Even in the world of the strange and unknown, there were those endless days of fun to be had. Back in our school days...What's that? You don't remember? Well, I hope that this story I'm about to tell you will remind you of those days, where even when it was boring, you and I had a wonderful time.

Thats the basic gist of the plot I suppose, so here's the character format! =D

Name-
Age-
Year-
Gender-
Race-
Appearance-
Personality-
Bio-

And heres my character!^^

Name- Kuro Akagami
Age- 17
Year-Twelfth year student
Gender-Male
Race- Black angel/Fallen angel
Appearance-http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t56/YukataKitsune/Anime2-1.jpg ((I'd have used my drawings of him, but they're all really old x3;;; ))
Personality- Some say he's 'The School Prince', handsome, kind, and smart, but he's really nothing of the sort. Kuro is a calculating bastard, who's intellectual and manipulative nature leads him to be quite the actor. The School Prince is a mask for someone much, much worse. He can be rather mischevious and can be nice for real, but really, Kuro doesn't have a reason to have faith in people.
Bio- For the most part, not very much is known about his past, and who he is. Just that he's family isn't incredibly rich, despite what his appearance might say, and that he has only his mother, father having died from an illness when he was 9.

Name- Airel Itori
Age- 16
Year- Eleventh grade
Gender- Male
Race- Neko/human
Appearance- Airel is short for his age at 5'4, and also very light in weight. His hair is shaggy and an almost white silver in colour. His bangs fall across his forehead diagonally and the hair tends to kick out a little in the back near his neck. He has golden eyes, and honey blonde coloured ears and tail. http://i34.tinypic.com/ofrcs7.jpg
Personality- Airel is shy around new people, but as he opens up to them, he'll show them the person he really is. He can be a little childish and selfish sometimes, but a caring person nonetheless. He doesn't like to sit still for too long unless he's being occupied by a book or movie. When he doesn't get his way, he often resorts to pleading and bribes. If that doesn't work, it takes him a long time to get over it depending on what he had wanted.
Bio- Growing up with a single mom who owns her own business, Airel didn't have many people to spend time with at home. He usually had to cope with babysitters, even at an older age, due to his mother's protectiveness. He's always preferred to be alone, even at school, so he doesn't have many friends to speak of, only a few. Basically he's had a good life so far, but it has always lacked in action and activities apart from his norm.

((Let's start~ =D))

The sun was high in the sky that day, typical of any day that was the beginning of a new school year. It was after all September, which, in Kuro's opinion might as well have been a season all it's own, what with being cold as fall, and hot as summer. Stretching his black wings out under the sun rays, he smiled lightly, walking through the school gate. This would certainly be an interesting year, he just knew it.

It was warm out that day, but the slight morning breeze was a little cold against Airel's bare arms. He shivered so slightly as he continued to walk across the school grounds, empty notebooks in hand. He watches as they all walked to their groups of friends, women gossiping and giggling, men laughing a little too loudly, and the freshmen wandering around with lost expressions set on their faces. Looking down at the ground, Airel cleared his mind of all thoughts and waited for the announcements as to where the students would be headed that morning. He was exhausted from the night before, for some reason he hadn't been able to get much sleep. His footsteps were light against the ground. If his friends wanted him, they would find him, that's for sure. For the time being, he just wanted to focus on the murmur of the kids around him and the wind sifting through his bangs.

A little ways away from himself, Kuro could see a flock of young freshman girls staring at him, a senior or two in the group, most likely telling them he was 'The Prince'. Kuro chuckled. What foolish kids, admiring him without knowing who he really was. Come to think of it, only one person did. His only actual friend at school, although, that person had moved away last year, so there was no hope of getting out of his act on school hours. Continuing on his path towards the school, he tried to ignore all staring and gawking.

There were a lot of people in the part of the grounds that Airel was now making his way through. He was cautious as to not step on any feet, even though it wouldn't do much to others considering how little he weighed. But he wasn't paying enough attention it seemed, as he bumped into a taller man. After stumbling to regain his balance, he looked up at the man with a guilty look on his face, "S-sorry," was all he said before he continued on his way. At least tried to. Of course, he forgot to pay attention to the crowd and tripped over a foot. The new multi-coloured notebooks his mom had bought sprawled out in front of him, and he hurried to pick them up. Airel didn't understand why he had gotten so distracted all of a sudden. Better make sure not to let that happen again.

