Remember when you held me, before you went away? How I said 'I love you' and you kissed my head. You bent down and picked me up and spun me around in a pattern.
Holding me again, I beg you not to leave, you wipe away my tears and kiss both my cheeks. 'Darlin' I'll come home, I will be here always...I promise you this.'
One year went past and only one letter came. Then there was a man in black to appeared on my front doorstep. I fell to my knees as he turned back to the herse. I choke on my words and hold back the tears as I realize...that my soldier has gone away.
