(okay...i think i got a way in mind....)

Kiste was running for her life....being accused a shadow fiend in the land of Fae meant death. She'd done nothing but help the people of her village, but because one thing went wrong-they all turned on her and wanted her gone. Thus she was running in the woods to try to get to the safety of the boarders of the land of Fae to the land of shifters on the other side....

Aiden sat near the base of the tree in the land of shifters near the borderline. He held a book in his hand reading it quietly.

Kiste's wings were clipped...she couldn't fly away...and the soldiers were gaining fast...she had only a short way to go now. She ran as fast as she could till she could see the small stone wall that separated the lands.....and leapt over it....not watching and landed on someone....

Aiden blinked a bit as he felt someone fall on him. He looked at the little fae in his lap and looked on the other side. He c'ocked his head to the side a bit.

"please....is this the land of shifters...if not i'm sorry for falling on you...well either way i'm sorry about that but it's urgent that i know where i am..." Kiste said hurridly...

"This is the land of shifters. What's wrong?" Aiden asked moving his book out of the way. "Who are you running from?"

"Fae soldiers.....after me....i did nothing wrong....i didn't know the prince was allergic to pine...it was in one of my remadies and now they wish to kill me for one mistake...." Kiste visablly shook and could hear the rustle of trees from the soldiers that grew nearer...

Aiden closed his book up and stood with her. "Get behind the tree. I'll get them away," he said pushing her slightly to the tree. He shifted into the wolf he became.

the was a bit of a hole where she was pushed and hid in it shaking like a leaf...


the soldiers came swiftly and lowered by the wall.."you there, wolf, have you seen a lady fae come this way?.."

Aiden snarled, showing his fangs, but shook his muzzle. He stepped back a bit and growled, snapping at the guards.

the leader bowed his head..."well thank you for your time...i'm sure we just skiped over her and she was hiding.....sorry to have bothered you wolf..."

Kiste's breath was held in her throat...

Aiden watched them leave before shifting back into his human form. He walked back over to the fae and reached out a hand to her.

"t-th-thank you..." Kiste said...taking his hand to get up..."how could i ever repay you?.."

Aiden nodded and helped her up. "Come into the village," he said calmly.

Kiste nodded in return....."i shall then..."

Aiden slowly shifted into his wolf form again and pushed her onto his back with his nose.

Kiste was not too surprized and held onto her savior tightly..

Aiden took off in a light run, heading to the village he lived in.

Kiste held on tight, she didn't want to fall off, so she burried her face into the fur back that she rode upon...

Aiden slowed to a light walk before stopping at the edge of the village. He nudged off so he could shift again.

Kiste let go once her feet hit the ground....and waited for her savior to shift...

Aiden shifted and looked at her.

"what is your name sir?..." Kiste asked...

"It's Aiden," he said. "And what is yours?"

"Kiste..." She said..and thought...'aiden....a strong name for a strong shifter'

"Let's walk into the village Kiste," Aiden said taking her hand lightly.

she nodded her face turning a little pink from him taking her hand...

Aiden lead her into the village and the other shifters came out of their houses to look.

Kiste kept her eyes to the ground....she felt a bit like she was being put on display....and felt very shy at the moment..

Aiden reached the elder's house and slowly opened the door. "Elder Tokoda. I have brought you a visitor," he said bowing slightly.

Kiste stayed outside a bit until she knew she was welcome inside....she could feel so many eyes on her...

"Ah, the little fae," Tokoda said nodding as he turned to face the doorway.

Kiste walked into the building and bowed low....she knew to not talk until spoken to, thus she remained silent..

"Aiden close the door," Tokoda said calmly and Aiden complied. "Come closer little fae."

Kitse walked closer to about two feet infront of the elder and bowed again....she was taught to bow for each time you even think of steping closer to someone who was a higher rank than she....

"What is your name little one?" Tokoda asked smiling at her.

[Bambi_TakingOverTheWorld]

"Kiste....Kiste Lilly...sir..." she said....not letting her eyes meet his...

"You can look at me. I'm just a harmless old man," Tokoda said looking at her.

[Bambi_TakingOverTheWorld]

Kiste looked up to him...."my appologies sir....it was how i was taught to respect not only my elders, but my superiors...." she said....

"She came to this land, sir, because soldiers of her own kind were hunting her," Aiden said stepping closer to the older man. "That can't be any good," Tokoda said looking at Aiden.

Kiste's body trembled slightly....she had to stay calm about all of this....or else the shifters might cast her away as well....

"Do you have an extra room, Aiden? You must have since you live alone in the cottage of yours," Tokoda said stroking his own chin. Aiden looked at him and then Kiste. "She can stay with me for the time being," he said nodding his head.

