[Hikari Hoshi]

"Well i want to make sure." Winry said, knocking on her brother's door.
"Who is it?!" Ginza called from the other side.
"Winry!" Winry called back.
"Kay." he called and she walked in and put her hand on his forehead, and felt his cheeks.
"What the heck are you doing Win?" Ginza asked, trying to move away from his sister's probing.

Mari had heard Ginza and her eye twitched slightly. He's never gonna get it...

"I'm trying to make sure you're alright." Winry said, continueing her examination.
"What?" Ginza asked again, "Why wouldn't I be alright?"
"Mari said you were sick at her house." Winry replied.
"Oh... yeah, but i'm fine now Winry." he said.

Mari breathed out in relief as she heard Ginza's reply faintly. "Thank god..." She muttered.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Did you say something Mari?" Winry asked into the phone, holding it between her ear and her shoulder as she probed her brother.
"Winry! I'm fine!" Ginza said, "And are you talking to Mari? Can i talk to her?"

"Yeah. I said 'thank god'. As in 'thank god, Ginza's okay'." Mari said smiling. "And if Ginza want's to talk to me, just let him."

[Hikari Hoshi]

"I thought you said he was fine when he left." Winry said suspiciosly, "Why would you be thanking God that he's okay if you already knew he was okay?"
"Win, just let me talk to her." Ginza said, reaching for the phone, but she jumped back, fluttinering a little bit with her wings.

"Well, I was thinking that he might have gotten worse is all." Mari said, still smiling.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Why would he if he was getting better when he left?" She asked, still keeping the phone away from her brother.

"I have no clue. It just hit me that he might have gotten worse. Like that time I got the flu. It kept getting better, then worse, then better again."

"Yes but this is food poisening not the flu." Winry said, holding her brother back with her foot.

"Eh, good point." Mari said and put the speaker on so that she didn't have to hold it to her ear.

"Of course it is!" Winry laughed, "I'm the smart one! Now do you want to talk to my silly brother?"

Mari giggeled slightly. "Shure. Put him on." She said smiling happily.

"Fine." Winry said, "Here." she tossed Ginza the phone and flew out of the room.
"Hey." Ginza said, smiling madly once Winry was gone, "How was the council?

Zegana turned away "it's as much my fault as yours." she said.

"Today it was abit different. For the first time since I entered the council, I had a fight with the head of the council. It turnsout that he's got alot of power. I almost got thrown in a cell, annd they almost gagged me."

Stephan took her chin in his hand and turned her head so she was looking at him again, "Don't ever blame yourself." he said softly, his fangs bared a little, "Never think it was your fault."

"Why?!" Ginza asked in alarm, "What happened?"

Mari smiled slightly. "Don't worry so much, silly. I'm fine." She said, "I was only trying to get Zegana and Stephan outa there."

"Stephan?" Ginza asked, "Stephan was there? Why?"

"Well, it turns out that he's a vampire now. Zegana turned him." Mari said plainly. "I don't really know any more then that."

Zegana turned her eyes still refusing to look at him. "Stephan, it was my fault. you know it as much as i do, now stop pretending it isn't!" she said her voice soft.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"What!" Ginza exclaimed, "Sorry, I got to call him, I'll talk to you later." he hung up the phone and rediled Stephan's home number.

"Look at me." Stephan said, "LOOK AT ME!"

Mari sighed and walked into her closet, looking at the various clothes in it. Finaly she chose a black and white striped tshirt and a pair of jeans. "Man... I hate the council..." She muttered, looking at the blook on the cloes she was wearing now.

Stephan's mother answered the phone with a semi-cheery "Hello."
"Hey, is Stephan there?" he asked. he could almost hear her heart breaking as she said, "No, he.... he hasn't come home yet."
"oh, i'm sorry." He said softly, "Sorry." he hung up the phone and called Stephan's cell.

"NO!" Zegana said defiantly.

Mari sighed and changed quickly. She lay down on her bed with the phone next to her and fell asleep.

"ZEGANA LOOK AT ME!" Stephan nearly shouted. His phone rang in his pocket and he swore under his breath before taking it out and looking at it, "Ginza." He said under his breath.

Zegana stood there too shocked to move.

Stephan hesitated a moment then answered it, "Hello." He said.
"WHAT THE F*** MAN!?" Ginza yelled at the phone, "I just got off the phone with Mari and she say's you're a vamp. now!"
"Yeah, this isn't a good time." Stephan said.
"I don't bloody care!" Ginza said, "Dude, you run away from home, worry your mom sick, now this?! What the f***!?!"
"This isn't a good time!" Stephan repeated, "I'll call you back." he closed his cell and turned back to Zegana.

Zegana looked at Stephan a slight thread of fear in her eyes.