Gazing down at this younger, clumsy boy, Kuro smirked. Leaning down he began to assist him in his task of picking up everything he'd dropped. After all, how could he not, being the 'Perfect Gentlemen' he supposedly was. He could hear people whispering now, things along the lines of 'who is that boy?' 'why is the Prince helping him' and so on. Not that he really cared anyways.

As the dark haired man handed Airel his books, he smiled sheepishly, "Thanks. I... I guess I'm a little out of it today." He looked up and realized who it was that he was talking to. It was Kuro, the "School Prince". Airel had seen him a few times around, but never really stopped to acknowledge his presence, not to mention talk to him. He was either lost in his thoughts or trying to prepare himself for a test, anyway.

It was then he realized how many people were actually staring at them both. There were a few groups of girls giggling, and murmurs were floating around. Airel tensed up, he hated being the center of attention. Even though most eyes were centered on the older boy, it still made him feel highly uncomfortable.

"Your welcome."

Bowing slightly, like a Prince, Kuro gave him a fake smile that looked so incredibly real, the people around them were fooled by it's brilliance. Which, Kuro supposed, was the most mary-sueish thing he'd done all day.

Blast this school. He was far from perfect.

Noticing how tense the much shorter boy was, he placed a hand on his shoulder kindly, and began to kind him out from the crowds attention. Whispering, he continued smiling fakely, "Do your best to ignore them."

Airel nodded slowly, "A-alright."

Even though he tried to do what Kuro had told him too, it was easier said than done for him. He felt very nervous under the watch of so many, and wondered how the "Prince" put up with this on a daily basis. He sighed and tried to walk it off, but there was hardly anywhere to walk to, it would be pointless to leave without a destination. It was twice as embarrassing as most of the ladies were a little taller than him, and not to mention intimidating standing beside someone who practically towered over his height. Airel's ears pulled back a little in nervousness, yet he didn't notice their movement. Sighing, he looked up at Kuro once again, "...I'm Airel. Nice to meet you."

Merely smiling down at him, the taller male removed his hand from his shoulder, "Kuro. It's a pleasure, Airel."

In all truth, he hadn't meant a word of that. But if he was going to continue his facade of an all around perfect student, then what was this but a small feat he danced around every day? Oh if only his dear friend was here, he would not have to act like this...This is going to be a long year..

"Which grade are you in?"

By asking this, he hoped to find out whether or not Airel needed any help finding things. If not, he was gone to the roof.

Airel sighed lightly yet another time, he already knew that this older man probably assumed that he was just another freshman. He knew he looked way too young for his age, some people even doubted that he could be in highschool, much less a grade away from his graduating year. It was a thing that happened to him often enough, so it was expected that it could possibly come as a minor shock. Smiling slightly, Airel answered, "Eleventh grade, and yourself?"

He hadn't need ask that question, he already knew that. But it was out of general courtesy, so he decided it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Honestly? He wasn't really all that surprised. Kuro hadn't really thought he was a freshman in the first place, but not knowing someone to begin with doesn't exactly help minor suspicions. Smiling down at the boy, as that was the only appearance he could use for people, the winged male answered, "I'm in the 12th grade."

As if the other boy didn't know.

No one got through three years of being in this school not hearing of him even once, which displeased Kuro in almost everyway possible. Deciding he might as well take his leave, the male stretched his wings a little-though he had no intention of flying-and took full strides. He waved to Airel, "Well, I've got to go. Good luck today."

And he meant that out of the goodness of his heart. Really.

Though the winged male was already a good distance away, Airel couldn't help but raise his voice a little so he could hear him over the crowd, "Thank you! G-goodbye!" He had stuttered the last part of his sentence for some reason, it's not because he's afraid of being heard, but merely because he wasn't used to using his voice at a higher level than usual. Yes, that must have been it.

Shortly after, the first bell rang indicating the start of the day and school year. Students were asked to report to their previous homerooms, all except for the 9th graders who were asked to all report to the gymnasium for their homeroom assignments. As Airel made his way through the crowd, many girls were questioning him about his brief meeting with the "Prince". Honestly, why was this such a big deal to them? They were starting to bug him, but he simply ignored the voices and stared at the ground as he began to walk down the school halls. Staring at the ground seemed to be his forté.

Having heard Airel, but being too far away to do anything about it, Kuro merely nodded politely and smiled in a silent 'Your Welcome' before continuing on his way. Where was the feather head going exactly? To his homeroom and then to the roof to ditch 1st period. It wasn't like it mattered anyways.Today was day one, and it was really more of a formal introduction then a class. One of the girls would definately give him his required things, and that would be that.

