse of experience that Sigiswald had. But she wanted him to know that he could do as he wanted, whenever he wished; that she was more than willing. Desirous, even.

(( What are we wanting to do now my dear? Take this to PM or keep avoiding the inevitable? ))
Sigiswald was trying hard not to have so much nerves, His hands slipped up to her shoulders and slid the dress down so that his hands could touch her shoulders and a bit of her upper arms. He let the kiss linger letting Liesel have what she wanted. Ever so slowly he inched the dress down her arms, until if it went any further he would uncover her chest. He ran his hand over what he had exposed.

(So long as you're comfortable with it, I say take it to PM. Oh, and welcome back!)
Leisel felt warm shivers run all through her, as his hands skimmed her shoulders. It had been so long... so very long.... She sighed, a soft and long sound. "You may... do more if you wish," she breathed, brushing her her cheek against his. He had a bit of bristle there, but she really didn't care.

Sighing in relief he brought himself down on top of Liesel. He moved to the side and rested he wrapped an arm around her and moved her next to him. He loved the feel of her body next to his. He kissed her lips and put his nose into her hair and and inhaled her scent.

Liesel kissed him back, still feeling all wonderfully soft and muzzy from what had just transpired. She burrowed her face against his neck. "Never have I felt what I did just now," she whispered. "Thank you. Thank you...." Liesel just hoped he had enjoyed it even half as much as she had.

He held her close and murmured into her hair his response. " I would love to make you feel that way again if ever you want my lady. " Sigiswald ran his hand over her soft bare skin. He couldn't get enough of her. Even now he felt heady and in a dream.

Liesel sighed, savoring these lingering touches. "I would like that very much," she breathed. After all, it wasn't like she had to worry about conception. Not after all those years of childlessness in marriage. The woman nuzzled his chin, and even kissed it a bit. "Did... did I do enough?" she asked quietly. "You did all the work, and it was wonderful, but... did I please you?..." A certain shyness and uncertainty crept into her voice.

He liked it when she.... "You... you mean you would like me to... to take the initiative?" she asked, eyes widening. "I... I feared it would be seen as... as unladylike, for me to be... active in such things." A blush colored her cheeks. "You would not find it to be so, then?" Liesel didn't know much, given her limited experience, but after tonight she might like to try a thing or two. "If not, then... I would like to... to try that, sometime...."

running his fingers through her hair he said," I would very much like that Liesel, and yes I do like when you have your own mind, it lets me know if you like something or not and you... " He trailed a hand along her back. " show me what you like or love." He finished. Sigiswald had never known she had been so lifeless for Wolfgang. had he only had liesel for his pleasure alone? He would never treat a lady of his life like that.... Is that what he considered Liesel?

Liesel felt a pleased, warm shiver at the touch, but she felt too recently satisfied to engage in another round just yet. This was too lovely. "Then I shall tell you that I like that very much," she said, a bit of a smile in her voice. "Now, the same does go for you. You have to tell me what you like, too." She bit her lip. "I have to confess I still don't know a great deal about what actions please men...."

He hugged her close to his own body. "Then we will make this a learning experience for us both, because I don't know what pleases you." Sigiswald didn't know how to really take things. Did she want him to stay or go? He hoped Liesel wanted him to stay but what would the others say when they saw him leave in the morning. Nothing would irritate him more than others thinking ill of Liesel.

"I suppose I'm only learning the full gamut myself," Liesel replied. Her arms slid around him, holding him close. "Would... would you stay?" she whispered quietly. "Even if all you do is hold me like this, it will be enough..." She hoped it was not too brazen a request to make. But after what they had just shared, Liesel did not want to return to a solitary bed.

" I would love to hold you and sleep here." He sighed inwardly wanting everything she was offering. To bad he was only staying for a couple days before being off again. The next time she came back she might be married once more and be happy but for now he was satisfied with the way things where. He ran his fingers through her wavy hair and thought about her.

