Ardin rolled his as well. "Hey, if you knew some of the scrapes KAri and I have gotton into youw oulden't think I was scary."

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Well, for the moment I think you're scary so there!" She continued to roll around.

"Don't mind her. She's having one of her moments." Ryo said.

((*waves* hello elly))

((-glomps- hey!))

Ardin smiled. "Hellooooo I'm not the one who levetated an entire courtful of demons..." He said.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"True...." Yuki stopped rolling and propped herself up on her elbows, head resting in her hands.

[Elly]

Ardin smiled. "Good lord, she actually, well, exploded half of the keep where we were staying the night before we met her. If anything, she is scary when angry- or cornered and afraid."

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"And she's scary when she's happy...." Ryo blinked.

"That's true too." Yuki went back to rolling.

Hiro watched her, sending small lightning bolts to where she rolled.

[Elly]

"Not really...' Ardinprotested.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"It's not a bad kind of scary. I've never really seen anyone get as happy as her, so it's scary to me." Ryo explained.

"Same for us." Hiro and Yuki chimed in.

[Elly]

Ardin sighed. "She lives her ife to the fullest is all." He said.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"We know that." All three demons said.

Ryo sat on the floor beside Yuki and she rested her head on his leg. She was bored and in turn, that made her very lazy.

[Elly]

Ardin smiled. "What was that little book you were reaking anyway Yuki?" He asked, remembering Kari's journal.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"It was her journal..." Yuki said plainly.

[Elly]

"But.. It must have been a really old one. What was in it?" Ardin asked, curious. He had no clue other than her past was painful and that if you asked her about it, she would kick you, or throw you into a tree.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

Yuki gave him a look, that read 'please don't make me say it.' She sighed. "It had a lot of stuff in it that we don't know about her....horrible things...."

[Elly]

Ardin winced. "If its anything like the one thing she told me, I don't need to know any more.'

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"What did she tell you?"

[Elly]

"That she has seen too much death. The one specific was that her family was attacked by other vampires, and that she didn't like to talk about the time she was the bad vampire's slave." Ardin said.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Oh..." Yuki looked down. "What I read was a lot worse than that...well, I think so anyway..."

[Elly]

Ardin raised an eyebrow. "Will you tell us?"

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

Yuki thought about it for a moment. "....Fine...."

As she told about what she read, Hiro's gaze became colder than ever. Ryo handed was in a fist of tight, his knuckles were the color of white paper.

[Elly]

Ardin's face went the flat, emotionless mask that it got when he was angry.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"And...that's all I read. You three came in then." Yuki finished, voice super quiet.

Hiro growled and Ryo punched the floor, leaving a very small hole.

[Elly]

Ardin was gripping a plate so hard that it shattered. He was mad, madder than anything. "Those b@$t@rd$" He said angrily.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Ardin....relax..." Yuki moved over to him, hugging him gently.

[Elly]

Ardin forced himelf to relax, taking deep breaths.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"You two relax too....getting angry isn't going to help anything." Yuki said.

Ryo sighed.

[Elly]

Ardin relaxed as much as he was going too. "No wonder she hates talking about it."

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"I"m going to ask her about it." Ryo announced.

"Are you crazy? You know what'll happen." Hiro said.

"He's right you know." Yuki chimed in.

[Elly]

Ardin grinned. "Ryo, if you want her to throw somthing at you, I'm not gonna try to stop you." He said.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"She wouldn't do that."

"The heck she wouldn't." Hiro replied, earning a small giggle from Hoko.

[Elly]

Ardin thought. "She might, actually- I asked her when she had just met me, and I probably was rude. But... Its your head." He said.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Go be a risk taker Ryo." Yuki quipped, smiling.

"No, that's okay. I'm good." Ryo said and the two demons laughed at their friend.

[Elly]

Kari was waking in the next room, and smiled as she heard them laughing, dimly.

Ardin laughed too.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Is Kari sleeping?" Ryo asked Hiro.