Entering through the homeroom door, he took a seat where he'd always sat, and waited quietly for the announcements.

Kyua
11-09-2009, 09:53 PM
After a short walk to the back corner of the top floor of the school, Airel finally arrived at his homeroom. He made his way to his desk quietly, trying to not make a sound but the tiny taps of his shoes against the hard floor. Homeroom 124 was a strangely quiet class, it consisted of your "smart" students, "artsy" students, the "loners", and your average shy adolescents. There was only one mere pair of chatty students in that class, and it seemed said two girls hadn't arrived yet.

Setting his books down on his desk, Airel took a seat beside a petite woman who was wrapped up in a book of some kind, gladly reading along. She hadn't at all noticed his presence. Airel half smiled, everything was just the same as last year, everything was good. No one was bothering him, only those three guys in his last year's science class ever would anyway. He hoped he wouldn't have to deal with them again this year, but hey, what were the chances of all four of them being in a class together again? One he could easily deal with, if it happened.

The announcements boomed a warm welcoming to the students and teachers, interrupting Airel's reminiscing of last year's events, both good and bad. He tried to listen intently, but it was basically the same thing as every year. There didn't seem to be a point to him... So instead, he turned his head to his favourite window and watched a flock of birds fly through the morning sky.

As they the announcements continued on, his homeroom teacher quietly handed everyone their schedule, and Kuro looked beside himself at an empty seat. Letting out a sigh, he decided it best to just pay attention to his schedule, and looked it over. His friend wasn't going to be back. No use yearning for it.

Finally, the bell rang, and Kuro smiled, exiting the room before sneaking off to the rooftop. Technically, students weren't suppose to be up there, but why should he care? It wasn't like he needed to go. So without further ado, he flapped his great wings and brought himself ontop of the little cave like thing that surrounded the door, and lay on his back. Maybe he could just lay here and tan, maybe get a little sleep? Yeah, that sounds nice...

Kyua
11-12-2009, 03:02 PM
As the bell rang, Airel grabbed the little pile of sheets that had gathered on his desk while he was spaced out and placed them safely in the cover of one of his textbooks. His homeroom teacher wished the students a good first day as they filed out of the room and headed towards their first period classes. Airel was the last one out, of course. He enjoyed sitting in the back of the class where he could observe what was going on around him easily and have a nice view of the window.

It wasn't at all a far walk to his first period class, it was merely around the corner from where he had been. Entering the room and sitting down at yet another desk, Airel waited for the welcoming of a new school year all over again. The teacher would give them some handouts, explain to the students what they would be doing that semester, lay down the ground rules... The same thing as every year before it.

Sighing, Airel realized how much of a drag this school year would actually be. The idea that it wouldn't actually be the same as before dawned upon him. He highly doubted his friends would even want to hang out with him anymore. Darli had found herself a boyfriend near the end of last year, a very clingy boyfriend at that, and she didn't want to ever leave him herself. One could say they were "perfect for each other". Too perfect... Airel thought to himself. She never wanted to be anywhere without him anymore, there was not even a slight chance that Airel could ever spend time with his video game buddy again. Or at least for a while...

And Caleb... Hell, no one knew where Caleb was or doing these days.

So naturally, being asleep and all, time passed quickly for Kuro, who wasn't in any of today's classes. Or atleast, not until the lunch bell rang. But that wasn't a class now was it? Hearing the ring, the winged male rose of his place on the roof, and hopped down. What the hell was the time? Glacing around he recognized a girl who had all his classes. Ah, she must be here to give me that sheet crap. The girl smiled at him, "Akagami-sama, I have the things the teacher's handed out!"

Giving her a nod, he took the papers from her hands, "Thank you Ariel. Might I ask, what time is it?"

"12:20, Akagami-sama."

He smiled again Brilliant, "Thank you Ariel."

Ariel merely bowed politely before leaving his presence. If one thing could be said about her, other then being Kuro's personal messenger -as he'd deemed her during their freshman year- Ariel was the school's "Princess". Unlike him however, she was everything everyone saw her to be, kind, smart, beautiful...

...and as Kuro spread his wings and let himself float off the edge of the school and to the grass below, he thought, I'm not interested in the least.

Throughout the first half of the school day, all was repetitive like Airel had predicted. He was relieved when the bell rang to commence the lunch hour, and after a short trip to his locker, the light haired boy made his way to the cafeteria. It seemed so much more crowded than last year...

