Zane made his way half-way as he heard the bell ring.He watched each class carefully,scanning her in the crowd.

Echo was sitting in the short, empty hallway at the back of the school, attached to the art room. It was the corner of the school, sort of run down. Most of it was filled with paint supplies, brushes scattered all over the floor, canvases attached to the walls, some with half finished paintings, while more of the paintings were on the walls.

There was a lump of moist clay sitting a little bit away from Echo, half formed into something.

This was her hallway, essentially. No other student was so into art as her. All the artwork was hers back here. She had a small palet of paint on the floor next to her.

She bent down and flattened her palms into the red paint, and splattered her hands on the empty canvas.

Zane smiled a bit,and guessed where most people like her,or even him hanged,the art room.He made his way down the hall and peeked in,'Bingo was his name-o.'he thought.

Echo swirled her hands all over the canvas, and dipped them in more paint, smearing it over the red.

Using the back of her hand, she pushed some of her onyx hair out of her eyes. She scratched her upper arm, and left a smudge of red on it.

She dipped the tip of her finger in black, and began writing over the red.

Echo jumped at the sound, and spun around. When she saw who it was, she smiled. She blew a stray lock of velvet hair out of her eyes. The rest of her hair was twisted up in a messy bun secured with a few paintbrushes, some with paint still in them.

"Graceful entrance," she said, arching her left eyebrow.

Noticing the paint smudge on her arm, she looked down at her scarred arm, at the red. She shook her head, breaking out of it, and looked back down to Zane.

Turning back to the hallway, she spread her arms wide. "Welcome to my haven..." she said with a playful smile on her pale lips, her silver eyes sparkling.

"The art teacher and I are really close," she explained. "He was here for me for a ... difficult ... time my freshman year, and after that, he basically gave me this hallway." She looked down it at all her work, her partial works, and the paint drippings everywhere.

"I spent all my spare time in the artroom, and when I started taking up too much space in there, he told me to move back here."

Echo smiled at him. "And you?"