Stephan sighed, "I'm sorry." he said softly, "I should go." he walked into the apartment and grabbed his bag. not bothering to grab the stuff he'd left struen around the room and walked back out.

Mari curled up in a tight ball and bit her lip softly, as she slept on.

Ginza hung up his phone. throwing it on the ground. after a moment he picked it up again and called Mari back.

Maris head snapped up as the phone rang and she picked it up. "Hi Ginza." She said, knwing it was him.

Zegana watched him through tear filled eyes. she did not want him to leave but still, what had just happened scared her.

Stephan walked out the door and down the street headed to park.


"Hey," Ginza said, "Sorry about that."

Zegana followed Stephan at a distance, no matter what she did not want him to leave.

Stephan sat down on a park bench and put his head in his hands.

Zegana came up behind him, wraping her arms around his shoulders "please come back..." she wispered in him ear.

Stephan jumped a little then sighed, "Zegana..." He whispered, "I... i can't."

"why not?" Zegana asked softly "lets just go home... it'll all be better..." she bit playfully on his ear.

Stephan pulled his head away, "I.... I can't.... I just...."

Mari smiled. "It's allright. Did you find anything out?"

"He said it was a bad time." Ginza said, "He doesn't talk anymore. He ran away from home a while ago and his family is worried sick."

Mari blinked. "You're joking, right?" She asked.

"Not at all." Ginza said, "He just took off in the middle of the night. He's probably staying with Zegana but i'll never tell. that's betrail of trust."

"I'm not telling either... Not to anyone." Mari said, laying back down.

"No... But they should be home soon I think." Mari repled, looking out of her window

Ginza smiled a little bit, "Okay, I guess there's no coming back over then?"

"Don't think so. Unless you just come over to watch a movie or eat or something like that."

"Yeah, I could, but i think my mother would murder me for spending more time away from home." Ginza smiled a little, "I think she feels neglected."

Mari giggeled. "Poor her. How about I come over there?"

"You could." Ginza said, "Would your mom mind you not greeting her when she gets home?"

Mari heard the front door open and smiled. "It's fine. I'll be over at your place in a few moments. They just got home." She said and stood up.

"Okay," Ginza said, "Love you." he hung up the phone slowly and laid back on his bed.

Mari put the phone down and walked into the hall. "Hi, you three!" She said, beaming at her mother, Lisa and Kaia. Kaia scoweled back and Mari rolled her eyes. "I told you to hide from the council, Kaia. Now go hide." She said and Kaia sighed. "I'll be back in a few hours. I'm just oing over to Ginza's for abit."

Ginza got up and told his mom that Mari was coming over for dinner and then went to make his hair somewhat presentable.

Ginza sat at his window, looking out at the streets, waiting for Mari.

A figure stood up, and Mari backed away sligthly as she saw gleaming, razor sharp, white teeth and red eyes.

Ginza frowned as he looked out the window. she should have been there by now. he was starting to think something might be wrong.

Mari turned on her heel and started to run, but a hand grabbed her wrist, jerking her back. "Where are ya goin'?" A rough male voice asked her, and she struggeled to get out of them man's grip.

Ginza looked behind him to make sure his door was shut tight then jumped out the window. He flew around the city in search of Mari.k

"Let go of me!" Mari yelled and slapped the man with her free hand, but he only laughed. "Sorry darling... That didn't hurt at all."

Ginza saw Mari getting attacked. Rage boiled in his vains and he dived toward her attacker, kicking him down as he landed in front of her. "Are you alright?" he asked, not taking his eyes off of the man.

Mari smiled and hugged Ginza. "Yes. I'm alright." She said, and kissed his cheek. "Thanks to you."

The man groweled and stood up, glaring at Ginza. "Ginza... Let's get out of here..." Mari whispered in Ginza's ear, worried.

Ginza nodded a little, picking her up and jumping into the air swiftly. he flew back towards home.

"No prob." Ginza smiled, kissing her softly. he landed just outside his loft and put her down.

He chuckled softly, "I just did what any selfrespecting knight in shining armor would do." he teased lightly, kissing her again breifly before taking her hand and leading her inside.

He smiled down at her as they walked into the kitchen, "Hey mom." He said as they walked through. she waved a little over her shoulder, "Hello Mari how are you?" she asked.

"Come on," Winry said, "Dinner's ready." She took her friends hand and dragged her to the dinning room as Ginza followed.

They took their seats at the table as Ginza's mother brought out a big bowl of salad which she placed be side a steaming pot of spaghetti.

"Thank you." His mother smiled. "Ginza will you say grace?"
"Grace." Ginza said Winry rolled her eyes.

Mari sighed slightly and poked him under the table so noone would notice.