Looking around for either Caleb or Darli, but having not the slightest amount of luck, Airel sat down at the table near the back window and slowly nibbled on his sandwich. Realizing just how boring it was inside, he decided it might be a little better if he did go outside and sat out on the grass for a little while. At least there would be a breeze so the air wouldn't feel so still like it was inside.

With a slight toss, he disposed of his sandwich crust before heading out through the cafeteria doors. Making his way around a few groups of friends eating together on the ground or at picnic tables, Airel found a nice place in the sun near a tiny oak tree and settled down there, crossing his arms across his chest and letting his eyes slide shut. It sure is a nice day...

As he walked around the school yard, studying the sheets Ariel had given him, Kuro's hunger finally checked in. He gave out a sigh, Lovely...I'll eat when its time to leave though. Because god knew if he waited to till Supper his mother would make unedible gruel. Kuro wasn't having any part in that.

Continuing his pace, once again, he noticed that not too far away, some girls were gazing upon him. That wasn't stalkerish in the least. Not at all. Glancing around he also took note that under a tree nearby was that boy, Airel, he'd met earlier on in the day. So, with a new goal in mind he chanced himself to see how the boy was, "Hello."

Kyua
11-15-2009, 04:50 AM
Hearing a familiar voice, Airel opened his eyes slowly and glanced up, "Oh... Hello." It was the guy from earlier, the one who was always being followed by the stares of girls which also led to whoever he was with. As it would be known, the second he arrived, Airel noticed at least five or six pairs of eyes on him.

He wondered why this man took even the slightest amount of interest in him to say hello again, he was just another embarrassing klutz. But nonetheless, Airel smiled at him and tried to make his appearance nothing but friendly and inviting. There was a curious part of him that wanted to know what Kuro wanted to know of him, or if he just wanted to be open and have a casual conversation with the boy who was destined to do nothing but sit alone for the rest of his days in high school.

ShionsCrystalDoll
11-15-2009, 06:43 PM
Truth be told, Kuro was actually greeting him for some form of company. Ariel was nothing special, and his old friend was gone...and even though he wasn't actually social by nature, his old friend who had been a people person had rubbed off on him.

So, when he merely smiled down at the boy before sitting -it didn't help much, Kuro was still ridiculously tall- Kuro wasn't sure he liked the feeling to it. It was too...nice for him, who really wasn't, "You didn't get hunted down did you?"

And by that he meant of course, by his curious, crazy stalkers.

Kyua
11-19-2009, 12:15 AM
"Huh? Eh, only a few... It was nothing," Airel answered quietly before looking around him cautiously, "Not like what you have to deal with... There's so many of them watching..." He paused, looking straight ahead, then turned back to Kuro. The winged male was so tall compared to himself, even more so when Airel was sitting down. This intimidated him a little, so he took advantage of the opportunity to work on the goal he promised himself he'd reach. That would be a bit difficult to accomplish, but he wouldn't give up on trying to be a little more outgoing...

Moving his tail out of the way, Airel patted the ground beside him gesturing for Kuro to join him by the tree where the sun seemed to hit just right.

ShionsCrystalDoll
11-19-2009, 01:13 AM
Taking up his offer, Kuro merely let out a low chuckle, "I guess. After 4 good long years of it though, I've learned to cope with extra attention."

For a moment he seemed to go off into thought, or, memory lane one could suppose. After all, it was quite the memory. Ahhh, it's a good thing he was there or I might've killed someone... and that was no joke. A strange smile came across his lips at this thought, and though it must've been a little scary for Airel, who probably didn't know where this was coming, he gave out a bit of a dark and creepy laugh, "Ahaha...Those were the days."

Somehow, he'd survived.

((Just so you know, Kuro's about 6''8. Seriously. His original bio (not the one on this thread) even says so xD;; ))

Kyua
11-19-2009, 10:13 PM
Turning and looking at Kuro with a curious expression that held a hint of worry, Airel asked, "What...? What days?" He had noticed his face turn dark in memory of something, then that laugh, and that made him wondered so highly of what it could have been. Not knowing information like this when he wanted to was nearly unbearable for Airel. That was the bad thing about being an overly curious person.

Maybe it was something to do with Kuro's family? Or his friends? Maybe those stalker girls... Or could it have had to deal with a complete stranger and bad timing? What if it was nobody but himself?