Kiste processed this in her head and realized...she'd be staying with her savior.....

"Of course by Miss Kiste's allowance you may," Tokoda said chuckling a bit. "She's the one who has to approve of it."

Kiste looked between the two of them..."to be perfectly honest....i'd stay anywhere so i don't have to go back to the Fae lands..."

"I'll show you to my house," Aiden said nodding.

Kiste nodded in return....

Aiden led her out of the elder's house and walked to his cottage.

Kiste followed Aiden and continued in awe, the little cottage seemed just so perfect.....

"It's not much," Aiden said opening his front door.

[Bambi_TakingOverTheWorld]

Kiste just looked at it..."it's so quaint...i've only ever seen cottages like this is folk-tales...."

"Let me show you to your room," Aiden said stepping inside of it.

Kiste nodded and followed him...

Aiden went to the back of the cottage and opened a door.

Kiste just followed along silently.....

"This will be your room," Aiden said showing it to her.

"thank you Aiden...for all of this...." Kiste said....not able to look him in the eye...

Aiden looked at her and lifted her so that she looked at him. "There will be no looking down in this cottage alright?" he asked.

Kiste nodded...."sorry...it's a bit of a habbit..." she just watched his eyes...

"Just as long as you don't do it often," Aiden said nodding before he headed off to the kitchen.

"um...Aiden..." she stopped him before he got too far....."um......t-thank you.....for everything...."

Aiden looked at her and nodded quietly. "You're welcome," he said before turning around to finish his trip to the kitchen.

Kiste walked into the room and it looked so beautiful....so she closed the door after stepping in and sat on the bed...it was so soft....and she leaned back and instantly fell asleep...

Aiden began to make something to eat.

Kiste woke with a start due to the pain....her wings were trying to grow back, and it hurt like hell and she whimpered....

Aiden stopped while chopping some lettace and looked up. He set the knife down on the counter, going to where the sound originated.

Kiste's teeth and hands were clenched tightly...and her shoulders started to bleed so she moved, painfully from the room to the bathroom, with a lucky guess, and collasped on the floor from the pain....

"Kiste?" Aiden called as he looked into her room. He cursed before checking the other rooms.

Kiste whimpered in the bathroom....from the pain, she couldn't talk...but she shook like a leaf...and her wings started to grow back, painfully from her shoulders....and blood dripped onto the lanolium floor...

Aiden opened the door of the bathroom last and looked at her.

Kiste was shaking on the floor, on her hands and knees.....blood spilling fro her shoulders, from where her wings were growing rapidly outward....

Aiden slowly walked up to her. He knelt down beside her, not carrying if his jeans got dirty with blood and lightly touched her shoulder.

Kiste whimpered slightly, and shook more...she was also crying....growing fae wings back was a painful process, but usually a quick process...

Aiden slowly rubbed her shoulder.

Now her wings were completely back, and bloody, and she ceased her bleeding, but still shook from the previous pain. However, now she was able to speak...."I-I-I'm s-sorry a-about t-th-the bl-blood..." she managed to get out..

"It'll clean up," Aiden said calmly. "It will. I promise."

soon she was able to move, but she was shakey..."I-I'm sorry a-about t-this.......th-they clipped my w-wings before i-i esc-scaped....."

"It's not your fault," Aiden said calmly, helping her up to a standing postion.

Kiste stood, then her legs gave out due to her blood loss.....

Aiden caught her swiftly and kept her standing up.

"i-i'm sorry...." she said...."i-i guess i-i'm more of a h-hassel th-then he-help...."

"You are no such thing," Aiden said picking her up and carrying her to her room.

Kiste felt as Aiden carried her as if she weighed nothing....and her heart raced....she went to look at the floor but remembered what he'd said and looked up at his face...

Aiden placed her on the bed. "I'll bring you something to eat," he said calmly, walking to the doorway.

Kiste really felt like a burden just then eased herself onto herside to relax...

Aiden walked into the kitchen and finished up the salad he had been making.

Kiste just felt tired once more and fell asleep...breathing calmly now...her eyes were shut...

Aiden came back with a small bowl of salad for her.

Kiste was fast asleep, breathing steadily...

Aiden placed the bowl on the nightstand calmly.

Kiste turned for a moment in her sleep, onto her back and winced slightly....her shoulders were still tender...

Aiden watched her for a moment before walking out of the room.

Just then, Kiste began to speak in her sleep....and muttered something about Aiden....and other small things....

Aiden walked to the kitchen and began to eat the rest of the salad.