He nodded. "I told her to get some rest."

"Of course she'll listen to you." Yuki teased.

"Shut. Up. Yukina." Hiro said.

Yuki laughed.

[Elly]

Ardin smiled. "She probably woke up already- she only catnaps if it's daylight." He pointed out. "She probably just dosen't want to get out of bed."

Kari didn't. She just sat and thought, eyes distant.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Wanna go mess with her?" Ryo asked.

"Go a be a risk-taker." Came the two demons response.

[Elly]

"You can do it alone."

Kari drew patterns on her blankets, thinking.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"I don't wanna go by myself..."

"Oh well..."

[Elly]

"Kari won't hurt you, she has a soft spot for you and Hiro."

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"She does?" Ryo blinked.

Hiro blinked as well. Yuki laughed at how confused they looked.

[Elly]

Ardin sighed. "She knew she was likely to die if she saved both of you, but coulden't decide. YES she has a soft spot for you two!"

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Duh you guys." Yuki said.

"Shut up Yukina." Both males said.

She sniffled. "No fair...both of you can't gang up on me like that!"

[Elly]

Ardin hugged Yuki. "Ignore the peanuts" He murmurred in her ear.

Kari toko the journal from her bedside and flipped through it, remembering the young, sweet, eager girl she had been.

Yuki sniffled again and nodded.

"Aw...look at them." Ryo nudged Hiro. "How cute."

Hiro laughed and Yuki turned the deepest shade of red possible.

Ardin turned the same red, and threw a shoe at Ryo.

Ryo dodged the shoe laughing. "I'll be back." he walked out of the door.

"I wonder where he's going." Yuki said.

"Probably to talk to Kari."

Kari shut the journal and put it in a drawer before lying back on the pillows.

Ardin smirked.

Ryo went to Kari's room, knocking quietly. "Kari...can I come in?"

Yuki was humming a song that she learned when she was younger. Hiro listened, eyes becoming distant as he lost himself in his thoughts.

[Elly]

Ardin fell asleep, having not slept well at all.

"Come in." Kari said, her voice carrying to ryo's ears just barely.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

Ryo walked in. "Hey Kari...how are you feeling?"

[Elly]

"Better." Kari said, smiling at him.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"That's good." He smiled back at her. "Can I ask you a question?"

[Elly]

Kari nodded. "You may as well sit down, cause when you ask to ask somthing you always ask one that takes a while to answer." She said.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

Ryo sat down, staring at the floor for a moment. When he looked up again, he sighed. "Wy didn't you tell us about what happened to you where you were growing up?"

[Elly]

Kari looked at the covers, and thought. Finaly she spoke. "I thought.. I thought you guys would, well, hate me, or laugh at my dreams. I was afraid you would react like my uncle did when I told him what happened to me. That you wuolden't want to travel with 'spoiled goods' " She said in a soft, quiet, monotone voice.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Kari, why would we hate you? Or laugh at your dreams? You should know us better than that!"

Sure, none of their pasts were worse than hers, but still...they wouldn't dare laugh at her or hate her; friends wouldn't do that, especially after hearing something as bad as what she had been through.

[Elly]

"I'm stupid too, ok?" She said quietly, feeling tears rise. "I made that decision before I met you guys, and besides, you didn't deserve to have to know that stuff."

"You're not stupid Kari..." Ryo said softly, looking down again.

[Elly]

"I sure can act like it."

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Acting and being actually stupid is two different things..."

[Elly]

"Are" Corrected Kari out of habit, then blushed. "Sorry"

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"No reason to be sorry." Ryo smirked. "Ya know, I never really like grammar."

[Elly]

Kari shrugged noncommentally.

Ryo sighed and looked at her wall, blankly. He was thinking of something else to say.

[Elly]

Kari fought the tears that wanted to fall, not wanting to worry Ryo. He was like a brother too her.

Ryo glanced at her, eyes suddenly concerned. "Kari...you okay? What's wrong?"

