Chapter 1
The alarm clock near Shihoko Hita’s bed rang loudly in the quiet room. Shihoko awoke with a start and a yelp escaped her throat as she fell out of her bed due to sleeping too close to the edge. As the alarm clock continued to ring, the young seventeen –year-old sighed heavily. With a swat of her hand, she hit the clock against the wall of her room, silencing the annoying noise.
Maybe I can get some sleep now. She thought as she crawled back into her bed, resting her head on her pillows. Right as she began to drift back to sleep, her door flew open and a young girl ran in, jumping onto Shihoko’s bed.
“Shihoko! Mom told me to tell you to get up! It’s almost time for school!” Serenity Hita said as she jumped on the bed.
“Okay, okay, okay! Now stop jumping on my bed you maggot!” Shihoko huffed, irritated for the interruption of a few more minutes of sleep time.
Serenity giggled and hopped off the bed. Shihoko studied her sister, lifting an eyebrow. They both shared the same dark eyes as their mother and the brown hair of their father. Even though Shihoko’s hair was longer than Serenity’s at the moment, it basically looked the same; all full of body and very beautiful. Shihoko didn’t have the adorable little dimples in her cheeks like Serenity, but she had the prettiest smile…or so she had been told.
“Shihoko, why are you looking at me like that?” Serenity asked.
Shihoko blinked. Guess I did it again huh? “Sorry Serenity. I was thinking and you were in my line of vision. And before you ask anymore questions, get out so I can get dressed!”
Serenity left the room and Shihoko finally got up from her bed. She walked very slowly into her bathroom, dreading the thought of going to school that day. The sound of her shower running distracted her from her many thoughts as she stripped down and stepped into the hot shower. She yelped again as the hot water touched her cold skin and she quickly washed up. After her shower was completed, Shihoko wrapped her dripping body with a black, fluffy towel before stepping back into her room.
What to wear? What to wear? Shihoko thought as she stood in her closet, staring at the many school uniforms she had. She finally picked out the one that all the girls wore on Monday’s and she quickly got dressed.
“SHIHOKO, TEMAE MUSHIRO SOUSOU!!!” Her mother’s loud yelled traveled up the stairs to her opened bedroom door.
“HAI! RAIRIN!!” Shihoko yelled back as she grabbed her shoes and ran downstairs.
Her mother, Megumi Hita held out orange juice and toast for her daughter as Shihoko ran out of the door.
“Bye guys!” Shihoko waved to Serenity and her parents.
“Have a nice day at school Shihoko!” Megumi yelled after her daughter.