He grined a little at her then bowed his head and said grace.
"Now was that so hard?" His mother asked, passing the salad around first.
"Yes, it almost killed me." He laughed. taking a little bit of salad wtih a lot of rance dressing.

Mari took some salad and some dressing, and passed the salad bowl to Winry.

Winry took some, "Save some dressing for the rest of us Ginz" she scolded her brother. he shrugged, taking a roll and passing them to Mari.

Mari smiled and rolled her eyes slightly, taking a roll and passing them on to Winry. "No shrugging. That's a command. Save some for the rest of us." She said, laughing abit.

Ginza laughed, "Yes ma'am." he said, in a military voice. taking some spighetti.

She smiled, "I have chocolate cake and ice cream which do you want?" His mom asked.
"Choco cake." Ginza and Winry said together.

Ginza's mother smiled and went into the kitchen. when she was gone, Ginza leaned over and kissed her softly, "Can i have a differant desert?" he whispered in her ear.

"On what?" he asked, nipping her ear a little at an angle that Winry couldn't see.

Mari grinned. "We were discussing wha was better. Ice cream or choco cake."

"That's the dumbest question ever." Winry said, "Of course Choco cake is better. now what were you really talking about?"
"Why is it so hard to believe we were just talking about desserts?" Ginza asked.
"Because i know you too well."

Mari raised her eyebrows. "Well, choco cake is better, but it depends on what icecream and if you can eat it with the cake."

"Good point but still, choco cake is the best." Winry said, still looking at her brother through slitted eyes.

Mari smiled and took a bite out of the cake. "So that's why I said, ice cream coverd in choco cake."

Ginza chuckled, shaking his head slightly as he ate his cake and the girls chatted.

"Stephan you don't have to worry about scaring me or hurting me or anything. i can take care of it... it'll be ok..." Zegana said not quite sure if that made any sense to him. She was truely able to take care of herself even if he did loose it.

"No Stephan!" Zegana said again her eyes starting to blur with tears "we won't fight anymore I-I promise..."

"How can you promise that?" he asked bitterly, "It seems like all we ever do is fight anymore."

"no it seems like you're the one that's fighting..." Zegana said a tear rolling down her face. "I want to make up I want to say I'm sorry and leave it at that. I want to stop fighting... why don't you want to stop?"

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Because i can't Zegana!" Stephan said, turning back to look into her eyes, "I just can't. it's the way i am. Me and my brothers argue for sport. I can't stop. I just can't!"

Zegana smiled bitterly "So this is goodbye?" she asked her voice soft and hopless, a sudden change from what it was before "You're really going to just leave me?"

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Yes, this is good bye." Stephan said, "I'm going to the church."

[akitoluva]

"No you're not..." Zegana said, trying to hide the spark of fear that those words had made inside her.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Yes i am." Stephan said, "I'm no use to the world as i am or as i was so i'm going to disappear."

"Hmmm that's funny..." Zegana said lightly "I would personaly say that you are important... to me at least. but i guess i'm not important either so..."

[Hikari Hoshi]

Stephan turned around again, his eyes were deep blood red, "no." he said, nothing more, "No."

[Zippy_girl]

"Shut up, Ginza. This is your punishment for not fixing the roof earlier." Mari said, taking another bite out of his cake.

Ginza closed his mouth and standing up and walked out of the room.

Mari giggeled slightly. "Think he went to fix the roof?" She asked Winry.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"No, probably not." Winry replied, taking another bit of his cake.

[Zippy_girl]

Mari shrugged slightly, smiling as she took another bite. "Where d'you think he went?"

[Hikari Hoshi]

"His room." Winry said, "That's where he usually goes."

[Zippy_girl]

Mari smiled. "That can be good to know..." She said, looking at the door.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Yeah," Winry smiled, "Do you want the last bit of his cake?"

[Zippy_girl]

"Nah, you can have it." Mari shrugged.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Okay." Winry said, eating the last bit of her brother's cake. "So what are you doing now?"

[Zippy_girl]

"Nothing." Mari sighed slightly.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"I got a new magazine if you want to look at it." Winry teased, "Or do you want to make sure my brother isn't saulking?"

[Zippy_girl]

Mari smiled. "To the magazine!" She said energeticly.

[Hikari Hoshi]

She laughed, "Alright." she said, taking her friends hand and taking her into her room. after rumaging through a drawer she pulled out a magazine triumphantly.

Mari clapped her hands. "Yay!"

[Hikari Hoshi]

Winry grinned and flipped to a page with Jonny Depp on it. "There he is!" she said, "My baby!"

[Zippy_girl]

Mari laughed. "You know that he has a wife, right? And kids?"

[Hikari Hoshi]

"SHHH! I dont' ruin your fantasies!" Winry laughed still looking at the picture. "He's so amazing isn't he?"