[Elly]

"I'm not going to cry, but I want too, and I feel all mixed up inside." Kari said, face stubborn.

[Snow_Angel_Kirei]

"Cry...you'll feel better."

[Elly]

Kari shook her head stuboornly.

"Are you going to be stubborn?"

[Elly]

Kari nodded, fighting the tears that were filling hr eyes.

Ryo moved over to her, placing a hand on her cheek as he stared into her eyes. "Why won't you cry Kari? Why keep it all in?"

[Elly]

"Crying is pointless..." Kari said, tears in her eyes threatening to spill over.

"But it can help sometimes..."

[Elly]

"But... but.... but..." Kari coulden;t think of an argument.

Ryo studied her for a moment before hugging her tightly.

That undid it- Kari started to cry into his sholder, trying not too.

Dennis smiled relievedly, turning. "Thanks." He said, his smile was like a beacon.

"Now what is this horse's name?" She pointed to the one she had petted.

[Elly]

"Dari" Said Dennis.

"I like that name."

[Elly]

"Thanks.. I named her, she's mine." Dennis said, blushing a little bit.

"She's Beautiful...can I ride her?" She smiled.

[Elly]

"Yeah! But.." Dennis frowned. "Technically I'm supposed to keep you in the castle.. but did you have a pack at all?" He asked, thinking. "cause, then I could say we went ot get it.'

She thought for a moment. "Wah!" Her eyes went wide. "My bag is still out there!!! It has my...important things in it!"

[Elly]

"Alright then. Do you know how to ride? I can ride with you if you don't know how." Dennis said, calm.

[AxelsShadowGirl]

She smiled. "No idea. If its ok that you ride with me..."

[Elly]

"I don't mind, and it's safer than borrowing a horse....." He said, remembering last time he did that.

Mekana laughed. "Ok. Lets go."

Dennis nodded, getting the horse out of the stall, and grabbing a saddle and bridle. His horse stood still as her put tack on her.

"Um...now how do you ride a horse?" Megan blushed feeling rather embarassed.

Dennis smiled at her. "It's ok, the king dosen't know how either." he said. "I'll get you mounted first. Want to ride in front of or behind me?" He asked.

Mekana's eyes widened. "Which ones safer?"

[Elly]

"In back, because in a fight you can let go, and you will fall off without being hurt." Dennis explained.

"O...kay..." She looked at him. "Help me..."

[Elly]

Dennis led the horse over, and smiled at her. "put your right foot in the stirrup" He said gently.

She did as he told her.

"Ok, now stand up in the stirrup and swing your leg over. i'm right here, so don't be afraid to grab my sholder if you need somthing to hang onto other than the saddle." Dennis instructed, standing close.

She tried to pull herself up but she couldn't. "This is not going to work." She pouted.

[Elly]

Dennis thought. "Try pushing off of me, and puching up with your leg as well."

Mekana did what he said and she got on. "Alright." She laughed

[Elly]

Dennis quickly mounted in front of him. His hair, which was like a chestnut roan, was shaggy- it was cut a bit lopsided. "Ready?" He asked, turning to look at her.

Mekana held onto his torso for dear life shes was deathly afriad to fall after her insident.

[Elly]

Dennis smiled, and gently patted her hands. "It's ok Mekena. If you fall, you won't break anything." He said, trying to comfort her.

"I believe you...I trust you..." She said loosening her grip a bit. "I'm ready."

[Elly]

Dennis clucked a bit, and Dari began to walk. It ws very gentle, alot like the rocking of a cradle.

"If I can ask, why were you near here?"

Mekana tried to remember. "Um, I think I was looking for someone..." She thought about it.

[Elly]

Dari walked on, and Dennis waited for an answer. He started humming a horse song out of habit.

"You know...I really dont know..." She said. She heard him humming so she started singing her own word to his song.

[Elly]

He grinned, feilng happy.