...Airel then realized he was doing it again. Going through every single possibility without knowing even a little bit of info. And with the most minor subjects, too! Why was it that he got so concerned over little nothings he didn't know?

(Aaaah, poor Airel! xD;; He's so tiny!! God, that's an insane height difference between them.
...I find it sort of cute in a way. =D )

ShionsCrystalDoll
11-19-2009, 10:36 PM
((He's not tiny, Kuro's just freakishly tall. Thank god he's done he's growth spurt to, cause his dad was 7 ft xD;;;; So yeah. Airel's only tiny in comparison to Kuro xD;; ))

Looking at him, as apparently the memory had ended, Kuro just smiled. Now why would he do that? That is, tell poor Airel which days those were? He certainly never intended to tell anyone. Oh no... That would be too much. If he told anyone, his mask would be revealed for the fake it was. Kuro couldn't have that, "Nothing important. Your better off not knowing anyhow."

A smart person would notice there was a strange edge to his voice. Almost threatening...

Kyua
11-22-2009, 01:05 AM
(( Eh, I still consider 5"3 pretty small, but that must be just me~~ xD ))

"Uh... 'Kay, then," Airel answered slowly. Since he had just met Kuro and still wanted to give off a good first impression, he thought that it would be good if he didn't bother him any farther. Honestly, if it had been someone he had known closely, there's no way he would have let them get away with leaving his curiosity unsatisfied. I guess I'm just selfish that way, he thought to himself with a silent chuckle.

Right then, he noticed a flash of long red hair in the distance. Actually, it was pretty hard for him not to notice after knowing his dear friend so long. There Darli was, practically attached to her boyfriend by the waist per usual. But goddamnit, she looked like she was having the time of her life even then. Momentarily distracted from his small conversation with Kuro, Airel drifted off into a longing for his old friendship with her. Well, at least she's happy... I guess that's all that matters.

ShionsCrystalDoll
11-22-2009, 01:21 AM
((Then I must be absolutely puny. I'm 5 ft ^^; ))

Seeing that Airel was drifting a little, he followed the boy's line of vision. Hm? What's this? A girl and her boyfriend? He wasn't exactly sure what to think. Was Airel just looking? Was it a friend? Or was it a crush? Honestly, he figured the last two options were probably the closest to being right, but you never know. Kuro could ask, but he'd just denied Airel an answer, so it would be odd if he asked for one now.

Instead, he just settled for sitting there.

Kyua
11-22-2009, 04:26 AM
(( Hey, never said short was a bad thing. Personally, I think short is really adorable~~ People who are taller than I am intimidate me most of the time xD;; Actually no, they intimidate me a lot. )

He watched Darli and her boyfriend walking together for a good minute, until they disappeared from sight over the hill by the main road. Probably going to lunch together or something. Suddenly, Airel realized he had gotten distracted once again, was hit by a little bit of guilt, and hoped the other male hadn't noticed. Turning around to talk to him again, he noticed that Kuro had been looking in the same direction he had been before reverting his eyes back to Airel.

Deciding to give him very brief explanation, he merely said, "That was just my friend."

ShionsCrystalDoll
11-22-2009, 02:42 PM
((Let's just be glad Kuro is a real person then. ))

"I see. Must be nice."

Yeah, Kuro didn't really have a 'friend' anymore. The other had moved, even if he hadn't wanted to, and he was forced to put forth incredible effort just to keep his mask on, at all times. Not exactly the funnest scenario. At home it didn't matter, he could just go to his room and be him, but he didn't like going back.

Staring up at of the leaves of the tree, to the sky, he let out a sigh, Well, this is just a fine and dandy mess I got myself into.

Kyua
11-30-2009, 07:38 PM
Giving a sympathetic smile in spite of himself, Airel sighed lightly, "For her, yes, it's very nice. She's so happy... But I don't seem to know her anymore, she's become... different," at this point he gave a true grin, "But what can I say? Things change. I'm glad she's found someone who loves her more than I could."

He stopped, wondering why the hell he could be so open towards someone he had just met that morning. And even more so why he wasn't being his shy self anymore. It's like they had known each other for years... But that wasn't the case, of course.

Then Airel realized how he had left off that last sentence. He damned his wording and attempted to correct himself, "I-in our friendship, I mean..."

...Well, that one didn't come out too confidently.

ShionsCrystalDoll
11-30-2009, 09:07 PM
Kuro merely smiled at him, "Don't worry, I understand. Things do indeed change...and I'm sure that will continue to happen for you."