Kiste woke up a short time later.....she never was able to sleep for long periods of time....she looked around the room and saw the bowl of salad and smiled lightly to herself and picked up a piece of lettce and chewed at it...

Aiden washed the dishes in the kitchen that had been dirtyed up.

Kiste continued to munch on the leaves of lettce...

Aiden leaned against counter, drinking some milk he had power.

Kiste went to the bathroom, slowly to get a glass of water....

Aiden closed his eyes a bit.

Kiste wanted to go down stairs with Aiden....but she didn't want to seem like a snoop or a bother....so she just stayed up in the room...

Aiden swept his bangs away from his face.

Kiste managed to find some paper and started to write....it was one of the few things she was able to do, without someone telling her it was wrong......

Aiden gave a light sigh before heading up to his bedroom.

she left it lay upside down on the stand and went to the window, sitting on the sill. She didn't know why she wrote about love....it just...was there in her mind....

Aiden pulled his pajamas out of the closet and put them on the bed.

Kiste hummed to herself softly watching the moon and the gentle twinkling of the stars in the dark blanket of sky....

Aiden gather his pajamas and took them into the bathroom.

Aiden stopped in the middle of the hallway, listening to her.

Kiste never noticed Aiden, and quietly sang the words....but kept looking at the stars....thinking of her childhood past...

Aiden looked into her room before going into the bathroom.

Kiste's past was a sad one, and silent tears fell from her eyes....she missed her home....but could not return...all her belongings and memories laid now in ashes....due to the burning order given by the king.

Aiden dressed in his pajamas as he looked out the small window in the bathroom.

Kiste soon cried herself, silently asleep on the sill, her head resting gently against the glass.

Aiden walked out of the room and looked into her room once again. He stepped in quietly, picking her up gently to place her on the bed.

Unconiously, Kiste snuggled her head closer to his chest, he felt so warm ....and she murmurred in her sleep....

Kiste stayed asleep this time...until about 5 in the morning when she awoke, she found herself tucked into bed, when she'd remembered falling asleep on the window sill....she blushed at the thought....

Aiden shifted in his bed before opening his eyes. He gave a short groan.

Kiste walked quietly down the steps....well not really walking, more like floating-because of her wings- and got a nice cold glass of water...

Aiden got out of bed and headed downstairs.

Kiste was standing by the little kitchen window, he hip resting gently on the counter, holding her cup of water...

Aiden stepped into the hallway and looked at her.

Kiste felt eyes on her and she turned her head and saw Aiden...."um...g-good morning..." a pale pink rose upon her cheeks..

"i hope you slept well...." Kiste said....looking from the ground to Aiden, back to the ground..

"No more peaceful than I usually get," Aidan said shrugging.

Kiste nodded...."I don't think i can thank you enough for all you've done Aiden..." she laughed a little nervously...

"You don't have to thank me," Aiden said calmly, shaking his head.

"but you've been so kind to me.....i must thank you....in some way..." Kiste said...

"from how i was brought up, i must thank you.....in some way....name it...really.." Kiste said..

"You don't have to," Aiden said shaking his head.

"yes i do......you helped save so......i'm in your debt" Kiste said...

"You are not in my debt," Aiden said making breakfast.

"you saved my life.....i owe you...big time...." Kiste said..

"You don't," Aiden said shaking his head a bit.

"yes i do!" Kiste said..."you helped save my life so i owe you a life debt..."

Aiden looked at her calmly.

Kiste set her glass into the sink.....then turned to him...."what?.." she saw him just watching her so calmly...

Aiden shook his head a bit before finishing up the meal.

"I don't want to say anything right now," Aiden said calmly.

Kiste let out an agitated sigh....her wings twitched a little....

"Breakfast is ready," he said pulling out two plates.

Kiste looked at him.."need any help setting the table or something?.."

"I don't use the table," he said shaking his head.

"well, if you don't mind me asking......why not?.." Kiste turned her head to the side curiously...

"I don't know," he said shrugging.

"well there's got to be a reason.." Kiste said..

"There's none," Aiden said looking at her.

"then why not sit at the table?.." Kiste said..

Aiden shrugged a bit.

Kiste took her plate and sat at the table...."well i'm sitting.."

Aiden nodded and began to eat.

Aiden put his plate down and walked out of the kitchen.

Kiste took longer to finish her breakfast....and took it upon herself to wash the dishes....

"I'm going out for a run," Aiden called as he exited the house.

"um...okay.." Kiste said aloud...then thought to herself.."it's your house do what you want..."

Aiden shifted into his wolf form and took off into the woods.

While Aiden was gone...Kiste went up to the bathroom to soak in some warm water.......

Aiden came home after a couple hours and shifted back.