[Zippy_girl]

"Yeah. He is a good actor." Mari said, smiling as she looked at the picture.

"He's an amazing actor!" Winry said, waving the magazine around. "okay, you may look now." she handed the magazine to Mari.

Mari laughed. "Thank you." She said, grabbing the magazine.

Winry stuck her tongue our at her friend and looked over her shoulder at the magazine.

Mari slowly flicked through the magazine, and spotted a dress. She stared at it for a few seconds. "I must have that!" She said, poking the picture of the dress.

Winry looked at it and made a face, "Why?" she asked, "It's ugly."

[Zippy_girl]

"Excactly! i want it so I can configurate it into something completly awsome." Mari grinned.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Ah, i might have known." Winry said, "Hey, wouldn't that look sooo cute on my brother?" She asked, pointing to a tux.

[Zippy_girl]

Mri giggeled and nodded. "It would. It'd look very cute."

[Hikari Hoshi]

Winry grinned, "Though i'm sure you think he looks cute in anything... or nothing."

[Zippy_girl]

Mari rolled her eyes. "That would be 'anything'. I haven't seen 'nothing', yet."

"Stephan I'm sorry about this but i can't let you go to the church..." Zegana said softly to him, reaching into her pocket.

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Yet?" Winry asked, raising her eye brow, "So you plan to?"

Stephan looked at her, "And how are you going to stop me?" he asked.

Mari shrugged. "Maybe. When we get older." she said, grinning slightly

[Hikari Hoshi]

Winry narrowed her eyes a little bit, then shrugged and turned back to the magazine. "Those are cute jeans." she said.

"well... i'm not sure" Zegana said softly. She got closer to him and looped one arm around his neck, kissing him passionatly. With the other hand she found her silver knife in her plocket and took it out, hiding it behind her back as she kissed him.

Stephan stood there as she kissed him for a moment, slowly starting to kiss her back. he couldn't resist. he loved her kisses.

Zegana smiled a little, maybe this would be easier than she had thought. If all she had to do was siduce him then she wouldn't even need the knife.

Stephan slowly pulled away, "Zegana..." he said softly, "I... I love you. but your better off without me."

"Stephan that's nonsense and you know it" Zegana said playfully. She smiled and moved in kissing him again.

He held the kiss a little longer this time but still pulled away, "Zegana..." he said, looking into her eyes. he wanted her, but he would not let himself have her.

Zegana smiled at him, and took his arm in her hand. Slowly she put it around her waist and let it rest on her hips. "Come on Stephan pleeassee..." she said her voice soft and inviting.

"Zegana..." he said, again, leaning in a little to kiss her then stopping, "No... Zegana... no."

"Yes Stephan..." Zegana said smileing and moving the rest of the way to kiss him.

"No...." He mummbled into the kiss, "I can't..."

"yes Stephan you can..." Zegana said, kissing him harder. "just come home ok?" she asked through the kiss.

"No." Stephan said stubornly, pulling away a little, "It's not right. I... I'm no good for you or anyone else."

Zegana smiled, putting her knife back in her picket so she could use both hands. "Yes you are Stephan..." she said quietly.

"But... i messed up... not only your life but my family's as well..." Stephan said softly, his eyes glittering.

Mari looked at them for a second before smiling. "Yeah, they are."

Winry looked sideways at her friend, "This would look great on you." she said, pointing to a long silver dress.

Mari smiled and nodded slightly. "And that would look great on you." She said, pointing to a black dress.

Winry smiled, "It would wouldn't it?" She asked grinning. "Oh, that would go great with your hair!" she said pointing to a teara(sp?)

Mari laughed. "And that one would look great with yours!" She pointed to a gold tiara.

She shook her head, "Silver would look better." She said, "Silver and black. School colors!"

"Good point. Silver would look better." Mari nodded

She smiled, "and my brother would look great in this." she said, poining to a picture of a jungle man wearing nothing but a loincloth.

Mari blushed slightly as she imagined Ginza wearing that. "Yeah... he would..." She muttered, fantasising(sp?) about Ginza.

Winry grinned a little bit more, "It would show off his tattoo nicely." she said.

Mari snapped back to reality. "He has a tattoo?"

[Hikari Hoshi]

"Yeah," Winry said, "On his thigh."

Mari laughed abit. "Seriously?"

"Yeah!" Winry said, "He got it like a year ago. He was really pist at our mom so he got a tattoo where she wouldn't see it. It's a really awesome tat."

Mari laughed abit more. "So, what's it supposed to be?"

[Hikari Hoshi]

"It's a heart with a dragon wrapped around it." Winry replied, "I went with him when he got it. you should have heard him scream."

"I can acctually imagine his screams right now." Mari said, grinning.