Of course, he left that sentence off, like an omen. Naturally, he didn't mean it in a bad way. The 'Prince' never could. But 'Kuro' could. Fortunatly for Airel, he was acting as the former. Feeling as though Airel should be compensated for telling that to him, whom he'd just met, the black winged male spoke once more, "Well, you've told me something...what do you want to know about me?"

Fair's fair.

Kyua
12-06-2009, 05:07 AM
Airel stared at him for what seemed to be a long while, but what was really only a few seconds before answering, "W-well, I don't know. Interesting questions are hard to come up with without being too personal, aren't they?" He looked away up at the blue sky, as keeping eye contact with another person during conversations always made Airel jittery for some reason. He gave some common questions thought, as originality wasn't the easiest thing for him on a whim, then decided, "Perhaps... What do you enjoy doing during the school day?"

But before the other male could answer, Airel had a quick thought cross his mind as his eyes met the dark wings before him. That would be a better question, much less used than the other one.

"Actually, I've never had someone to ask about this before, and it's probably something everyday to you. What does it feel like to fly?"

ShionsCrystalDoll
12-06-2009, 08:18 PM
Kuro just chuckled lightly at his question. How did it feel to fly. How silly. It felt like any other thing. Normal. But he supposed it was freeing, which was probably why he didn't do it so often anymore. Stnaidng up, he pulled Airel up with him, "Wouldn't you rather experiance it, then ask me what feels like?"

He didn't give the boy a chance to answer however, because in a mere second they were off the ground. A good 20-35 meters above maybe? He wasn't counting. Holding the boy bridal style, he spoke, "How does it feel, Airel, to be in the air?"

Kyua
12-15-2009, 02:19 AM
Before he could even react, the ground was far beneath his feet and he was being swept through the air. Airel tensed up and held on to Kuro's arms with all the strength he had, which was actually more than you'd expect from a little guy like him. But just as quickly as the surprise came on, freedom set in.

Flying... Flying was amazing!

"This is... This is wonderful! Wow, everyone looks so tiny from up here. And look," he added with a somewhat girly giggle, "you can see the whole street from this height!"

He continued to squeeze Kuro's arms from nothing but his sheer pleasure.

ShionsCrystalDoll
12-15-2009, 11:34 PM
This made the winged male smile a little, knowing that the smaller boy understood what he felt just a little when he was up here, away from everything. The feeling he got that made him just want to fly as far as he could, away from the school, the giggling girls, the teachers and rules...He was king up here. Finding a nice breeze to float on, he did just that, speaking, "I'm glad you like. Is there anywhere in particular you'd like to go while we're at it?"

He watched as the buildings and people below shrunk very slowly. They didn't seem to be going very high, but he was okay with that. The feeling of being seperate from the ground was great enough on it's own, so what would be a great place to see from this height? Somewhere that wasn't far, somewhere that he couldn't go to very often on his own as well...

"Well, how about the... The beach?" Airel suggested quietly before nudging his way deeper into Kuro's arms for safety.

The beach? Ah yes, that's right. That place his friend used to drag him to during the summer. It was always so awfully crowded, but seeing as this was a school day, he figured it might not be so bad. Smiling lightly at the smaller boy, Kuro gave a short nod, "Alright. Beach it is."

Looking down to see where they were, he changed directions, heading towards the ocean line.

Airel's excitement grew as they neared the beach. The place he'd spend the majority of his childhood at, the place where he could relax and play with the hermit crabs he found along the beach, and the place where the sound of the waves crashing against the shore was the only thing heard aside from the wind. ...That is, if you could find that one special spot to be alone and away from the crowd.

And of course, he undoubtedly intended to go there.

Finally, as they were practically right above the beach, he let them drop from the air lightly, so as not to shock the poor boy. Normally, Kuro would just let himself rocket down and then spread his wings when he was quite close....but somehow he doubted Airel could handle that. Letting the boy down, he spoke, "Well, we're here."

And, for once, there weren't a lot of people.

As soon as his feet touched the soft ground beneath them, Airel removed his sneakers and kneaded the sand between his toes. He grinned and let that fresh ocean wind sift through his bangs. Without a second thought, he brushed his hand against the taller male's for a quick second and made his way forward. Unlike most other days at the beach, there wasn't any trouble trying to dodge little screaming kids or listen to the added disruption by the yells of their parents.