Mekana saw here bag and ran to get it. "Here it is." She sang. She was so happy she just felt like dancing so she did.

Dennis smiled, dismounting as well, watching her dance. "I'm glad you found it."

Kyato entered the castle. ((?)) ((Castle right?)) Her katana scraped the floors of the entry way. She called out in hope offinding someone. '"Hello?" Looking around Kyato began to question what wonders lay in this dark place. "Hmm...deserted?" she started walking up the staircase humming to herself.

Mekana walked over to him. "Well, lets get going..."

Kyato reached the top of the stairs. Turning the corner of the hall she opened the door to find the room empty. Across the hall was another door in which she was curious about. She opened the door as it squeaked when the nob turned. 'Hello?' she called out in question.

Dennis smiled. "you want to mount yourself? I can give you a hand up if you want."

Mekana pulled herself up nearly fally but she got on. "I think I'm getting better at this." She held onto him. "I'm ready to go."

Dennis chuckled and mounted in front of her, starting Dari with a gentle cluck.

"What were you humming before? I made up my on words to go with it..."

the back of his neck got a tad reddish.

"Uh, that's cause I made it up..."

"Oh really, I liked it. Sing with me this time." She smiled.

Dennis nodded, humming it at first.

Dennis made a face and sang the words, his voice low and quiet.

"Don't be afraid, open your mouth wide and just belt out the words!" She sang, then she sang the words he sang before.

His voice got maybe a little louder, but not by much.

"You can do better than that." She frowned. "Pretend I'm not here and just sing your heart out. Don't you ever just want to just have fun and not worry about anything?"

"No offence, but me and fun don't see one another much." He said, shrugging.

"I'm fun, I'm right here. Have fuuuuuun!" She urged him.

Dennis smiled as they neared the gates and sang, louder.

"I knew you could do it!" She yelled hugging him from where she sat behind him.

He flushed, the back of his neck going red as they rode in.

"Ah, dont you feel...alive?" She smiled closing her eye's leaning into him.

He grinned. "Well, yeah." He said as they entered the courtyard.

She opened her eyes. "Aww not yet..." She said to herself. She sighed.

Dennis pulled the horse to a stop and dismounted smoothly. "Somthing wrong?" He asked her.

"Nothing..." She said jumping down. "I just...oh nevermind."

[Elly]

Dennis grinned and hugged her, heading back into the stables with Dari.

"Hey, Horseboy, Whos your friend!" a Guard yelled.

"What? I'm Mekana." She yelled back at the guard.

[Elly]

The guard made lewd gesture, and then went back to work. Dennis could be heeard muttering somthing rude.

"I'm his girl you jerk!" Mekana said not liking the way the guard had treated her and Dennis.

[Elly]

Dennis touched her sholder as the Guard made a face. "Its ok. They always do that." H said, trying to colm her down. Inside he was dancing, he actually had a crusho n her- he just didn't say it.

"You can't stop me when I get started..." She growled walking over to the Guard. "Dennis is more man than you could ever hope to be. You discust me treating someone in that way and saying things like that. Your just jealous." She stormed back to Dennis giving him a big kiss on the cheek.

The guard was red.

Dennis flushed slightly but kissed her on the cheek too, giving her a hug.

Mekana hugged him back. "Finally..." She was blushing madly.

Dennis was smart enough to guide her into the stable, out of sight.

"Um..." She looked at the floor. "Sorry I just..." She was lost for words.

Dennis smiled, and gave her another hug. "Its ok. Its nice to know someone will stand up for me." He said, keeping a hand on her sholder.

"Yeah." She said putting her hand on his. "I was just so forward, I didn't mean to make a scence like that..."

He smiled at her. "It's ok, as I said. That's normal for him- nodbody else noticed for a reason."

"You mean you've been treated this way...how long?" Her face turned pinkish from anger.

[Elly]

"Since I started caring for the horses. It isn't anyones fault- Its just that I can understand them better than most, and it annoys them." Dennis said. He took both her hands. "Its ok."