Kiste was still soaking in the bathtube, trying to get some of the blood off her wings.....

Aiden walked inside the cottage calmly.

Kiste was getting pissed off....no matter what she tried..she couldn't get the blood off her wings...

"Kiste?" Aiden called out.

All that could be heard was a frustrated growl from upstairs...

Aiden followed the noise upstairs.

Kiste scrubbed and scrubbed but the blood still wouldn't come off her wings....and she threw the soap at the wall and growled...

Aiden knocked the bathroom door.

Kiste grabbed a towel quickly and put it around her.."come in?.."

"Everything alright?" Aiden asked.

"i can't get the blood off my wings...."

"Want me to help you?" he asked.

"if you would please.." Kiste said..

Aiden stepped into the room and picked up the soap.

"i tried scrubbing and scrubbing....but it wouldn't come off for me.." Kiste said..

Aiden nodded and walked over to the tub. He began to scrub lightly around her wings.

Kiste's wings twitched a little at his touch...

Aiden watched her wings quietly.

Kiste clutched the towel closely to herself...

"It'll be okay," Aiden said softly.

Kiste nodded..."is it coming off?.."

"I believe so."

Kiste let out a sigh..."thanks.."

Kiste slipped back into her opened backed dress from before and then went down the stairs...

Aiden sat on the small couch and looked up at the ceiling.

Kiste stumbled on the last platform and landed on her stomach when she hit bottom......

Aiden looked at her and stood up. He lightly took her arm and lifted her up.

Kiste sighed..."i can float, and yet, i still trip down the stairs..."

"Don't let it get to you," Aiden said smiling.

"i just feel like a failure as a fae..." Kiste hung her head...

"You are not a failure," Aiden said shaking his head.

"a screw up then....." Kiste muttered...

"Don't talk bad about yourself," he said , making her look up.

"why should i?....it's true isn't it?....i'm nothing more than a clutz..." her face seemed a little sad..

"It's not true," Aiden said calmly, looking into her eyes.

Kiste sighed..."then why do i feel like i am...."

"You've been treated like it," Aiden said calmly.

Kiste let her gaze fall again, to Aiden's shoulders....his chest......then to his feet....and her heart went a little faster....

Kiste could just feel his eyes still on her and she looked back up to meet them..

Aiden sighed a bit and went more into the living room.

Kiste couldn't help but go with him..."um...Aiden....if you don't mind me asking......why were you here by yourself?.."

"I haven't found my mate yet," Aiden said shrugging a bit.

Kiste nodded..."how long have you been trying to find her?.."

"A while now," Aiden said looking at the ground.

"i bet she'll come around soon...." Kiste gave him a small smile..

"I hope she will too," Aiden said looking up at her.

"don't hope.....believe..." Kiste said....

"I'd rather hope," Aiden said looking at her.

"but hope leads to doubt..." Kiste said...

"I'd rather have my hope given up than my belief faded away," Aiden said looking at the ground.

Kiste could feel his spirits fall..."and you tell me to not be so down...." she shook her head....."she could be out there right now waiting for you.."

"I want you to be happy," Aiden said calmly, glancing at her.

"eh i'm just a sap....i'm a sour fae.....don't worry about me...." Kiste said....then changed the subject....."so how do you know when you'v found your mate?..."

"You can find that out," Aiden said walking up to her. "In the back of the cottage, there's a library."

Kiste's ears perked up.."tell me which way to go...wait never mind....i can always find books.....they have a distict sort of musty smell to the pages....unforgetable......." she got up and nearly ran to the back of the cottage..

Aiden watched her and pushed back his hair a bit.

Kiste found the books and smiled....books were one of the few things that she used to pour herself into....then thought aloud..."alright.....first need to find out how these books are sorted and go from there....."

Aiden walked out of the cottage and sat on the porch lightly.

Kiste found the books she was looking for in no time....

Aiden looked up at the sky, studying it quietly. He closed his eyes, letting his head rest as it was, pointing to the sky.

Kiste picked up the book and ran out to the living room to show it to Aiden, but he wasn't there.....and she called out.."Aiden!! where are you! i have to show you something!"

"Out on the porch," Aiden called back.

Kiste went out and held out the book....."that page there tells you how you know who your mate is!"

Aiden looked at the book, blinking a bit.

"okay....now what do you think about that?......" Kiste asked....a little anxious....

"I don't know," Aiden said standing up.

"okay......think about the past couple of days.....anything?.." Kiste asked...

Aiden looked at her a bit before rubbing his temples.

"Yeah I understood," Aiden said looking at the floor.

Kiste lifted his chin.."now what did you tell me about looking down in this house....."
