You know, I can't understand half of the lyrics in most rap songs. But, some rap is ok, but, a lot of the lyrics just aren't what some people like. I personally hate rap, but that's just because of my musical taste. Rap just tends to be violent and/or degrading to women and that doesn't appeal to some people. They prefer good ol' classic rock 'n roll. And, rap does degrade women, not just from the videos, the lyrics. The lyrics seem to just be kind of, one sided, and everyone writes about the same things. Women, violence, etc. I'm not saying all rap is like that, but a good deal of it is. Some rap has meaningful lyrics, and sends across a good message to people, or it tells a story about their life other than their fights, women, etc. But, in those cases, I still don't like the music, and the way it is sung, and the beat, the instruments used and so on.

I personally don't like most rap. At all. For one thing, I can never understand them. But from what I can hear it's mostly about "The hood" "Hoes" "Gang fights" and "Their sexiness and/or sex itself". And I hate all of those things, degrading women, gun fights and is it necessary to rap about sex? Anyway, Peach, I know you like rap and that's good. It's sad because rap isn't the rap it use to be. You can't really call it art now because it's all industry and it defaces the african people in america. Back in the 80's rap was real but now it's dead and gone. I wish that these young artists could come out with something more meaningful than what it is now. look, all i'm gonna say is that i've heard worse than Face Down by Red Jumpsuit Aparatus and This Ain't a Scene it's An Arms Race by Fall Out Boy in rap songs.
