Angel was at the party with her parents. She had on a white dress, it looked almost like a wedding dress. She sat at a table and rested her head on her hand and her elbow on the table boredly. Aerona sat in the back of the ball room. Many people she had niether met nor seen before talked to her and her parents like they were old time friends. She sighed and crossed her white gloved arms. The black dress shimmered in the dull lights of the rooms.

She walked down the grand staircase, her light blue dress trailing behind her. Her orange hair stood out against it, like the sunset over the ocean.

'All of these old people..........I feel like I'm in a nursing home' Angel thought, acanning the room. 'Whi do I of all people have to be here? I'd do almost anything to switch lives with a normal person....' A waiter came up to Angel and held out a tray "Caviar miss?" he said politely "No thank you." Angel said with a fake smile.

Mei walked into the ballroom, her hair billowing out behind her in what mother would call a "grand entrance". She sighed, but put on a fake smile as she was paraded to a group of guys. She hated this, it was as if she was to be on display. Her dad retreated to a group of some research buddies, while her mom basked in some glory from a few rich fans. She sighed, but accepted the first invitation to dance. It was a waltz. 'One-two-three One-two-three', she thought, swirling around the room. This guy was an elegant dancer, but wouldn't talk at all, and had his eye on a blonde with a short dress in the corner.

Jii walked out to the balcony. "god, this party is so anoying!" She said to the night. "Why do I have to be stuck here?"

Mei was spun around, and kept spinning away, ending with a rather abrupt stop. She stood still for a minute, then smiled sarcastically at the guy, giving him the finger. She walked away hurriedly, her hair sweeping off her shoulders, trailing down to below her waist. She nearly ran to the balcony, and stopped, out of breath, next to another girl.
"You got that right." She huffed out, leaning over the railings.

"I swear my mom's puttin' me on display, tryin' to pair me with someone so we can have more money, as if we don't have enough." She did a classic rock pose, or 'peace', as she introduced herself.

Angel watched everyone. She watched as one woman laughed the most annoying laugh you could ever hear. It didn't sound bad at all, it was just annoying. Her mother was talking to an older woman until her mother beckond her over "Angel, dear, come." her mother said in the preppy voice. Angel picked up her dress and walked over to her mother. "This is my daughter Mrs.Prell." Her mother said in a cheerful tone. Angel curnceed ((or how every you spell it:p)) "Pleasure to meet you." angel said in a really fake happy tone. "She is just delightful." Mrs.Prell said.

"Who's this, honey?," she asked, her hands on her daughter's shoulders. They were about the same height, which was about 5'7. "A possible boyfriend?!"
Mei blushed brightly, her face turning incredibly red. "Mother... Please..." Her mother grinned brightly, sure she had struck gold.
"Well, he is really cute, I'll leave you two lovebirds alone." With that she walked over to her husband, chattering excitedly.
Mei stood there, dumbfounded and embarrassed.

She stumbled slightly as they swirled, but regained her balance quickly.

Mei was close to tears. The first guy she had liked in ages... and her parents had ruined it. Apparently his parents and her parents were working together to ensure their unhappiness. Her mom turned to her, her eyes softening, but her expression still hard. "Now honey, don't you understand what he was going to do to you? He'd catch you offgaurd and then..." "Shut up! He isn't like that! There's no way, no way! You just had to come and ruin it! It's always like this, why can't I have a normal life?!" Mei had tears running down her cheeks, and she started running from her parents. Kicking her shoes off, she ran towards the cherry trees, the pink blossoms calling out to her. 'Why, why, why, why, why?! Why can't I have a NORMAL life?!' Her mind screamed out. She kept running, coming to rest at the trunk of the cherry tree in the center of the gardens.

Mei was sick of having to fit an 'image' all her life. She wanted to be normal. Not rich, not fancy, not famous, normal. Jack was running behind her. The wall that kept her anger and sadness hidden had broken, and the emotions were rushing out like an overfilled dam that had broken.
"I-I can't s-stand this. Why can't I be n-n-normal?!" She sobbed into the trunk of the cherry tree, her tears streaming down the bark, glistening in the night. A little bit away her father was talking to her mother, trying to console her. Her mom had broken down like she had, but her dad could help with that.

Jack reached Mei,despiration glistening in his eyes.HE grabbed her and hugged her tightly,his head on her shoulder.
He pulled her up,so he was hugging her from behind.
He swayed with her softly,humming a sweet tune in her ear,as they danced softly in the night.
Again he felt everything drift away as the velvet sky engrossed them.

Mei's hands were on his forearms, gripping them softly. Her tears were stopping, and the silky night enveloped them. Red waves of hair fell down her shoulders, and she hummed along with the soft tune. Her eyes still glistened with tears, but they seemed more full of wonder than sadness and frustration. 'All I wanted was a normal life... And even now I feel unique... But in a good way.' She thought, moving from side to side with Jack.

Mei had calmed down. She wasn't usually one for outbursts. She closed her eyes halfway, feeling Jack's breathing on her neck. The moon was bright, and the cherry blossoms were falling from the trees. Mei started to speak. "I, I'm tired of this charade, this facade. I just want to live my life, you know?" She didn't want to be in the tabloids like her mother, or the National Geographic magazines like her father. She just wanted to be herself.