He turned around swiftly and gave Kuro a brief smile, then continued to make his way quickly across the sand, tail flicking gently for balance.

It mustn't be too far from here...

Watching Airel as he ran off, Kuro took in a deep breath. The salty sea breeze was the same as it had always been. Nothing had changed since his last visit to the beach. Well, besides the fact that there was infinately less people here anyway.

Deciding he might as well follow the smaller boy, the winged male began to walk after him. He didn't really need to run , he could stay at this pace and still keep up after all. Besides, what was the rush? It's not like missing a few classes would affect him of all people.

It was exciting for Airel to be with someone for once. Even if it was for such a short time, even though he had just met Kuro, even if this was way out of what he'd normally do with someone new... It just felt okay, it felt safe, and having someone else by his side was something he had missed for nearly five months. He planned to keep it this way, he was happy.

Nearing a sand dune, Airel turned around once more to see how Kuro was keeping up with his light run. Surprisingly he wasn't far behind, and in fact, was pretty much beside him by the time the little silver haired boy had come to a stop. Looking up and smiling gently, Airel spoke fairly quietly, "There's a special place on this beach I want to show you. I think you'll like it."

Gazing down at the other, Kuro nodded, speaking with a faint hint of amusement, "Really? Then it must be something."

If it was something he'd like, it would certainly have to be quite something. Kuro wasn't particularly picky, but his hates did outweigh his likes, so the promise of 'liking it' was rather interesting. This was also, of course, because he'd just met Airel that day, and it made him wonder if he was transparent.

"It really is," Airel added with a grin, then started back on his way, but at a walking pace this time. "I used to come to this place that we're going to as a child. I don't think anybody else even knew about it, I just stumbled upon it one day while exploring," he continued quietly before taking a tiny leap off the edge of a mountain of sand onto another below them. Eventually they came to a fence, at which Airel lifted himself up and over with ease.

The sand was covered with little patches of grass here and there, and not a soul besides the two wandering males were in sight. Airel continued to lead his "new friend" around, until they came to an area where the dry plants grew long over the sand and the ground seemed to dip in the middle. On the other side of the "dip", there were a large amount of bushes and the ocean behind them.

Brushing against Kuro's arm, the younger male beamed up at him, "Well, it's down here," he remarked, pointing to the dip in the sand.

Giving a nod, Kuro vaugely wondered how far 'down there' was, exactly. He was pretty tall, so not being able to see it in the least bothered him a little. Not that it mattered. As it was, this place had to be pretty downright awesome if he was going to like it.

For a moment he wonered if he should justify Airel's talking with words of his own, but simply couldn't think of anything that would be alright at the moment. Kuro came up with something short and bland quick enough though, "We'd better get going then, huh?"

"Yep, guess so," Airel added with a nod. He sat down on the edge of the dip and nudged himself gently into it as he disappeared under the tall grass. Underneath it all was actually a weird rock formation that the sand and grass was built upon that lead to a cave-like "lower level" of the beach.

When he made his way to the bottom of the slope that it had brought him to, he was standing in front of the waves. Looking up towards where he had come in, Airel raised his voice a little so he could be heard, "Alright, you coming?"

Making his way over to a pile of rocks that were piled to act like a chair or bench, the short male took a seat and looked out over the ocean from his private hideout while waiting for Kuro to come down. I wonder if he'll like it~!

"Coming!"

Using his wings to go over the tall grass, he let himself float gently down onto the secluded beach. Staring forward he took in the sight. It was really quite...nice. Quiet. Pretty. Something that seemed to fit his solitude nicely. Kuro almost smiled. Looking around a little more, he caught sight of Airel and made his way over to the boy.

Sitting down beside him, he ruffled the boy's hair, "Not bad."

That was a compliment. Short and sweet. Well maybe not sweet so much as it was blunt...

Shaking his head lightly to put his hair back in place as well as that could do, Airel grinned a little. He assumed that Kuro liked his hideout, even if it could be just a little bit, but that made him happy. He liked the place because it was cut off from the rest of the beach, quiet, cool, and always had the sweetest breeze. It had been so long since his last visit there.

Leaning back and closing his eyes, Airel took in the peaceful atmosphere and simple relaxed, hoping that his "new friend" wouldn't mind doing the same. He took in the salty smell of the ocean and the distant sounds of seagulls overhead. How lovely it was to not have to worry about anything for a few minutes and just take some time off from-

"Oh sh-...! Don't we have to be back at the school by now?" Airel broke in surprisedly, jolting up into a sitting position. He had never been tardy or absent from school without a valid reason, not ever, not once! He didn't know what to expect what he would get when he got back, would it be bad? He hoped not.