"Thank you." Liesel shifted against him, head pillowed against his shoulder. She wondered if she dared ask him to return the next night, as well. And also, she wondered how much longer he was to be home.... Was this for good, or was it only a temporary visit until he had to re-join the Holy Crusade? This... what they did together... it would not taint him, would it? No. It cannot! It had been something beautiful and wondrous. It could not be truly evil. Oh, but now she was thinking perilously close to blasphemy.... Liesel shoved those thoughts aside and burrowed closer, refusing to focus on anything except for the moment at hand.

A light touch of his hand upon her light skin. Sigiswald was loving how close she was. Liesel he hoped was enjoying this as well. "Would you like me to wash you later on or when we wake up?" He asked now just trying to be a gentleman. Sigiswald held her close and tight, a nip starting in the air but he didn't mind, it hardly bothered him. He was certain though he didn't want to leave now.

Liesel's head came up, at that. Wolfgang had never offered to bathe her. But the mental images it created.... Liesel swallowed before saying, "I should like that very much." She swallowed again before asking, more softly still, "Would you like for me to do the same for you?" It was a brazen thing to ask. But Sigiswald had said he liked her touching him, and wanted to see her take an active hand. So perhaps he would be receptive?...

"If you would like to." He buried his face into her hair and then came up to kis her neck and then a peck on the cheek. "Will it bother you if I washed you? Or is that something Wolfgang never did for you either?" He said starting to see a pattern that wolfgang was only there for himself and not this beautiful lady beside him.

Liesel shook her head. "Nay," she whispered. "It will not bother me." Her face buried against his neck. "Wolfgang never did that," she whispered. "He... as you may have gathered, this night, he... did not do much. He felt he was being considerate, for he believed that it was impossible for a true lady to enjoy such activities, and therefore he kept our interactions brief and infrequent...." She took a shuddering little breath. "By the time I discerned this, I feared to tell him otherwise, for he might have thought less of me were I to confess it. We were friends, you see...." Just never lovers. "He never made me feel as you do."

He held her close," I will do whatever you want to do and it could be dancing in the rain to serving you breakfast while you lay in bed. " He would do much more than that. " I promise you this. " He meant what he said. He was going to please Liesel in every way before he left once more.

A tiny burble of laughter came forth. "I will not ask you to cavort in the rain for my sake," she said, the hint of mirth still showing. As amusing as that mental image was.... "However... would it be possible... for you to return tomorrow night, perchance?..." It would take their relationship beyond this one night and into lovers. But Liesel was willing to do that; Sigiswald meant that much to her.

He could smile as well and ran his fingers through her hair and inhaled her scent." I would love to stay another night with you, we don't even have to do anything as long as I can just hold you." He hugged her in a sort of way and kissed her lips before settling down beside her once more.

Liesel returned the kiss, savoring the simple sensation of being able to do so. "I... I would like to do these things again," she said, now blushing just a touch. "So long as you do not mind, of course." Apparently there was still some lingering shyness about expressing her desires in this department. No doubt such an issue would take extra time to settle completely.

Sigiswald nodded," Of course anything for the lovely lady beside me. " He took her hand and kissed the top of it. He wanted nothing more than to be with liesel and now here he was. A dream come true. The chivalric gesture, in their current situation, was oddly heartwarming. "I will be certain not to make any unreasonable demands," Liesel said with a smile. "Now, I will say that the same goes back your way. What would you have of me?" She would do whatever it took to make him happy.

He could already see where this was leading but he wouldn't take advantage of the situation, "Only to see you smile." Thats all he truly wanted at the moment besides to make her blush because he was being much of a gentleman.

"I believe I can grant that. In fact, I already am," Liesel pointed out. Indeed, the corners of her mouth quirked up, widening the already-present smile even further. Sigiswald smiled at this," I will keep that in mind, But your all I need. " He sudden;y blushed and cursed himself inwardly for having been so forward and saying what he had truly thought. Now she might think him nuts or worse insane. He couldn't have that, not to see her looking at him like that.

Liesel's mouth parted slightly, eyes widening just a little. What he said... did that imply.... Her heart raced, just a little faster. He breathed a sigh of relief, and could smile with ease. She liked that he had said that. Liesel must think something of him by now, he was so bold all night and brazen or so he felt. Sigiswald felt it couldn't be any better. He kissed her and put his hand over hers.

Liesel brought her other hand up too, so she was cupping his face between them.
