Clans-

Every garou belongs to a clan, usually based on their heritage. Some of the major ones are as follows...

Children of Gaia: A mostly American tribe, sometimes called the hippies of the garou. They're very close to nature and to Gaia.

Red Talons: One of many Native-American tribes. My knowledge of them is sadly limited, but the lupus known as Storm-Eye is easily one of the most fierce garou among them.

Silver Fangs: The most ancient and noble of all the tribes, the Silver Fangs are mostly Russian or decended from Russians. They pride themselves on their bloodlines and their unparalleled skill in battle against the Wyrm.

Silent Striders: This tribe originated in Egypt, and most of its members are middle-eastern or of middle-eastern descent. However, none of them actually LIVE there. A curse was placed upon them at their very beginnings by Seth, exiling them so they could never return to their homeland. Consequently the Striders are known wanderers.

Fianna: The Fianna are known for being a touch on the wild side, but can they help it? They (like myself :p ) are Irish, and proud of it, too. Enough of them are Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English, etc. But plenty also ended up in America.

Glass Walkers: The Glass Walkers are a contradiction if there ever was one. These are the only garou that embrace technology, and they use it in their battle against the wyrm with great efficiency. Glass Walkers are found just about everywhere.

Black Furies: A formidible tribe, right up there with the Silver Fangs when it comes to ferocity in battle. It is said that hell hath no fury like an angry woman, and they use this philosophy. They are the Amazons of the garou world, known for their ferocious female warriors. They are descendants of the Greeks.

Stargazers: An oriental tribe that seems to follow the traditional isolationism concept. They've mostly withdrawn from the rest of the world to turn their struggles against the wyrm to a new level- they are in closer touch with the umbra than the other tribes.

Uktena: Another Native-American tribe. My knowledge of them is sadly limited, but I believe that they are a northern tribe that exist upward toward Canada and Alaska.

Wendigo: ...my knowledge fails me here.......

Bone Gnawers: As long as there have been cities, there have been Bone Gnawers. Seems contradictory, right? Wrong. These garou live in city parks, in back allies, ectetera, and when in their homid forms are usually mistaken for homeless people, or stray dogs when in lupine. They're known for being close to humans, which makes them valuable for getting to places where other garou can't stand to be.

Get of Fenris: Scary, scary people!!!! The Get of Fenris are of Germanic and Scandinavian origins, and are brutal fighters. They can also hold a grudge longer than anyone, and have had a long rivalry with the Silver Fangs.

Shadow Lords: Oddly enough, all the Shadow Lords are black when in cyrnos and lupine forms. They're of slavic descent, and specialize in manipulation. Their lives are all about backstabbing their way to a place of power, and as a clan they aspire to overthrow the Silver Fangs.

Your auspice is pretty much your class. What would your usual class be? Warrior, monk, mage, rogue, bard...?

Races-

Not all those who serve Gaia are Garou. Some terms to know...

Garou- werewolf. This is a person who can shift through forms between wolf and man. The werewolf 'gene' shows in them.
Kinfolk- a human or wolf who is a carrier of the werewolf gene, but it doesn't appear in. They can't shift forms, but they still help the war against the wyrm.

Something important to note here. It is forbidden by Gaia for Garou to mate with Garou. Such a union results in a Metis, a Garou child born with some deformity that makes his heritage apparent. However, to keep the Garou race alive, Kinfolk and Garou can and do mate.

Humans and wolves- this speaks for itself.

Okay, well, as time goes on we can add more people. Lets get started. Here's me:

This story begins before the defeat of Jo'cllath'matric, The Wyrm Trying To Forget. It's a chaotic time, but with enough strong leaders in place the Garou look like they may scrape through another century... or will they?

In America, where the story begins, unrest is brewing for the Silverfang tribe as one of their own, the King of the Garou Jacob Morninkill slips into madness. Unable to fight the wyrm and its banes, many in the area find themselves with no leader, and must look inward for guidance.

That's where we come in :D Starts in a remote, rural town in Maine that all our characters are passing through for whatever their reason.

I'm quite interested in what you all are doing... I play Garou every weekend. I travel across country at least once or twice a year to play my character in another town. I'm playing a Get of Fenris right now, and my Child of Gaia died last year (sob). Is this a garou forum or a vampire forum? I noticed someone called the different garou clans. The vampire have clans, Garou have Tribes (same idea, different word). If you want, I'll post a bit about the tribes. Some of the stuff earlier about the tribes was a bit off. No problem, though. I've been playing the game for 6 years. It's called a LARP (Live Action Role Playing). We have character sheets saying what we're good at and when there's a fight or challenge (eg: I'm quick enough to snatch your sandwich out of your hand), we use rock-paper-scissors to solve it. It's a lot of fun. :D I've also been gaming online off and on for about 10 years now. Let me know what you all are doing. Thanks