Now, Kuro had been letting himself go, peaceful for once in this place. He'd been visualizing things that would probably only have contented him, even. So, naturally, when Airel jolted from his lax position it startled him too, regardless of how generally unscareable the black winged male was.

....and it was even more surprising when he found out why the boy was so startled. Letting out the tiniest of sighs, he spoke, "Well, I suppose. I can get you back there quickly if you want, but I think I'll stay here."

To show that he really meant it, Kuro raised his arm. The air shimmered momentarily, before a small gateway appeared. He could have done this prior to coming to the beach, but Kuro was limited to one long distance teleport a day.

Hopping to his feet in a sudden but graceful manner when he saw the gateway open, Airel was just about to rush through in a hurry before his thoughts stopped him cold. To a good amount of people, jigging the second half of a day of school would've been nothing. But Airel was his mother's "perfect child", and having a report from the school if he was caught wouldn't be the best thing.

But... Wait. Why would someone strive so hard to be perfect, and what would one get from it? You can be average and get the same amount of respect, right? Hell, the "average" kids at school even seemed to have so much more friends than Airel ever had! He started to have these little thoughts about how the major stress he sometimes went through probably wasn't worth being so well mannered and pleasant while doing whatever others would ask of him. There was another side of himself he'd like to bring out more often, that was for sure. Even if it meant being rude, at least he wouldn't be following the program step by step like a mindless robot programmed to do so.

"Does missing a bit of school... Really not matter that much?" Airel asked curiously with a tiny voice. It was true, he didn't want to leave his favourite place just yet. This was so much better than sitting in class and listening to the teacher ramble, that was certain. And even if he did get in trouble, would it make such a huge deal to be bothered about?

Watching the boy suddenly rush towards the gateway, only to stop, Kuro chuckled quietly. He and Airel were certainly quite unlike eachother. Waiting, he sighed, focusing himself on the gateway. Airel would have to make up his mind sooner or later, this wasn't exactly easy. Everything but a teleport was.

As he seemed to be processing a some sort of thought over the matter of tardiness, Kuro tried to be patient. When he did speak, the taller male listened without making an interuption.

The question, rhetorical or no, was amusing. He smirked, "It does to the teachers, and the students who believe it does. Whether missing some time or not matters is completly up to you."

Hmm... Well, I guess...

Honestly, almost anything but going back to the school was fine with him now. He just didn't want to be seen coming in late, because the teacher would probably make a big fuss over it. Even if it was only the first week of school. Airel would much rather pretend that he had gotten sick during lunch time and went home, his mother wouldn't even know the difference as she got home at 9:00pm that day.

Walking away from the gateway and sitting back down beside Kuro, Airel smiled up at him apologetically, "Sorry for having you make that and have no use for it. I don't care, I'm not going back today."

Closing the gateway, Kuro only gave him a nod of acknowledgement. It didn't matter to him either way, using that portal. Even if it was the quickest way out, once per day. Leaning back, he closed his eyes, "Don't worry about it."

What he wouldn't give to just fall asleep here. That would be nice. He might even stay here until tommorow morning if he could. Oh, that would be a hoot. She'd be throwing things for days... With the mental image in mind, he smirked a little.

Feeling a sudden burst of excitement from defying the rules that he had followed his whole life, Airel's childish side had a quick chance to take over. He hopped down to Kuro's side, the end of his tail flicking gently back and forth, and leaned over him curiously.

He didn't have that complete want to just lay back and soak up sunbeams like he had had just a few mere minutes ago. Now he wanted to see what reactions he could get from his new companion, from which he had warmed up to unusually fast. It was weird, seeing as how it usually took him a few weeks to do so with other people, but he wasn't complaining.

It was so nice to have a new "friend"...

So there he sat, tail swaying and twitching rhythmically to the sound of the waves, looking down upon those closed eyes patiently.

It didn't take the black winged male very long at all to start recognizing the slight paranoia induced by someone staring at you. So, opening one eye lazily, Kuro simply closed it again, chuckling a little, "You're a bit like him..."

A bit indeed. Who would have thought Airel would resemble him at all? Personality wise that is. Physically he was quite different. The more difference there was, the better actually. He didn't want the two people to start overlapping in his vision. Kuro wouldn't know what to do then.
