That made him smile.

His silver hair flopped in his icy grey eyes, drum sticks gripped in his hands.

"Fine" Mizuko said. She slid off of Hikari's shoulders and landed on her butt. "Ow... Pain... Pain.... Pain...," she chanted. "Anyway, I gotta run downstairs and grab my CDs. I'll go drag up your karaoke machine too," she said ((Pretend you have one >>)). She sped off, leaving Nic and Hikari alone. She mentally cackled.

Nic woke up to his alarm clock the next morning. he looked at it quizzicly for a moment. he didn't remember setting it. oh well, whatever. the memories from the night before came back into his mind and he put his head in his hands. remembering back through the whole school year Hikari had been acting like that the whole time. it was so obviose, how could he have missed it?

Nic looked at his clock. it was 9:30. he was supposed to be somewhere.... BAND PRACTIC! he had compleatly forgot! in a rush, he grabbed a shirt(he sleeps in his jeans without a shirt), threw it on, grabed his guitar and tried to pull a brush through his hair as he ran down stairs. "Aw, man." he said to him self, grabbing a poptart and rushing out the door to his bike, "I'm gonna be late again."

"Yupps," Mizuko answered. She slipped on a helmet, which was a dark blue with a sky blue lightning streak on the sides, outlined with a nice shade of cerulean.

"Alright you two." Nic said, swinging his leg over his motersycle and kicking the starter. "Hang on."

Nic laughed as he pushed off and sped down the street. there were no cars around so he didn't have to worry about running into anything. the wind felt great in his face, his shirt flapped around him as they rode at top speed. even though his mother didn't approve of his bike, he loved it.

"Okay," he said pulled back on the handles a little bit to slow the bike down. they were going about 20 as they reached the school's outdoor stage where they practiced. he slowed down even more and stopped infront of the stage. "We're here." he said, seeing Hikari's eyes squeezed shut. "Is my driving that bad?"

"No, it is AWESOME!!" Mizuko said, "It's just that Hikari's a pansy D=."

Nic felt awful leaving her like that. He needed to ride. Pushing off, he sped down the block. he didnt' stop at his house, his shower would have to wait. all he wanted to do right now was ride, fast, and not stop until his head was clear. that could take a while.

Nic rode around the block a couple of times. why did life have to get so complicated? it was all so simple in middle school. oh sure, every so often a kid would make fun of his hair, but other than that, life was pretty good. now halfway through high school and things were starting to get complicated. his best friend.... the kid he'd known since 3rd grade, liked him as more than a friend. and he wasn't even sure how he felt about her. he really needed one of his guy friends to talk to, Justin, Chase, or maybe Kinsey. just somebody.