She breathed in and out slowly. "Oh, well I just think I made it worse... they may treat you wosre than before now."

[Elly]

"Nooo.. if someone as beautiful of you likes me, they'll probably think first."

[AxelsShadowGirl]

Mekana blushed again. "Thanks, You're not so bad yourself..." She laughed.

Dennis grinned, not believing her. "whatever you say."

"Its true!" She tackled him to the floor. "You are my man after all." She said.

Dennis didn't go red at all, and smiled at her. "Nice to know I belong to someone, but arn't you mine too?" He asked ehr mildly

"Yes, yes, I'm all yours." She laughed.

[Elly]

Dennis smiled, going to stand up.

"No no no..." She said laying her head on him. "I'm too comfortable."

[Elly]

Dennis didn't bother arguing. Nobody else was allowed into the stable anyway unless he acompanied them.

"I can't wait until I can fly again." She said.

[Elly]

"I can help heal you a little bit now. I just know it'll hurt you alot."

[AxelsShadowGirl]

"I can wait then, I just get to spend more time with you."

[Elly]

Dennis smiled. He really liked her alot.

She breathed slowly not wanting to be anywhere else. "I think I fell for you...literally." She said thinking about when she hurt her wings.

[Elly]

"Sorry." He said. "I'm glad I know you, but I wish your wing wasn't broke."

[AxelsShadowGirl]

"Don't be sorry because I wouldn't be here if I hadn't fallen." She got up. "I'm happy where I am for once," she said.

[Elly]

Dennis stood too, and hugged her. "I'm glad." He said, taking her hand embarrasedly. "Want to go see the library?"

"Sure." She linked her fingers with his.

He smiled and walked with her, humming.

She sang to his humming again.

he smiled as they passed the cathedrel, and neared the large wooden library doors.

"Oh, big doors..." She looked at them. "I love books..."

"Me too." Dennis said as he puched open a small door withen one. Inside it was huge, with areas to read in.

Her eyes glittered looking at all the books. "Whoa..."

Dennis nodded. "Yup."

"Oh where are the romance novels?"

[Elly]

Dennis grinned and took her to a small alcove. "Voila." He said. "I swear every female in the castle asks that."

"Eh heh?" She grinned sheepishly. She picked up a book and opened to a random page. "She smiled at him as He slid his..." O_O "Okaaaaay no more of that..." She slammed the book closed.

Dennis didn't laugh, but he did grin.

"Ok, I need to read to myself, that was not appropriate..." She set the book down and pick up another. "This sounds normal..."

Dennis grinned. "That one is actually clean. Its only in here cause it involves desctiptions of people using thier fangs to drink." He made a face. "I hate doing that, I prefer energy from the horses."

She was getting really into the book. "I really have to stop reading from te middle but nothing good ever happens in the begining..." She read more. "Whoa, he doesn't want her to become a one of them so he breaks her heart to save her...how sad..."

Dennis nodded. He would honestly never drink her blood, he liked her the way she was.

"Ok, now its boring..."She put it down. "Whats your favorite book?"

Dennis went to the alcove beside it and came back with a novel. On the cover was a horse. "This. It's about a city boy who finds a place in the country after being disowned."

"That sounds sad...does it have a happy ending? Does he get the girl?" She stood closely next to him.

[Elly]

"I don't know. Nobody does. the author died before he finished it, but I think so." Dennis admitted.

((I'm sick. ))

((AW! Then why are you on silly?))
Her eyes widened. "Well you got your girl." She put her arms around his shoulders.

[Elly]

((Because I don't want to sleep.))

Dennis grinned and hugged her. "I'm glad.. and you got your man."

((But if you dont sleep you wont get better...))
"Yes and I care about him very much." She put her head on his shoulder.

[Elly]

((I slept most of the day yesterday and today..))

"And he feels the same way about you." Denis said, kissing her cheek.

She kissed him quickly on the lips. She pushed away looking at her shoes finding them very interesting. "So..." her voice squeaky.

Dennis smiled and hugged her. "Want to see to cathedrel?"

"Sure." She said looking at him.

Dennis tok her hand and lead her towards the cathedral.

She let him pull her. She'd do anything for him.

"Here" He said, opening a small door. Inside it was beautiful, and it was hushed and holy- it was [eaceful. That was the main feeling that it evoked, peace.

Mekana looked at everything. There was so much beauty to take in. She was happy that he brought her there. "Oh, wow...Its so beautful..."

Dennis smiled, looking around too. He loved going here- it was so calm, a contrast to the rest of the castle.

"Thank you for taking me here." She put her hand on his shoulder.
((You felling any better?))

Dennis grinned at her. "Welcome. You looked like you needed it."

((Meh. I don't want a new throat now, but thats it.))

"I did. At least I get to be with you."

[Elly]

Dennis smiled at her and kissed her cheek, hugging her as well.

((My throat dosen't hurt anymore, though my voice still sounds like crip.))

"I don't want to be anywhere but here..." She said closing here eyes for a moment.

Dennis smiled, then picked her up, careful of her wing. "Want to go to one of the towers? It isn't flying, but you can feel the wind."

Her eyes sparkled. "Yes!" She half yelled half said.

Dennis laughed as he carried her towards the north tower.

She was giddy. She couldn't wait to feel the cool rush of air she loved.

Once they were up there, Dennis set her down on the wall, sitting beside her. The wind was blowing all over the place.

She closed her eyes and pulled her ribbon that held her hair up and let it fall blowing all around her.

[Elly]

Dennis smiled, catching a strand.

"Hmm..." She smiled big. "This is all so great, and all in one day..."

"Welcome to the castle of insanity." Dennis said wryly.

She thought about singing...so she did.

Dennis blushed at the lyrics, but smiled at her voice. It was beautiful, like her.

She leaned into him and sighed happily. "This is perfect...almost seems too perfect..."

Dennis smiled, putting a hand on the back of her head, smoothing her hair.

She poked his forehead. "Poke..."

Dennis laughed. "Poke to you to!" He said, poking her lightly in the stomach.

She held her stomach. "Hey that tickles!" She laughed.

He poked her again, teasing her.

"I'll get you for that!" She laughed again poking his side.

Dennis smiled. "I'm not ticklish there." He said.

"Well where are you ticklish?" She said poking him in the belly button.

"My feet." Dennis said, glad he was wearing boots.

"Really now," She said looking at his boots then made an evil look. "I will get you." She tried to laugh evily but it didn't sound evil.

Dennis laughed too, finding it inherently amusing.

"Laugh at me all you want, I will, I repeat, Will get you back." She said.

[Elly]

"I believe you." Dennis said, smiling at her.

[AxelsShadowGirl]

"Good." She said looking up at the sky.

[Elly]

Dennis smiled absently.

"Its getting kind of cold..." She said pulling her arms around herself.

Dennis hugged her and kept an arm around her. "Want to stay up here, or go get fed?" He asked her.

"I think," Her stomach growled. She blushed. "I thought about food and..." She rambled.

Dennis laughed and picked huer up.

"It feels good to0 be in your arms." She said closing her eyes and leaning on him.

Dennis smiled, picking her up and blinking. "You don't weigh much, do you?" He asked, starting down the stairs.

Her eyebrow went up. "I don't....know...?"

[Elly]

Dennis smiled. "My sister used to weigh more than you, when she was ten. and you are definately older than ten."

"Well...yeah thanks...I'm 17..." She blushed. "Where is your sister?"

[Elly]

"She's dead." Dennis said flatly as they entered the hall too the kitchens.

Mekana felt really bad after her question. She didn't say anything as she looked at her hands that were around his neck.

Dennis hugged her as he carried her. "It's ok. I just don't like talking about the why." he said.
